• Richard (8/5): Good value - Good self-service English+ breakfast. Plenty of parking. On a good bus route into Oxford. It took about five minutes to walk to a bus stop, and then it took about 15 mins to get to the centre of Oxford. Small thing, but the mushrooms were always too salty. After a week the shower water didn't drain away very well.

• Francesco (9/5): - We had a very pleasant stay and would happily recommend this hotel. The staff were very kind and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, parking was easy, and the breakfast was rich and varied. Reaching Oxford city centre was extremely easy, with a bus connection taking around 15 minutes. The larger rooms are located on the upper floor, and there is no lift, which may be worth noting for guests with heavy luggage or small children. There are a few technical details that could be improved for a 4-star hotel — for example the shower temperature control was stuck on a very hot setting, and the bathroom ventilation did not seem to be working properly.

• Bianca (1/5): Filthy, vile, unpleasant, disgusting. NOT 4 STARS. - Location was the only good thing. This was one of the filthiest and most disgusting hotels I’ve ever had the misfortune of staying in. As soon as I walked into the reception, I knew my room was going to be dirty. The reception area absolutely stunk of body odour, it was so strong it made me want to gag. The glass had fingerprints on and the stairs were dirty. This isn’t the first impression a customer should ever have. When I went into my room, at first glance it looked clean, that was until I opened the toilet lid and there was remnants of human faeces still in the bowl and the shower was thick with calcified dirty and grime. I went down to reception to let them know and wasn’t given a sorry or an offer of another room, which was my second red flag. Instead he said “I’ll get the cleaner” “do you have pictures” and “can I see”. Once I seen the “cleaner”, I understood why the rooms were filthy. Just a young lad, in scruffy clothes, no uniform looking like he just woke up and left his bedroom. So unprofessional. I took them both up to the room and again once they seen the poo, I didn’t get an apology just an offer to clean it, which I accepted but this was clearly an average day for them, any normal hotel staff would be mortified and they were completely unbothered. On top of that when he seen the built in grime around the shower he said “this will take longer to get off” you don’t say! That’s because it’s never been cleaned properly a day in its life. In hindsight I should’ve asked for another room, but I’d been travelling for 3 hours and had work to do and In all honesty from the smell in reception to the look of the staff I assumed all rooms would be just as vile. After work, when I went to get in the shower I noticed even more disgusting filth. Thick black pubes next to the toilet, filthy floor, hair everywhere, grime on the radiator, marks all over the walls. So I went on Deliveroo and ordered myself £40 worth of cleaning products and a pillowcase.

• Deb (4/5): As we were going to a party we would have liked to shower but we practically scalded ourselves trying to fix the shower - Good location for us to attend a friend’s party and a comfortable bed. Small room with cheaply done curtains that didn’t fit the full window and a shower that was stuck on boiling hot and a sink that was extremely slow to drain.

• enrico (7/5): Effective accommodation to visit Oxford - Position on the main access road, transport facilities. Everything in goid working order, good (english) brakfast. The road is a bit noisy. The bed is classic 1.4 m wide, so, a bit cramped.

• Alina (2/5): Extremely dirty and not 4-star standard - Convenient location - you can easily take the bus to city center. The bed was quite comfortable. Parking in front of the hotel. The 4 stars part is extremely misleading, this is a 2 star hotel all day long. Very dirty and I’m not exaggerating at all. Everything is very dated and dusty. The toilet near the reception was dirtier than one at any airport, disgusting. The bathroom in our room had dust, molds and hair on the floor, clearly lacking cleaning and proper hotel management. No air conditioning, but a noisy ventilator - in a 4 stars hotel? Breakfast is extremely basic and if you are late (around 9am), all tables are taken and you have to wait until someone will finish and then wait another 15 mins until they will clean that table. The personnel was very cold, no warm welcome, very transactional. There was no one there at the check-out, the cleaning lady told me to leave the key in the box. We stayed only one night, luckily, but left very disappointed.

I will not leave my window open overnight if i am on thr ground floor. I requested a double but was given a twin room. I informed the centre i was gluten free, there was no GF cereal. I asked for toast, one side was toasted, the other cold and wet.

I didn’t know it would be such a good place - Modern smart rebuild of interior provides excellent facilities. Better than a Travel Lodge 2/3 of the price. Really good tasty breakfast buffet Top notch staff - I dropped a fork at breakfast and the chap on duty heard it fall and was halfway across the Resteraunt with a replacement before I’d even got out of my chair. He also lets us keep our car in the car park for a couple of hours extra on Sunday afternoon as we went to a friends nearby saving us the hassle of finding Parking. I’m a regular visitor to Oxford and I’ll definitely be back. Comfortable bed lives up to The write up on their website Water pressure in the shower could have been better. Communal toilets near a restaurant lets any means for drying your hands

• Michael (9/5): Good choice in Oxford for value and convenience - This was the second time in a month that we had stayed at the Remont Oxford Hotel, and it represents good value in an expensive city for accommodation. Convenient access to the city centre and parking is very useful. Room was quite small but comfortable and quiet, and breakfast was good. Staff very friendly and helpful.

There was only one person when we got there and we waited outside for half an hour to be opened. We rang all the door bells multiple times. Das Frühstücksbuffet war gut bestückt, für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Die Lage ist perfekt. Eine Bushaltestelle in der Nähe, an der mehrere Busse Richtung Innenstadt fahren. Leider ist die Matratze durchgelegen.

Mahi is welcoming and remembers guests very well, including the activities they did on previous stays. Impressive! There is nothing I dislike about the property. Das Frühstück war vielfältig: warme Speisen, Toast, Müsli, Joghurt, Obstsalat ... alles vorhanden. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich würde dieses Hotel erneut buchen. Die Türen zu den Hauswirtschaftsräumen standen offen. Dadurch entstand ein unaufgeräumtes etwas chaotisches Bild.

• Michael (9/5): Comfortable and convenient hotel in North Oxford - Very convenient place to stay in North Oxford with free parking and good bus access to city centre and places like Woodstock. We had booked a standard room which, although quite small, was comfortable with a decent shower room and tea making facilities, and suited our needs perfectly for a short stay. Good buffet breakfast and all staff were very friendly and helpful.

• Barbara (8/5): A good one night stop - The staff were welcoming and helpful. It's a great location and the ability to park is great. The room was fine. The bed was extremely comfortable which was great. There was everything I needed for this 1 night stay. Breakfast was buffet style, no option to order but it was fresh and the coffee was good. It's on a busy road so there is traffic noise. It was ok but just to be aware if you're a light sleeper. The bathroom was a bit tired. Sink didn't drain well and shower head was one setting only and a bit weak but I do have to say the towels were lovely and fluffy and it was fine for the night.

• stefan (9/5): Oxford è veramente bella - Pulito ed accogliente con parcheggio interno . Struttura datata ma ben tenuta e ristrutturato. Stile inglese e senza fronzoli. Colazione e servizio impeccabile. Purtroppo avevamo la stanza a secondo piano e portare su un valigia da 23 kg senza ascensore e con due rampe di scale strette e ripide non è ammesso. All'arrivo mi ha portato su la valigia il giovanotto della reception, ma non per scendere.

It was comfortable and staff friendly and lovely breakfast in the morning. Oxford is a lovely place and would love to go again some time. Our room was nice but was a loft conversion it could of been a little more updated with decor but still was nice and comfortable also there was the exception of dirty tissue left in the toilet from the person before when we arrived and would of been nice to have more complementary items with the room for the price and extra toilet tissue available apart from that we enjoyed our stay

The helpful staff and the convenient location are the things that would make me not hesitate to book again. Being able to leave the car at the hotel after checkout, go to the conference, and then return by taxi to collect the car was so convenient. Great stay!

The staff were polite and helpful, suggesting places for an evening meal. The Hotel was on a very busy main road, so was noisy with traffic from around 6.30 in the morning, but that is not the fault of the hotel
