- Danielle (8/5): - The parking lot needs some TLC. Pitted and hard to park. The bar/restaurant was understaffed for a Friday night. Waited forever to order and then again just to get the bill.

- Erik (2/5): - No heat overnight when the outside temperature was in the 30s. We needed to get blankets from the car to stay warm. 54 degrees in the room. No hot water for showers in the morning. Website didn't say anything about live music, but they didn't mention that the locals us the facility for a jam session. 6 guitars and 3 vocalists directly under our room. No staff or manager to respond about heat and music. Emails, texts and voicemail that are supposed to be monitored 24/7 received no response. We've stayed their before and never impressed, but the location is good. After this stay, never again. The absentee owners are pathetic.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Overall, I may stay here again but it won’t necessarily be my first choice. The inn is in a small town with several restaurants (with vegan options, though none onsite at the bar restaurant downstairs). I appreciated that the inn description kept mentioning it was upstairs to the bar and band space. They provided earplugs. But it wasn’t the band I had to content with but the neighboring rooms watching football and their dog barking every time a play was made. After the game ended, everything went quiet though, and I slept through the night. I wish the window had screens so I could have left it open to hear the River rushing. The room was old but clean and comfortable. I am grateful for another guest who posted photos of the carpeted staircase you have to climb to get to the inn because I missed the one tiny sign inside pointing to the inn and wouldn’t have known where to go (the inn is unstaffed, tho they text you lock info and are responsive that way).
- Rachelle (8/5): - Very clean and comfortable room with an excellent view of the stream and the trees outside. No TV in the room; perfect for anyone looking for a night away. The walls are thin so if you are sensitive to noise I would not recommend as I could clearly hear my neighbor snoring, however ear plugs are provided in the room should you need them. I would stay here again should I be in the area.

- Brian (4/5): - I may have missed this because i used ORBITZ app - but had no idea rooms were above a bar - and that a live band would be playing from 7pm-just after 10 pm. The ear plugs provided can't hide bass and drum vibrations through floor and ceiling. room was small - OK for one night, but for two people, more than one night, don't do it! I'm OK with no TV or microwave, but a small fridge would've been nice. It's a "no contact" property, but some woman felt she needed to check if we belonged there after we came in (through the bar, the only way in)!
- SELENA (4/5): - There seemed to be a thermostat for AC but no air. Mainly the toilet didn’t work. We had to turn off the water to keep it from running all night and remove the tank cover to flush manually.
- Trina (6/5): Not Worth It!! - Was expecting to have AC and the room does not come with AC even though there’s a thermostat in the room. Bed was AS HARD AS A ROCK! Regardless I slept well though my boyfriend did not. Room was very tiny. Looked bigger in the images I viewed of the room. Room DOES NOT have cups, utensils, microwave, mini fridge NOT EVEN A TV or mini fan because there’s no AC. Overall, if you’re just looking for a place where you’ll be in the room to just basically sleep then it might be for you. We will not re-book here. Oh and there’s no front desk or a sole around to ask for any extra pillows, towels, etc.
- Elizabeth M (10/5): - After walking around the quaint town of Wilmington, we couldn't decide where to go for dinner. We went to the bar to taste test the beer and ended up ordering a pizza. The bartender gave us ice to take upstairs. The building is an older building and has many eccentricities. We loved staying here and will stay again if in the neighborhood.
- Colleen (8/5): - This is a unique stay. I really enjoyed it and would go back. Pictures are accurate. Bare bones, but great price. LOVED the town and area. Comfy bed. Small, but super clean hot water shower. Live music on the weekend - enjoy it!! - done fairly early. No big deal.
- Eugene (8/5): - Valley Craft Ales is an Old Mill turned into a Restaurant and Lodging location. It is conveniently located in downtown Wilmington, VT. There is no receptionist so you have to let yourself in with a computer code. You may find yourself approached by two aggressively barking midsize dogs, if you arrive after hours. If you do, don't panic, their barks are bigger than their bites. The rooms are comfortable,clean, quiet and pest free. There is a terrific River out back that can be seen and heard, from your window which is calmingp. You can even swim in it. Great ventilation. On the downside, we had sink faucet problems which were repaired after a few days.. We were told we would be refunded for those. .There is sn unswept rocky front stairway and a building exterior badly in need of some carpentry repair and a fresh coat of red paint. They have, on some evenings, guitar entertainment but it's low and nice background music in the room. They stop at 9:00 pm to not keep Lodgers up. It can be a super comfortable stay if they just fix some of the glitches. The need stairway Masonry to create a smooth sidewalk to the back River. The place has a LOT of promise. The dogs need a backyard. The Management was warm and friendly. Decent people . #####
- ANDREW (2/5): - i never got to even stay there because they never sent me the damn "passcode" to get in my room... if i had known about the whole "virtual thing" before i even made the reservation then i wouldn't have booked the reservation in the first place... i don't want to drive 4 hours to get there to find out that no one there knows the information needed to get me in my room... i waited until 3 PM which is way later than i wanted to just to see if they would respond to me giving me the door passcode,,, so they text it way after 3 and i had already forfeited the entire trip because i would be rushing at that point and speeding... not worth it.. ruins the whole happy vibe of a trip in the first place... they should have given me what i needed at the time that they billed me!!! so i lost 200$ and overall...lesson learned

- Lauren (6/5): - Property is definitely unique! There is no front desk or check in; you get an email or text with the code to your door and your room number and that's it. Convenient, but nobody to talk to if you had any issues. The rooms are above the bar, and they frequently have live music, so be mindful of that. I will say that I stayed on a Saturday night and the music was done by 10:45pm, but you could still hear people at the bar and going in and out of the front door, and even people just coughing in the next room. It is a very old building, and they do supply you with ear plugs as they understand that noise is an issue. The beer was good, the pizza was good, so if you just need a bed for the night and don't mind noise, it's a fine place to stay.

- Mitchell (2/5): Horrible place to stay - The website indicates air conditioning. The thermostats did not work so no air conditioning. Other lighting was so bad I couldn’t see anything much but everything looked dingy and dirty. The bathroom sink was tiny and the second bathroom was across a public hall when it was represented as a two bathroom unit. It was so bad that we had to find another hotel to stay in. We did not stay in the room that was totally paid for. Complete waste of money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Charming and fun - The inn is above the brew pub/pizzeria, which is an old ski lodge, which is pretty rustic and very charming. Great deck over the river where you can enjoy pizza and beer. Quiet (when no live music, which is mostly), easy to access. Stairs, basic plumbing, nice location.

- lakota (8/5): - A very unique place to stay in southern VT. I did love my view overlooking the river. I can imagine it's a great place to stay in the summer, especially as a group if you're looking for local lodging close to hiking etc. I was there end of May, just before the start of the summer season apparently, and it was all but abandoned which was disconcerting to me. I arrived on a day when the restaurant and bar were closed (monday) and no staff were present. The place has a code lock on the front door for self check-in. It was completely dark and uninhabited when i arrived. Turns out (I learned from one of the owners that was present later that evening) I was one of 2 people staying in the whole place. Being in a town I've never been to before, travelling alone, this was not my ideal. Had I not arrived on a monday, the bar and restaurant would have been open though, and that would have likely felt very different. I would consider staying again under different circumstances because the place is very unique (building and antiques) and the owner was cool when I ran into him. But the whole place (especially windows, carpets and probably HVAC sys) could use a deep spring cleaning! 3 stars for cleanliness felt pretty generous but the bedding and bathroom were spotless and i'm giving the benefit of the doubt due to being off season.

- David (4/5): - A friend and I stayed 2 nights at Valley Craft Ale while we attended a 2-day golf school nearby. Neither of us is too particular about our accommodations, so we went with the lower price of the Valley Craft Ale, reassured by its "Excellent" rating. While the price was certainly right and having the pizza & ale house below is very convenient, the room was far from excellent. Our reservation was for one of the "family" rooms, which has 1 queen and 2 single beds. While the room was clean, the beds, chair, dresser, and rugs all had to be at least 20 years old. Both single beds sank in the middle, and the queen was extra firm. In addition, the thermostat did not control the excessive heat in the room. We were forced to open all the windows to cool the room (once we installed the temporary screens that were provided). Oh, and my bad, I neglected to notice in the room description that there was no TV in the room. I've stayed in many excellent hotels and this is not one of them.

- Daniel (6/5): - It’s a hotel room to sleep in for $100 a night..Had to buy my own soap and shampoo because the bottles were smaller than travel size. No tv. Glad I had my iPad. Keyless entry is nice. Host is very communicative, excellent in that regards. When I booked the hotel it said one room left, the place was empty, maybe 1 other person staying there…overall I’d stay here again, options are extremely limited in this area. But definitely not worth $100 a night…
- Claire (10/5): - It's not clear on expedia that this is also a music venue but anyone intending to stay here should check the Valley Ales website because you can hear the live music in the rooms. The room was cozy and clean but the shower was extremely small (difficult to shave your legs small). I loved opening my window to hear the river outside. It was a convenient location to walk into town.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome local spot to stay! - I have stayed here several times, we love it here! If you are used to luxury though, this isn’t it. The building is older and has such lovely character in each room. Yes, it’s small, it’s like a B&B without the breakfast. The bar and brick oven pizza below is amazing! Their beer is very good as well. All of the staff are super nice. They do have music and bands on the weekends. We enjoyed this and didn’t find it disruptive to our sleep. Yes, the walls are thin, but not where it was awful. I don’t know what some reviewers expected! The beds and bathroom are super clean. No weird smells in the room! They leave you some small shampoos etc which is helpful. The towels are nice and clean and the water is hot. The shower stall is small but we don’t mind that. It’s self check in and steps to upstairs rooms only. Our only complaint is the mattresses are all pretty hard in every room we have stayed so far. A mattress topper would help. Aside from that, it’s an amazing spot close to the mountain! Thank you for our great stays! We will be back.

- Allyson (8/5): - This is my second time staying here. This experience was definitely better than the last as I knew exactly what to expect in regards to noise, the band, parking and crowds. If you know what to expect it is the perfect place. It is not a place to stay if you want good sleep. But if you want great pizza and music, it is perfect if you’re trying to ski on a budget. Come prepared with noise cancelling headphones.
- ELISIA (8/5): Great, clean room close to Mt Snow - We love this spot! Yes, it’s an older building with history and the rooms are small, but it’s a great stay! Close to the mountain, always clean and the rooms don’t smell weird like some. The shower stall is small but water is hot! We have stayed in a few rooms and the mattresses are very hard but maybe we are just used to softer ones. You have your own thermostat and it’s not those wall units. The restaurant/bar downstairs is great. The beer is great and so is their pizza. Friendly staff also! If you are high maintenance this place may not be for you, but we love it.
- Allyson (6/5): - The room was basic which was expected for the price. The shower is extremely, extremely small. The bed was decent. Checking in is easy with door codes. But you can hear every neighbor’s sounds. And if someone is in the hallway or below your room, it honestly sounds like they’re in your room. It is not muffled. I also had the room directly above the band. To say the place is “not quiet” and that earplugs are provided if the noise exceeds your preference is a complete understatement. It is like there is a concert is in your room, everything is vibrating and my own noise cancelling headphones did not make a difference. If you’re joining in the fun, it could be fine. But I arrived after the band started, could not find parking anywhere in the town for a half hour. When I walked inside, the restaurant was so packed and there were about 30 people just in line for a drink. Amazing for the business, but long lines deterred me from joining in. I didn’t check the band calendar ahead of time and would recommend it. I guess I imagined chill live music where I could grab some beer and chill out. Something I would typically see at a brewery. But it was more like a small legit concert with lots of dancing. Again, amazing for the business, but definitely not for a traveler that wants to sleep or have a place to relax.
- Ayla (8/5): Good Stay - The location was great, just 15 minutes from Mount Snow and it’s right in Wilmington so close to shops and restaurants. The room was basic but clean, we had the family room with two single beds and one queen. The single beds seemed comfortable but the queen bed was VERY firm. Also, the room was directly above the stage. And the music performance on Saturday went until 11pm instead of 10 as advertised. The music was really loud, so I would not recommend this for a family with young kids or people who want to go to bed early. It was the cheapest place we could find though, so I would still stay again.
- Peter (10/5): VCA solo stay - The room was just as expected, basic, clean and comfortable for a solo stay. The noise level SAT night was quite loud due to the band performing downstairs. A TV in the room would be great for relaxing during down times. WiFi was good and bathroom was exceptionally clean and even had toiletries. Only thing lacking was a spare roll of bath tissue.
- ELISIA (10/5): Great local spot! - Room was nice and clean, hot water was HOT, nice views of the creek, town right around the corner and 15 mins to Mount Snow. We had a great time. The pizza and bar/beer beneath the rooms was great. I was impressed with their beer. The staff were super friendly. The rooms are small(older historic building which was very nice) and have no tv/fridge/microwave so just keep that in mind if you need those things. The noise complaints on some reviews seem irrational. It’s an older building and above a bar/band scene some nights. Not sure what they expect. We had a great stay and will be returning!

The room and bathroom are clean, the pizza and drinks downstairs are good, and it’s great place for the price. It is quite loud until the live music stops on the weekends, but they are very upfront about that.
- Stuart (8/5): - Housed in a former riverside mill, the rooms are basic, simple no frills rooms. The bathroom was fine (shower stall), heat excellent, but walls are very thin. Fortunately it was a quiet weekday nite for me, so the few customers went to bed early, and there was no band downstairs in the restaurant/bar. There is no front desk, you enter with door codes which worked fine. The low price was most attractive for me, and I was skiing at Mt Snow the next day. On a full weekend, parking may be kind of far from the entrance which could be a pain.

- Mauricio (8/5): - Our third time staying here. It’s a fair room with all you need but no luxuries. Close to Mt Snow (20min) and restaurants (walking). The staff is responsive via text but there’s no traditional front desk. Downside is the noise from other rooms or downstairs (pizza place/bar) when they have an event or something. As an improvement, it’d be great to have a fridge upstairs for guests.

If you are in your 20s this might be a good place for you and/or if you like noisy places. The furniture is old and uncomfortable. Pictures don't depict reality. Too expensive for the value.

- Joshua (10/5): So Much Character and Charm! - This place was full of character and charm. And for the price, you can't beat it! It's located in an old mill and all the rooms are above a restaurant. As such, it does get noisy in the rooms. With that said, it's quiet by 9pm, and since they don't serve breakfast in the restaurant, it's quiet until the afternoon. There's no tv in the rooms, which we loved! We would absolutely stay here again and again and again!

- Teresa (8/5): Restful enough - It was an old building and they had a sign about it which was helpful. I was alone and I don't make much noise but other people do! It was close to very good restaurants and a dispensary which was not expected. The hotel is non-smoking!

- Tina (10/5): A little get away - If you want a rustic no frills place to stay, then this is a good place to go. It was an unusual experience, but not in a bad way. There’s no real check in, but the communication from the information to get into your room felt welcoming and easy to understand. The room was clean but rustic and there’s no TV which didn’t bother us but could be a difference for someone. The room was a little small but cozy. We were in the side of the river which was a bonus.
- Lisa (10/5): - Everything about this property was fantastic. Check-in was super easy, a text was sent with all necessary info before we arrived. The room was spacious and clean. The property itself was so cool and views off the back deck were spectacular. The location was within walking distance to in downtown Wilmington. We also loved that the bus stop was just feet away and free, so getting around was super easy. We would stay again for sure.

- Sheila (2/5): Renter beware! - One word, "HORRIBLE"!! The room we were assigned was like 85 degrees when we opened the door. There was no AC, no fan, and no TV. The one piece of furniture, besides the bed was a bureau that looked like it had been picked up at a dump. it was so old and had a mirror attached to it. The picture that you are showing as an example of a room appears to have a modern dresser and TV in it. Where was that room? It took us over 30 minutes to get through to someone, and the person we spoke with said that they might have accidently turned off the AC when they were setting up the room for us. The thermostat on the wall was an old style dial, at least 30 years old, and did nothing when we moved it. The person's explanation as to why there was no TV or separate AC (they said it was central) was because the rooms were listed as rustic, They said we could look at other rooms, but we were done.
- John (10/5): - Great spot to stay in Wilmington. Located on the river with a wonderful deck to hang out on. Plus don't forget they're a brewery too!!
- Kevin (10/5): - Very cool. Loved how it's attached to a craft beer bar. And very close to some good hiking trails, a gallery and dots restaurant. There is also the Maple leaf tavern across the street
- Minturn (10/5): - This is a very unique property. It is a restaurant and music venue on the first floor and rooms on the second floor. The rooms are small but clean, cute, and comfortable. The rooms we stayed in had a wonderful view of the creek/river. I also want to acknowledge the staff...they were very responsive and kind. The town of Wilmington is fantastic - great restaurants, shops, architecture, etc.

- Sarai (10/5): - Affordable, clean stay. Check-in instructions weren't clear as to what door to use to access rooms. Central location to a variety of hiking trails in Vermont.
- Katie (6/5): - Pros: Good location near to Mt Snow, responsive host when issues come up, clean, bar downstairs with a fire is nice, pretty views over the river and v close to a few nice restaurants in the town. Not so good: Uncomfortable - quite rough sheets and hard bed, v thin walls and could be quite loud from bar downstairs and people and cars on the road outside (check if there's an event on!), no reserved guest parking so could be hard to find a nearby space early-evening (but fine all other times), Fine for a few nights stay but overall just a bit expensive for what it was.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value for your money! - Great value for your money - close to Mt Snow, has a great space downstairs if you're looking for pizza and beer. Rooms are small but comfortable. The only thing would be nicer if the shower was bigger.
- Joseph (10/5): - The Valley Craft Ales is a great location. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The location is convenient, right in the town of Wilmington. It is walkable to a number of restaurants and bars. Mt. Snow is 15 minutes up the road and the Moo-ver is a great way to get there. VCA also has great beer and pizza right down stairs along with live music occasionally.
- Hannah (10/5): Cozy - It's a lovely place the location is perfect and the brewery downstairs is great. You can walk to other bars and restaurants and there are gift shops in the town. The rooms were a perfect affordable place to stay when skiing at mount snow. The rooms are not fancy but it did exactly what we needed. The staff were great and the building has so much history. It was built in 1820s. Clean too
- Hannah Blair (4/5): Lost a little something - We have stayed here several times when itbwas the Red Mill Inn. The owners were charming and would tell stories of the town and the history of the building. Now, there is a bar and pizzaria which is great, but there is no one to check you in or out. It is all done digitally. The fireplace is not lit. The whole Inn sode of the lobby looks deserted and filled with clutter. We only knew where to go because we had been there before. The hominess has left with the old owners. They were missed and we will probably not stay again. Also, all of the small televisions had been removed so there was literally nothing in the room but a bed, an empty dresser, and a nightstand.
