Guest Reviews
- Julie (10/5): Best B&B ever visited - gorgeous house, gorgeous breakfast and wonderful hosts. - Loved this traditional Scottish B&B. Rooms were very comfortable, beds and bedding lovely, equipped with everything you might need. The fridge on the landing including fresh milk was a great plus, as was the use of a gorgeous traditional lounge with log burner. Breakfast choice was fantastic and didn't disappoint on the execution but the absolute highlight was the hosts Thomas and Ben, so great to engage in the Scottish banter from Thomas. So pleased we got to stay here on our road trip and meet these lovely hosts - best B&B ever visited! Good luck for the future guys. Don't be silly.
- Chris (10/5): Absolutely wonderful stay—and would return if ever again in the area. - What an absolutely lovely stay we had at this B & B! The house has such character and charm and our room was very comfortable. The breakfast was quite delicious and the choices offered were much more extensive than other places we’ve stayed. Perhaps the best parts, however, were our hosts. We so enjoyed talking with Thomas and Ben. They were also very attentive and extremely helpful with addressing any needs we had, including providing suggestions for outings and dining adventures, calling restaurants to ensure we could get a table. Highly recommended!! No complaints.
- Claudia (10/5): - Thomas und Ben waren hervorragende Gastgeber. Immer freundlich, humorvoll und aufmerksam.
Das Frühstück war außergewöhnlich reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich.
Das Zimmer war komfortabel und gut ausgestattet.
Es war sehr ruhig und erholsam.
- Gina (10/5): Outstanding B&B in a beautiful corner of Scotland. - Lovely comfortable and exceptionally clean room in a fabulous Victorian B&B. The breakfast was amazing and the hosts incredibly friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.
- Chris (8/5): Generally wonderful - Great location and staff. Nice size.
Great to have soft and more firm pillows We were simply too warm when sleeping. Couldn’t really cool off room by opening window. But noisy.
- Stephen (6/5): - The Breakfast Location, everything in the Town was closed
- Adrianna (10/5): Our best stay in Scotland - Guest house has an incredibly cosy, warm atmosphere. Everything was spotlessly clean, and interiors were very pretty. The best advantage of this place is Thomas, though. He is very nice and kind, welcomed us, showed us around, recommended attractions, roads, and things to do. He was always ready to help.
Honestly, during our road trip through Scotland, I felt the Scottish atmosphere here the most, and it was our best stay.
Ps. They serve the best breakfasts here!!
- Aamir (10/5): Perfect stay - What an incredible stay. The host is a proud Scot with impeccable local knowledge, a great person to converse with, an excellent chef, and extremely attentive having thought through every detail. The house itself is a stunning historic building, with just the right amount of modernisation.
- Ged (10/5): -
Gerne jederzeit wieder!
- John (10/5): A lovel6 place to stay for our three nights! Excellent hosts! - The hosts Ben & Thomas were very pleasant, attentive and offered very good advice in relation to day trips and places to visit etc Nothing really.
- Laural (10/5): Perfection. - Incredible experience, bar none. I highly recommend time here if visiting the Highlands. Both Thomas and Ben worked tirelessly to ensure out every need was met and desire exceeded. The food is excellent, the property charming and pristine and the location was perfect, walking distance to shopping and restaurants while maintaining a small town, intimate feel. Thomas was so accommodating and full of knowledge with a great sense of humor. Ben was warm and welcoming at all times. I have been gone only half a day and I already miss them both so much. Really feel t like I was important and I walked away with a really lovely sense of Scotland and the people there. There wasn’t a darn thing!
- Angela (10/5): Must stay here! - Fabulous hosts, tasty breakfast and comfy bed
- Jerry Shuster (9/5): Super house, super people. - The house itself is gorgeous and the owners are both friendly and helpful. Despite being just off a main road, you can't hear any traffic and coming back in the evening to a lit fireplace is just amazing. Nothing comes to mind.
- Ged (10/5): Little gem, big host. - Great banter with Thomas, genuinely lovely guy not just a host but a friend. Couldn't have made us more at home, food was spot on, but to much!, and he arranged places to eat for us. Nothing
- Murray (10/5): A truly restful place to stay, comfy beds and pillows, quiet, too short. - Room was lovely with views to mountains, ensuite was quite large. Tea & coffee with biscuits and a treat. Had a great choice for breakfast and everything we had was delicious. There is a spacious lounge can use. Hosts were great and went above & beyond in suggesting places to visit and helping to book for dinners. Wonderful place to stay. Parking easy, a short walk to town Everything was great
- Graeme (10/5): -
- Marilyn (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - I loved everything about RossMor - excellent hosts, beautiful old house, very comfortable room and delicious home made breakfast. Thomas and Ben make you feel very welcome. Nothing
- David (10/5): - The wonderful welcome we received and the friendly, helpful approach from our hosts made our stay at RossMor very special. Our room was gorgeous, and the breakfasts were superb. RossMor is a beautiful home with a warm, relaxed atmosphere. It is a short walk to local cafes and restaurants. Grantown on Spey is a delightful village with everything a visitor needs, and yet without the tourist numbers that crowd out other towns and villages nearby. We highly recommend RossMor, as a base for exploring Speyside and surrounding areas, and we will be back.
- Natalie (10/5): Comfortable stay in a quaint location. - Everything was as advertised. The stay was a treat and the breakfast was delicious and generous. Scrambled eggs with leeks were my favourite. Good restaurant recommendations and super helpful with making the reservations for us too. Thank you Thomas! Nothing more I could ask for.
- Chris (10/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): A great place to stay. Brilliant host, super comfortable room and an amazing breakfast, including the tastiest porridge - Fabulous building full of character and history, balanced against modern, functional facilities. Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): - Thomas and Ben were wonderful and warm hosts and gave us great tips for our excursions. The breakfast was very tasty and our room was large, clean and lovingly furnished. We would come back any time! Thank you!
- Andreas (10/5): - Thomas and Ben make you feel very welcome and at home from the very first moment you enter their home. Our room (3) was fantastic - as was anything from the breakfast menu, which is absolutely fantastic! Thomas gave us very good and helpful advice on where to dine or what to do in the Cairngorms. He is welcoming, warm-hearted, and very much fun to be with and talk to. We cherished every minute at RossMor - and we‘ll definitiv be back ASAP.
- John (10/5): It was like home from home. Better with not having to cook breakfast. Thank you Thomas & Ben - The location was good. Not far for shops, very quiet and very nice garden and good sitting areas for you to enjoy. Breakfast excellent. Cooked fresh for you at the time you requested. Owner (staff) were a pleasure to meet, was very helpful and attentive, but not overpowering. We had an excellent stay would recommend Rossmor highly. Nothing most welcome. good rooms and excellent service.
- Gertraud (10/5): Here you are guest, not just a number - Here you are guest, not just a number.
Sehr gepflegtes traumhaftes Haus.
Thank you Thomas and Ben
Many greetings from Gerti and Jörg ------
- Ester (9/5): Prachtige accommodatie op loopafstand van Grantown on Spey. Heerlijk ontbijt!
- Pamela (10/5): Rossmor Bed and Breakfast is a welcoming place to stay on a beautiful property. - Thomas went out of his way to meet our needs while respecting our privacy. He made a dinner reservation for us for both nights we stayed there. He also gave me advice when planning my route to different places. The breakfasts were amazing; tea or coffee, porridge, a bowl of cut up fruit, fresh yogurt, homemade granola, and an egg dish. They were culinary masterpieces. I really would like the recipe for the leek dish I had. Our room was comfortable and clean. We were on vacation for 20 days and RossMor Bed and Breakfast was a favorite of ours and I would recommend highly. I enjoyed talking to Thomas and Ben. Nothing.
- Antti (10/5): -
- Markus (10/5): Tolle Unterkunft in schöner Umgebung - Tolles viktorianisches Haus, grossartiges Frühstück, sehr netter Gastgeber. Schöner Garten. Wir haben uns äußerst wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank für die guten (Restaurant)Tipps. Nichts
- Victoire (10/5): Would come back in an instant. - Everything about RossMor was fantastic: The best breakfast we had in Scotland, the comfortable and spacious room, the beautiful garden and especially Thomas, who made our stay fun and memorable and helped us out with lots of ideas for our hikes.
- Irina (10/5): We loved it!
We already said it in the guestbook, but I'm happy to repeat myself here: Thank you so much for your hospitality and entertaining conversations, Thomas. During the rest of our trip through Scotland, we had porridge and berries for breakfast every morning and always shouted ‘hothothot’ to each other and thought of you! You're great!
Kind regards,
Bärbel and Irina
- Donald (10/5): - Thomas was a superb host
- Christine (10/5): Fantastic property, clean, tidy and hosts that couldn’t do enough for you. Great choice for breakfast, something for eve - Great hosts, fantastic location Nothing not to like.
- Ronald (10/5): -
- Sebastian (10/5): Excellent! - We enjoyed our stay! Thomas is an exceptional host and we really benefited from his personal recommendations for the area / restaurants etc. Breakfast is great and the place (and of course the owners) make you feel very “landlordy”. Very nice and we would love to come back!
- Brinda (10/5): Perfect Scottish experience with delicious homemade breakfast! - Our stay at RossMor was absolutely amazing—the perfect Scottish getaway! We were a big family of seven, booked into two rooms. From the moment I made the reservation, Thomas, the owner, was incredibly helpful and communicative. I messed up the room count for my brother’s family, but Thomas kindly accommodated my 9-year-old nephew for a small fee and had an extra bed ready in no time. When we arrived, he took the time to chat with each of us, sharing fantastic recommendations for things to do nearby, all of which were spot-on. He even went out of his way to make dinner reservations for us in Grantown-on-Spey, which was such a thoughtful touch. The highlight, though, was Thomas’s homemade Scottish breakfast—fresh, hearty, and absolutely delicious. Plus, his great sense of humor made every moment even more enjoyable. Meeting Thomas and staying at RossMor was truly a delight! One small downside was having to carry our suitcases up two floors. That said, it’s understandable since RossMor is a charming, historic Scottish house, and there’s likely little that can be done about it.
- Trine (10/5): -
- Andrius (10/5): Unique house, great host, good value stay - Very well maintained, clean and comfortable stay in 150-year old house with spirit. Thomas is a wonderful host, helped us to book dinner nearby. The location is very convenient. Delicious breakfast, all was exceptionally good!
- AnnB (10/5): Fantastic B&B, highly recommended - Everything! The house, Thomas our host, breakfast, the garden, the location....all fantastic Nothing!
- Jannicke (10/5): We had a very nice two day stay at Rossmor. - The location was good- near Aviemore and Cairngorm national park. The room was comfortable and nicely furnished. The breakfast was very good and with fresh homemade bread who could complain. Excellent fruit salad and wonderful prepared scrambled eggs. The only problem was we ate too much the first morning. Thomas was a great host. He gave good advice about hikes in the the area and recommended restaurants in Grantown.
- Marianne (10/5): Een top logement - We received a fantastic welcome from Thomas. He's an enthusiastic man who goes above and beyond to make his guests feel comfortable. We received tips for excursions and walks, as well as great places for dinner. Thomas even offered to book a table at the restaurant we wanted to eat at. It's a B&B with a very cozy and warm atmosphere. Beautiful surroundings and a garden where you can enjoy the peace and quiet. The breakfast is delicious and freshly prepared. The rooms are spotless.
We will definitely return when we are in the area. Highly recommended.
Niets. Alles was super.
Everything was OK. No complains at all.
- Gurung (8/5): -
- Ian (10/5): Great place to stay in Granton-on-Spey - Our 3 night stay at RossMor was extremely relaxed and comfortable, and we would definitely return. The house was beautiful and our room had a large, comfy four-poster bed, plenty of space, and great facilities.
The breakfast choice was exceptional and each one was done to perfection.
Thomas was helpful and generous, taking the time to recommend places to visit.
In our opinion he could write the manual on how to run a fantastic B&B. N/a
- Peter (10/5): An absolutely outstanding B&B, well-located, worth staying longer if you can - RossMor was an absolutely delightful Bed & Breakfast - clean, homely, comfy, quiet, and a short walk from the centre of Grantown-on-Spey. The breakfast part of the B&B was outstanding - a wide menu choice featuring seasonal produce, cooked to order, and served with aplomb. Our on-site hosts, Ben and Thomas, went out of their way to look after us and helpfully suggested local highlights we must see and experience. Nothing could have been better.
- Graham (10/5): Could not have been better - Thomas is a brilliant host and his recommendations of things to do and places to eat was so helpful.
The guest house is in a great location and the facilities are excellent, including an exceptionally comfortable bed.
The choice on the breakfast menu was amazing with many items home made. Everything we had to eat for breakfast during our stay was fantastic. Absolutely nothing!
- Tina (10/5): - Sehr freundlicher Empfang.
- John (9/5): Excellent two days spent here whilst walking the Speyside Way - Excellent breakfast with a wide choice.
- Rense Boersma (9/5): - Mooie ligging
Niks
- Stuart (10/5): The fisherman - Excellent location, close to restaurants and amenities. Big rooms, very clean and Thomas was an excellent host.
Thomas called restaurants to book them, gave us advise about the area and attended to our needs. Breakfast was really good and there was a large variety of options available.
We were fishing the Spey, the hotel is 2 mins away so it was perfect.
We will definitely return!!! Nothing

- Bianca Felske (10/5): The perfect place to stay - Rossmor is simply a dream. The house is beautiful. The spaces are cozy. The view is spectacular. Breakfast is prepared with such care and has such amazing flavors that words can't describe it. Every detail shows thoughtfulness and care. The rooms are gorgeous. The service is wonderful. Thomas is an incredible person — loving, kind, joyful — and makes everyone feel completely at ease and comfortable. Every minute of the stay is worth it. I will come back again and again. When you're thinking about where to stay, don't hesitate: Thomas, Ben, and Rossmor are the right choice! There’s absolutely nothing I could say against my stay — it was perfect! Every request, every question I had was met with so much care, kindness, and attention. I’m deeply grateful for all of Thomas’s incredible help and hospitality!
- Jack (10/5): - An absolutely beautiful property inside and out, with stunning furniture that’s fascinating to look at. We had a 4 poster bed that was very comfortable and the size of the room was generous.
It’s perfectly located to walk into the town, and then little more than a 20min drive away from the vast majority of what you may want to do in the North Cairngorms.
Thomas the host is brilliant! Always looking to be helpful, hilarious, and cooked a homemade breakfast with fresh local ingredients. The best salmon and eggs I’ve ever had. Genuinely nothing.
- Trevor (9/5): Loved this place - Great, comfortable room. Great breakfast. Great host. Friendly welcoming attentive always helpful with local knowledge of anything you happen to be interested in. Highly recommend

- Philip (10/5): A thoroughly enjoyable stay, and we hope to return - Excellent choice of breakfast, spoilt for choice, and that was without going for a large cooked breakfast. High quality and varied choice, tasted delicious every day.
Room, large and spacious and very comfortable. Owner very cheerful & friendly
- Rachel (10/5): Fabulous stay and highly recommend! - What a delightful stay we had at Rossmor Guest House! It was hard to leave. The location allowed us to walk everywhere: into town, to dinner both nights, and to a variety of local walking trails. Breakfast was delicious, with multiple options, and the hosts provided recommendations for fantastic dinner places and fun things to do in the area. The room was spacious yet cozy, with all the necessary amenities, strong hot shower, and a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Our hosts were welcoming and warm and we thank them for such an enjoyable stay!
- Debbie (10/5): Truly wonderful stay - After not having taken a holiday or weekend break for the past five years, we finally decided to go on a short getaway to Nethybridge to visit an elderly relative. We chose to stay at the RossMor Bed & Breakfast and were absolutely thrilled with our experience. Thomas greeted us at the door with a warm smile and showed us to our cosy, comfortable room. We selected our breakfast preferences and were left to enjoy our stay in peace.
The next morning, we came down for breakfast, and although I've had many delicious breakfasts before, nothing compared to this. Everything was made with locally sourced ingredients, served on a hot plate, and accompanied by Thomas’s signature smile. Ben also stopped by to say hello and later offered us more tea, coffee, or toast.
RossMor is truly a well-oiled, impeccably run establishment. We will definitely be returning. If you're considering staying in the area, make the RossMor Bed & Breakfast your top choice—the hosts are simply wonderful.
- Karyn (8/5): Friendly and relaxed but with classy style - Fab breakfast - individually cooked and just perfect
- Pauline (10/5): - De mooie kamers in het prachtige huis. De vriendelijke gastheer. Het ontbijt. De bedden. Niets!!
- Sheila (9/5): One of the best B & B's I've stayed in. - The breakfast was excellent as was the welcome we received. Nothing was too much bother . Our hosts made sure we had a relaxing, comfortable time .Their guidance with regards places to eat and visit was appreciated
- Alex B. (10/5): Exceptional B&B - We stayed at the beginning of our three week Scotland trip at RossMor, and what a start it was! Ben and Thomas are fantastic hosts and do everything to make you feel right at home. The house and the room is very comfortable and spotlessly clean, and all is perfectly organized. The breakfast is simply fantastic, lots of different options, everything is always freshly made for your specific breakfast time and of high quality. We never had better breakfast than here.
The guest house is conveniently located at one end of Grantown-on-Spey and the centre of town can be reached easily on foot. Parking is available behind the house, although it requires some skill to maneuver in small spaces (which is not unusual in Scotland). We also received great recommendations for places to eat and things to do!
Our explicit thanks again to Ben and Thomas for the warm hospitality and our conversations. We enjoyed our time very much! We can absolutely recommend to stay at RossMor for a visit in Speyside and the Cairngorms! We hope to come back! That we only stayed four nights...

- Julia (10/5): Lovely house in the heart of beautiful nature - Lovely house in the heart of beautiful nature. The interior, the garden, everything is done with taste and close attention to the smallest detail. Extremely clean and comfortable. Very, very delicious breakfast! The living room with a lit fireplace that warms you after a cold day, the books, the landscape paintings by a local artist create warm and inviting atmosphere. Comfort, tranquility and feeling of home. Thomas is an wonderful and welcoming host!
- Andreas (10/5): - Das Frühstück ist hervorragend.
- Jane (10/5): The RossMor House has a place in our hearts for its graciousness. - Thomas and Ben have created a welcoming and relaxing environment. They are thoughtful of what guests might need and go the extra mile to accommodate. Thomas’ genuine love of hosting and knowledge of the area made our stay special. There wasn’t anything to not like.
- Richard (10/5): Awesome B&B, highly recommend!! - Thomas was a wonderful host, very entertaining & informative. Our room was immaculate, breakfast amazing & RossMor is conveniently located. On the day our clothes got soaked in the rain, Thomas graciously dried them out in his “drying room” and we were good to pack them. One of our favorite B&B’s of all time!
- Paul (10/5): Wonderful place to stay. - Excellent in every way. Comfortable bed, great choice for breakfasts and lovely food. Spacious and attractive room. Hosts are great, helpful and able to suggest places to visit and for evening meals. Nothing to note.
- Heather (10/5): A beautiful house in a lovely location with lovely hosts. - What a beautiful house, in a lovely location, with excellent facilities and a very warm welcome.
The breakfast was as good as you would get anywhere in Scotland. There was nothing about our visit that we didn’t like.

- Libran (10/5): Wonderful guesthouse in Grantown-on-Spey, - Everything was excellent! The guest house is close to town, there is parking available. The avocado and tomato on olive toast was wonderful! Nothing - everything was fabulous
Also "very britisch".
- Justine (10/5): A touch of luxury in a charming B&B with a lovely host & beautiful gardens. - Charming B&B in a beautiful location. Nothing
- Muchen (10/5): -
- Elaine (10/5): All the comforts of home! - Super comfy bed and well appointed room. Friendly and helpful hosts. Breakfast was fantastic, and we loved the area! Parking is a bit of a challenge
- Ian (10/5): Perfect break with great hosts and immaculate room, and amazing breakfast. - Breakfast was amazing. All freshly prepared.
Location central and great base for touring the highlands.
- Karen (10/5): Beautiful house, great location, wonderful breakfasts and extremely helpful hosts - Rossmor B&B is located at the quiet end of the Main Street , easy to walk to dinner or drive to explore the countryside. There was ample easy parking and a beautiful garden to relax in and a bird feeder outside the breakfast room. The hour an old Victorian , came complete with original skeleton keys. Thomas welcomed us and made dinner suggestions and reservations for us as well as recommending good walks and activities. Our room was very large on the top floor and had the most comfortable beds we have experienced in Scotland. Lots of pillows and good quality soaps. Then there was breakfast. No end of choice. Our favourites were the scrambled eggs on leeks on toast and a wonderful fruit salad. The kippers were delicious and came with instructions from Thomas on the correct way to debone the fish.
We enjoyed talking with Thomas and appreciated his dry wit. All in all a wonderful stay. Only that we didn’t stay longer
Nichts!
- James (8/5): Close to where we wanted to be in the Cairngorms. - Breakfast was excellent. Everything was fine.
