• Lisa (9/5): - Das Zimmer war schön und geräumig. Die Lage in der Nähe von Rye war super. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen. Das Frühstück war lecker und gut organisiert. Unser Zimmer lag direkt an der Straße, deshalb war es etwas laut aber kein Minuspunkt Wert ;)

• shelly (10/5): Great comfortable clean B&B in lovely location. - Lovely B&B with wonderful host! Our room was comfortable and well equipped, bathroom spacious and shower hot. The location is convenient for getting to lots of lovely walks ( we came in the car) and local places of interest. I specified a gluten free breakfast and was amply provided for. Our host was super kind and friendly. Price was very reasonable. Would definatly recommend. (Campsite looked great - Hare & Hounds is perfect for family or group of campers and non campers) all good.

• Victoria (8/5): Great Shepherd Hut stay near beautiful Rye - Great location, just outside Rye. Easy booking, easy check in. Pet friendly. Shepherds Hut was as described and we had a lovely relaxing stay. Plan to return, our friend has booked a summer stay on our recommendation. It cannot be helped, was aware of road noise at night. Would be nice to have the hut away from the main area but understand limitations in doing so. Sink in bathroom was a little small but again fully understood due to size of hut. We had a lovely stay, very positive and would return.

• Julie (10/5): We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hare and Hounds, we definitely recommend - and have done. - The room was both spacious and comfortable and very easy to access from the carpark. The shower was a lovely size and everywhere was very clean. Breakfast with perfect with everything that we required. We were very happy with everything, but if pushed to suggest any slight improvement it would be bigger bath towels.

We stayed in one of their rooms which was well equipped with all the basics .. Breakfast was a limited with choices but was pleasant enough . Better quality pillows and towels and the mattress was lumpy so an upgrade in those areas would make it much more comfortable .. plus the tv remote didn’t work properly..

• Amarjit (7/5): Decent enough stay - Location. Very small hut Good car parking but very muddy track to the hut so a bit difficult in the dark and with two dogs and no where really to wipe down. Very small shower im 5,5 height and size 12 so v small for me. No gates to hut or between hut/campsite and car park or between car park and main road so quite dangerous incase dogs run off. Couldn’t let dogs off for a wee had to take them on lead and walk through the mud. Nice quiet hut though with lovely views. Small point but loose sugar and teabags that could’ve been there ages and no milk. Dirty sink and shower plug holes. All above

• Kathryn (5/5): Nice hut but could do with some adjustments. - The hut and location are generally fine. The property page said "superb breakfast at the property". It was not until we received an email from the property after booking that we realised that the Shepherds Hut does not include breakfast. The owners must be aware that this happens because of their email. No tea, coffee or millk. The bed was a very small double and so not very comfortable. The lighting wasn't good enough to read in the evening. The bathroom wash basin is too tiny for washing. The heating remote control was missing and it was not obvious how to operate the heating.

• Dent (10/5): Lovely stay for a couple of nights in the shepherds hut - The shepherds hut was very cosy . So warm even during cold night. We would have loved to light the wood burner but it was so warm without it we didn't. It was private and had everything we needed for a short stay . Nothing really not to like.

• Patricia (10/5): Great B&B - Harriet was amazingly welcoming and made us feel so welcome when we arrived, really friendly and every morning so bright and cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable about area. Can't thank her enough for making us feel so welcome. Room was lovely size clean and everything we needed for a few days away. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends if ever going to Rye. There wasn't anything not to like. Apart from our own personal preference of a choice of fruit and or yoghurt as well as toast and cereal for breakfast but that's as I said our personal preference as myself and my.friend I was with are not ones for a cooked breakfast everyday. • Margaret (9/5): Lovely comfortable stay -recommended - Friendly welcome, good sized room with plenty of storage. Looked like had been refurbished recently, good walk in shower. Breakfast plentiful, preorder cooked the night before. Cereals/toast/OJ available as well. Our room was at the back of the annex and had a secure garden for dogs to roam in which is great. Highly recommend for a stay. Because of the campsite at the rear of the property, Fridge/Freezer/microwave and washing up facilities are also available and useful. On a fairly busy road which can be noisy at night if you have the window open. (Internal glazing is there to keep the noise out if you are ok with the window closed).

• Madeleine (10/5): Wonderful stay with spotless rooms, great breakfast and truly caring hosts - We had a wonderful stay – the room and bathroom were spotless, breakfast was delicious and the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. I injured myself on the first day and they supported me in such a caring way that we were able to continue our journey without any problems. We felt very well taken care of and can highly recommend this place!

• Ian_Young (9/5): An enjoyable stay in high quality accommodation in a very attractive area. - The booking arrangements were very efficient, with a very warm welcome on arrival and good advice on the local area. The room was very comfortable and of a high standard with very good facilities. Breakfast was very good indeed, provided in an attractive room of character. Occasional passing traffic outside but this had little impact on a restful stay.

Great breakfast and friendly hosts . The bathroom mirror did have its own light .Very good value for money . Our room was on a busy road . Personally I found the bathroom was too dark with dark grey flooring and dark walls. It might help if the main light had a brighter bulb in it instead of an energy efficient bulb . The shower temperature was difficult to regulate.

• Annabel (9/5): Casalingo, confortevole e luminoso. - Ambiente sereno, accoglienza molto amichevole e camera pulita con arredamento piacevole. L’host ci ha consigliato una strada alternativa meravigliosa per raggiungere la città durante il giorno, attraversando prati e fattorie, grazie! 🐑 La stanza della colazione era molto carina, ma il cibo proposto potrebbe essere di qualità migliore. Il servizio di autobus purtroppo termina molto presto, quindi se si esce a cena in città si è costretti a raggiungere il B&B a piedi (in assenza di mezzi propri). Nessun servizio taxi è stato disponibile per noi, ma forse siamo solo stati sfortunati!

• Kelly (10/5): Wonderful! - Harriet was incredibly accommodating to us and our needs. So friendly and polite! The B&B was clean, comfortable, and spacious! We loved every moment of our stay here! It came with breakfast included, which was hearty and fresh! When we visit Rye again for an overnighter, we will book this place again in a heartbeat! • Katja (10/5): Schönes Zimmer in guter Lage - Sehr schönes Zimmer in der Nähe von Rye, an einen Campingplatz angeschlossen. Liegt zwar an einer etwas befahrenen Straße, das hat uns aber nicht gestört. Ausstattung, Gestaltung und Lage waren für uns prima. Auch draußen konnte man wunderbar sitzen. Frühstück war sehr gut, auch immer mit einem netten Gespräch mit der wahnsinnig freundlichen Gastgeberin Harriet. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Nichts.

Harriet was a great host and couldn’t do enough for us to make our stay special. Good location. Good bus route in to Rye. Excellent breakfast. Slight difficulty with working the shower to begin with but Harriet helped us. Personal preference only but would have liked firmer pillows.
