- Bernadette (8/5): A, WARM WELCOME IN COLDSTREAM - The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and accommodating - special mention to Robin and the kitchen staff; our room was neat, and beds comfortable. The hotel decor could do with some updating but the warmth of the folk more than made up for that. Parking for the car was just at the back of the hotel and was very handy. Evening meal was tasty and we were helped further again the next morning by getting a takeaway breakfast toastie ( instead of sitting in the dining room)
so we could promptly head off on our long journey home đ The stairs up to the room were troublesome for my husband who has back issues (we were helped up and down with our luggage though by the very accommodating staff)

- Rick (8/5): - Very friendly staff, helpful and nice food
- Nick (8/5): Good value stay with friendly staff and great breakfast - Friendly service, good portions and well cooked and served - very good Scottish breakfast Storage for bikes could have been better - ok but space was cluttered and there was a risk of some broken glass on floor. It was, however, secure and we were well looked after
- Jean (5/5): -
- Andrew (7/5): Adequate but basic - Breakfast and staff No window in bedroom
- Denise (8/5): A comfortable stay lovely host and staff - Breakfast was amazing Extension leads .poor room layout for kettle. Perhaps change the bathmat.
- John (4/5): Bedroom quite clean. Would have been unacceptable for anything other than a brief overnight stay. - Breakfast reasonable. Position okay for passing through Coldstream. There was no outside window in the bedroom! No evening meal. Wouldn't have wished to stay for a second night.

- Paul (8/5): Comfortable and convenient - Atmosphere and history
- Beverley (5/5): Disappointed - Food was good. Kitchen and waitress staff were friendly. Decor was dated. Room in attic had very steep flight of stairs. Bathroom was tatty.
- Susie (10/5): Very pleasant stay - Friendly, welcoming host - Comfortable, spacious room with complementary toiletries, tea, coffee and biscuits. Delicious breakfast cooked to order Looks a bit questionable from the outside in the dark ( we were pleasantly surprised when we got inside ) looks like just a pub from the outside.
- Stuart (9/5): -
- Elaine (9/5): Welcome and comfortable - Very welcoming, especially as we turned up late. It took us a while to find it .
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Melanie (8/5): Very comfortable, enjoyable and affordable - The breakfast was amazing, staff were so friendly and attentive. They made us feel very welcome and looked after. Planning on returning soon Canât really fault anything. Itâs an old building so the bathroom was not very modern but this is part of its charm. Very nostalgic and reminded me of childhood holidays in a very traditional pub/hotel

- Stephen (9/5): A good place to stay . - A full cooked breakfast. Friendly staff. Excellent location. Parking. Clean and tidy . En suite loo with a sliding door. I hate the lack of privacy! But that is just me, and a small price to pay for a very reasonable stay. Would happily stay again.

- John (7/5): Good - Good breakfast
Good location Road noise outside
- Julie (8/5): Lovely place to stay value for money would definitely stay again - Lovely clean place, staff were so friendly really made us welcome, appreciated the fan in the room as it was warm Ate in the bar for evening meal there was a rowdy bunch in there they were very loud the bar staff quickly told them they couldnât have anymore drinks and dealt with the situation but it did make us feel uncomfortable

- Christina (10/5): Best place to stay - Staff at hotel where really friendly room and bed very clean the breakfast was amazing
All locals very friendly
- Terence (7/5): - Excellent breakfast Attic room facing main street with very noisy heavy lorries passing at all hours.
- Christine (1/5): Awful. Booked for three but checked out after one. - Full breakfast was available but we, but we only had cereal and toast. The approach to and into the building was grubby and tired. When we checked in, it was in a junk room. When we were shown to our room , it didnât improve. Tea and coffee etc were supplied, but we had to plug the kettle in , in a plug socket on the floor as no way flex would reach to socket. The TV was plugged in via an extension lead, with another plug socket dangling nearby . Couldnât watch TV as only one uncomfortable chair, and bed faced opposite way to the TV. Bulging areas in ceiling were bodged up. We could pull the blind down in the window, but no way to pull it back up. The only mirror in the room was one small one .
- david (10/5): A very memerable stay with staff making us feel very welcome. - Amazing 3 night stay. The location, room, staff and food was excellent.
The bar ambience also very friendly with great staff & regulars making you feel very welcome. Nothing to dislike
- ricky (9/5): Excellent, food excellent, staff excellent. - Excellent staff. Very helpful. Excellent breakfast and food. Clean and tidy
- Mark (8/5): -
- Flockhart (8/5): - We were made so very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for any of the Owners/Staff. A homely tradition Inn , lots of character. The food stood out from any crowd, Steaks and Burgers rival anywhere for quality and flavour, the Breakfast no exception. The single beds need replacing, on the springy side. The kitchen smells are slightly overwhelming in the bedroom (4) , but this is constructive.
- John (5/5): - Food was good and tbe owner very freindly gentleman We had booked table for 2 for dinner when we arrived i tryed to confirm and met the rudist women ever very unwelcoming basicly saod no for dinner as she had 10 booked that day offered to rush us in at 545 we were ruahed into choosing from menu we had pllaned for nice steak dinner was really took aback with this womens attitude definetly dont stay here again

- wayne (10/5): For a night or 2 away within a couple of hours drive from home it was a good choice - The staff. Every one of them was so friendly Location was good
- Larrainec (9/5): Felt like a local, very friendly. - The atmosphere was friendly, dinner was delicious, staff exceeded themselves, very interactive and welcoming. Location was great. Quaint little village. Meals and atmosphere

- Lynn (1/5): Fire officer needs to visit - The lady on check in The room was unsafe. Located at the top of the hotel, the only staircase, only way out, where the main door of the room had more than an inch space at the bottom. If there was a fire, I dread to think of the outcome
I left as I would never have slept. No contact from the hotel even though my issue was raised with them. No apology. Obviously dont care as long as they get the money.
Still waiting for a refund.
- David (5/5): Ok for what we needed. - Staff, location, breakfast. The room had dampness concerns.
- Cameron (10/5): -
- marc (8/5): Pleasant, but room for improvement with customer service - Breakfast was good. Staff could have asked if everything was okay and if we would like anything else. For example no toast was offered. The pub was full of drinkers and there was no where to eat a meal as advertised and no alternative offered
- andrew (9/5): - It was ideal for our needs food room staff all top rate Nothing
- Benjamin Alan (8/5): - For the money the hotel was fine.Nice people good breakfast but bedrooms in need of update.
- Brian (10/5): - Great place to stay second time we've been here and been fantastic.
The steak was amazing well worth a visit just for that alone
- Peter (8/5): -
- Geoffrey (7/5): Overall, satisfactory. - Good en suite. Everything clean and reasonably comfortable Room is a little small,, but, of course cost is competitive.
- Linda (8/5): Friendly stopover with good food - Comfortable bed, decent shower and good food.
Friendly staff. Our room - small with no window, no mirror, not even a picture on the wall!
- John Page (9/5): Looks like Fawlty towers but isn't. - Lovely people in a quaint setting. In some need of an update.
- James (7/5): Nice relaxing stay suited our needs - Lovely staff and great location, first class breakfast The room was cold as we where at the top of the house
- Erhard (8/5): -
- Jon (8/5): - Comfortable bed and very good breakfast. Excellent value. Could have charged an extra ÂŁ10 for the dog (everyone else does) Just details. First thing you see is a messy office. The room information was tatty ( just needs a cheap Amazon laminator) A bit of info about the area would have been good. Banged my leg on the sharp edge of the bed. Kettle has to be placed on the floor to reach the plug....Really just easily fixed details
- Vivienne (3/5): -
- Carmel (10/5): - Friendly staff, great breakfast.
- schlagintweit (7/5): - Breakfast, central location, pool table. Saggy beds.
- Geoff (8/5): Coldstream stay - The bar was reasonably priced good stock , breakfast was tasty, staff were friendly and helpful The bedroom was a bit bare , a few pictures on the walls would've brightened up the walls , halls and landings were modernised
- john (7/5): - Staff and food. Rooms would benefit from upgrading
- Tim (9/5): Great place for a relaxed night. People in the bar made it for us - Itâs a warm cosy clean place. Staff are beyond just good. Good in the bar (and breakfast) is great. Car park. Spot on! Canât complain about anything. Wouldnât want to get to carried away in the bed in our room - but squeaky đ
- Julie (8/5): - Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable suited our needs. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Deborah (8/5): - Great breakfast easy parking very nice staff
- Ian (8/5): Just the ticket! - Freshly cooked A case stand would have been useful
- Richard (9/5): A great place to stay. - The location is great. The scenery and history of Coldstream is amazing. The hotel is central and the food, beer and staff are very good and friendly. Nothing
- Smith (1/5): - Staff were friendly Should have been told in advance that there was a party for 60 people down the corridor from our room and that there may be disturbance. No food served because of party. No dogs allowed on beds and in dining area for breakfast though this was pet friendly????
We ended up having to book a last minute travel lodge (cost us another ÂŁ200.00)
and cancelled our stay as we needed a good night's sleep before travelling again.
Staff were apologetic but we ended up loosing our money..
If we had been told all this in advance we would have cancelled the room in time to get our money back.
Locals in bar weren't particularly friendly towards our dogs either and made us feel uncomfortable.
On the plus side the room although very small looked immaculately clean. Shame we couldn't enjoy it!!!!!
- Julie (7/5): Very good value for money - friendly staff, evening meal very good, The owners are doing a hotel refurb and doing a good job. Overall value for money place to stay. We had quite a small room but adequate
- nia (6/5): -
- Helga (10/5): - Friendly staff, very helpful and accommodating with special requests.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Clive (8/5): Exploration trip - A four day break exploring the local area. An old hotel in a one horse town. Excellent staff, great food and decent ale. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Traffic noise took a bit of getting used to but after a while was not an issue. Would recommend
