- Danika (10/5): - Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay, with my mum and Baba! Our room was perfect, great size, I took babies walker with me so she could potter around the room! Staff were very friendly, all chatting away to my daughter, food was lovely too I'm not sure if the smell was coming from room 64 or where but there was a funky smell in the corridor when going to/from our room

- Dormer (5/5): - We had dinner it was good , could do more on the menu lot of pizza The towels had stains on them , the bed was small not a full double, and the bathroom door had clear glass , with a light net curtin on it , not very private. Said it to receptionist she said nothing,
- Aidan (8/5): One night stay - Staff were nice, location close to town. Beds were comfy. Everything was clean No gluten free bread at breakfast, my wife is celiac. Most hotels will have gluten free options

- Frank (10/5): Glad we picked this location as we were just passing through several counties on the night. - Room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. I frequently have issues sleeping away because of health issues and this was among my best sleeps away in recent times.
We had dinner at the hotel and staff were excellent and very friendly. Breakfast was self service and the only fault is the common one of some of the food was cooked too long, as we were among the late birds to arrive for breakfast. However staff were very helpful. .

- Keith (8/5): Warm and welcoming hotel on grounds of a 13th century abbey in central Ireland - A special place in agricultural hills of central Ireland, with ruins of a 13th century Dominican abbey 200 feet away in plain view. Charming, and well visited by local residents. The restaurant and bar areas are hopping, and so fund to be around; the hotel rooms, upstairs and along a very quiet section of the hotel, seems slightly tired - old towels, faded carpets, eclectic photos - but emphasis is on "slightly" The hotel offers great value for those who want to remain an easy 2 hours' drive to Dublin Airport.
- Tracey (8/5): Great stay -

- Kevin (9/5): Nice stay quiet and clean. - In town ,easy access and clean. Staff in the hotel were very good. Nothing
- Catherine (8/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful.
Leisure facilities were good. I feel there could have been a bigger variety of healthy breakfast options... nuts, seeds, pro biotic drinks. Also amazed there was no potato or soda bread.
Hair dryers were broken in the ladies changing rooms in the Spa. There were no towels. Hair dryer was broken in the room. Kettle took forever to boil and no herbal tea in the room either.
- Patrick (7/5): Relaxing - Pool Limited options for buffet breakfast
- 925kittys (10/5): Amazing stay at The abbey hotel 😍 - Staff are fantastic 👏 👌 😀
Got an upgrade to the four poster bed when we arrived. Dinner and drinks were super, relaxing on sofa and comfortable chairs in bar. Food was good and lots of choice for vegan, gluten free etc .
We have 3 children but only baby with us ,we really wanted sleep and relaxation 😌 lovely coffee machine in room as we missed brekkie as we slept so long 😴
Room was super quiet and bed was huge 😴 😍
This is our third stay ,staff are so kind and can't do enough to make you happy
.Last time we brought the bigger kids swimming ,so its awesome to have a pool here.
The views from breakfast room are very peaceful.
Will be back many more times.x
- Kitty (10/5): Super stay - Staff are the biggest asset ,so kind and helpful.
Bed and room was lovely ,slept very well ,got an upgrade from lovely receptionist which made it a very special stay ,as its our third time coming back.
Bar is lovely ,so comfortable ,we needed the rest so much. In the suite,as you reach for tissue ,the toilet brush is right there, probably best hidden away,as its not rhe most pleasant thing .
Otherwise room is lovely and the coffee machine is great once I figured out how to use it. Maybe short instructions would help for machine.
- illuminate222 (2/5): members club only - Its not what it says on the tin, that's for sure
Not an overnight stay, just afternoon coffee, its just not even possible to explain in English how rude and hostile some of the staff are there.
Practically shout at you, and then follow you as if they think you might take a napkin or something, dreadful.
- Grant (10/5): Top place to stay if visiting Roscommon - Great place to stay if visiting Roscommon. Food fantastic and staff even better. The team do a great job of caring for you. Will be back. Hard to fault. Room and bathroom maybe needing a little tlc now but everything all worked fine.
- ivan (9/5): - Staff lovely, friendly, helpful.
Food very good, evening meal in bar excellent.
Breakfast very good.
Had to get up twice from breakfast to ask staff for sugar, and salt and pepper at breakfast as none on table though table had been pre set.
A little more attention to detail on this and would have rated excellent.
Cleanliness , chairs in bar, lounge area would need dusted, eg the wooden bits as all very dusty and very visible, dont know why this is the case as could be sorted very quickly, on this matter had this not been so noticiable would have scored as excellent. Noted above.
- Victoria (6/5): Very nice will definitely return - Food was good breakfast was good clean and tidy staff Very nice. Couldn’t do enough for you. The bed was so uncomfortable and children running up and down knocking on your doors at 10:30 11 o’clock at night with no parents to be seen
- Kevin (10/5): -
- Seamus (10/5): -
- Claudio (8/5): -
- O'Regan (2/5): - Quite run down venue, dated but not in a good way. Far too many signs.
There was a loud water sound throughout the night we stayed, which was what I would imagine water torture would resemble.
Staff were indirectly rough around the edges but ok to deal with.
When I asked if there was Netflix in the room, the receptionist laughed and commented that the tv's were for show...
Enough said.
- kukla (10/5): -
- Maura (7/5): - Food staff location Needs updating and maybe thermal spa
- Olaf (6/5): -
- Yvonne (5/5): Not brilliant - The location was very good The breakfast was not good hard fried coldish eggs hard bacon
The hotel was really busy & loud some sort of function going on
The room was tired old lampshades furniture ect
- Margaret (9/5): Very enjoyable stay, couldn’t fault it - Convenient
Staff very friendly
Nice food Nothing
- brocklehurst (8/5): Enjoyable - Good, very tasty We had separate beds when asked for a double room
- Aodhan (8/5): -
- Christopher (9/5): - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Abbey Hotel. The Hotel was very clean, comfortable & centrally located right across the road from Roscommon Train Station. It was in the perfect location to explore everything Roscommon town has to offer. The Breakfast was delicious with a little something for everyone. The Hotel was situated amongst beautiful mature grounds, with a Dominican Abbey Ruin!! I was very happy with everything!!
- Marie (8/5): - Fantastic location and breakfast was delicious with so much choice Bed was very uncomfortable
- marydR2457YM (2/5): I stayed at this hotel for one night in January.I got fined 250€ for smoking in room which I didn't do. - After query the hotel why I was charged 250€ ,they told it was for smoking in the hotel room .I was send these 2 pictures as evidence that I smoked in the room .The first picture is a fake ,a picture of a dirty table that had not been cleaned in months..I rang the hotel every day for several days to speak to the Manager.Eventually she answered my call, and kept insisting it was cigarette residue.I hung up in the end as she so ignorant and rude.I requested a chargeback on my credit card and received it after several weeks.
Got no apology from the hotel ,disgusting behaviour by this hotel .
- Conor (10/5): Fantastic - This is the 2nd time we stayed here. The hotel ticks all the boxes for us I.e, lovely staff, beautiful hotel and grounds in general, great restaurant and breakfast with muti choices. The room is spacious with a big comfy bed. N/a

- Rhona (9/5): Ok a bed n breakfast next year with a late checkout - Ideal as an Irish dance competition my daughter was entering was been held at your venue We e mailed the property multiple times looking for a late checkout and emails
Were never replied when my daughter was checking she asked as she has a epilepsy and need to get ready and take meds but the reply she got at check in was we are booked out so I cannot u der say d why they could not reply to an e mail
- Jackie Crowley (9/5): -
- Donna (10/5): -
- Patrick (5/5): - Quality and choice of breakfast was poor for standard of hotel
Rooms are dated
- Ann (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and clean rooms. Lack of onsite entertainment but having said that it was more than likely due to the bad weather as the Hotel is perfectly situated to use as a base to tour from.
- Nicola (9/5): - The staff, food and location were fab. Booked a double room but got a family room and the double bed was very small for two adults
- Lyons (1/5): STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE IF VALUE BEING WARM AND HAVING GOOD FOOD - There was no heat in the room when the staff were asked on 3 occasions to sort they were uninterested. The rooms were freezing while sitting, waiting for them to do something. They received numerous calls; it seemed like 6 or 7 rooms had the same problem. There was no management at the hotel dealing with the numerous problems. This is the second time I have been there and had a problem with the heat in this hotel. The only answer is to stay somewhere else. I have always liked gleesons and I think even though it's a guesthouse its a better choice nothing, the restaurant was poor, the steak was awful and it was handed back, even the waiter couldn't believe how bad it was
- Teresa (9/5): - Large room. Food was lovely had confirmation meal in the restaurant and couldnt fault it . Nothing

- Jacintha (6/5): Unfortunately a bit part off a night away is the food and that was very disappointing - Place was nice, staff were nice I was disappointed with the food 😞

- Catherine (10/5): Great accommodation - The Abbey Hotel is in a beautiful location. Staff were very attentive and my room was beautiful. Lovely comfy bed. Fabulous choice for breakfast. I found the room too warm for me and would have preferred the heating off. But there was air conditioning and I was able to open a window. I mentioned it to the receptionist in the morning and she said that I should have contacted them during the night. I did see the number for the night porter but I got on with it. I asked if there was accommodation to stay another night but they were booked out for the football match. Hopefully an opportunity will come up so that I can stay there again. Room was too warm for me personally.
- Harvey (8/5): -
- Mick (9/5): Friendly staff, with good food in an ideal setting - The breakfast was delivered to my room at the time i indicated and it was hot (as it should be) I wish i could have stayed longer!
- Damien (10/5): Very good - Everything very clean and friendly Nothing
- sequoia (7/5): - The location is great. Easy to access the town from the hotel. Ample parking available. Staff are friendly. No water supplied for the room. There are water fountains on each floor but they were all out of order.
- Ronan (10/5): -
- Ciara (3/5): Average overall - The property was a 10 min walk from the town Rooms and bathrooms are very very old fashioned and dated. The breakfast was very poor.
