Guest Reviews
- Peter (4/5): Nice looking hotel but I would stay elsewhere if visiting - Close to Canary Wharf for rail transport Lift was not working for the entire time I was there. The hot water in the bathroom sink was tepid which meant I had to shave with cold water mostly. The shower control is pretty much guesswork and the water was not very hot most days.
- mark (10/5): Beautiful hotel, shame about the location - The hotel is beautiful and our room was very special The location and surrounding area - it didn't feel like London at all
- Subrata (8/5): pleasant experience, helpful staff. - clean rooms, friendly staff and overall nice experience everything was good
- Constantin (10/5): -
- Riccardo (7/5): Buen alojamiento - Edificio bonito y dormitorio cómodo y agua y te en regalo Desayuno antes de las 7 complicado si tienes que irte antes
- Kathleen (9/5): - The location was excellent, very quiet but close to public transport and the rooms were beautiful and spacious
- christine (9/5): Beautiful hotel with a loverly sauna and steam room - Quiet peaceful great facilities Nothing all was good
- Anne-Laure (10/5): - Clean and comfortable rooms, helpful staff. The windows don't open, which is slightly disturbing.
- Richa (8/5): -
- Naomi (4/5): - i messaged on the whatsapp number that i was given at check in as i had an issue with thwifi code, noone came back to me.
there was no information in the room around the restaurant, times, menu etc
since returning i have been waiting a week to gain an invoice with no support
- Francesca (10/5): - Molto pulita
- Nyong (9/5): It was a nice experience though, with excellent customer service. - The location of the property was close to area of my engagement. So I spent less time and transportation cost. I dislike climbing of the stair case up the bed room and the sitting room/toilet, which were also located down the bed room.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Good hotel for after spending the evening at the O2. Easy check in and everything we needed - It’s a nice building N/a
- Charlie (4/5): Was ok - Was close to 02 arena Was not cleanest carpets where stained walls where smashed by the bedside table on both sides the double bed was 2 singles pushed together that kept splitting up
- Hiles (10/5): Lovely hotel getawat - The spa and the breakfast was really good and I enjoyed the free upgrade for my girlfriends birthday and yh it was just an Amazing experience overall Some of the kitchen staff were unhygienic at times
- Chris (10/5): 3rd visit. Never disappoints - 3rd visit. Love the comfy bed. Great breakfast. Lovely staff N/a
- James (3/5): Underwhelmed but great staff. - The front desk was professional and polite. The air conditioning worked. The saunas/steam room were turned on and hot! The pictures are definitely edited or carefully created, because the inside of the hotel it’s different. Felt a little like a hostel inside, and there was a strange smell around our room. The furniture is decorative but standard, and the shower was OK. I booked this because it looked a little more classy than the usual holiday inn we get for the O2, but it turned out to just be OK and a bed to sleep at. I know it wasn’t overly expensive but underwhelming is how I’d describe it. Area is questionable, across from a college and an abandoned nursery, it’s just convenient because it’s next to the poplar stop. Wouldn’t want to be walking around there late at night, alone, especially if I was female. Staff were really nice though. What I will say is, the sauna doesn’t open until 9.. but I’d imagine a lot of guests will want to wake up, sauna, breakfast before then, especially if they have work.
- Connor (8/5): -
- Bogdan Moraru-Dima (10/5): - Very nice location, good breakfast and comfortable beds We arrived late and couldn't find a table for having dinner
- Natalie (10/5): Peaceful, characterful property with lovely spa - Beautiful, characterful hotel in a quiet corner of Poplar, perfectly located just a few minutes walk from the DLR with frequent and quick connections to Bank and Central London. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the gym and spa were great. I loved the sauna, and my peaceful,, cosy room on the top floor with L'Occitane toiletries. The spa was a bit untidy, needs more regular cleaning and ongoing attendance – I could not find a staff member to get towels and a robe.
- Adrian (7/5): Okay - Clean & nice room Facilities & impersonal feel
- Stuart (9/5): Very good but check where can go to eat and drink before booking - Superb venue rooms great clean and tidy excellent Location is very limited unless uber or other
Not a very close selection of restaurant or pubs
- Idris (8/5): -
- Brewer (1/5): -
- Jason (10/5): - Amazing Nothing
- Maninder (8/5): Really enjoyable, very convenient and quiet- just what we needed - It was very quiet and clean the receptionist was very lovely, welcoming and friendly There is a sauna and steam room but no swimming pool. It was confusing working out the lifts to the 3rd floor but once worked out was really easy.
- Emeline (9/5): - L’emplacement et le matelas
- Malkit (4/5): Ok but would not stay again - The property is nice and grand feeling, it is clean and our room was clean. A/C didn't work properly, the room was really hot. All controls for the room are done through the TV and the system is very clunky and doesn't really work properly. Also multiple plug sockets did not work. Mirrors in the room were positioned in areas of poor lighting.
- David (6/5): -
- Justina (9/5): Little gem in east London - Great location for Canary warf and East London. Comfortable clean accommodation. Good value Nothing
- Sam (8/5): - Good location to watch the marathon. Its not near to many restaurants and bars.
- Rashid (9/5): -
- gerard (7/5): Did a job - The hotel
Looked really nice on pictures. Room was big, no guidance in how to operate anything,
Air con was right next to bed and very loud kept waking us up.
Restaurant was full of flies and crockery was stained, unmatched could be so much better.
- Attila (8/5): - Az elhelyezkedés nagyon jó, közel van minden tömeg közlekedés, csendes a környék! Az ágy nekünk túl puha volt, emiatt az alvás nem volt a legjobb, de másnak lehet hogy nem zavaró
- Ricki (10/5): -
- Phoebe (7/5): Beautiful place, good location and friendly staff - missing some elements - Beautiful building, lovely big bright rooms. Good location for Canary Wharf and short walk from transport. Staff were friendly. Lovely L’occitane toiletries in bathroom. Missing things I’d expect for the price paid:
No hairdryer in room.
Air con controlled through TV was awkward.
Stairs in hotel room with mezzanine were quite slippy.
The hotel had an event on that we weren’t made aware of - it was in the courtyard outside our hotel window and was quite noisy - the music did stop by 9:30pm but could still hear chatter for quite a while afterwards, we needed an early night so just set back our sleep a bit.
- Anne (10/5): -
- Trish (9/5): -
- Manas (10/5): I had a fantastic stay at the Lansbury Heritage Hotel. The property is beautiful, the rooms are spotless, and the atmosp - The hotel is beautifully maintained with elegant, spotless rooms and a calm boutique atmosphere. The service was exceptional, and Mr. Ernest Knox, the Duty Manager, stood out with his warm attitude, professionalism, and genuine care for guest comfort. He made the stay feel truly personalised. I didn’t encounter anything negative during my stay. Everything was smooth, comfortable, and well‑managed.
- Oli (10/5): -
- Caden (8/5): -
- Manuela (6/5): Nicht schlecht aber leider nicht wieder - Die hohen Decken und das Bett war sehr bequem Es war nicht möglich ein Fenster zu öffnen
- Sean (10/5): Lovely boutique hotel, spotless and v friendly - Very friendly and accommodating staff, the room was spotlessly clean and with many modern little luxuries. Breakfast was v good . The hotel area is ok but excellent v for money with DLR near by and only £10 uber from Brick lane
- Raphaël (9/5): -
- adrian (7/5): For £350 a night, I’ll use a different hotel next time. - Staff were pleasant, hotel is aesthetically pleasing! Location was ok for the London marathon for access in the morning, it’s just a bit of a walk from Canary Wharf which is probably further than planned Room was split on two floors so toilet / bathroom are downstairs, which is a little annoying if you need to go at night - stairs are really slippy, no idea why they aren’t carpeted as they’ve gone through the effort to put a sign up to highlight this.
- Michelle (8/5): The receptionists were excellent - I didn’t have breakfast I think I’d prefer to use stairs not lifts
- Donna (9/5): Would definitely recommend and will go back - Spotlessly clean with beautiful rooms and friendly staff. Super range of breakfast goods.
- Joe (7/5): -
- Haiying (1/5): Not recommended - I changed my check-in date within the timeframe allowed on Booking.com, but the hotel didn't respond until the deadline passed. Then, without any reason, they refused to refund the night I couldn't check in, citing no availability, forcing me to pay over 200 euros more. I requested an invoice, but it hasn't been sent in two months. I left a message for the hotel, but the reply was always to call the front desk. I made at least 10 international calls, but no one answered. I asked them to email me the invoice directly, but they still told me to call the front desk. To this day, I still haven't been able to get through to the hotel front desk. This is an Indian-owned hotel. The rooms were relatively clean, but the restaurant tableware was very dirty, with cups full of grime. The front desk staff were rarely on duty, so we spent a very long time waiting to check in. bad services. Do not recommend.
- Inga (9/5): Fabulous stay - Lovely property, nice staff. Close to Canary Wharf - like 10 minutes walking distance. The only minus for us there were not many shops / restaurants next to the hotel. Hard to turn off the air con as kept turning back on. Was disturbing sleep. Nevertheless lovely stay.
- Buck (7/5): -
- Samb (10/5): This place is awesome 👍🏽🥰 - Clean , well located , nice bathroom, comfortable bed , and commodities
- Andre (5/5): - Spa & gym Not up to hygiene standards
- Kieran (5/5): -
- Liam (9/5): -
- Laura May (10/5): We will come back here without a doubt - Excellent hotel, great staff, lovely room and amazing bed . Very clean and bright
- ALASTAIR (8/5): Great location, loved the history and local area - Heritage yet very modern Car park location and noisy aircon
- Fiona (10/5): -
- Sharman (10/5): Beautiful, convenient stay in Cambridge - Gorgeous room , breakfast was lovely and staff were super helpful Seems to be elder guests
- Greg (8/5): -
- Ciara (10/5): -
- Gergely (8/5): -
- Brett (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean and felt very welcome. Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Would stay again without a doubt - The rooms where really good design on two levels, the staff super helpful and the breakfast was top quality. Tanya on reception is a credit to the hotel Nothing negative at all
- Natacha (8/5): -
- Ferretti (9/5): -
- stewart (10/5): Lovely hotel - Unfortunately mh car windiw was smashed and broken in to outside the propery Local scum bags
- Tim (9/5): Amazing restuarant worth a visit on its own - Food was amazing in the restaurant and the service from all staff was amazing The location was not ideal but the Hotel and staff made up for that.
- Phillip (4/5): - Large room The bed was large but made up of two singles which was not ideal, mold under the mirrors in the bathroom, doors on bathroom cabinet was corroded, not what you expect from four stars, the TV was very dated, no up-to-date streaming option, sound quality was shocking, hard to turn off, had to turn off at the switch.
- Katy (8/5): - The rooms. The location didn’t feel as safe as Canary Wharf.
- nigelonich (8/5): - The hotel and rooms are very clean and well appointed.
- Ali Raza (10/5): - Management and interior was good.teja in perticular was very nice
- emma (10/5): -
- Niina (9/5): -
- Yuhei (7/5): good! - The location was good from the station.
The personal was also good but the restaurant person didn't know that we paid the fee incl. breakfast, the list what they had 2 rooms (incl. us) missing. The air conditioner, automatically will be set 21 grad cold. It was cold in the room.
Also please write it in the text for the guests that water bottles in the minibar free.
The internet connection was "okay" but as a "highspeed WIFI" wasn't ok.
The breakfast wasn't so many to choose, is it London thing? other hotel was also similar.
please also write front of the juices, what juice in the bottle is. We had to test it first what it is.
- Dean (10/5): - Great location . Staff very willing to help. Would definitely stay again.
- Steven (8/5): -
- lucy (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay! We received a warm and friendly welcome, the room was amazing, spacious, comfortable, and beautifully presented and breakfast offered a fantastic variety to suit every taste. Highly recommend! N/a
- sharon (7/5): - Good location, parking, comfortable, clean rooms and good breakfast Nothing
- Fernanda (6/5): - 15 minutes walk from canary wharf The room did not have a luggage stand, so it had to stay layed in the floor. Even though I asked , the hotel could not provide me with a luggage stand.
- Henry (9/5): The hotel is to an excellent standard of finish and represents great value for money. - The hotel is to an excellent standard of finish and represents great value for money close to The City.
- Kameka (7/5): Would stay again, generally I liked it but sort your internet out and change the telly. - The size of the room was pretty good; I would be hard-pressed to get a hotel room that size in London for the rate I paid. The room was clean, had a little fridge to store bits. Coffee machine. Tea and coffee in the room.
Huge bed, great shower, and bath. L'occitane toiletries are lovely, no bubble bath though. Provided bathrooms and slippers. good stock of towels. I came back to a tidy room every day I stayed. Canary wharf just across the way. Shops further up. They do have a sauna and steam room as well as a little spa, but didn't get the chance to use these. Didn't use the onsite restaurant. Terrible internet connection, used my phone's hot spot instead as I had work to do.
Television - outdated, could not cast netflix or even youtube.
The lighting in the room was very low, possibly energy-saving, but the bathroom's dull lighting was really disconcerting.
The staff at reception try to be a bit more pleasant and smile a little.
- Carol (8/5): - ambience, cleanliness of the room. would have liked parking, not clear when booking you have to book a space.
- Alan (9/5): -
- John (9/5): Lovely compact hotel in an easy location. - The hotel experience was excellent, our room was on the small side but absolutely fine for what we needed. The location is easy for the DLR, unfortunately for us the DLR was not in operation on our weekend, however Canary Wharf station is only a ten minute walk away. The staff on reception were helpful and interested in ensuring you had a good stay. The inhouse restaurant was really good, we ate one evening and really enjoyed the variety and standard of the Indian dishes on offer. The waiting staff were attentive and helpful, and although it was not a large restaurant the space was well managed. The menu also offered great value for money. We didn't use it but the charge for early check in seemed excessive.
- Diksha (9/5): Excellent - The property was very clean and comfy. Its in quite surroundings and the staff was exceptional.
The room had all the facilities. Was all good
- Robert (7/5): - Service Tired room, heating was a pain, bathroom very small
- Kristina (10/5): Beautiful hotel and rooms! Really enjoyed our short stay there. Thanks! - Location, unique rooms
- Jason (6/5): Great location and price but lacks any measurable charm - Great location and good price as booked several months in advance.
Breakfast was pleasant and plentiful. Got there at 2:45pm with a check in at 3pm. Was told no rooms were ready. 🤔 got upgraded apparently but didn’t feel like it. Got a room with the bed on a mezzanine. Very poor layout. Made the portent of the room small. The room was tall rather the wide. Not a room you would want to spend too much time in. Stair in room were steep too. Bed was really uncomfortable, very hard. Bathrooms not very modern. Hot water to shower took about 2 minutes to come through the system and shower which is over the bath was leaking a lot where the seal must of done where the shower head is attached to the water pipe.
The hotel looks nice and attractive but seems to have lost all of its Lansbury charm with its current owners. Didn’t feel like a boutique hotel. A real shame.
I personally wouldn’t go back.
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Harriet (7/5): Was hard to get in touch with front desk and key card stopped working annoyingly - Rooms very comfy and clean Spa had bad smell and looked a bit worn out like panels missing from cabinet and missing ceiling tiles
- Lindsay (4/5): Mixed: limited food offer, nice bed, noisy, felt unsafe during night. - Room was nice. Bed good and comfortable and nice to have a bath within bathroom. Food offering not diverse enough.
Noisy. Had a terrible experience with someone knocking loudly and repeatedly on my door at 3am and again at 5am. Very, very scary! I did contact night manager who responded quickly but I was very disturbed.
- Amy (9/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): - Clean comfortable rooms. Good choice for breakfast
- CHAOYEN (8/5): -
- Donna (10/5): Comfortable, affordable and beautiful. - The staff were very helpful from start to finish. The decor was lovely throughout and the location is a stones throw away from the station. I would highly recommend
- Barbara (10/5): Excellent service really friendly staff lovely room delicious breakfast - Was delicious with good variety of things
