Guests were loud and up until almost 2am. One of the worst stays we have had in a long time. Will not stay here again.

Ann (6/5): - Beautiful historic property. Our room was a little disappointing in that the bathroom needs to be updated to include double sinks, makeup mirror and better quality towels. There was not a guard rail in the tub/shower. We had to ask for luggage racks since there ws nowhere to put our luggage except on the floor. We enjoyed one dinner here but were disappointed in the food and especially the service. Rhinebeck is full of excellant restaurants so we were disappointed in the hotel restaurant. The entire property, although beautiful is in need of some "deferred maintenance."

Staff were absolutely fantastic and Nansi at the Front Desk, went out of her way to accommodate us when an emergency happened. Great place to explore!

We had a WALK UP to second floor with no one to help with luggage. The decor was a cheap construction The bathroom was tiny and cheaply constructed. Breakfast was at the Beekman Arms a couple blocks away. And by breakfast time, no one had shoveled the walk
Joan (2/5): - I booked the Demeter Inn but they moved me to the Beekman because the internet was out. It was explained to me that staff should have called to advise me of the switch. They did not. My room at the Beekman was directly above the front desk and I could literally hear every word from below. The worst part though was the talking crossing light across the street. It cyclically speaks 3x and then beep beep beeps. Absolute torture and didn't sleep a wink. Meditation didn't help. Rumbling traffic at least covered up the tormenting sound. Never thought I'd pray for traffic.

They were efficient but not welcoming. The sprawling grounds and historic buildings were all well kept. Located right in the center of the business district. Shopping was a short walk away.

Daniela (4/5): Disappointing - Check-in was down street at main Inn which would have been fine if indicated somewhere - I walked in on people occupying a house on premises which very much looked like where you would check-in for the Delamater. The room is very dated and in need of repairs. The heater was so loud that I had to turn it off to be able to sleep, and the bed was like sleeping on plywood.

We arrived to check in and was told we would be in a different room but it was basically the same layout. It took us a half an hour to find the room and the room had a tub/shower with a high step and no grab bars.

It was a bit challenging to locate the concierge due to the extensive service coverage across the large area. The breakfast was standard, slightly better than traditional continental breakfasts in America. The room was warm with air conditioning. However, this made the air very dry at night. The bathroom and toilet were standard. There was sufficient lighting in the room. It was very nice that the administration left a small gift in the room! Thank you for that! Will I stay here next time? Definitely yes.

The young woman at check-in basically told me ‘tough luck, find somewhere else but we are going to charge you if you leave.’ I asked to speak to the manager who graciously told her to find me a room.
Sylvia (4/5): Musty moldy Inn - This place has really gone downhill. They have too many buildings and rooms to keep up with. My room was so moldy and musty and remained so even after I had the windows open for a few hours. The bed was uncomfortable and it appeared the mattress was old. Maybe the rooms are better at their other inn. I won’t be staying again.

And we were able to sit on the front porch of the Gingerbread house late at night and enjoy the summer evening people as the town began to close up. Living in the country in VT is very different than in a the vibrant town of Rhinebeck. It was not that far from Opus 40 and other gardens and arboretums we wanted to visit.

I'm allergic to mold, and I've now got a sinus infection from the exposure. - Need to consider adding USB charging stations to the rooms. - I wish a bolt or something was inside the doors so I felt safer. The locks on the door looked like they had already been busted open once and could easily be pulled open, even with the deadbolt locked. The room across the hall had a peephole, but my room didn't. - Ultimately, the price of the room is far too much. The "novelty" wasn't worth $300 a night, and neither was the location. I would not recommend this location at its current price point.

thomas (6/5): - Nice photos, but the rooms are actually in condo-like buildings and not in the actually main house shown in the photo. Very misleading.
Allan (6/5): - Historic, lovely grounds and upkeep, in town wit convenient walking to restaurants and shops. Rates are high without updated bathroom and mattress was not comfortable.
Richard (6/5): - Rather sparse room. Stairs were steep. A few old tired books on the shelves. Nothing wrong with the place -- just nothing special other than the age of the building.
Verified traveler (6/5): Carriage House at Delamater Inn - I stayed 2 nights in the Carriage House so this review is specific to that. Parking is convenient and ample. Location is excellent and everything in town is walkable. Carriage House is more akin to a roadside motel. The room is in serious need of refurbishment. There are some cosmetic updates like new curtains. However, the bathroom has reached dilapidated sketchy motel territory. The mattress was marginally better than an old school sofa bed mattress territory. Our backs really felt it by the second night. I may consider the main inn in the future. However, I would never stay in the Carriage House again.

Irene (2/5): - I had a beautifull room a wonderful bed but i had a surprise on the next morning my bed was shaking there was an engine down stairs and my bed was really shaking i woke up withfear. I asked them to change my room and they rpoposed me another one who smelled mold so i asked them another room finally ok. But theycharged me a different price so i want to complain about thatthemanager just decided to change the price. So unhappy and disappointed. Irene Leriche

Eleanor (10/5): - This property has all of the charm and privacy of a B&B, without anyone fussing over you or the need to talk to other people over breakfast. The room was charming and furnished in a manner to reference the home's historic nature and the front porch and garden are serene.

We called the desk, were put on hold for 10 minutes, and then dropped--had to walk in the rain a block or two to the main desk, and then wait for the heat to be turned on.The second night the television didn't work and the staff member tried to convince us the cable was not working because of rain. It was then fixed. Room was small, double not queen bed, and one of the most expensive rooms in town. Towels were small and rough. Bathroom sink had been damaged and repaired rather than replaced. Lots of money for lots of disappointment.
