- Teixeira (9/5): Near perfect - Overall a near perfect experience. The property is very pretty with a rustic feel almost an industrial chique (sometimes makes you wonder if by design or accident). The staff is warm and welcome, catering to every need. The breakfast is nothing short of amazing, putting many four star hotels from major chains to shame. The location is great, close to Arouca, and even in the off season, under heavy rain it's a pleasant space to be in. I believe in the summer the pool is very inviting. I can't compare it to other venues in the area but I believe everyone would be satisfied with Quinta do Pomar Maior and with some small improvements it can deliver the perfect Alojamento Local experience. Expect to cross paths with several types of bugs. The access is honestly very bad. A very tight street in which two cars don't cross can make for some very challenging reversing situations (I suggest installing a motion detection traffic light the style you see in underground Lisbon parking lots) and the gate to the property is in a very inclined slippery cobble stone. Definitely not friendly for lower or exotic cars.

We purchased breakfast brought to the room, and this turned about to be delicious and nearly enough for two days…packed in reusable containers. She was also helpful with restaurant recommendations. The accommodation was airy and spacious. It’s a tough spot to find with only the address. Ask for directions! It was somehow not clear to us that the kitchen would be completely empty (aside from coffee pods.) If you plan to cook you’ll need everything including salt, pepper, paper towels (although a dish towel did appear on our second day….)

- Driessen (10/5): A glorious 2 weeks spent in paradise - The host, the grounds, the details, the location, the serenity, the uniqueness of the property. The kids loved the pool (actually, we all did), we had our own private space but shared the grounds with others which made for nice interaction. We had many amazing meals down by our private bbq under the trees among the orchard.with the sun setting on another fantastic day.. Nothing. it was pure perfection
