Guest Reviews
- TINGTING (10/5): - Excellent hotel!
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Nancy (10/5): - Great staff!!!So helpful!
- Linda (10/5): Kamakura Getaway - Very clean. Within walking distance of the sights. Felt pleasantly European. Excellent dining options. Definitely recommend.

- Xiao ping (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended - We stayed at this hotel for 6 days. The location is excellent by the Shonan beach and the view from the room was very nice. More importantly, the hotel staff members are customer focused and make sure every customer feels special. I would stay at this hotel again when I visit Kamakura again in the future.

- Paul (8/5): - Nice hotel - clean with friendly staff. The room smelled a little musty and was a bit dated but very comfortable and clean. We had breakfast at the hotel - it was a little expensive for wha my we got considering we had already paid $291 to stay the night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- johnvtokyo (10/5): Wonderful - I met the manager of the hotel in the lobby as we checked in and he explained that he had been a senior manager at the imperial Hotel in Tokyo for 30 years. He’s probably why the hotel is in such good condition. Although there are some nicks in the scratches, like in many older hotels in Japan, this one has been nicely renovated 15 years ago. It’s on the busy road, but you don’t hear anything because the construction is so solid. We stayed in a tatami room, which was lovely. The futon cushion and sheets were very very comfortable and nice. There is a lot of beautiful flower arrangements in the lobby and elsewhere. I debated between giving four stars and five stars but I gave the latter due to the very attractive price. Most of the clientele seem to be on the older side but we saw some young families too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The view was amazing, ans so was the bathroom.
For the price, i expected the room to be a little more chic, and the free bar to contain more cold drinks than just water (there was delicious hot tea and coffee that could be made though, so maybe that's just not a Japanese thing to do).
The elevator was really cheap looking which made the hotel feel a little disguised into a chic hotel.
The staff was absolutely lovely and we still had an amazing stay. Please note my standard are also very high, but for 300$ a night, I think it's fair of me.
The american breakfast was ordinary, however the cutlery was very nice.

- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- homme007 (10/5): Same day reservation for cheap-price - We go to Kamakura-city suddenly, I have to make a reservation. Consequently, it is so great to go there.
- I had a reservation for cheap price under 20,000 yen without foods.
- The room’s view slightly ocean view.
- Baby bed needs additional fee.
- Jason (10/5): Great hotel and very friendly/professional staff - Great hotel and very friendly and professional staff! Conveniently located near the beach and very close to top sights around that area. We loved our Japanese style room that was very spacious, clean and perfect for our 2 little kids as it has more space to move around daytime with put away futons. Highly recommend this hotel!
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Dave (10/5): - Great hotel! Staff is super-friendly and helpful, and location is great.
- DellaG_12 (8/5): Kamakura Park Hotel - We had a wonderful oceanview room at this hotel. The room was very spacious as it also had a sofa bed in a niche in the corner. Yes, it is a little dated but none the less the room offered more than adequate amenities for our two night stay in this wonderful town. We had a complimentary breakfast for our stay. We chose the Western cuisine and it was not disappointing. The coffee was delicious! Overall a pleasant and enjoyable stay at this hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Ken (10/5): - Very good hospitality. Western breakfast was excellent too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice proximity to the sea, very helpful staff and nice large room
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- TheWard (8/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful town - We loved staying at this hotel. It's on the water, has views of the bay and the windows open - fresh air!
This was our first time staying in Kamakura - we have visited before but never stayed overnight - and whilst there's not a lot of choice in terms of hotel accommodation, we were certainly happy with our decision.
We wanted to take time to explore this wonderful town, and ride the Enoden train as much as we could. We also wanted to unwind, and staying at Kamakura Park Hotel gave us plenty of opportunity to do all of these things.
You have to walk through the back streets to get to the nearest train station, Hase, about 10 minutes away. We really like exploring the back streets of any town or city and staying at this hotel certainly gave us plenty to discover; we took a different route every day.
And the staff were amazing, especially Haruna Ueki. She certainly made our stay very special. Lucky for us, she has spent time living in our hometown, so she understood us very quickly and was able to give us lots of tips about coffee, eating and what to see.
One tip though, whilst having a room with a view was certainly wonderful, we couldn't leave our window open all night as the traffic noise was too constant. It's a road that everyone uses to go up and down the coast, so the traffic never stops. However, closing the window certainly blocked out nearly all of the noise.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic staff. Great Location. Very comfortable rooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were amazing, very helpful and polite going above board to help us during weather related emergency. the rooms are large and very comfortable but overall the staff make the stay so positive!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place - The Only hotel I stay in Kamakura. Lovely.
- touringmatt (6/5): Neat but tired - No doubt quite nice in its day, the hotel is tired and out dated and somewhat overpriced.
The choice of hotel in Kamakura can be slim, and it seems that western OTAs like Agoda and booking.com don’t get access to the full inventory of hotels available in Kamakura which makes selection tricky.
Staff are nice and rooms are tidy, I would waste money on a view room as they can have more road noise
- John (10/5): - Wonderful. We can’t praise Kamakura Park enough. The Japanese restaurant in particular is praiseworthy.
- Masako (10/5): My favorite hotel in Kamakura - I love this hotel. I visit Kamakura very often, but only when the rooms are available here. If they are sold out, I adjust my date.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice view of the beach from our room. 15 minute walk to view Mt Fuji. It was a clear day, so beautiful view. 15 minute walk from hotel to Hasedera Temple and train station.
- Jill (10/5): Lovely hotel with great staff. - The hotel was lovely and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and comfortable for theee people and couldn’t fault the service the hotel offered.
The only downside was that the weather was awful and so stayed in the hotel and the bar and restaurant closed early and stopped serving food at 9.00pm and and drinks at 9.30.
- Derby88 (8/5): Nice sized room and very nice staff - I went to Kamakura for an 3km ocean swimming race on the beach. The weekend was very busy and I was lucky to get a room here on a Friday night. It also says something that it was one of the last hotels with rooms available. The hotel seems to cater to tour groups, which could also be a factor on the weekends.
The positives are that the rooms are quite big and the staff have excellent English. The location is a 10 minute walk from the local train station, but not bad. I didn't try the restaurant, but there are some nice beach restaurants only about 6 minutes walk away.
The negative is that it feels like an average tourist hotel that you could find in any part of the world. It doesn't take advantage of it's sea front location, in my view.
- Yoko (10/5): Great everything - We booked in tatami Japanese style room, which I found to be less comfortable for my unique situation. I asked if we can change to a western-style room and they happily agreed. The food, service, and cleanliness of this hotel were all top notch. I would definitely stay here again and would encourage others to do so if they wish to stay in Kamakura by the beach.
- MAF-M_France (6/5): Expensive for what you get - The hotel is located close to the sea, but on a very busy road. It never stops and to reach the sea you have to cross it.
The rooms are very comfortable, bathrooms functional. All rooms have sea view and the noise from the road.
For breakfast you have the choice of japanese or western breakfast. We went for the so called western breakfast. To our surprise we were served:
- a mini portion on cornflakes (one spoon)
- a soup
- a green salad
- croissants and break with jam
- eggs
- joghurt
The breakfast was ok, just very long and the service disorganized.
Expensive for what you get.
- svlcogen (10/5): Super comfort, great services, highly recommended - We were there for two night in March 2018. Our stay was very pleasant as the room was so comfort with lots of space and very comfortable. We also tried both Japanese and Western types breakfast on each day, and both were super. The services were very efficient, professional, and polite. We had asked for help from the reception to book a strawberry picking trip for us and two ladies at the counter were very helpful and arranged us a great itinerary.
The location is also great and I got a chance to do my running along the coast line in front of the hotel every morning. We had a great stay and recommend this hotel to everyone.
- 2800PDA (10/5): Their Japanese style big bath is a must try - Not really sure whether their bath is “Onsen”; but they do have a Japanese style bath in addition to a private bath in each guest room. Just because of coming far down to Kamakura, a hotel stay is worth trying. They are one of the best hotels in Kamakura. Maybe too far to walk with your carrying case; but it’s on the beach for a short cab ride.
- MichelleHeywood (8/5): Great seaside location - Stayed only 1 night during a business trip but quite a modern hotel located directly opposite the ocean. Comfortable and clean rooms but slightly dated in style and amenities. Hotel service was excellent. Breakfast was traditional Japanese or Western and very nice. Easy parking onsite and several dining options. Japanese restaurant was very authentic.
- StefanoPicco (8/5): Mhm - Was here for 1 day.
The hotel was not bad at all however nothing felt really special either. The traditional Japanese room and bathroom were quite cool though.
I would go back if the price is also right.
- blankfield (10/5): Attentive service - Very attractive hotel with lovely sitting area in our room to see the ocean. In close proximity to attractions. This is an upscale hotel, not set up for backpackers (e.g. Not full laundry service, but dry cleaning).
- gavelcabin (10/5): Relaxing visit after a frenetic stay in Tokyo - Lovely location on the water -- room had a nice view, was very spacious and comfortable. Meals very expensive so we ate elsewhere -- the nearby Lawson's has remarkably good carry-out for breakfast and light suppers. Terrific huge bathtub. Used the small railway to get into Kamakura downtown. Walked to the Great Buddha and Hasadera Temple. Enjoyed the walk along the water to the hotel.
Only problem was non-existent wifi -- that is, there was supposed to be wifi but it never worked during our stay. Did make it a bit more peaceful, I suppose.
- kathy (10/5): A very nice & classy hotel - After flying for 15 hours & taking an hour & a half train ride to Kamakura, I was beat. The front desk acted like they've been waiting for me. Check-in was a breeze & they showed me my room & made sure I knew how everything worked. The hotel exceeded my expectations & the staff was really friendly & helpful. They try very hard to make sure one's needs are being met.
I will definitely stay here again.
- soumyas828 (10/5): Awesome food - Really really good food. I will request everyone to visit if you are around the place. Authentic Japanese food. Just beside the sea beach, with a beautiful view from the dining place. Staffs were very nice as throughout the japan I have experienced.
I enjoyed here very much.
Dinner time
You could go with a course, and a la carte, as you'd like. Very nicely done. Beautiful traditional Japanese Course.
- littleannie96 (8/5): Lovely getaway - The Kamakura Park Hotel is a dated but very comfortable hotel in a quaint Japanese seaside town. The staff were exceptional. The lady at reception who checked us in, spoke perfect English. She was interested in our travels and gave us great advice on what to do in Kamakura.
Dinner in Pergola was very good. We opted for the western breakfast and were disappointed...only because it was a set menu and not what we would have chosen.
The big Buddha is worth a visit and the walk there through shrines, temples, local shops and narrow streets was fascinating
The beach is not great at this end, but keep walking...it gets better
An interesting place for a stop over, if you enjoy getting off the beaten track
