Guest Reviews
- Chellasamy (10/5): A relaxing and pleasant stay with great service and a beautiful environment. - We had a wonderful 3-day stay at the resort. The location was peaceful and beautiful, perfect for relaxation. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good with decent variety, and the overall atmosphere was calm and enjoyable. Everything was mostly great. A little improvement in WiFi speed and more breakfast options would make the experience even better.
- Guest (10/5): -
- James (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff.
- Thierry (8/5): -
- Daniel (5/5): Passable - Rooms were spacious enough and the pool was nice. The first impression of the resort was good. Friendly employee behind the counter. However, we had a lot of problems with the poorly functioning air conditioning. The resort is located 15 minutes walk from the center of Vang Vieng. With the high temperatures this was just a bit too far. Furthermore, the staff was downright rude during breakfast. The ladies were only on their phones with the volume at the highest setting. They also only cleaned up sparingly. We stayed here 4 nights and every morning the same breakfast with zero variety. Every morning from 5 o'clock you hear different animals screaming. They really wake you up.
- Pinida (8/5): Quiet location, wonderful staffs, clean room. -
- Nathan (9/5): Gorgeous views, lovely accommodating staff, nice pool, quiet end of town. - Super friendly staff that were very accommodating. Resort was kept incredibly clean. Fantastic value for money. The resort is located a 5 minute walk past the busy main street which keeps it quiet, with gorgeous views of the hot air balloons at dusk and dawn. Beds are firm and really large. Pool is a good size and very clean.
- Arnaud (1/5): Not to be repeated, by all mean - Nothing Poorly located in a district with Little public light, this hotel has no restaurant, an appauling breakfast, no service and a large population of chinese visitors partying all Night long
- Monika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (8/5): Very good -
- Gemma (10/5): Hotel very nice amb delicious breakfast buffet! uffet! - Very nice and delicious breakfast buffet! The pool was very clean, and the receptionist got along very well with us :) La TV no funcionaba
- Phonetheva (7/5): Good -
- Katrine (5/5): Passable - Could be a great place but needs improvements. Not very clean and could do with some landscaping and renovating.
- Niels (8/5): Very good - Resort is very new, rooms and pool area are clean and staff is there to help you. We rented a motorbike for a couple of days and it takes you 2 mins to the city centre. Got woken up by the chickens many many times during the night:')
- Magdalena (3/5): Poor - Breakfast was awful. Rooms ok but service not great. Breakfast.
- Amy (7/5): Lots of cool experiences, pool was a bonus - Staff very helpful in organising and recommending trips, able to organise Tuk Tuk for you as taxis not easily available, pool was very well kept and not too busy, rooms spacious! Location is a bit off the Main Street with poor street lights, safe if in a group or pairs but might be cautious if alone
Shower had very poor hot water, definitely needs upgrading!
- Sara (8/5): Very good - I liked the view of the mountains and air balloons, the pool and the large room with balconies. It would have been nice to have fresh coffee for breakfast.
- Winter (8/5): Very good -
- Jeannine (1/5): Stay was okay, but Hotel price was higher - Nice place with a good swimming pool. Room was good. The guy on the reception asked for a higher price as I agreed with the booking. Asking for the Boss to solve the problem was not helpfull (cause he said he is the Boss). So I needet to pay the more price or cancel with playing the full price.
It was really loud in the hotel cause they made some renovation. The place is a bit far away from the City centre.
- Brian (4/5): It’s ok. Pictures make it look nice. Not the best location - Staff booked tuck tucs when we needed them Needed a tuc tuc to get around, pictures make it look better than it is. Breakfast was basic
- Phuong (7/5): Good - The room is nice and clean however it is located next to a road so it is quite noisy sometimes. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very poor. We came down at 8.15 in the morning and there was almost no food left.
- Mark (8/5): Very good - All was good.. Bit far out from centre bit of a Dusty walk into town
- Trang (10/5): Great hotel - Good breakfast. Good view. Nothing
- Claire (7/5): Okay - Large room.
Nice balcony
Friendly staff 1 pillow each.
Basic room, don’t expect luxury.
Photos make it look better than it is but it is cheap.
It’s on the corner of a busy road junction, where coaches stop.
There is no bar but a fridge at reception.
No restaurant, only a breakfast buffet.
Don’t expect amazing views from your room. Although, you will see plenty, whilst you’re in the town.
It is on the outskirts of the town.
Photo below is the view at breakfast.
- Ralf (8/5): Very good -
- Adam (7/5): Not bad - Comfortable beds. spacious rooms. Nice size balcony with a view of the pool and passing by hot air balloons. Reception staff were friendly and tried there best to help us even though there was a language barrier. Hotel needs a lot of work doing. Pool area beds are dated and uncomfy. Jacuzzi out of service and also the slide. There is a spa that is not used and a restaurant only used for breakfast. Hotel has a lot of potential but does need some work. Music from sky club which is 5 mins down the road was extremely loud until 2am for most nights of our stay.
- Caoilainn (8/5): Very good -
- Leon (8/5): Very good - The big pool, and big room...
Breakfast with a lovely view...
scooters renting. Staff do not speak english.
Noise( music karaok beside the resort).
- Murat (9/5): Superb - Pool
Garden Location
- Keith (3/5): Poor -
- Angela (4/5): Disappointing - The owner had changed a short time ago, there was no restaurant, no massage, no credit card payment possible, the air con dit not work....
- Alex (5/5): One night stay - Good scooter for rent. Mainly Asian breakfast. Ants on the balcony (solved with insecticidal spray). In morning time noise from a powered hang gliders, at evening noise from the road. Smoky pillow, smell from bathroom. A lot of one night stay noisy asian tourist groups. Payment in advance for accommodation at the hotel’s internal rate (differed more from the exchange rate). So, i paid more than i expected.
- Josh (7/5): Good -
- Joanna (5/5): Passable -
- Eric (8/5): Very good -
- Mikkeline (9/5): Superb - Staff was amazing
- Simina (7/5): Good - The view from the hotel is nice. It doesn't have an own restaurant, so food isn't offered, except for breakfast. It is situated outside the city. I was hoping for peace and quiet, but there was loud karaoke music every evening nearby. The staff was not very friendly.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carine (8/5): Beautiful hotel for a short stay in Vang Vieng - Beautiful hotel with very nice views of the mountains (and hot air balloons), with a nice renovated swimming pool and nice gardens.
The day staff was very helpful, and helped us with the tuktuk bookings & train tickets.
We had a family room with comes with 2 double beds and a spacious balcony, so quite comfortable. Breakfast choice could be improved. They do eggs on demand which is good, but there was no coffee except the instant individual one.
The shower has no ledge so it puts water everywhere, and the shampoo provided is a mini individual dose, so better to bring your own.
The location is a bit far from the center of the town, about 15 min distance.
- Petar (9/5): Superb -
- Arnaud (3/5): Poor - The pool The service, the noisy area, the slide not working.
- Thammawat (10/5): If you compare a lot, you will know that this place is very worthwhile. - Boss very kind very good takecare good service good location big room and worth all the money that is spent on them
If you compare a lot, you will know that this place is very worthwhile. Very good activity We like a lot of activities, very worthwhile. no no no and no and only love here
- Frederico (7/5): Good -
- Tillman (7/5): Good - Friendly staff, clean place, good scooter rental on site Pool did not work most of the time, some staff barely spoke english
- Sackda (10/5): The value for money of this establishment was excellent - Loved the view over the mountain from the breakfast area, loved the pool.
The rooms were large, clean and had everything one needs.
Breakfast wad great too.
The value for money of this establishment was excellent.
The staff members were very helpful.
We were able to rent a scooter directly at the establishment for 150 000 kip a day.
- Dana (8/5): Great value for money - Value for money was very good! The pool area was nice and also the room met the expectations.
- Warunee (7/5): Good -
- Pongsanti (5/5): Passable - Didn't get the room as reserved.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Kristin (7/5): Nice escape from the town - The staff were very accommodating and helpful. We had no power in our room when we arrived so they quickly moved us into another room straight away. The hotel is a short walk out of town so it's quite a nice place to come back to to relax at the end of the day. We were unable to use the swimming pool while we were there, which was the main reason we booked this hotel.
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ana (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was very polite and helpful The resort lacks maintenance
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Penpisoot (7/5): Good -
- Trevor (7/5): Good -
- Estelle (10/5): Exceptional - Great accommodation, no issues at all! Friendly and helpful staff who were also great at helping to recommend and book activities/transport. Nice pool and not a noisy location like other parts of Vang Vieng apparently are. We enjoyed the walk from the accommodation into the town, there’s always plenty of life to see along the way.
- Alise (9/5): Superb - quiet and peaceful place to stay, very friendly and welcoming staff the bed were too hard for us :(
- Nathalia (7/5): Quiet and good breakfast! - Was a quiet place, have delicious breakfasts and the staff were kind!
- Simeon (10/5): Exceptional - Relaxed atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff. Quiet Location was a short walk from the centre, which was fine for me, but my children complained and wanted to travel by songthaew.
- Charles (5/5): Great value for money, good location - we had car anyway so easy to drive 1+ km into town. - Very friendly reception. Excellent staff. Some mould on ceiling, leaking ceilings and slippery floor. We know this is rainy season, so understand the difficulties.
- ภารดี (5/5): not so good not so bad - I asked the property to arrange the breakfast box, but staff denied. Quite location
- Sharyn (7/5): Good -
- Mari-sian. (7/5): Good -
- Petr (9/5): An excellent choice for exploring Vang Vieng. - We were practically alone in the hotel, so the restaurant and massages did not work in the evening. Breakfast was a choice from the breakfast menu. The rooms are large and clean, with a balcony with seating. Wifi OK in all areas. The large and clean swimming pool is excellent. Free private parking. It's a 5-10 minute walk to town. An excellent choice for exploring Vang Vieng.
- Manojkumar (9/5): Superb - Amazing location in mountain foothills with swimming pool...serene atmosphere fantastic breakfast by duo....thanks for the good admin by hoian ...fantastic English speaking friendly girl ling ........good value for money ..
.AtoZ tours ..tickets ...massage available.
Thanks for the unique experience Nothing .
- Siti (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff and big comfortable room. Shower room was ok. Good simple breakfast. Had nice stay. Nothing in particular that made our stay bad. It was nice that we extended our stay.. 😊😍
- Carmela (10/5): Exceptional - This resort is a vietnamese family owned, who are extraordinarily helpful, especially Hugyen (guess I mispelled her name), they genuinely help you. They really help as if your issues are theirs. When I left my water bottle in Luang Prabang, they helped me get it back in one day. She even collected it from the courier company without a cost. She also offered me a free bicycle ride to town without a cost too.
Though the resort is a bit old, but it's clean and not too far from the city center. But more than anything, their absolute assistance is what makes this place extra special. Will come back here without a second thought. Nothing!
- Mark (10/5): Excellent - Second stay here in 2 weeks, great breakfast, lovely clean pool, staff are excellent. We are coming back next week, It’s 10 minutes walk to the centre of town which is amazing as the hotel is so quiet, I loved it, amazing value.
- Lj85 (9/5): Superb - the staff were really helpful. we had technical problems with our booked train, but they helped us to communicate with the person in charge. that gave us some relief. the room could have been cleaned better.
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janey (8/5): Very good -
- Diego (8/5): Very good - Large rooms with good levels of cleaning.
Big bathroom and kind staff. We booked motorbikes with them and, after having had some issues, they were quick and responsive in helping us.
Recommend! The pool is dirty
- Judith (8/5): Very good - Nice big room right next to the pool. Wonderful sunset views from the top of the restaurant (see photo) Being next to the pool was slightly noisy. The hotel is quite a long way out of town.
- Joost (4/5): Poor stay outside Vang Vieng city center - Spacious room with good airco, safe and fridge. Terrace outside was really large with some privacy. Old hotel which urgently needs renovation to keep up to Western quality levels. Hotel staff hardly speaks English. Limited international breakfast options. Need to daily hand-in room key to get housekeeping.
- Nop (4/5): Disappointing -
- Reese (7/5): Budget, family friendly room with a pool and mountain view - Very friendly accomodating staff. They purchased our train tickets a day before we were traveling which was really convenient and helped arrange hire of a buggy for a few hours. Early checkin was a bonus. Spacious bathroom. Hotel was well maintained though a bit rundown. Breakfast just ok. It's around 1km out of town, no problem if you don't mind a walk in/out or have reception book a tuk tuk
- Piyawat (8/5): All and all we had enjoyed stay here. - We were stayed 3days and 2 nights here, staffs are helpful, friendly, breakfast is good. Comfortable bed and room. The facilities in the room such as, "hair dryer" don't have. Soap and shampoo are just a 2 pack of it. Vang Vieng are a lot of activities that make we sweat and sticky so we need more soap and shampoo for cleaning ourselves.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good - Owner very nice. Good location 10 min walk to bars and restraunt. Room clean and big good shower. Pool was big but a bit dirty didn't seem to have a filter. Other then that a great stay
- Katie (9/5): great value for money, beautiful rooms and great pool - the room was fantastic, we loved the big comfy bed and fridge in room with kettle and tea/coffee. we felt like we were on a proper holiday. the pool was nice to have and such a sun trap- we spent the week sunbathing all day! the free breakfast is also amazing addition. can get room serviced every day which is lovely.
and for the extremely good price that we booked this place for I cannot complain! the pool definitely needs a proper clean stared to look quite green and full of insects! we booked the hot air balloon excursion at the front desk, but we were under the impression we getting booked on a luxury hot air balloon as that what he advertised unaware we were being given the 15 min flying city one without being told. only luxury tours (2 hour flight with welcome drink) are advertised but that is NOT what gets booked for you. we were very unimpressed. guy at the reception was very unapologetic and rude when we confronted him and wanted a refund.
hotel is also slightly far out there are no shops, cafes, restaurants near to get anything or eat. It is a 20 minute walk to the centre to get anything which isn’t great when the hotel advertises that it has a restaurant, but it doesn’t.
- Alannah (9/5): Superb - Despite the mixed reviews in this hotel, we found the rooms good value for money. they were clean, big and the hotel was a good enough walk from the town. Breakfast was really poor and staff were a bit scarce around this time to try get fresh eggs etc made.
- George (9/5): Superb - Everything, large and very comfy room, pool also loverly. Would definitely stay here again and reccomend. A little bit out of the town centre but easily walkable.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Savanh sunset is in a great location just 5 minutes walk to the Main Street, so very quiet and away from the noise. The room is spacious and has a nice shower. The staff are amazing so kind and helpful. great value for money 👌🏼 The bed and the Pillows are very hard! Not too comfortable. The pool is big but doesn’t seem to be cleaned too often.
- Madeline (6/5): you get what you pay for. it’s out of town so it’s peaceful - sunset view
mountain view
watching air balloons going up
very helpful one particular young man dirty pool
poor breakfast
- Giovanni (8/5): Very good -
- Elise (8/5): Nice stay - Really nice, big and quiet room
Good breakfast
Nice pool area
Very kind staff Pool a bit dirty
A bit far away from bars and restaurants
The hotel takes big taxes for services like train booking, hot balloon…
- Tamara (8/5): Very good -
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional -
- Morgan (10/5): Excellent value - The hotel felt like a little oasis, a short 10-15 min to the town centre. The room was very clean and spacious and the free buffet breakfast was great. The manager Spring was lovely and very helpful, we didn’t want to leave!
- Nellie (9/5): Superb - we had a great stay at Savanh Sunset resort, but I would like to highlight a very special staff member , Pey! He was the kindest, funniest and most helpful of them all! He really made our stay memorable! the pool was nice and it was a calm environment.
- Circe (9/5): great stay in Vang Vieng! - gorgeous property with clean and well kept pool area. room was quite clean and everything we needed (water, mini fridge, toiletries). breakfast was a good buffet spread. easy check in and nice quiet place only provided one towel each (total, no hand towels or pool towels or face cloths). short walk from main town area
- Hannah (10/5): gorgeous place! - big rooms, comfy beds. gorgeous pool area. hot showers. very peaceful location breakfast was not so great, a bit of walk out of town but nothing crazy far. it could do with some more sunbeds round the pool
- Roy (8/5): Very good - Looks great ,
Big clean rooms ,
Nice balcony,
Good. Breakfast,
Would definitely stay again It's situated at a crossroads a little bit out of the center so it can be a bit noisy,
The pillows where super hard and very uncomfortable
- Clara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamara (9/5): Gem in Vang Vieng - big balconies, awesome shower, big rooms, lovely pool, great value for money, helpful staff, booked for 3 nights stayed for 6! our bed on the first night was a bit firm but we moved rooms the next day and the beds were super comfy.
- Mario (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): A place on the go - Very clean and quiet with a great pool area Not alot of info about viang vieng at reception. We got there late and reception was manned by a girl who had limited English and it took us 15 mins to work out air con as she gave us the keys and pointed. Need maps of the area at reception. The good thing is they have just employed a manager who over the last 2 days has changed alot of things with their staff and should make a lovely quiet retreat into a great space.
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ingame (10/5): Exceptional - The resort is not far from the city the staff is kind and friendly the room is clean and the pool is beautiful nothing
- Anouphone (8/5): Very good -
