Guest Reviews
- Ana Laura (10/5): - Tajaa Pha is a hidden jewel in the area of Patan, Kathamandu. The hotel is for those who value a homey feeling. Shailendra and Amrita, the owners, make sure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Their friendliness and hospitality is sincere and it is evident in the amazing breakfast they serve every day. Rooms are comfortable, quiet, and the ones in the front have a wonderful view of the pond, with the mountains as the background.
- Zuzanna (10/5): Like part of the family - The owners are very attentive and welcoming. They took excellent care, and treated me like part of the family.
- Nilesh (10/5): - Friendly place, comfortable and large rooms plus great view of Pimbahal Pukhu.

- KATSUO (10/5): - The location is amazing. lt’s convenient for exploring old Patan. I had a healthy and tasty breakfast every morning on the rooftop patio. I really enjoyed my stay with the owner Shailendra and his family at Tajaa Pha. They were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this home to everyone, and I will certainly come back again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Home made delicious breakfast prepared by the owner, tips about hike and treks and other local spots. it was like a home atmosphere. Rooms are spacious. some. Ours was with a balcony.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Tajaa Pha SHOULD be using a photo from their rooftop garden as their hero-pic....! It's where had a lovely breakfast each day, served by Saiendra our excellent host, and his daughter Shia. We loved this view - just far enough above the noisy maelstrom that is Kathmandu. And - in SUCH a great part of this city - Patan, the old kingdom, which we came to know quite well - from the brilliant Patan Museum, to the junior ping-pong comp we stumbled across one evening. Cannot speak highly enough - our hosts were always at call - from a broken light-globe, to changing money, to ordering cabs. We would DEFINITELY stay here again. A memorable time.....!
- Thomas (10/5): Highly recommended! - I stayed at the Tajaa Pha for 17 nights while attending workshops and meetings in Kathmandu. The location is superb because many good restaurants are within a short walking distance and the major tourist sights of Patan are also very close by. Best of all, you will be staying with very nice people that will take great care of you. I truly enjoyed my breakfast talks with the hotel owner (BTW, breakfast is very tasty...fruit salad, muesli, masala omelette and if you get lucky, home baked goodies). Overall, if you like to stay away from the hassle of central Kathmandu's Thamel area, then you will find the Tajaa Pha a great alternative.I look forward to my next stay!
- Wanyu (10/5): Gem in the quiet and peaceful area in Patan! - I spent 2 nights on my own in this friendly and warm-hearted B&B and felt totally well taken care of. The owner, Shailendra, is incredibly fun and chatty to welcome me to their hotel. This is a family run hotel that you'll feel it's taken care of with love in every detail. I am offered to the room facing the back garden which is very very quiet at night with a cute balcony. The room is spacious and the bed is huge. The hot water is great and they provide you with additional tooth brushes and pastes. The room is spotless.
The breakfast is prepared by the family and it's delicious. I had Bara pancake one day and toast the next. You can enjoy the peaceful view from the little pond in the heart of Pantan over breakfast on the rooftop. Fruit is also provided in the room, which is really nice as I haven't been able to eat much veggies in Nepal.
The host family made me feel like home. I really enjoyed my stay. If you are looking for something quieter, I think this is the hotel you cannot miss. It's 10 mins walk to most of the landmarks. Pantan has beautiful small alley that you should try to get lost in walking along those streets and taking the views of the beautiful architectures it offers. I'll def come back!
- ちゃわん (8/5): - きれいな部屋で、ホットシャワーも問題なく、快適でした。パタン観光の方は、良いロケーションです。
- Jen (10/5): - If you look for a peaceful, tranquil yet friendly place to stay, this is an absolute choice. I'm amazed by the pond view outside the window. You can still see people connect with each other like a family around. That reminds me the importance of people relationship. The owner is very helpful. The only thing you should be aware of is: this is no air-conditioning (but it's totally fine with the light weather) and the hot shower is just a bit warm.
- Diane (10/5): Patan lovely stay, family fab ,location great, - My Daughter and I loved our last 3 days of our holiday at Tajaa Pha, as they weren't so busy they upgraded us with a view over water, comfortable room ,bed, clean, lovely family, and cute pet turtles, location quiet and walking distance to Patan Derba square ,nice community feel, local food ,and also had a kitchen to use Thankyou for a lovely stay
