- Irina (9/5): -
- Jeff (10/5): Spent four nights and loved our stay; it’s a bit of a walk from downtown (which we didn’t mind) but good to know. - Cute, historic place. Loved our third floor corner room with private bathroom. Good breakfast. Very friendly and communicative staff! Nothing
- Stacy (10/5): Amazing! - The innkeeper was precious! The house was so nice and accommodating. The breakfast was yummy…it was a wonderful experience!!! N/A
- Alycia (8/5): -
- Fred (10/5): We’ll be back!! - Good variety, great omelette and muffins! Nothing!
- R Gene (10/5): The best sleep I have had in awhile. Thanks - It was so great place to lay my head down and relax after a long day. Beds was great. This was my first time trying out a B&B and they made me want to do this more. Thank you! I can’t think of anything
- Linda (5/5): Fine, but it could be better, for what I paid for the room. - The small room was very clean. The room was very small, no end table, no bathroom. They should put al least more hooks on the wall or a little table, so our belongings and cloths are not in the floor.
- Summer (10/5): We had the best time! - We really enjoyed our stay! The location was absolutely perfect—less than a 10-minute walk from the main street of Mackinac Island, which made everything super convenient but still nice and quiet. While the room was on the smaller side, it ended up being the perfect size for us since we were out exploring most of the day anyway.
We were a little hesitant at first about the shared bathrooms, but once we arrived and saw how clean and well-kept they were, it really wasn’t an issue at all. One of the nicest surprises was how quiet the hotel was—despite its age, we hardly heard any noise or commotion during our stay.
The fresh island air was such a treat, especially since we visited during some of the hottest days. And the breakfast was delicious—great coffee, and I really appreciated the nice tea selection too! The only small downside for us was the breakfast hours. It’s currently served from 8am to 10am, which felt a bit short—especially for those of us on vacation who like to sleep in a little! We actually missed breakfast one morning because we kept snoozing our alarm. Extending it to 11am would make it a bit more flexible and relaxing.
- MacKenzie (10/5): Great Labor Day getaway! First timers in Mackinac Island and we enjoyed our time on the island! - Great location that was a quick walk or bike ride to down town. We also enjoyed the cleanliness! We have no complaints!
- Leslie (4/5): - lots of spiders on the third floor. breakfast was mostly gluten is was hard for our gluten free people to get enough to eat. also did not know there were shared baths. air conditioning worked great!
- Jane (10/5): We had a lovely stay! - Great location with lovely room and Caroline was gracious and helpful. We liked everything
- Sandra (8/5): -
- Marcia (10/5): - Staff was friendly and breakfast was great.
- Oliva (10/5): - great place to stay!
- Teresa (7/5): -
- David (10/5): Very welcoming time period set property! - The property was very clean and organized! We had a wonderful stay and staff were welcoming and helpful! Had a charm of the early years throughout! We enjoyed everything at the property! 👍
- Victoria (10/5): It was peaceful and quiet (other than the hot tub but that did not go very late). The windows in my room were large and - Centrally located to both downtown and the rest of the island. TV reception wasn’t great but it wasn’t important enough for me to discuss with the innkeepers.
- Charles (5/5): Mackinac island was charming and unique. But it's uniqueness results in higher costs for every thing. Pine Cottage - The location was great. The room was extremely small. Hardly enough room for our luggage. No storage space. Shared bathroom with 6 other rooms was awkward, but we managed. The bathroom sink was the smallest we have ever seen. Tub with surrounding shower curtain was something out of the 1940s. Breakfast was mediocre to say the least. Little to none hospitality for a so called bed and breakfast.
- Brynn (9/5): Wonderful, cozy stay with friendly staff. - Great location, clean property. Shared bathroom, lots of stairs.
- Kim (10/5): - Everything at Pine Cottage was as we expected. The breakfast was wonderful, and staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We would stay again.
- Linda (8/5): - We had a nice stay.
- Paula (10/5): - I love traditional B&Bs. Love the furniture in living room, and LOVED tea time. Staff helped with little things I asked for-super appreciated! I'm a porch sitter, regardless of temperature- loved that too!
- Julie (8/5): - This quaint property provided a reasonably priced option for staying on Mackinac Island. We were able to store our luggage before and after our stay and even checked in to our room early. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful.
- Patricia (10/5): - The food was especially good home cooked and different each day. Excellent variety. Well located for
Activities
- Seigo (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and nice!
- Jamie (10/5): Lovely stay! - Loved the historical location. The staff was great and stay was perfect! Only downside was it was 3 story but it is a historical home so it kinda comes with the territory
- Michael (10/5): - Property is an easy walk from the main section of town. Breakfast was excellent and especially enjoyed coffee on the front porch.
- Cory (10/5): - Our stay at Pine Cottage Bed and Breakfast was nothing short of wonderful. We had originally booked a smaller room for our family, but once we arrived, it became clear the space would be a bit too tight for comfort. Without us even asking, the staff noticed and went above and beyond by upgrading us to a larger room at no additional cost. It was a thoughtful and generous gesture that made all the difference in our stay. The new room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained—everything we needed to truly relax. What really stood out, though, was the level of care and attentiveness from the entire team. They clearly value their guests and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and cared for. It's rare to find such genuine hospitality, and it’s what will bring us back again. Pine Cottage isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place where you feel looked after, and that makes all the difference.
- Tunya (10/5): - Check out this Bed and Breakfast. It’s clean, beautiful, homey with delicious breakfast and afternoon tea and cookies with a cute little helper, Roma. The Inn Keepers are kind and very helpful. The front porch is nice to sit and unwind after a day of exploring and to chat with other fabulous guests. We stayed 2 nights in October 2025. Wonderful experience! Mackinac is truly magical and unforgettable! Thank you!!
- John (10/5): Perfect bed-and-breakfast - Beautiful and charming bed-and-breakfast with wonderful hosts, excellent breakfast, and warm, friendly environment. Will definitely stay here again.

- margie (10/5): - This Inn was perfect. We enjoyed the hospitality, the breakfast and tea time. Great location.
- CHRIS (10/5): - Caroline and staff were lovely. Very nice establishment that is not too far from local shops. Beautiful view of the lakes from the porch. Breakfast was great and we enjoyed the tea time.
- Jake (6/5): - Room small and quant
- Cherish (10/5): - Very cozy. The shared bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. The hot breakfast was yummy.
- Sara (10/5): - The breakfasts were delicious and Caroline the I keeper was lovely - would definitely return
- Daniel (10/5): - The home like atmosphere of this B&B was an enjoyable alternative to modern cubicle hotels. Modern amenities seamlessly included in a century old inn.
- shirley (10/5): - Our room was bright, cheery and cozy and our breakfast was delicious!! Overall a great stay for our first time to the Island! We’ll be back!
- Catherine (10/5): - Great breakfast. Professional and pleasant staff. Felt safe and great location. Cute house dog :). I had a room with shared bathroom - which was down the hall. Would have preferred a private bath, but can’t complain since I chose the shared bathroom. First Air B&B stay. I would stay here again.
- Robert (10/5): - Innkeeper very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, thanks Caroline
- Katherine (10/5): - The breakfast each morning was a true highlight. Homemade treats in the middle of day and quiet at night covered all our needs. The whirlpool and heated indoor pool was available for a small fee at hotel next door
Zoey at the front desk made us feel special.
Caroline was on top of all our request.
Great stay
- Tammy (10/5): -
- Gedgit (10/5): - Perfect place to stay. Just far enough away from Main Street to be quiet and convenient. I had a room with a shared bathroom but I never had to wait for the bathroom. Again a great place.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Old building tastefully designed and restored, balancing old and new styles. Simple rooms but more than adequate. We really enjoyed staying here.
- Adeline (10/5): - I loved staying here, it was so charming and the staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming!
- Paul (8/5): - Consider a wardrobe mirror in room
- Deanna (8/5): - The room was small but comfortable. The owners and employees were all lovely people. Breakfast was good and we appreciated the afternoon tea and cookies.
We had a shared bathroom which was inconvenient at times. The bathroom was quite small and the tub had high sides which would be hard for people with accessibility issues.
- Wanda (10/5): - Very nice bed & breakfast. Friendly & good breakfast.
- Fred (10/5): -
- Suzanne (10/5): - A very nice place to stay on Mackinac island!
- Brianne (10/5): - The morning breakfasts were wonderful. It was a comfortable and cozy place to stay! Highly recommend.
- Amelia (10/5): - Great place and excellent service!
- Michael Galo (10/5): - It was so quiet and beautiful
- Verena (10/5): - So very friendly and nice. We will be going back.
- Danielle (10/5): - Just perfect all around, clean too
- Anna (10/5): - We had a lovely time staying at Pine Cottage for my daughter's birthday trip to Mackinac Island. Pine Cottage feels like an old-fashioned bed and breakfast like I remember from a few decades ago, with friendly personalized service. We had a view down the street to the harbor where we could see the water. Love Mackinac Island and we were grateful for Pine Cottage's economical prices and great location for our quick getaway.
- veronica (10/5): Great place and staff. - Our room had a private bathroom. Beautiful views, excellent breakfast, location close to all activities but in a quiet area.
- Patricia Mullins (6/5): - Pine Cottage is a good location at a reasonable price. However you do get what you pay for. The room had a private bath but if you are tall you will not fit in this tiny shower. The room was very small with maybe 12 inches of space between the bed and the wall and closet. There was not enough outlets for two people to charge devices unless you want to charge dangerously close to the toilet and sink. If you want coffee and breakfast you better be there before 9 am. Food and coffee runs out and are not replenished. The cookies at tea time are fresh baked and delicious and those did not run out for some crazy reason. I had asked for the hotel staff to book a taxi for me but they refused. I called the Taxi company myself then understood why the hotel didn't want to call them. Its clear the hotel staff wanted me to experience the taxi service's rudeness first hand as the taxi service told me to call back later. I would not stay here again. If you want to experience what a canned sardine feels like , give pine cottage a try.
- Calmes (10/5): - Excellent breakfast, excellent service and someone hauled my bags up and brought them down and back to the ferry.
- Deborah (10/5): We had a great time and everyone and everything was wonderful at Pine Cottage Inn! - The location was great, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious! The room was clean and the whole house was decorated so nice! I can’t think of anything that I would change!
- Douglas (10/5): - The hosts are wonderful. We needed an unexpected accommodation, and they went above and beyond!
- Raymond (10/5): - Very good location, friendly staff, breakfast included, but no view of the water.
- Eve (10/5): - Such a lovely stay!
- Amanda (10/5): - Cute, cozy room with very friendly staff. Would stay again.
- Sintia (4/5): - Don’t have bathroom with each rooms. .Everyone using one🙂
- Felicia (8/5): -
- Dianne (8/5): - First time to stay in bed and breakfast. The food and hospitality and response to questions was awesome.
- Kerry (8/5): Room - Breakfast was excellent including eggs and baked goods. Room was even smaller than expected with little table space for travel items. The mattress comfort was below average.
- Mike (8/5): Good stay. - Cute place. Very clean and everyone was friendly. Good location to everything. The room was small, but comfortable. The breakfast was OK, nothing special about it. Would stay here again.
- Sally (8/5): - Caroline the innkeeper was great with communication, check-in and breakfast.
The owner needs to replace worn carpet and furniture.
It was very clean
- Mia (10/5): - My husband and I had the absolute best time here! The host provided a delicious breakfast every morning and wonderful cookies at tea time in the afternoon. The stay really enhanced the charm of staying on the island! We also had the pleasure of meeting the Innkeepers dog, Roma!
- Ronda (10/5): - My daughter and I had a great time. The room and the bathroom were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with several options to choose from. And just as important, the coffee was perfect.
The staff was very comminating, even at 9:30pm when we were locked out of our room.
- Racheal (10/5): - What a beautiful place to just relax. The island is amazing feels so peaceful!! Caroline was so kind and told us a lot of interesting facts as bout life on Mackinac. The room was cozy and bed was comfy. Shared bathroom not one issue. Highly recommended staying here close to restaurants. The Millers
- Cristin (10/5): - Cute and cozy... it is a bed and breakfast... if gives both. The shared bathroom is a little different, but nothing that was problematic. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
- Lori (10/5): - Beautiful place! Lovely views!
- Laura (10/5): - This Bed and Breakfast is a lovely inn. However, be aware that the rooms require you to use a shared bathroom. We knew this ahead and time, and it was fine. If there was someone in our restroom (3rd floor), we just went down to the 2nd floor where there were 2 restrooms available. Our bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The breakfast was also good, staff was friendly, and we enjoyed talking to other travelers. Be aware that it does take a bit of a hike uphill to get to this place, but we did it and we are 56 and 68. We would stay there again if we visited Macinac Island again in the future.
- clayton (10/5): - Very accommodating..plenty of communication
- Kelley (10/5): - The staff was welcoming and friendly. The house had quaint accommodations that gave our trip that special touch. The rocking chairs outside provided a beautiful view and breeze. Caroline, the innskeeper, was amazing and made the B&B feel like a home.
- Rachel (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing, romantic stay! - The property was beautiful! The room was very clean and incredibly comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay! Nothing.
- Jacob (10/5): Excellent!! Especially the Inn Keepers!!! - I loved that everything was so quaint, and very clean! The shared toilets were not as nice as a private bathroom, but all in all, they were clean and easy to use.
- kenneth (10/5): - Great place for a quiet vacation. Close to shopping and dining. Breakfast was fine, just wish there was more fruit to pick from. The bed was great but the bathroom was quite small. Be prepared to make things work 😄 Would highly recommend Pine Cottage 👍
- Tammy (10/5): Had a very comfortable stay. AWESOME AC!! - Ice machine a +++! Delicious cookies at 4pm!! Breakfast was more of a continental grab n go. Clean rooms & bathrooms. Luggage was taken care of appropriately! I’ll stay here again!! The bed & breakfast that I have stayed at have had more of a sit down breakfast. Your options here are more of a grab n go.
- Douglas (10/5): - This is an interesting, old home as one would expect on the island. It is well-maintained, clean, and feels safe. The breakfast is continental with a hot egg casserole dish, fresh baked muffins, and plenty of other options. The coffee is available 24/7 and cookies are offered at "teatime" every afternoon.
The rooms are variable with some being very small (community bathroom/shower) and some rooms are larger with a sofa and private bath.
The home is relatively close to the downtown area, is midway up a hill, and has many steps to access and to go upstairs (no elevator if that matters). Pretty charming place.
The host is very pleasant, always available and also very accommodating. When we needed are larger space to allow our whole family to get ready for a wedding (after 2 rooms out of 3 needed to check out, staying only one night), they were able to upgrade us to a king room with a private bath for no extra charge - what a blessing! You saved the day for us -Thank you!
- Jill (8/5): - A very cute place in a quieter part of Mackinac Island. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are small with shared bathrooms. The breakfast was nice with lots of options. We enjoyed our stay there.
- Cindy (10/5): - I truly enjoyed my stay at Pine Cottage. My room had an amazing view of the water and docks, and I just spent time sitting in my room and enjoying the view. The staff was really friendly and the food was excellent. I also loved the rocking chairs on the porch - I spent time reading there.
- Lorin (10/5): - Just far enough away from downtown to be quiet but close enough to be accessible! Comfortable bed with nice pillows! French toast casserole with blueberries for breakfast. Fresh water always available and the coffee was good! Had a nice sit on the porch in the evening. A great place to stay without all the fuss. Definitely recommend!
- Stacie (10/5): We absolutely loved staying at Pine Cottage. It was quiet and comfortable on a good location. - Clean, simple, comfortable. Rockers on front porch aren’t conducive for sitting long! 😝
- Renee (10/5): - I feel comfortable and very safe here. Everyone is very nice and helpful.
- Jamil (10/5): - Clean and convenient location to the city center. Friendly staff as well.
- Peggy (10/5): Awesome and so much fun! - Such friendly managers, helped give of ideas of what to do! Walls very thin, but we expected that in an older home.
- Davis (10/5): - Charming Stay at Pine Cottage
We had a wonderful stay at Pine Cottage! This charming bed and breakfast is full of character—cozy, clean, and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Breakfast each morning was delicious and a perfect way to start the day.
The location is ideal—tucked away just enough to be peaceful, yet an easy walk to downtown and the heart of the island. We loved the views from our room and appreciated the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. If you’re looking for a cute, comfortable place with classic island charm, Pine Cottage is a great choice. Highly recommend!
- Nadine (10/5): Cozy - This is a cozy clean adorable B&B tucked away but still close to all the attractions.
- Paula (9/5): Nice, clean, friendly place - Very nice family run place with comfortable beds and a good breakfast. Bathrooms were shared but we never had to wait in line for them. Everything was sparkling clean and the owners were very nice and helpful Kinda pricey for rooms without a bathroom
- Audin (10/5): - Great breakfast and excellent service from staff.
- Amanda (10/5): - We were looking for a reasonable place to stay in Mackinac and found the Pine Cottage. It’s just off the Main Street, close to everything. The bed n breakfast was immaculate, and the owners are incredibly nice. We would definitely go back and stay.
- Lesley (10/5): - Clean, quiet, convenient B&B close to all the Mackinac Island things to do. Owners were very friendly. Great breakfast. Lovely porch. Loved the experience.
