- daisha (9/5): Absolutely loved it and will be staying again! - It was perfect! The style was amazing and just what we wanted, it was super cute! The staff was super friendly, went above and beyond and the food was phenomenal It was a littttle dirtier than I would have liked but I’m sure it’s hard to clean the high ceilings and vintage furniture.

It had so much charm and personality, as well as an excellent location. We were there for a Red Wings hockey game and it was just a five minute walk away.

- VanZant (9/5): Sport fan hidden gem. - Walkable to major sports venues and the Fox theater. Beautiful old building with lovely decor and common sitting area. Continental breakfast was included and reasonably priced in and out parking. Hidden gem. Be aware rooms are up flights of stairs.

Room temperature was perfect before going to the game. When we returned room was warmer. Heat became too much throughout night making it difficult to sleep. No way to adjust heat in room and no one available on site to complain to or have fixed.

- Ghreichi (8/5): Great cozy and historical getaway! - The property was really historic and beautiful, and I love the way it was curated. Staff were very friendly and kind. The property is in a fantastic location and was very cozy for a little get away. I would love to stay here again in the future. There were just a couple of small things that were not ideal. The building was comfortable, but my room was quite cold and it was not clear if I could change the temperature in the room. The bathroom was fully stocked minus hand soap. And unfortunately, the wifi did not work for me the entirety of my stay. I was planning to work remotely and was forced to leave a little early than planned as a result.

The property is very well kept, though a window washing would make it sparkle. The location is outstanding. Easy walk to the stadium/entertainment district. Safe neighborhood and a beautiful, historic property.
- Brian (8/5): - Great for an overnight stay for local events. You absolutely cannot beat the location!!!! Parking on site was my only complaint as it is advertised to have free street parking and we had to pay $28.99 to park in the lot as the city of Detroit has changed to free parking only between 8am -2pm, residential permit needed otherwise. Steps should have been taken to inform guests ahead of time. I received plenty of emails from the management through Hotels.com about the stay with the old parking info. Not a nice surprise. Otherwise our stay was great for what we needed! The Inn is a very cool building. The rooms are all decorated differently which is fun. It's older and it's clear that there are steps being taking to perform maintenance, update furnishings and such throughout without losing the vintage/antique vibe. The stairs are very old and creaky so I would definitely recommend sleeping with earplugs. The staff that we interacted with was friendly and helpful. We did not take advantage of the continental breakfast so no opinion of that. We would definitely stay here again if attending another event in the area.

- Amanda (10/5): - Beautiful historic home-turned-inn. The room was smallish but nice and included an en-suite bathroom. We loved the large walk-in shower with multiple shower heads. The sitting areas and dining room were also beautiful. The best feature, though, was the close distance to Woodward Ave. We had tickets to a concert at the Fox, which was just a 6 minute walk away. My only complaint is the parking situation was different than posted on Expedia. There was no on-street parking, so we had to pay to stay in the inn's lot. The parking fee was higher than the information i recieved before our stay.

- Ian (8/5): - The Inn was beautiful inside and out, however; in our room there was a ceiling that is peeling, a tear on the wall above the bed, there was already used and empty beer can and whiskey bottle, dead bugs and dust in the left window as I wanted to open the blinds but once I had seen that, I kept them closed. The large rug needs industrial cleaning, as it was pretty stained.

The inn was close to where we were going (the Masonic Temple for a concert) but also within a few hundred yards of the Fox and downtown sports parks. The old place is beautiful and funky without being too fussy. The bathroom was huge—a room unto itself! Our room was quite cold (third floor) due to AC and as it was about 11:30 pm when we got home from the concert, there was no one to contact. Extra blanket helped. The mattress is about at the end of its life. Coffee and continental breakfast were a good bonus.

The staff (Ladies) are charming, well informed and service minded. Would highly recommend to those who love those historical touches. VERY close to Comerica Park and Ford Field!
- Petra (4/5): What a disappointment! - The outside of the building & the grounds are beautiful. We stayed in room 24. It was very warm in the room. Windows did not open, no ceiling fan. I asked the worker there & she turned on sub par air conditioning. The room had no amenities, except a TV. The room had not been cleaned recently. There was a price tag & dust on the floor in the main room. Two bed pillows did not have cases. The window behind the TV was covered by a heavy drape. Behind the drape was a broken, dirty blind. I dropped something on the floor in the bathroom. When I bent to pick it up, the back of the sink & toilet were filthy. The two workers were very nice & welcoming. The continental breakfast was nice. But the filth & poor ventilated room was unacceptable. For $212, we were definitely overcharged. We will never stay there again & will not recommend to our friends.

- Charles (10/5): Beautiful, Central, Welcoming - Located walking distance from downtown and around the corner from the free light rail, The inn at 97 Winder is a true gem! The mansion is gorgeous, filled with a collection of colorful artwork and antiques. The rooms are very spacious—mine had a bay window facing downtown—and the bathrooms are very clean. Everything that I needed was provided for; they even accommodated my late check-in and held a bag for me upon check-out. The breakfast was basic but a nice perk nonetheless. Would stay here again, and especially recommend if you’re attending a show at The Fox Theater or a sporting event.

The common areas were nice and I loved all the wood floors. Proximity to the arena was great. Our room was NOT AT ALL like those pictured online. It was dirty! Crud on the bathroom sink, lord only knows what on the coffee table, and we did NOT walk on the floor without shoes on because it looked like it hadn’t been touched in quite some time. Would I stay there again? No, based on the dirtiness.

- lexus (10/5): Must stay! - This was an amazing B&B!! The staff (I believe their names were Denise and Danielle) were soo friendly! They made sure that me and my sis knew of some of the local things that were going on and always greeted us when we came down and seen us off! I was worried that the air wouldn’t work as well being that it was an older building and we were on the top floor, but we stayed nice and cool in our room! This was also the perfect location for the Ford Field- about a 6 minute walk! 10/10 definitely coming back again!

Excellent location for Lions or Tigers games. Staff was very friendly. Parking is $28 extra but cheaper than any other hotels nearby.

No refreshments otherwise. Only difficulty we had was pre-arrival communications. No responses to chat messaging through hotels.com, and phone went to voicemail 4 times with no returned phone call. I didn’t get through on 5th try. I would still recommend

This historic house is lovely and our room was fine but lacked some basics like a bath mat, soap for sink (until we asked), water cups, room for toiletries. Good shower and the bed was firm but comfortable. Nice continental breakfast. Parking in their lot is $28 for 24 hours. We'd stay again!

The “breakfast” was basically apples, Nutirgrain bars, cold cereal and packets of oatmeal. No room thermometer to control the temperature.

- Lars (10/5): Perfect Hotel for Visiting Comerica Park - We had a very nice stay. Perfect location if you are visiting to see a Tiger’s game. Very safe and walkable location. The building and rooms are lovely. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend.

- maria (2/5): Girls night out gone bad - Upon trying to check in a little after three, they were gonna charge us an extra $50-$75 to check in before four and told us to walk until four otherwise and had to park in a lot that’s connected to building for $29 although there’s parking at the street for free we came back at 5 o’clock to check in and upon getting our room we had to leave quickly and come back later when we came back, we inspected the room and now it’s 10 o’clock and the room is filthy sheets had hair and stains all over it. There was a needle on the floor next to the bed hadn’t been vacuumed. There’s a light out in our hallway so it’s dark And somebody creeping around who was not a guest who got in the back door asking for massages from us, we had to sleep in our own blankets from my car and put towel on top of the pillow so we could lay down. Our room was freezing, and the second floor had no air another guest trying to fix Asked for a different room. She said they didn’t have any. There were bugs all over the table in the main front room, dead and alive crawling around we have bug bites on our bodies did not feel secure or taken care of as staff left at 11 o’clock and nobody there all night. Advised the lady in the morning of what was going on over the evening and she advised we deserve a refund and would get back with us on Wednesday of what the manager would say was not a great experience for two ladies trying to have a relaxing night in Detroit ended up being a nightmare.
- kayla (8/5): - Place was beautiful, bed was hard, bathroom was beautiful, had the good toilet paper and great water pressure. When we filled the jetted tub it smelled like chlorine water. There was some ants in the room and the corners weren’t clean but it is an old house. The only really bad part was that theres No thermostat in the room and it got overwhelming hot in our room at night, so much so that we slept with the door open bc the hallway was cooler.

- Deborah (8/5): - Property has great history and timeless furniture pieces but room could’ve used a thorough cleaning. No thermostat and room was warm. Room had an odor of being in a museum. Bed was mediocre but clean. Parked early but not allowed to check in. We didn’t want to go into room but wanted to be checked in since we didn’t want to have to return between 4:00-8:00. That would’ve cost an additional $50 which was unreasonable since the room was already quite expensive. Not very friendly either if you want return customers. Location is great for game.

- Scott (6/5): - The house is amazing old mansion, and great location. The bad mad it awful Cant control temperature in your room our room was freezing. The parking lot situation (which they do not own the parking lot) i was being told i had to pay for 3 days even though i was obly there less then 48 hour, the owner threatened to tow my car. Then on sunday even though i had paid till 6 pm that day per the app. Was told it didnt count because the tigers were playing a game so i had to pay for the third day. The lady working the desk came out and also argued with they guy working the parking lot and he ended up just givi g up but a waste of 10 min from them just wanting more money. And having different rules that were not written any where. I was also charged more per day then what was on the paper work from the hotel. Just not wroth the hassle. This was my 4th time staying here mainly because its always cheaper then a chain hotel but it will definitely be my last.

- Jean (10/5): - This mansion is an amazing part of Detroit’s history, and you cannot beat the location for The Fox and The Fillmore theaters, Comerica Park, Little Caesars Arena, and Ford Field.
