• Susy Hills (9/5): Fim de semana relax! - O Hotel em si é muito agradável, Os empregados super prestáveis e atenciosos. Gostamos muito da estadia. O pequeno almoço vale muito a pena. Os bolos caseiros sao divinais. Nao ha nada a fazer na zona, Muito pouco ou nada. Alcoutim tem muito pouco a oferecer. No hotel em si nao havia nada a fazer. Chovia no fim de semana. Fomos um pouco ate a piscina entre as nuvens. Infelizmente ha pouco staff entao nao conseguimos a limpeza do quarto no primeiro dia, embora saimos duas vezes do quarto, Mas quando chegaram a nossa zona de limpeza dos quartos eram umas 15hrs e tinha o bebe a dormir a folga, nao era conveniente, Mas no dia a seguir foram logo de manha cedo enquanto tomamos o pequeno almoço.

• Carla Verónica (9/5): - Os pequenos almoços são muito completos, o staff super simpático, o meu quarto tinha uma boa imagem exterior para a piscina e rio Guadiana, e, visual da outra margem do rio a vila Sanlúcar do Guadiana. O colchão não tinha o sobrecolchão, estava duro, não conseguindo dormir bem as noites. Não gostei de ser abordada a meio do pequeno almoço pela funcionária da cozinha a pedir o meu número de quarto. É preferível ter alguém a fiscalizar se o pequeno almoço está pago antes de iniciar mos a refeição, porque é desagradável para o hóspede e para o funcionário da cozinha também.

• Lars (6/5): Decent place in a beautiful location - Location and views are wonderful next to the river. Facilities are decent though a bit outdated. The place could have lots of potential if it was correctly managed and run. On three different occasions/ stays (different times of the year) we have realized that (all) the staff seems to have no understanding or training regarding simple service and customer care. Both reception, cleaning and “restaurant” staff seem like almost annoyed when customers “disturb” them. You get the feeling that they have absolutely no hospitality training for their jobs, which is sad because it could be such a wonderful place with correct management and staffing. The “restaurant” does not offer any proper cooking which is sad…

O isolamento acústico dos quartos é muito mau. Ouvem-se os outros hóspedes e o exterior como se estivessem no nosso quarto. O acesso ao quarto por cartão tem uma segurança muito frágil. Alguém conseguiu abrir-nos a porta ao princípio da noite. Embora tenha sido por engano (cremos), aconteceu. Também podemos trancar a porta com o trinco, mas não esperava que isso fosse possível.

• Andrea (9/5): Excellent value, relaxing - This is the only obvious choice of accommodation in Alcoutim, and it's great value overall. I would definitely stay again if in the area. It's in a scenic, quiet location overlooking the river and Spain on the far side, which one views from the restaurant. Alcoutim town itself is pleasant to walk around. The public areas of the hotel and the rooms are all decorated very nicely. There's a lovely big bath in the bathroom. The breakfast is fantastic and excellent value, with nicely cooked items, delicious fresh fruit salad and a great selection of good, freshly baked breads and croissants. Evening food is available, though it is essentially a choice of salads, toasted sandwiches, and burgers, with a very small choice of desserts. The first night I had a very good salad, the second night was a burger which was just okay with soggy fries. Overall the staff were pleasant and friendly, though one young woman in the restaurant looked at me like I had two heads when I asked whether the restaurant was actually open for evening food and went to fetch somebody who spoke more English... though she was more pleasant once I had sat at a table later on and I had spoken a bit of Portuguese to order things. Communication in advance of my arrival was very good. The bathrooms desperately need extractor fans as whenever I had a shower or bath the room filled up with hot moist air which, if I didn't have the door closed, drifted into the bedroom and made things feel a bit damp. Although I've rightly said breakfast was excellent, considering the huge abundance of oranges in this area of Portugal the orange juice from a machine in the morning was awful. I wasn't prepared to pay for a room with a river view as I am travelling on my own, but considering that the hotel was at best only half full of people then it's a bit disappointing I didn't get an upgrade to a river view room considering I was staying for two nights. The room where meals are eaten is not welcoming in the evening, with only a small part of it lit and often nobody present. Certainly the second time I was eating, the whole restaurant AND cooking was being done by a single person.

En Alcoutim, gente estupenda, la comida buena, la luz, el aire y el agua, todo se disfruta Tal vez revisar algunos pequeñisimos detalles, una bisagra rota en un ropero del dormitorio, unos puntos de moho en el baño. Pero quiero creer que no es responsabilidad de las personas que trabajan en el hotel sino que señalo a un posible aumento de inversión.

• Dawn (8/5): Nice hotel, and good location...... - Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. It was peaceful and in a good location. The breakfast was very good. Parking is provided. I have stayed there a few times before and I am always satisfied, and I will happily stay there again. The pillows.

Wunderbare Lage am Guadiana Fluss mit Garten und Pool. Parkplätze vor dem Hotel. Am Abend sind wir mit dem Auto in die Altstadt gefahren. Von der Burg Castelo da Vila blickt man auf die spanische Seite des Guadiana auf Sanlucar de Guadiana. Empfehlenswerter Besuch! Ruhiger, kleiner Ort! Ideal, um sich von einer Reise zu entspannen.

Aunque la atención del personal, la tranquilidad, la cama, el balcón amueblado, la facilidad de estacionamiento, y por supuesto éste entrañable pueblecito, y su entorno, todo hace que una estancia aquísea maravillosa. El desayuno, que se paga aparte (10€), estuvo muy bien, a pesar de que creo que la ocupación era algo baja. Lástima que sólo estuve un día y no pude aprovechar la preciosa piscina que tienen. Pero seguro que volveré, vivo a poco más de dos horas de coche. Nada.
