• Tad (4/5): Great place, in a great location, the room needed a clean and severe maintenance in the bathroom - The room was spacious, with lots of natural light and very well decorated with some very nice little touches. In the main reception area there was a kettle, fridge freezer and sink; also there was some cups and cutlery. In the room there was also coffee making facilities. The location is just over the Tiber from the city centre, which is easy to get to either by foot or public transport. Also, near to the accommodation there are small supermarkets, some super cafes for breakfast and many excellent restaurants and bars within a 10 minute walk. We stayed for 5 nights and never got bored, but we did get exhausted with so much to do. On the first floor of an apartment block the entrance to Trastevere Royal Suite is via a locked door and the central reception area is not regularly staffed for the six rooms. Due to local laws they are not permitted to provide any food, which is a shame. (But hey ho!) Our biggest issue was the general maintenance of the room. On the afternoon of our arrival we noticed a smell of raw sewage in the bathroom and also although the shower had a rain shower head, as well as hand held shower, it did not work as the button to activate the rain shower was jammed. No one was around to help us, so the following morning I had to leave a message on the lobby desk to get the problems rectified. The response was that I did not know how to use the shower and that I needed to pull the button above the tap to get the rain shower to work. Also we were informed that the cleaners had put some cleaners down the plugs. NEITHER WORKED. After a further two nights of the bathroom being unacceptable, I managed to see the 'manager' and took him into our shower to show that the rain shower wasn't working, which he said he would get fixed. This meant I only managed to have one day when the shower worked properly. Finally, on the day of our departure I took the manager into the bathroom and visually explained that due to the plumbing there will always be a smell of sewage, which he said he was getting fixed after our departure. Although our suite was spacious and well decorated, it was in need of a deep clean throughout, especially the bathroom floor which had some questionable stains, particularly under the wall mounted toilet. Finally, even after all these problems have been fixed there will always be a problem with the noise from the main street with TRAFFIC and LATE NIGHT REVELLERS.

The staff was friendly and all in all it’s a good place for the price that you pay. When we entered the lobby of the hotel, there was a really strong cigarette smell and when we entered the room there was also a really bad smell, especially in the bathroom. We had a hard time dealing with the smell and we’re shocked that the smell lingered for all of our stay. We stayed there only one night so felt as though it was useless trying to reach out to the staff about it but would not recommend the place just because of the smell.

La posizione è ottima, abbastanza centrale nel quartiere di Trastevere, perfetta per muoversi a piedi e vivere l’atmosfera autentica della zona. Il personale è stato estremamente gentile, sempre sorridente e disponibile ad aiutare per qualsiasi necessità, facendoci sentire i benvenuti fin dal primo momento. L’unica piccola nota riguarda la temperatura in camera: durante la notte faceva un po’ caldo. Tuttavia dovrebbe essere presente il condizionatore, quindi probabilmente è solo una questione di regolazione. Nel complesso, esperienza molto positiva: consigliata!

Batteries in remote were dead, wifi spotty and tv wouldn’t work. Safe would not lock with keypad. Staff helpful in supplying me a key for the safe. They tried to get tv to work but only pluto connected and poor streaming. Bare minimum on supplies, No shampoo or conditioner for shower just dingle soap dispenser. No tissues in bathroom. No coffee maker in room. Room was smaller this time than the last time we stayed here. Very small sink, no vanity space.

O prédio é bem antigo, elevador pitoresco. Mas se você chegar um pouco antes do horário de check-in, terá que esperar na Rua. Também há algo no quarto que causa bastante alergia em quem tem rinite.

However, there was very little hot water (and the shower had did not work) and the air conditioner made quite a racket. Also, it was difficult to lock the door to the room (we were never quite sure).

• Jacqueline (10/5): - I cannot rate Trastavere Royal Suite highly enough. Had an incredible stay LOVED the trastavere neighborhood. SO many great places to explore. Eduardo was AWESOME. SO helpful and just really a lovely person. Great English as well. Our daughter is studying at JCU and this location was just perfect. Also easy to get to ask the major sites. Walkable, public transport (took to train and to/from coliseum) right there. Super market right there, good, coffee right there. It was the best! Plus our room had this sitting area that was like having another room. Close the curtains and I could get up early and work in the lovely window space while my husband slept soundly in pitch dark begging need. Would*definitely stay here again.

• Tennille (8/5): - Excellent location and a beautiful place to stay once you find it. It’s really hard to find if you’re not familiar with the area or if you’ve never visited Rome. Maps will take you to the address spot, however there’s no signs or address numbers on the exterior structure that says Trastevere Royal Suites. You’re literally looking at two large wooden doors with a small call button on the inside door frame. The doors are between businesses which make it confusing. I called Ray and he was extremely helpful, making sure we got inside to where we needed to go. Once there, the place was beautiful and the staff were very helpful with explaining the keys and lights in our room. The safe didn’t work, but they quickly got it fixed and ready for use. The only other drawback would be the noise outside the room. The train runs right outside the windows throughout the night along with the bar and restaurants below. The location is excellent and within a 20-40 min walking distance to most anything you would want to visit.
