- Leesa (10/5): Great experience. I highly recommend. - Excellent location. Great facilities. Exceptional service. The stand-out aspect for me was the friendly, helpful staff. It was the best service I have experienced in a long time. Parking was very limited.
- John (6/5): Comfortable - Central to Bradford & location Nothing in particular
- Ksenia (7/5): Everything else was nice, great pizza in the restaurant, parking, nice location near the river - Beautiful room with an amazing bath near the window, comfortable bed and nice view When we entered the room there was a smell of disinfection (chlorine or something like that) and it was really strong, we asked to do something with it but seems everyone had forgotten about it and didn’t do anything
As well there was strong noise while using the shower - seems something was broken and not worked perfectly well
- Karen (10/5): Excellent, have already booked for later in the year. - Excellent choice for breakfast, and was delicious. The room ( double mezzanine) was great, with a fantastic view. Wish I could have watched tv in the comfy chairs, but it was upstairs so could only watch lying on the bed.
- Dennis (9/5): -
- GlenandIan (10/5): A great pace to stay - Lovely hotel. Friendly staff, great room - very quiet and overlooked the river.
Really nice breakfast and dinner. I would recommend staying here.
- Hobbs (10/5): Relaxing and friendly - Old yet modern
- Scott (10/5): -
- Jude (6/5): Very expensive for average facilities. - We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and the food was beautifully cooked. The location is very attractive. The first room I was offered was very small and right next to the air conditioning unit which was very noisy. I asked for a change and was given a lovely room with a mezzanine and a view of the river. The Full breakfast wasn’t great. Everything was a little overcooked. The fruit and pastries on offer were very limited. The croissants ran out and were not replenished. There was no bread.
The bar closed at 10 pm, even for residents which was very disappointing.
- Ilaria (8/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): Everything was very good - Location Nothing
- glennrM289KF (10/5): short break in Bradford on Avon - Great location/hotel to leave the car and walk . Staff, rooms, and breakfast very good standard we will definitely return for a short break
- nigelmO4375XJ (10/5): Short stay - Been here before,Still excellent, will be back again,Lovely walks in the area,And close to bath for sightseeing
- GILL (10/5): Amazing service and amazing staff but with lovely relaxed atmosphere - Excellent produce and excellent service. Just a trivial point but would have liked a socket next to the mirror!
- garycS2688DV (8/5): Great location, excellent team & food, choose room carefully - Excellent team and food, great location, nicely refurbished building, good drinks selection and reasonable prices. Room 207 was very comfortable, quite spacious, excellent en-suite shower room.
Slight downsides with the room were no view, limited clothes hanging with no wardrobe and small chest of drawers, noise from ventilation system and room was quite hot unless air conditioning was on.
We would return if we visit beautiful Bradford on Avon again, but look at other room options.
- Camper17657474641 (10/5): Lovely hotel - My husband and I met up with a group of friends for the weekend and we really enjoyed our stay at Timbrell's Yard. The staff were very pleasant and our mezzanine room was really unusual. There was a seating area as we entered the room, with windows overlooking the river. A wooden staircase leads up to the bedroom area and the shower room was off that so no worries about having to negotiate the staircase in the night. It was lovely and we felt very lucky because nobody else in our party had a similar room. We hadn't included breakfast in the booking but we were able to add it on the day and we were given different price options. We both went for the full English and it was great. BOA is very pretty, with lovely walks by the river but we were a bit disappointed there weren't more shops to browse round.
- nicholas (9/5): Good ambience and easy access to Bath - Style - it’s very nicely blended old and new. Lovely location Early morning the metal door under our room scrapes across the floor- but that is one fault among many good points
- PebbleL (8/5): Review of room 205 - We stayed in room 205, which is described on the website as a "large double". On entering the room we were a bit disappointed as the room wasn't that big and the shower room described as "large" on the website was actually quite small. However, these niggles were made up for by the stunning view of the river out of the window.
The staff here were all lovely but we did feel attention to detail could be improved as the fizz and chocolates we booked for the room were forgotten and we had to request them.
I would stay here again but perhaps next time I would specifically request one of the rooms with a free standing bath.
- Q7710UWdavidb (6/5): Mixed experience, good room but random service - Attractive building, well designed room though as we chose poverty spec only had view of a drain & fence with the sound of the kitchen extractor. Breakfast was included and the quality of ingredients / cooking was very good, however service was much less impressive, a shame as did detract.

- mikecB699BL (8/5): Recommended - Friendly Staff and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Followed Town Trail map and explored the very scenic and historic Town without the need of a car.
- jennypK3254QB (10/5): Lovely Sunday Lunch - Enjoyed a perfectly cooked Sunday Lunch, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Lovely setting for sitting outside in better weather.
- helenrS1800DA (10/5): Perfect stay - A lovely, quirky hotel with friendly staff and great food. The rooms are all individually decorated and well equipped. The pop-up bakery was a bonus on Friday morning!
- Djs99_00 (10/5): great location - this dog friendly pub and restaraunt was busy/popular and I can see why. We had excellent service throughout a 2 night stay and the food and accomodation pleased everyone. Breakfast was particularly good
- jane (10/5): Very enjoyable stay . River view excellent location for town and dog walks.nicely designed interior.Helpful staff. - Location, good design, dog friendly. Nothing
- epovey422459 (8/5): A wonderful stay in Bradford Upon Avon - The warm welcome I received by one of your waiting staff (early in the morning Saturday 21st Feb 2026) made me feel special and valued considering I was a solo guest, the lady remembered my name and made sure I was taken care of, very attentive service. I did not catch the lady's name but she was bubbly and dark haired! The room was lovely, I did not book a river view but to my delight I was upgraded which made the stay memorable and relaxing. Thank you!
- willyb_11 (10/5): Great location for a few relaxing days - The hotel and staff are lovely and the location made it possible to go for a walk along the river each morning. The room was large, clean and very comfortable and the food at breakfast excellent.
- 523em27 (8/5): Beautiful relax - Lovely hotel on river. Walk to bath from outside. Great friendly staff. Lush breaky. Noisey rooms in mornings ..earplugs provided. Great window seat over looking river. Idealic break
- Lindsey (10/5): -
- juliegK6484NC (10/5): Great spot - Fabulous spot for a two night break with friends. Breakfast were excellent. Sunday lunch very good. Rooms comfy and clean.
- sal0minar (2/5): Disappointing - The Sunday roast came highly recommended, so I booked a late Sunday lunch for the family to enjoy. Very disappointed, the service was slow, we waited half an hour for a drinks menu, then another half an hour before they took our food order.
When we did receive our meals, it was very dry and not tasty.
- simon (9/5): Recommended cosy friendly hotel - Cosy interior, comfy furnishings, beautiful building , friendly staff
- 113leej (10/5): Lovely modern hotel, staff and restaurant - Had fantastic stay lovely modern room and excellent restaurant and food
Really friendly helpful staff and parking for our van
- PVAP (10/5): Welcoming with excellent breakfast - Very well placed for wandering around the town. We had lunch and breakfast both of which were excellent. All the staff team were very friendly - exactly how you want people to be.
- Q6582ZBlisaa (2/5): Unimpressed and left hungry - I ordered the vegetarian Thai red curry main during my visit. The dish was served cold and lacked any flavour. The portion size was extremely small, containing only a tiny amount of chickpeas and two very small florets of cauliflower. It was not filling and did not represent good value for the price charged. I left still hungry and had to eat again afterwards. Overall, a very disappointing meal.
- lilaclisa (2/5): Terrible - Extremely disappointing. The Thai red curry was served cold, almost entirely devoid of flavour, and astonishingly small in portion. The dish contained only a token amount of chickpeas and exactly two small florets of cauliflower. Despite being priced comparably to a steak, it was barely sufficient as a starter. I left the restaurant still hungry and had to buy food again once I got home. This represents very poor value and a complete lack of care in both preparation and pricing
- 922JulieB (10/5): A gem of a place - Warm, professional staff. Fab room overlooking the river. Food good and bar service good.
Will definitely return.
- Joris (9/5): Great night - Great Location, cozy pub and restaurant with good food and drinks.
Rooms are well equipped. The bed was a bit smaller than expected.
Maybe the English standard double bed size is a it smaller than on the continent…
- Paul (10/5): A perfect place for us and our dog to stay whilst visiting family, looking forward to our next visit - Homely, comfortable, dog friendly No dislikes
- Jessica (10/5): - Know it well as often stay here. Excellent staff and beautiful spot Nothin
- Nick (9/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): Delightful and beyond expectations. - Location and views. Friendly staff. Nothing
- Carol (9/5): Lovely place, good food , great service - The location The rooms view
- Jitendra (9/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): Nice stay on the river in easy reach of Bath - Nice hotel inn near Bath Breakfast was very expensive
- John (9/5): - A friendly, warm atmosphere with an individual style. The price of the breakfast menu could have been clearer. The breakfast, though, was still good.
- Michael (8/5): -
- rachael (10/5): -
- Janette (10/5): Exceptional hotel - Excellent and helpful staff. Warm, cosy atmosphere and environment. Fabulous room. Comfy bed. Lovely toiletries Nothing
- Ben (10/5): -
- Jón (10/5): Would love to return - Fabulous staff, interesting restaurant where everything on the menu was appealing. Nice looking bar although we didn’t try it. Very comfortable rooms with excellent bedlinen and pillows. Lovely view of the river &Town from the window. Parking can be tricky. Only six or so space is outside the hotel but parking is available in the station car park about five minutes walk away.

- Nigel (9/5): - Great location. Nice room. Wonderful towels! It's only a small point, but the breakfast, nice that it was, did seem a bit expensive.
- John (8/5): Location brilliant - Location excellent Bedroom was up a flight of stairs which was odd to say the least.
- Simon (8/5): Enjoyable visit in attractive central location - Breakfast for 2 no real concerns
- Martin (10/5): -
- ALEXIA (9/5): Fantastic girlies weekend away - Bedrooms.
Location
Vibe If I had to be picky, I'd liked to have parked at the hotel but couldn't as full. Other parking was a short walk away, which wasn't a problem but it was very busy.
- Hilary (8/5): All round terrific experience - A really good experience. The team at reception and on the. Café/Bar are excellent. The restaurant is a pleasant space, the good generally is very good as is the wine selection. I don't how regularly the menu changes, but it seems to be the same for a long time. The bread and cake depot is a terrific idea.
- rachael (10/5): -
- roger (10/5): - Great for dogs
- Piers (9/5): A lovely mini break, great food. Very comfortable and well equipped bedroom. - Welcoming friendly staff, delicious food and delightful comfortable room. Highly recommended.
- Edward (9/5): -
- kevin (10/5): Highly recommended - Excellent room which was spotless in a great location. Parking is limited on site. Further parking is available but a short walk away and vehicles would be parked overnight in a public car park.
- Helen (8/5): -
- IanJBell (10/5): One Special Night - A really relaxing stay with a fantastic atmosphere. What a view from our room - Just delightful! Good times
- Trickydicky86025 (6/5): Nice concept but poorly delivered - Great location and nice concept of quirky boutique rooms. However my room was unbelievably hot and stuffy and I could not cool it down. There was an air con unit but it was not working. Also a bad smell of drains from the bathroom which pervaded the whole room. Bad nights sleep ahead of important business. Not good.
- 494merrickd (10/5): Brilliant Stay as always - Fantastic place to visit, eat, stay or all 3. Been coming to Timbrells for years now and always have a great time. Love the place
- caulla (10/5): “Charming Riverside Stay at Timbrell’s Yard” - Timbrell’s Yard – Bradford on Avon
Timbrell’s Yard – Bradford on Avon We loved our stay at Timbrell’s Yard! Our room overlooked the river and had two floors — a cozy bedroom upstairs and a beautiful sitting area below. The atmosphere was charming and relaxing.
The food was excellent, and the included breakfast was truly amazing. You could order from the kitchen — from a full English breakfast to avocado toast and eggs — and also enjoy a lovely buffet with fresh fruit, granola, cereals, jams, croissants, and fresh juices. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.
Like most European rooms, it didn’t have drawers for clothes, but the space was large and comfortable. I used the window seat to keep my things organized, and it worked perfectly.
The hotel staff went above and beyond expectations — everyone was kind, helpful, and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable.
Bradford on Avon is spectacular, and the hotel’s location by the river made it even more special. It’s only a quick 15-minute train ride to Bath, so it’s a perfect base for exploring the area.
We’re so glad we stayed for four days and would definitely recommend Timbrell’s Yard to anyone visiting the region!
- Chip_Croustille (10/5): Great Room at Timbrells Yard - We stayed two nights in room 205 at Timbrells Yard. Super king bed, awesome view of the Avon river out the full wall of windows, great shower, great breakfast. The location in Bradford On Avon is perfect - - right beside pedestrian bridge to the churches, a few feet from the town bridge, and a very short walk to restaurants and shopping. Clean, quiet, excellent service. Highly recommended!
- carolineroot993 (10/5): Bradford on Avons Gem - Had a fantastic stay here. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Olivia is a ray of sunshine at breakfast. Rooms are lovely with a great range of toiletries. If you need somewhere to stay in Bradford on Avon look no further than Timbrells Yard. We will definitely be back
- hshear348609 (10/5): A great choice - Timbrells offers great comfort and quality. Well situated in the centre of the town, it helps make even the shortest of stays a really enjoyable experience
- dustydogw (10/5): Nice stay in BOA - We spent a week here while visiting the area and could not be more pleased. It is near the train and close to shops and restaurants. We have a lovely king room overlooking the water. All the staff is great but a shout out to Olivia who was ALWAYS in a great cheerful mood.
- 725sallyanng (10/5): Great hotel - Such a warm welcome, staff are excellent. Great stay - room clean, bed comfortable, shower great. Loved donuts from the pop up bakery on Fridays. Location for taking train (few mins walk to station) to Bath was excellent.
- Jonathan (8/5): -
- P1933XHmarkm (10/5): Nice inn in the middle of town. - Nice cozy place by the river and center of town. Good breakfast, quiet room. Staff was very pleasant.
- Paul (10/5): - Clean room and excellent, friendly staff. Nothing. All good
- Karen (1/5): - Cancelled no food at 21.00
- sdoner884355 (10/5): Family stay - Lovely stay with our dogs. I Would definitely recommend The hotel for all reasons. Bed Comfort was superb and a quiet location
- Alessandro (10/5): -
- Mopsamoo (10/5): Sunday Lunch - We had a delicious lunch here - the service was great and very friendly. Lovely place to relax and we had the chicken roast and my husband had the triple roast so needed time to chill after a big lunch. We didn’t feel rushed and would definitely return.
- TheWhiteRabbit57 (10/5): Can’t Be Beaten - What a brilliant place to stay. Wonderful rooms, great staff, excellent location and wonderful food.
Can’t be beaten!
- John (7/5): - Room was clean, good bathroom and shower. Friendly staff. Bed wasnt very big, room was not very well lit and with black mugs to make tea with, you could hardly see what you were doing. Also only parking available for about 6 cars so had to park for free in station car park, about 5 minute walk away, but carry luggage.
- 321Roger123 (8/5): Enjoyable stay - We found the staff very pleasant and helpful and our room (one of the larger ones) very comfortable and well equipped.
We had breakfast twice and dinner once - very helpful and friendly staff, rather quirky and interesting menus, but the food itself was mediocre in that we felt there was a lack of attention to detail in the preparation and cooking
- cvaugh436248 (10/5): Great location, comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff - We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was helpful and friendly, Location is nice - right on the river and walkable from the train station. The restaurant and bar are great. The rooms were nicely decorated and super comfortable. Very easy to stroll around the river path, the tithe barn and the town from here.
- Cary (9/5): Lovely location, friendly helpful staff, great rooms. - Helpful and friendly staff, nice restaurant, great location on the river and near the train station, comfortable stylish room.
- Q7916DKpeterl (10/5): Great stay at Timbrell’s Yard - Lovely stay at Timbrell’s Yard including bed and breakfast and evening meal. The hotel is situated centrally by the river and train station. We had a free upgrade to standard. We received a warm welcome and it was a nice room. Really enjoyable evening meal with friends in the restaurant and a tasty breakfast the following morning. I would recommend Timbrell’s Yard for a stay in a lovely location.
- shane947 (10/5): A wonderful peaceful stay in Bradford on Avon - Very highly reccommended. Everything, from the welcome for us to the welcome for our dog, made it an exceptional stay.
- Bond (10/5): Great place to stay, restaurant was just ok - Location, cleanliness, staff friendliness Dinner: nice ambience but average quality
- Sean (8/5): -
- Travel595689 (8/5): Lovely hotel - Had a great stay with friends celebrating a 60th birthday. The staff were lovely and the bar and restaurant have a great vibe. We stayed in September and it was warm enough to enjoy drinks outside during the day which was nice. I booked a cosy room which was very small but I knew that on booking. Good shower, very comfortable bed and pillows. My friend stayed in one of the rooms with a view of the river which was beautiful. We liked the breakfast and dinner and the restaurant is a lovely, relaxed room. I do think the rooms should have a small fridge but other than that, all good! BOA is a small, pretty town although has a lot of traffic. We also visited Frome which is nearby and has some lovely independent shops and restaurants and Iford Gardens which are beautiful despite the rain (which actually meant it wasn't very busy which was good!). All in all we had a wonderful weekend.
- AlanN_11 (10/5): Excellent Riverside Stop - Timbrells Yard is an excellent hotel for an overnight stop or longer. It is ideally situated in the lovely town of Bradford on Avon. Dog friendly with great walks on the doorstep. Staff and Food are top notch.
- Catherine (9/5): Stylish accommodation in lovely old town - Really stylish bedroom with comfortable bed, lovely large fluffy white towels and lovely toiletries. All the little bathroom details thought about carefully. There could have been better facilities in the room for charging phones, etc. Only one available plug well away from the bed.
- Sonja (9/5): Lovely accommodation, clean, fresh and thoughtfully decorated - Great location, free parking and tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. Could hear the person in the room above us walking around…..made it difficult to sleep.
