• Ian (8/5): - Proximity to the school......and town shops. Staff sickness meant no bar food, one evening. Many stairs to climb ( 2 floors ). It's an old building, of course. Rooms are small.........but adequate.

Hot water took an age to come throught. Decor throughout tired - corridors, rooms, bar. Limited evening menu. Understaffed. Couldn't find staff when tea coffee supplies in room ran out. Area has many empty shops and feels run down.

• Debbie (10/5): Great comfy and cosy hotel, in good location, friendly helpful staff, I would definitely stay here again. - Very clean and the bed was so comfortable, nice and quiet , had a great sleep The open fire in the downstairs lounge was very warm and cosy , perfect for just before bed. I couldn’t fault it, you would expect it to have a higher rating on booking.com

Clean bathroom and good shower. Staff were great and very helpful. Car parking signage a little confusing…followed instructions,parking on upper levels where 2 hours free (Asda)with option to pay extra hour,but no longer than 3,enquired at hotel,where you scanned a QR code at teception to pay parking and override the 3 hour limit…could be a little clearer in instructions.

• Joanna (6/5): Good for an overnight stay - Historic building in a good location with lovely staff who were welcoming and helpful - we enquired about taxi services and they organised it all for us. Room was nicely decorated, if a bit small, with good size ensuite and shower. (Didn't eat in or stay for breakfast, so can't comment on the dining areas or food.) One window pane had a large crack in it and it also opened out onto a flat roof so we kept it shut, which meant the room got quite hot overnight. Also, the bed was only a small double rather than a king which most places now offer. The communal hallway we walked through to get to the room was also looking a bit rough/tatty in places and not reflective of the quality of actual room itself.

• Charlotte (6/5): Don’t let your children arrive first! - The bathroom and the drinks provided were good. My daughter and her boyfriend were given the best room on arrival. We were left with the smaller rooms. Considering we were paying it would have been nice if the larger room was given to the bill payer. It was very hot but at least we had a fan.

• John (3/5): nice, but cluttered reception areas. - It is a quaint hotel with nice history in a good loaction. It has nice facilties. The staff are friendly. The decor is nice for the most part. The hotel is cluttered with chairs standing on one another in the one reception room, bicycle stacked up, books, etc. Cleaning clothes and bottles standing in the breakfast area. Reception area needs some work to fix the counter. Office is a mess with the door standing open.

• Anne (6/5): Very small, cramped rooms. - Very friendly girl in the bar. Comfortable bed. Plenty of pillows. Electric heater provided....good as room often cold. Kettle and iron provided. Good selection for breakfast. No lift. Only 2 floors but i have a bad knee and was on floor 2. Paid for a bigger room but it was very cramped. Bathroom very tiny. Toiletries didn't include conditioner. One light in the bathroom was motion controlled so went on if you went to use bathroom in the middle of the night. Absolutely infuriating. If i get up in the night, i want it to remain dark. Got into the shower one morning with only the motion controlled light on. In the middle of my shower I was plunged into darkness! Wasn't happy. Very little space to leave bags. Only 2 hangers for 2 people! Only 1 small bottle of water provided.

Value for money and freindly and courtious staff. Very decent facilities and Toilets/Bathrooms are amazing. Internet connection was poor at times. Breakfast options could be better.

• Sophie (7/5): - The room was clean and comfortable for one night (might be a bit small for a long stay). The bathroom seemed very newly done out. It wasn't clear where to park (Asda, it turns out) - we had to phone the hotel after driving around in the dark. Would help to be sent that information beforehand. The walls were thin and we could hear the guests in the next room until the early hours. Bring ear plugs! If you book it through them you get breakfast included so maybe consider that.

• Michelle (10/5): Excellent value, very comfortable stay. - Very helpful, pleasant staff who were swift to rectify any issues. Room was nice and quiet, big and very clean, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Really central location too. Lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend as a very reasonably priced place to stay in the centre of Rugby. Some lovely restaurants and bars nearby too. Excellent. I didn't get an email to say you need to Park at Asda and pay £5 and couldn't get through to the hotel for a while to ask where to park. All sorted and Asda is very close to the hotel. You just scan a QR code and pay.

• Felix (7/5): The old 3 shoes hotel rebranded; perfectly serviceable hotel for visitors to Rugby - Bedrooms comfortable and clean; good breakfast. Upstairs central areas pretty tired and showing wear and tear; understand the hotel had been shut to the public to house migrants which would explain this.

• katherine (6/5): 3 star - Comfortable bed, good shower and nice tea and coffee choice. Clean sheets and good towels. Room 110 is really hot, the radiator doesn’t have a valve. Unfortunately the TV didn’t work. The room looks into a back street that on a Friday night is a popular place to loiter and drink! The loo roll was 3/4 empty and no spares- all in all unfortunately I was disappointed.

Pedi su reparación y nos dijeron que no tenían personal de mantenimiento, que arreglarian al otro día. Yo sólo estaría una noche. Señalaron no disponer de otra habitación, ni tampoco ofrecieron alternativa para cubrir el vidrio, por lo que yo tuve que buscar con que cubrir. Hiceron remodelaciones en el hotel, pero no las terminaron, por lo que se convive con cosas arregladas y otras muy viejas. El desayuno continental muy pobre. Se terminaron algunas de las comidas y no hicieron recambio.

• Karina (8/5): Nice hotel in pedestrian zone - Nice hotel in the center of Rugby, within walking distance of lots of places to eat. It's an old building and thus doesn't have double glasing, so it was rather cold at night. The heating wasn't on as it was only September. For the rest, the hotel is nice enough, room was small, bed was comfy and bathroom was clean. Staff was friendly.

• Joel (6/5): - The customer service was great, and the cleanliness and general order was on par with most at this price point. They were accommodating of us bringing a pet, even if this did come with a non-advertised charge. However, I booked this stay in preparation for a very important interview day, and found myself consistently disturbed by the quite audible noise from other residents and the alleyway below, during the nighttime and daytime. I would attribute this to rather thin walls and no soundproofing measures on the windows or doors. I was woken at 5:15am to the sound of a large vehicle and smashing glass, most likely the local council just doing their job, but this and the other noise really dampened my stay. It was also noticeable there was some clear staining on the ceilings and a partially unattached toilet seat. Overall, not great, perhaps good?

• Lindsay (6/5): Okay for short stay! - The hotel is a historic building with old charm but contemporary and rustic furnishings. It’s a great location a few minutes walk into town with shops, eateries and transport links close by. The staff are very polite and helpful and allowed us to store our bags until ready. Lack of attention when it comes to cleaning, dusty in some areas, a few maintenance issues but nothing to ruin our stay,it is an old building. The phone system didn’t work throughout our stay so room service and front desk wasn’t easy to contact. The WiFi was very unreliable, the tv lacks some functionality.
• ron (4/5): - the rear room was fine, but the window was single-glazed with '60s louuvre ventilation which let in all the noise - traffic from warwick street and hilmorton road, and loud bottle and rubbish collection at 4am. there was no advertised times for breakfast. their website says their rooms have "Flat screen, digital TV with over 100 channels plus you can cast from any device", but for the life of me i could not cast from my phone and there were no instructions on how to. also, the tv guide function was a couple of hours ahead, i.e. at midnight it seemed to think it was 2.30am. scrolling through the guide was pitiful. in the end i had to be content without the tv altogether. i asked to see the ballroom, which the duty manager was pleased to show me. it stank of air-freshener which to my mind was to mask a worse smell of mustiness. the bed and linens were really comfoetable, and the en-suite was excellent. but you gotta do something about those wndows. i just don't buy that yiu can't do anything about it just because it's a listed building.
