- Alberto (8/5): - Everything was good during my stay at this hotel, except the furnace was too hot (N.B. The trip was made in November).
- kenneth (10/5): Underrated - Really close to Kashiwa station, the area around is neat and has a bunch of restaurants, bars & stores, the station itself does too and has a great doughnut shop.
It looks far away from Tokyo on a map but wasn’t really that bad depending on where in Tokyo you’re going. The hotel is a bit old school but I like that, real door key, proper buttons and stuff if or the lights & AC in the room. 80/90s style, helpful staff and also a McDonald’s nearby.

- Nicole Sze Ho (2/5): - So I booked for one day nonsmoking room and then during my stay, I rebooked for two more days but accidentally booked smoking room. When I re-checked in before 10AM on the second day I found out my mistake. I apologized to front desk. Then I made sure that if I canceled on second night I will not be refunded, as it was less than 24hrs. But will be refunded third. At first, I agreed to stay both nights and changed to nonsmoking room next day, but then changed my mind and went down to speak to the lady who spoke english. I told her, sure that’s fine you can keep the second night's money but I will canceling for both days that I booked as I didn’t want smoking room on the second day. The lady decided to charge me $20 extra because I checked out after 10 and stay until 1 PM. She had told me prior to stay in the room to wait for when they tell me which room I will be in. But why will canceling affect them as their check in time is 3 and i already paid for a room, so that room will be empty and free to book by others, yet I still paid, and on top of that she charged me for staying overtime, WHEN I PAID FOR THE ROOM and it was free to book by others because I did not stay. I felt forced and didn't want to cause a scene. Totally unreasonable for that lady to do that to me. Too bad the other staff were nice. Will not be coming back.
- Jay (10/5): - The staff has always been great. When my AC started leaking one night, they quickly had me in a new room. The location next to the Kashiwa train station makes it easy to get any place in Tokyo.
(10/5): - Good
- blaise (10/5): - great location for Atago training!
- FUMIKO (8/5): - wifi
- Scott (6/5): - Rooms are looking really dated. Carpets haven't been properly cleaned in ages, so you can see dust coming up as you walk (probably not good for your health).
- Kylie (10/5): - I just needed a place to stay for a few days after moving out of my house, so I didn’t need anything special. Affordable and had a “home” feeling. It was a great place to stay and the staff was very friendly and accommodating even though my Japanese is not great. Every day they provided cleaning or if I didn’t want cleaning, they provided extra amenities (new towels, robe, trash bags, tea, razor, etc). The cleaning ladies were also very nice. I was also able to check back into my room past 2 am on New Year’s Eve which was really helpful for me because I missed my train back to Kashiwa and didn’t arrive to the hotel until 3:30, but I was still able to check in and get into my room.
Also very close to the station, so I didn’t need to walk in the cold for very long.
The only thing I didn’t like was the early check out on the day I was leaving, but it was also my fault for waking up late.
Overall great experience
- Danny (8/5): - Service and staff was very helpful. Wi-fi reliability was questionable throughout the day but other than it was a nice place to stay. If I need to stay in the area, I would book them again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 2
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall fit basic needs but the rooms are extremely small. Great location right across the street from the train station.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Me gustó sobretodo el trato personal. Lo que me resultó pequeña la habitación
- Rye (8/5): Kashiwa plaza hotel review by annual customer... - The hotel was very friendly and clean. The housekeeping has been impeccable both times I’ve stayed there. I always stay for at least ten days if not more and have been very pleased.
- Lindsay (8/5): - The hotel is clean, shower is a bit small I guess can't be helped.
- hirokit832 (8/5): Good hotel Good location - Located in kashiwa near from station. Very friendly staffs, great meal,
I can say one of the nice hotel in this area..
I hope I will return back in this beautiful hotel after my Hawai returns ..
best of luck all the teams ..
- Selina (6/5): Noisy neighbours - Needed a place close to Narita to stay. Check-in receptionist had a bit of trouble trying to find my name. Room had all that was needed and was very clean.
Only complaint is that my neighbour room was a group of Chinese girls making all sorts of loud noises and banging on the walls late into the night.
- Brandon (10/5): Inexpensive decent room - The room was great, Room was cleaned every day between 10am and 2PM, the staff is helpful and friendly, there are vending machines in the laundry room on the same floor, laundry is inexpensive, Wifi, comfortable, and it is conveniently located directly across from the local train station, the only complaint is that there is no thermostat, the heat/cooling is either on or off and you are the thermostat.
- Ekko (8/5): - Nice Hotel with all facilities close to Kahiwa Satation
Excellence place to say 100% recommended. Kashiwa is a nice city to stay and the hotel it’s very convenient nice and has good prices
- Bev (10/5): - Hotel of preference for Hombu Dojo Noda devotees.
“A bit more””
- Art (8/5): - Nice location very near to my friends and relatives hous
- Gaijin (4/5): - Old hotel with fairly dirty room (at least mine was on the 10th floor). Mold on the bathroom. AC was terrible weak and the room never got below 78 degrees (F).
Rooms are extremely small, but that is expected in Japan.
Staff okay.
I would definitely not stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to the train station - Very nice facility, staff was courteous and bed was bigger than I thought it was going to be.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Quality for the Price - It was a Japan Tourism and Martial Arts trip. The room was small, without extra space. It got cleaned everyday. Over all it was fine for a short stay.
- michaelwY3986OW (10/5): Great location, Great rates. English speaking staff. - The Kashiwa Plaza Hotel is located just outside the Kashiwa train station. You will barely get wet walking across the street in a monsoon. Kashiwa station runs two train lines including a JR with express trains that get you to Ueno Tokyo in about 30-40 minutes. The Tobu line runs south and north to get you to Noda/Atago or Nikko. This makes getting around quick and easy.
The area around the hotel has restraunts and bars (I recommend the Hub British pub for a pint). There are a couple of Starbucks and McDonald's if you are desperate. The station mall has everything from Armani to Tiffany's and lots in between, plus top floor food courts that have great lunch deals (evening prices start at 2pm and are a bit nuts).
The hotel itself is what you would expect from a budget hotel anywhere. You get a room, clean bathroom with a shower/Japanese style bathtub, a small refrigerator, wifi, and a bed. The top floors are for non smoking. Every second floor has a vending and laundry room with a washer and dryer, great for longer stays. There are no amenities, no pool, no gym so if you need those look elsewhere, but for a nice place to sleep while visiting Japan this place is ideal and cheap.
I have stayed at this hotel for over 10 years. It has been consistent and the staff are polite and helpful (I always ask for and get a second pillow). They can help you get around town or find a pharmacy or whatever. If you need a place to stay near Tokyo or for Bujinkan folks close to Noda (ask for special pricing for Bujis), I recommend it highly.
- Jane544 (8/5): Great Location - This hotel is in a great location. You step out your hotel cross the road and shops, restaurants everywhere and then the rail station has a couple of major shopping centres. I travelled by myself and as a female I wandered the streets by myself and felt very safe. Shops open till late and so many too see. The Restaurant at this hotel at night is chinese and I dined there twice and was lovely food. I took takeaway one night back to my room but it was very small serving compared if I had eaten in for the same price. The room was old but clean and each day had my room made up and they supplied me with some little gifts each day eg moisturizers etc. They held my bag for me when I checked out so I could do some more shopping. Staff were very helpful and one spoke english very well. The only thing that was a problem was I had to carry my heavy suitcase up some stairs to get out onto the street as it was raining at the very steep ramp was closed off. Even if it wasn't closed off it would be difficult to manage pulling it up by myself. But I would definitely stay here again due to the location of the hotel to all the shopping and train station.
- sooko1005 (8/5): It is located near the metro station. - Rooms are bit small and the service is good. I liked the first floor restaurant. You can have a breakfast for only 300 yen. It is located near the Kashiwa metro station and malls. First floor has free wifi.
- RSHvid (8/5): A good place to stay, - For a good place to stay at a fair price, located fairly central for travelling in Tokyo metropol or going to the airport, easy access to trains and busses, and a lot of good local, nice and funny folklore in the biggest city of them all, do not stay here for the wiew, but for the location, you can get to anywhere in a relatively short time. Should you by any chance be a martial artist e.g. From Bujinkan this is definatly a great choice, gives you so many options, staying here, transportwise.
- Queen999 (4/5): Would not visit again - The front desk staff was friendly. But the facility was rather disappointing. I reserved a non-smoking room, and it still smelled like smoke. There were hair on the bathroom sink. The room had no view, outside the window was just the wall of other buildings (even though I paid the regular price). Also it was so noisy that I couldn't get a good-night sleep. I do give a point for the water heater in the room. It was good to be able to make some warm tea. The laundry machines on the floor are also helpful, and the price is reasonable. There is a Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor. The Chinese food was pretty good, but the service was aweful. It took them forever to take my order. Overall, I wish I had made the reservation elsewhere. Would not recommend.
- Poryu (10/5): Perfect for Bujinkan Members - I have stayed here in 2009, and twice in 2010. Also stayed in the Kashiwa Annex around the corner (sister hotel) in 2008
From Narita airport you can either take a bus (which I havent taken) or the train to Narita then on to Abiko then Kashiwa. travel time approx 1 hour if the train connect just right.
From the train station its a 3 min walk to the hotel (as well as the kashiwa Annex).
Many of the staff speak english which is a bonus especially if you are calling from overseas to make a booking.
On the 2nd floor there is a chinese restaurant.
Every other floor either has vending machines or laundry facilities (including dryers) Helps keep the suitcase weight down when flying as you can do washing during your stay. I recommend doing it late at night when people are asleep as it guarantees machines will be free to use.
Outside turn right and 1 min walk to a convenience store and the south entrance/exit for the train station. Turn left and you get the main entrance to the train station and entrance to the massive department store (mall) that is over the top of the station. McDonalds and Starbucks are on the ground floor neat the bus stops. the side street to the left of the hotel leads to the kashiwa Annex. if you have friends staying in that hotel then you can call room to room from each hotel to the other. Along this street you will find lots of places to eat at good prices. ramen, curry house, ice cream palor etc etc. At the end on the corner is a greasy cafe style ramen place, its excellent and cheap. This street also has a post office and convenience stores. At the top of the street is 'The Hub' the British pub. worth a visit and if your Bujinkan then you will find many others in there. Bit expensive. Beer is a third of the price in cans from the stores.
if you enter the station from the hotel side and walk right through and out, there are two massive multifloor stores. Take the escalator down on the right side to the street level. this street has a lot of places to eat, toy shops. Also on the right as you get to street level you will see the Shisei Bank (think thats its name). The Atm (cah machine) will accept all credit cards and also almost all UK debit cash cards and I was never charged a transaction of commision fee which is excellent. Just past the bank is a shop you can get a name stamp made to order. sometimes in the same day (half the price and time of the other shop we found). A little further up is an arcade of shops, one fo the which has a fish tank outside in the basement has a food store which will reduce your living costs if you buy food etc form there also cheap if your wanting to buy various drinks to take home such as japanese sake or whiskey. At the end of this street is the kashiwa Jinja, a small local shrine. Edogawada is a nice shushi place. recommend you try it
Trains to Tokyo take about 30 minutes direct to Ueno. Bujinkan people can take the Noda Tobu line to Atago for Honbu. approx 25 min on the train.
For Bujinkan members it is convenient as its easy to get to Honbu etc and also Tokyo, normall other members will be staying here so it helps if your travelling alone.
Hotel is spotless clean, rooms cleaned every day with fresh linen and towels etc. Staff will go out of their way to help one of them even loaned me their own personal umberella one day in a storm so i could get to the post office nice and dry.
Free internet (ask at check in), Tv but you have to buy a TV card for the good stuff (not worth it). All rooms are en suite.
Hotel website is Japanese only (http://www.kph.jp/) I used http://uk.babelfish.yahoo.com/ to translate it
Dont panic if you get to hotel and find they have booked you instead in the Annex around the corner. Its the same hotel they have 2 sites.
