They treat guests like family. We couldn't have been more pleased and our only regret is that we didn't have longer to stay. We were unfortunately unable to have dinner at the hotel restaurant due to the bank holiday but understand that the chef has extremely high credentials. Wish we could have spent several days ....

The hotel is charmingly French with a mix of cosy Britishness. Lovely big and spotlessly clean rooms with comfortable beds and everything you need for a great stay. The restaurant in the hotel is fantastic too and we loved Thiviers and all the beautiful surrounding towns and villages. We’ll definitely be back!
- Dermot (10/5): Expectations massively exceeded! - I stayed here several years ago when Nicola was the owner. Staying again for two nights, 6-8 June 2018, I could not believe how much better the hotel is now. Adrian and Sharon have made enormous changes which make the hotel even more special. I was upgraded to Room 5 which was wonderful - especially the brand new bed which was so comfortable. Thank you Adrian and Sharon. The restaurant was an absolute delight in lovely surroundings. The food was excellent and not surprising knowing chef Nicolas' background. I was pleased to make some happy new memories and would definitely want to stay again. Dermot Williams.

- Rebecca (8/5): Beautiful historic building with welcoming staff - The hotel is a beautiful historic building with lots of character and original features. The owners and staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly, with recommendations of what to do in the local area (including canoeing in Brantome and a visit to Oradour-sur-Glane, near Limoges). The hotel itself is conveniently located for local towns, villages and castles, including Brantome, Saint-Jean-de-Cole and Jumilhac-le-Grand. We had a room on the top floor, which unfortunately was overly warm despite there being a fan in the room. I'm also aware that the owners are in the process of renovating the rooms over a period of time. All in all, a very welcoming and comfortable stay with friendly and helpful staff and a tasty breakfast on the terrace!
