Guest Reviews
- Dawn (10/5): - Very convenient with excellent food right across the street. Both the girl who checked us in and the guy later on were very competent and helpful.
- Travis (10/5): - Just great place!
- Stephanie (8/5): - Check in was very easy. We parked at the end of the building there is no key access, someone has to open door for you, very inconvenient. Overall the stay was good
- Darryl (10/5): - Spacious 2-queen room for a reasonable price. Would stay again!
- Mary (10/5): - Everything was quite good. Everyone was so professional and helpful.
- Samraj (10/5): - Location
- Rochelle (8/5): - We liked everything about this hotel except the comfort of the beds and pillows. Our beds were hard, and the pillows flattened quickly.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Good value, clean room, had to wait to check in even though it was 3:45. Within walking distance to casino if you like to gamble. Great breakfast!
- Shuwei (8/5): - We had a pleasant stay for one night. The room is clean and quiet. The breakfast is OK with mostly carbon hydrates.,
- KRISHNAMOORTHY (10/5): - Very nice and good location
- Cherry (6/5): - Our room wasn't ready when we arrived well after check-in time. Hotel was short of housekeeping staff, so we agreed to go eat supper & then come back. Guy who finally checked us in took care of the details but wasn't overly friendly.
- Charles H (10/5): - Nice and clean
- Julie (4/5): - Room still wasn’t ready 2.5 hours after check in
Bathtub was full of hair
- Reid (8/5): - Place was very clean. And the staff was friendly and helpful.
- Parkkavan (10/5): - Clean room and great staff
- Julie (4/5): - The property is short staffed the girl checking in had to run from the check in desk to a be a cashier in the convenience store… there’s cigarettes and garbage all over outside and the had one maid cleaning all the rooms by herself… no management around to help out.. the beds are crappy
- Peter (10/5): - Great comfortable place to stay. Reasonably priced and more modern than many of the surrounding motels.
- stacy (8/5): - Loved it
- Richard (10/5): - Nice small town area
- John (8/5): - Clean, but noisy. Kids running up and down the hallway.
- Lana (6/5): - Could be very nice but getting run down. Air of neglect every area. Hot tub out of order, no maid service 2nd day, no secondary lock on room doors. Faint smell in facility, pet urine? Breakfast was good. Staff really nice.
I got the impression owners are just trying to squeeze the $$ out of it and call it good
- Ralph (8/5): - It was centrally located really good
- Janet (10/5): - Room was refreshingly clean. Parking close to entries. Very friendly registration desk personnel. Breakfast was delicious. Our 2nd time here and we will stay here again.
- Glenn (8/5): - This was a quiet smaller hotel, with a lobby that is connected to a store and bigger gas station and shares property/ownership with a casino about 200 yards to the east.
The beds were comfortable, and the room amenities were standard with fridge and microwave.
There is a continental breakfast that consists of juice, bagels, muffins, cereal, instant oatmeal packets, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and waffles.
The one extra amenity was a hot tub, that unfortunately was out of service without explanation, during my stay.
This hotel was a bit pricier than one would expect for a place like this, and the gas prices of the connected gas station were almost 10% higher than nearly all gas stations in the region, including the small townships with a single gas station in the middle of nowhere. This type of gouging is a huge pet peeve of mine.
Luckily there are several large gas stations in town just a couple miles away that are lower.
There are lots of souvenir shops, dining options, a grocery store and conveniences in Munising a couple miles away, additionally there is a restaurant w/bar located directly across the road.
- Gregory (8/5): - Clean room. Friendly staff. Had all the amenities we were looking for. Good use a major aesthetic update!
- Margaret (10/5): - The room was very clean and the towels were superb. The coffee was meh.
- Stacy (10/5): - Nice place.
- Beth (10/5): - Clean, large rooms. Good breakfast. Hot tub wasn't working
- Chuck (4/5): - Very old. Room was ok but
- Tamara (8/5): - Nice clean rooms, helpful staff.
- David (10/5): - Loved the location and the room. It was a great 2 day stay close to Pictured Rocks.
- Jaret (10/5): - This was a very clean place, very new-like.
I thought it was a good value for the area and would stay again.
- Michael (8/5): - the rooms were adequate, housekeeping was great. Casino sucked!
- Arno (8/5): - Room was clean. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was standard continental. Had nice restaurant located within walking distance. Easy access to Pictured Rocks.
- Steven (10/5): - This was one of the cleanest hotels/motels we have stayed in. Check in was good also
- Merry (4/5): - The room and the entire building smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The bathroom was clean but the carpet looked dirty/old.
- Rachel (2/5): - The staff does not communicate, as well as online information. We chose this hotel so we could enjoy the pool and hot tub after a very long hike. Well, both were empty. No water in either and they failed to tell us when we checked in. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Anyways, I would never stay here again or recommend it.
Also the manager was supposed to get in touch with us and that also never happened.
- Susan (8/5): Great value! - Our clean room was great! The simple breakfast was just what we needed to start our day!
- Patricia S. (8/5): - Decent room, convenience store, and gas all in one location. Foggys Restaurant across the road was very good.
- Lisa (10/5): - Nice place.
- Thuy (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Nicole (6/5): - The hallways smelled musty but the smell didn't follow into the rooms thankfully. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The beds though felt like sleeping on the floor would have been softer and everytime you moved so did the whole bed. It was an ok place to lay our heads for the night but sleeping was not great
- Dolores (8/5): - Great location. Breakfast needed protein but overall good
- Jason (8/5): - Dated but clean and convenient
- Jack (8/5): - Nreds new carpeting
- James P (10/5): Love the location - Very close to places to eat and activities
Wish there was more for the breakfast like eggs and bacon.
- Dave (8/5): - The property was comfy and easy to access.
The area around the hotel was super, great dining across the street, and the casino next door to amuse us for quite a while...
- Carol (10/5): - Price was good, and it was quiet, with a continental breakfast.
- Gail (8/5): - Bathroom
- RHODELLA (4/5): - The front desk lady was unwelcoming. It was pouring rain outside and she didn't care. I know the checking is 3:00 pm and there was no car in the parking lot and I'm sure the room was ready and available. Most of the hotels we stayed in were very accomodating and super friendly and kind.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Nice parking, great breakfast, clean room, close to activities
- Didrey (10/5): Excellent service - Customer service was excellent! Very friendly staff. The hotel was dated but in good condition. We arrived late in the evening so the days traffic was evident near entryways, but appeared to be clean overall. The room was dated but very clean. Upon entering the room it smelled like cigarette smoke and the window was open. We turned the fan on and the smell went away. The carpet was vacuumed but stained. Breakfast was excellent! Overall stay was great!
- Yvonne (6/5): - The beds were comfortable and the towels were pretty white. The floors weren’t the cleanest.
- Leslie (10/5): - Room's were clean and nice Staff was very helpful when we need questions answered or clean towels or just to say Hello.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - We liked that there was a microwave in the room. The beds were not comfortable and hallways/steps were dirty.
- Kristi (10/5): - clean room, staff helpful, heating And cooling
- Tina (10/5): - My ding in cleanliness was due to housekeeping leaving a lot of unattended linen carts in the hallway requiring me to maneuver around. This was not a cart by a room they were cleaning, but near the housekeeping storage area. I would still stay again if in the area.
- WisconsinHunter (10/5): friendly faces - Very friendly staff, nice clean room, quiet, right next to the casino. normal hotel breakfast, waffle and cereal. I would definitely stay here again
- Susan (8/5): - I was disappointed that the jacuzzi wasn’t working
- Dawn (8/5): - The rooms have not been vacuumed around the edges in a very long time. The hot tub was out of order, and the public restrooms were out of order. The beds were comfortable and it was a reasonably priced place to sleep on our way through.
- Gwen K (8/5): - Close to Munising and shopping and dining. Continental breakfast was good but room didn’t seem as clean due to the stains on the carpet. Bed was worn but okay.
- aloysius (8/5): - Large room, overall good condition.
- Leslie (8/5): - Nice and safe felt very comfortable there
- Plamen (8/5): - Cozy
- Dawn (8/5): - PROS: Rooms are clean. Staff: pleasant, courteous, friendly.Rooms were clean.
CONS: Older spring matresses were very uncomfortable. Woke up with sore back. Motel had water issues so many ameneties were out of order. Not the properties fault, just disappointing. Rooms could use updates.
- COLLEEN (10/5): - Very nice
- Linda (10/5): Friendly and Accommodating - Very nice little hotel that was so accommodating and friendly.
- Ronald (2/5): NOT ABLE TO STAY AT THIS FACILITY - White Pine Lodge was shut down when we arrived.
I AM ASKING HOTELS.COM TO REFUND THE AMOUNT WE PAID TO STAY IN THIS FACILITY. THANK YOU.
- jill (10/5): - Great staff and clean
- Giulia (2/5): - The property was like a motel, with smelly old carpet throughout.
The well that was pumping the lodge with water broke during our stay and the sink, showed and toilet stopped working.
They told us we could go down to the beach if we needed a shower, as a solution.
- Dennis (8/5): - Everything was fine till the water cut off
- John (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at the White Pine Lodge! The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The room was modest but very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It was perfect for relaxing after a long day. There are several local restaurants nearby and a casino across the parking lot. White Pine Lodge is convenient for visiting Munising, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and Marquette which allowed us to visit more places than we anticipated. I plan on staying here for my next UP vacation. The price and experience is tough to beat!
- Emily (2/5): - Would not book a stay here again. So many other lovely places to stay that will communicate any issues with you
- JANET (10/5): - Comfortable, roomy and convenient. Nearby casino wasn't noisy and no problem. Friendly accommodating staff. The first room we were given smelled of pet odor. When I told this to the lady at the front desk, she immediately gave us a different room which had not odor at all. Included breakfast was very good. Appreciated the elevator and luggage carts. Recommend staying here.
- Chris (10/5): - .
- Bonnie (8/5): - Ok place to stay if you’re not looking for anything special. Halls were dirty and outside needed some TLC.
- Dennis (8/5): - The breakfast was good. Coffee was great.
I did NOT like being on the first floor looking at the parking lot and people walking past the window.
I need like to see out the window during the day but don't like people walking past the window
- Amanda (10/5): - This hotel was wonderful. Check in was so easy, lots of parking, so close to Munising we could easily pop in and out of town. Short drive to pictured rocks park. Big, clean room. Breakfast was standard continental breakfast, but so nice to have to start the day. 10/10 would stay again and recommend!
- Randy (10/5): - Rooms were very clean staff very helpful and friendly.
- Douglas (6/5): Reasonable - The room was as expected for the rate. One problem was that the room door didn't close all the way on their own. Room 116.
- Joseph (8/5): - Budget friendly clean hotel. Staff was kind and gave good recommendations on places to visit. Room was clean and location was safe which are our top priorities! Giant hot tub was a pleasant surprise as well. Would recommend.
- Patti (8/5): - It was a quiet stop over with a tasty restaurant across the busy road.
- Michael (8/5): - Great place to stay, will say the only draw back was the beds were a tad bit uncomfortable but it wouldn’t keep me from staying there!
- Mary (10/5): - Very sweet place!
- pamela (10/5): - Everything was fine
- Diana (6/5): - White pine Lodge is in a very small town. My stay there was quite adequate.
- Paula (10/5): - Convenient to our Pictured Rocks destination
- JANET (10/5): - Dated property but clean and comfortable. Friendly and accommodating staff. The room we were assigned to has an animal odor. When we told the woman at the front desk, she found us a different room that had no offer. Breakfast was very good and location is convenient to Munising
- Linda (10/5): - Will certainly come again
- tonja (8/5): - Was a liitle upset that they would not let us check in 20 mins early. We had been hiking all day and it was rainy. 4 oclock is too late for a check in.
- Julie (2/5): - Although the hotel was full, it had a very unpleasant smell which only worsened when we opened the door to our room. The bathroom floor was dirty and had a dead bug on it. The room air conditioner did not work. A few of the towels were dirty. The stairway was in need of being swept. I talked to the front desk who told me the manager would be in at midnight and would call me. I received no call.
- Kim (10/5): - Very friendly staff, clean rooms
- Dawn (6/5): Issues with my stay. - My biggest issues were the breakfast that had nothing that I could eat, because I am gluten and dairy free, the TV that was so tiny I could barely watch it, and kept breaking up, and the shower that made a horrible screeching sound. The Tv and shower really need to be fixed. My allergies can be difficult but usually there is something that I can eat. It was quiet and clean and I appreciated that very much.
- Tammy (10/5): - Handicap accessible
- Zachary (10/5): - Easy check in.
- Tom (8/5): - The room was clean and bright. The bedding was comfortable and better than expected from the reviews. All aspects were good. The only thing noticed was our secondary front entrance had litter which seemed to have been overlooked for some time. We would definitely want to stay here again.
- kathleen (6/5): - I liked that i could walk to the casino , to Bay Furnace federal park and Lake Superior. I didn't like the stained carpet or the overall uncleanliness of the building.
- Timothy (10/5): - Nice property overall. Slight smell in room. Wifi is weak, good for surfing internet though.
- Greg (10/5): - Very nice hotel. Good location.
- kim (8/5): - Everything was fine
