Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I had stayed here before and enjoyed it... This time the property was run down, not as clean, the wifi didn't really work and people were less friendly. We were disappointed.
- Kojo (10/5): Ampomaah Hotel - It was very good and reasonable. Only that breakfast was not served on Xmas Eve, when the rate included breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice place and close to shopping and restaurants. Very close to the airport too
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great friendly staff..strong AC...for the price range really great! Will come back for sure.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Stay in Ampomaah Hotel transiting 1 night in Accra - I was transiting one day in Accra so my stay was Ok
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bath needs replacing.but overall quite please with the service, friendly staff enjoyed my stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice hotel, friendly staff and close to town. Good price too
- Darlene (8/5): Akwaaba!!! - Beautiful people, wonderful stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Akawaaba!!! - The people were very friendly.
- SID-ALLY (8/5): Cool Stay - A very nice stay with well mannered staffs. Great location not too far from the airport and the Accra City mall.
Nice food courts around location.
In all, our stay was cool.
Hotel recommended for budget travel.
- NanaB (6/5): - Issues all round.
Pre check-in - I emailed and called staff on several occasions to arrange for the airport pick up and was given several assurances that it was sorted. Upon arrival at the airport, there was no one to pick us up and when I called to follow-up, I was told to make my own way.
Post check-in - we were initially located to a dirty, stale room with an old tattered mattress and stained bedding. After complaining, the kind reception staff moved us to a slightly better room with one of the lights hanging by a thin thread.
The hotel is in dire need of a renovation, many of the amenities and furnishing were in states of disrepair or outdated. Otherwise the staff were helpful and attentive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpfully. The room was clean and the staff made it pleasant to stay. Local amenities. The staff was accommodating.
- Nikky (10/5): - The hotel is well located at the center of East Legon.
It is a very safe and relaxing area.
I was able to walk both in the morning and even some evenings.
The staff was very helpful, but later started forgetting that I was still a client – they started treating me too casually; which was when I decided to leave.
The greatest issue I have with the hotel is the “lack or inefficient way to communicate”
Whenever you made a request to the front desk, you realize it does not get to the person who is supposed to fix an issue, so the issue is not resolved and you have to repeat your request.
Yet, I enjoyed most of my stay @ Ampomaah Hotel.
The atmosphere is very welcoming, quiet and relaxing.
The kitchen makes great breakfast
Thank you very much.
================
They owner should work on making sure communication is passed on properly and issues are resolved quickly. The staff also needs to remember that, irrespective of the days a client stays in the hotel, they are still clients, don’t get too comfortable
- Adebowale (8/5): Average - An average hotel. Rooms are ok but the hotel is under staffed .
- Wilfred (6/5): - Great property that can offer far more than it is currently doing. Attention to details such as main locks and bathroom amenities can be improve the property immensely
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bath in the room was shockingly tacky and the one towel was dirty on arrival.
We had to go and ask for toilet roll.
Breakfast was a let down.Very basic with porridge and limited choice of egg and bread, no baked beans. There were no fresh local fruits provided. No fruit juice or even drinking water provided.
- Priyanjali (10/5): Hotel staff - We were two girls visiting Accra for a week. The hotel staff treated us like family and were extremely helpful. We are visiting Accra again in May and will stay in the same hotel. Kudos to them.
- Collins (6/5): Good budget hotel - Had a good experience, hotel close to airport, hotel staff were helpful expecially the female who helped me get an uber on my way back to the airport. There are shops close proximity to the hotel, my favourite restaurant star its and a&c mall less than 20mins away, left out of the hotel down boundary road where starbites is, then it's 5mins to starbites. Get uber for your transport round town its cheaper and more convenient and when booked call them to confirm their whereabouts very important cos the app would say 10mins away but that's diff where the actually are.
- Shedrach (10/5): You go as far as your money! - The kitchen, front desk and housekeeping staffs were awesome. They made me feel at home and were eager to help me anyway they can. I did my wedding in this hotel and everyone participated to ensure it was successful. If you are a businessman (you only need a place to sleep and go about handling your business), this is for you. There is no swimming pool and please have some extra cash just incase you need to pay additional fees after. I saw two twin beds on orbitz and when i went in there, their twin beds were just one. I do not know if the fault was from Orbitz or Ampomaah. But Ampomaah was willing to help resolve it with extra fees. I rented the bus and paid for the full tank. I was asked to pay the driver as well. Paying the driver and adding extra gas (before it was finally parked) was not in my budget. This is why i recommended travelers have extra funds for unexpected expenses.
- Peace (8/5): It was a Good stay - Nice staff, quiet location, nice breakfast, easily accessible. I enjoyed the meals I ordered for too. It was a nice stay.
