- Rogers (10/5): Everything you’d want from a privately owned B&B! - Exactly what we were looking for in Maine, wish I had booked more nights here! The owner was incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable of the area. Likely even prettier in the summer when the flowers are in bloom! Wonderful atmosphere! No complaints!
- walt (10/5): Excellent all the way around. - Beautiful and clean Inconvenient to get to.
- Ellerie (10/5): We had a lovely time staying here. Linda is exceptional! - Beautiful property!
- Susan (10/5): Cozy and comfortable in beautiful Maine countryside - We stayed at this charming and quiet B & B for one night on our way to Camden, and we are very glad we did. The Inn is very homey and comfortable. We slept so well! The Inn is nicely decorated with old oak and some stunning handmade pieces. We loved the maritime feel of the art throughout, which included many beautiful pastels by our host Linda. In fact, we loved one scene of Monhegan so well that we bought it! Linda was very helpful and a joy to talk to. We loved our breakfast of amazing blueberry muffins, fresh fruit and yogurt, and eggs. Driving to Damariscotta for dinner was an easy 15 minute drive. The countryside is very pretty and hilly. All in all, a wonderful little stay.
- Barbara (10/5): - Linda, the owner, was gracious and very accommodating. The room we had was very sweet, and the adjourning bathroom was large and had everything you’d need. We woke up to a delicious breakfast of homemade blueberry muffins, fresh yogurt with cream and berries and a hard boiled egg. She made a lovely presentation and really delicious muffins! Highly recommend Clary Lake as a great place to stay in the area.
- Linda (10/5): Pleasant & very comfortable - Didn't stay for breakfast Location
- Elisabeth (10/5): Great! Just great! - The property is perfectly located to use as a place to stay for sightseeing or use to break up a long trip to get further into Maine.
The house has all the amenities of a new place with all the history, antiques and charm of a historic house.
And lastly, the host. She’s absolutely wonderful, friendly, accommodating and makes a great breakfast with hot muffins!! Nothing
- Kathleen (10/5): - Breakfast was great. Room comfortable cozy
- Ciro (7/5): -
- Mauricio (10/5): - We loved our stay with Linda. The property is an old house that she keeps nicely and comfortably. We had an initial problem with hot water but Linda had it fixed the following day. The breakfast was amazing and the area around relaxing. You do need a car to go places and they close early.
- Jared (10/5): - Linda is an incredible and charming hostess! The homemade blueberry muffins were delicious.
- Patricia (10/5): Felt just let like home - Fantastic treatment from Linda
Great breakfast with delicious home made muffins and fresh fruit were just some of the complimentary breakfast.
First Class B And B I cannot wait to go back!
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful night at the Clary Lake bed and breakfast. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful. Had a great nights sleep. Inside is spotlessly clean. Enjoyed a delicious breakfast, chatting with the other guests. Highly recommend

- Maureen (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, cozy and a wonderful breakfast. Linda was lovely!
- Bette (10/5): We had a memorable and enjoyable time at the Clary Lake B&B. - the breakfast was perfect, especially the blueberry muffins. We were upgraded to a queen bed in a lovely room decorated very nicely. Linda was a gracious hostess who welcomed us warmly.
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - Linda and Rick were very friendly and welcoming. Nice big house and very clean.
Ample parking.
Very quiet location, perfect for me travelling through for the night N/a
- Regenia (8/5): Very good - Lovely and quiet area not too far from Damarascotta. Friendly hosts and delicious breakfast. Stairs were very steep, difficult with luggage.
- Renee (10/5): - Beautiful old house with a wonderful host.
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maura (10/5): Great place, nice hosts. -
- Simon (10/5): - Beautiful old property in lovely quiet setting.
The hosts are lively people and make you feel very welcome.
If you’re in one the two rooms upstairs you share a bathroom but we didn’t find any issues.
The only issues we had was a very creaky bed which creaked loudly every time you moved and you need to travel for about 20 mins to get dinner in the evening.
- Eric (9/5): Superb -
- Sebastian (9/5): Superb -
- Fogg (10/5): We'll be back. - The breakfast was delicious. Linda and Rick were very accommodating once we arrived after having to postpone our trip once for Covid.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathaniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): A perfect stay at lovely bed and breakfast. - Breakfast was perfect and not over done like some B n Bs. Owners were friendly, interesting people who respected your privacy conversing when wanted. Nothing
- Ann (10/5): Charming Place - We were very pleased with our stay at the Clary Lake Bed and Breakfast. Linda greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our comfortable room. We had everything we needed for the night. There were fresh flowers in the room (presumably from the garden outside). There were chocolate kisses and coffee and tea in the room. The breakfast was a mix of fresh fruit, a hard boiled egg, a cup of tasty yogurt that was made locally, and fresh baked muffins. There were other items available as well. It was much better than typical hotel breakfast food for sure. I travel a lot for work, so I know! I would recommend staying here if you're in the area!
- brian (8/5): - Quaint property with good service and quiet location.
- Andrew (10/5): Hidden Gem - Linda and Rick were a delight to meet and were very welcoming. Comfortable, convenient to Augusta, and very clean! Flowers were gorgeous
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Pearl (10/5): - Beautiful property and great service near the lake but no place to sit and eat near by.
- Gallant (10/5): Great experience! - The hospitality! Nothing
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louis (5/5): Passable - Breakfast was very good, owners very friendly and helpful! Location was out of the way, bedroom was tiny, bathroom had to be shared by other guests, bed was also very small for two people.
- Maria (9/5): Beautiful place with a rural ambiance - Beautiful place, very well decorated The only issue is the absence of AC, although it was fine at night
- Benjamin (9/5): Charming - Great atmosphere. Sweet and cozy. Linda was charming and welcoming. Great breakfast. Beautiful place. A/C extension was a bit loud, but we turned it off during the night.
- Lloyd (10/5): - The perfect place to stay-friendly hosts, a lovely home and beautiful grounds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to return.
- Claudia (10/5): Great stay in a lovely place with so friendly and kind hosts- strongly recommended - We had a fantastic stay here. A very nice quite location with so friendly hosts. Thank you so much for the delicious breakfasts Linda. It was so nice to share it with the other guests and talk to them and also to our hosts. Never forget hearing the amish buggies riding by in the morning. What a peaceful part of Maine. Linda is a great painter(Monhegan Island), lovely pictures in the house and Rick showed us his workshop, building furniture with students, great. Thanks so much to both of you, Linda and Rick. It would be great to come back for Clarylake B and B . Wish you all the best. Nothing.
- Susan (10/5): very comfy and cozy and scenic.....loved the fireflies and birds, and seeing the Amish go by! - Totally love the breakfasts......homemade baked goods, fresh fruit....scenery was awesome...very homey and comfy.....and linda was awesome she was so freindly and gave us some info about things going on over the weekend and places to explore.... The sharing the bathroom was a little challenge as I didn't want to disturb the other guest and there was only one shower so you kind of didn't know when it would be good for you to take a shower...but there were 2 actual rooms with toilets, so at least you could use that if someone was in the main bathroom. My sisters room was actually cheaper then mine and she had her own bathroom and the other guests room was about $38 cheaper then mine, so I don't know what I did when I booked that my room was more than the others.....
- Bastian (10/5): You'll do very well visiting this place - strongly recommended! - Very warm welcome by super-friendly host Linda in a beautiful and rustic accommodation with a pretty garden. The location was very nice. The breakfast was terrific (thanks, Linda!) and offered the opportunity to have good conversations with the other guests in the house originating from all sorts of different places. The room and the whole house were very clean. Very nice to have options to get drinks during the stay. Great value for money; compliments! Nothing we didn't like.
- Felicity (10/5): Beautiful house, lovely people, great muffins - A real home from home — if your home is a lovely mid-Victorian in a beautiful setting with a porch swing and a roll-top bath. We arrived with 15 minutes notice in the pouring rain, utterly soaked to the skin, and Linda and Rick could not have been kinder or more generous and really went out of their way for us. Hot baths, comfortable bed and a really excellent breakfast complete with homemade blueberry muffins warm from the oven, could not recommend this place highly enough! Nothing
- Lisa (10/5): Best bed and breakfast we’ve ever had. - The owners are the nicest people. They make you feel so welcome. And the breakfasts were fabulous!! We liked everything.
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional - We liked very much our stay in Clary Lake Bed and Breakfast. It is very lovely house, well decorated, situated in the very beautiful aria. 1 min walk to the crystal water lake where you can swim (if weather permitted), kayak or just seat by the lake and enjoy the view.
House was very clean. Linda is a very good host. We enjoyed our conversations with Linda.
We would definitely recommend Clary Lake Bed and Breakfast.
- Alyre (8/5): An amazing place ! - The setting was beautiful and the breakfast was marvelous.
- Lipski (10/5): Exceptional -
- Devin (10/5): It was a beautiful place to stay. - Felt like home. They were very loving and caring. Breakfast was a delight! Planning on visiting again soon! I wish we could have a tv in the room.
- Marcia (10/5): LOVED this B&B! - Linda and Rick could not have been more friendly and welcoming! Their beautiful home was shared as if we were friends. We were able to use the living room as if it were our own, and our room was extremely comfortable. We were treated to a delicious breakfast each day with freshly baked muffins (we could smell them baking!), yogurt, fresh fruit, and a boiled egg, along with great coffee.
Linda gave us some advice for spots to visit (especially Pemaquid Point Lighthouse), and the B&B is not far from the best lobster place we found on our trip: Young's Lobster Pound in Belfast. Never had better, fresher lobster anywhere.
The B&B location was several miles from area cities, which turned out to be a plus - so peaceful! We stayed for three days and were centrally-located for reaching all directions in the state of Maine. We highly recommend this B&B! Everything was great for us, but if you are someone who likes to just "run to the store" for something, you'd have to plan ahead and stop at a store before arriving!! It would be worth it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Absolutely Charming! - Loved our stay at Clary Lake B&B! The house is absolutely charming, as were the hosts. Breakfast included homemade muffins & crepes! I rate this 5 out of 5 stars for comfort, cleanliness, and charm!
- Brian (10/5): - Absolutely amazing b&b the detail in the decor is fantastic. Everything is homemade and soo comfy, breakfast was fresh fruit and freshly baked blueberry muffins d oxo oxo
- 🦁🐵999 (9/5): Beautiful house and very nice host. - The house is a very nice decoration, so I can see how much Linda and Rick put in an effort on it. Linda was very nice and very kindness and looked after us very well. Thsnk you Linda and Rick. The room was a little small for us, but it was a very nice decoration.
- Carole (10/5): - Such a beautiful home. Hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly. Linda made a fabulous breakfast, which unfortunately had to rush, as we had made a reservation for a cog train, and hadn't planned the timing correctly. They gave us a go-bag to take anything we wanted. The gardens were stunnind.
- Patience (10/5): - Excellent breakfast and great hosts. It was in a lovely area. I highly recommend staying here.
- Jase (8/5): Very good -
- Geoff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (9/5): Loved the homey atmosphere and the surrounding countryside was beautiful! - The breakfast was more than ample and the host catered to a number of tastes and allergy (GF) wonderful muffins!
Very spacious rooms and the shared bath was not a problem. If the weather had remained hot an air conditioner might have been needed.
- Paul (10/5): An authentic BnB experience in Maine. - Super genuine BnB feel, adorable hosts, beautiful rooms, real "at-home" feel, and a very nice breakfast to top it off!
- ELIZABETH (10/5): - The owner, Linda and Rick are very nice, made us fell special setting up the breakfast ready to enjoy the homemade muffins that Linda made. The house is very clean.
- BARBARA (10/5): Delightful - The hosts were very delightful. Breakfast was a great balance of fresh fruits, carbs and protein. Very charming setting. Gorgeous bathroom.
- Patricia (10/5): I can’t wait to go back! - Beautiful, clean and peaceful! A bit hotter than expected in Maine but the room fan was helpful.
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Estuardo (10/5): It has been a very pleasant stay, we have been very happy with our stay, we highly recommend it. - We really liked the house, it is very nice.
The kindness of the hosts and the tips and ideas they share with the guests have made a very pleasant impression on us.
Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade muffins.

- Kim (7/5): Good -
- Benjamin (8/5): Very good - Breakfast and location were great The bed was a bit small for two people and the upstairs room was quite hot all night
- Frazier (10/5): I was warmly welcomed right away when I arrived, should I come this way again I would love another stay - I arrive on a misty wet evening so I did not get to admire this old farmhouse turned in to a comfortable B&B surrounded by flowers and a gardenplot Nothing negative
- Richard (5/5): Didn’t sleep much - Everything Bed wasn’t comfortable , no AC .
- Cindy (10/5): Classic bnb in Maine with great hosts - I loved the old style bnb with great breakfast, sitting all together for breakfast was lovely.
Rooms country size homey.
Great host very kind. Loved it

- Noam (10/5): Like staying in a painting. Perfect in any way - Wow. Like staying in a painting. Everything was perfect. From the bedroom, shower and breakfast. So neatly arranged and decorated. It’s visible a lot of love and attention was put into this home. Nothing. It was perfect
- Jeremy (10/5): - Fantastic experience, beautiful place in a fantastic part of Maine. So quiet, so comfortable, so many stars in the sky, and less than 30 mins from MANY places on the coast!
- Colleen (10/5): Lovely little gem for a peaceful getaway! - Very quaint and peaceful. Lovely porch to enjoy the cool morning weather of summer and the grounds are beautifully landscaped.
- Paul (10/5): A delightful experience. We would certainly stay here again. - The breakfast spread was wonderful. The smell of home baked goodies drifting into our room made it difficult to wait until actual breakfast time…but it was well worth the wait.
- Kathleen (10/5): - The B&B was quiet and casual, with gardens and open space, and we woke up to birds singing. The hosts were friendly and gave guests plenty of room to do their own thing, and they had their own living areas. The 1850s-something farmhouse was genuine and not fussy or overly decorated. Many nice places to eat were available 20 minutes away down pleasant rural roads. Local healthy delis with local fare weren't open the day we were there. Breakfast was not fussy and delicious, with many options, and in a pleasant setting on an enclosed porch surrounded by trees and shrubs and flowers, and more birds!
- Robert (6/5): Pleasant -
- Maryann (9/5): Lovely stay by the lake - Large and airy, the room is very comfortable and nicely decorated. The bathroom is excellent and the homemade muffins at breakfast were delicious. The hosts are most welcoming.
- Kb1owb (8/5): I've stayed here twice and will likely return for next year's event. - Breakfast was ample and tasty - especially the homemade apple cider! The location was easy to get to and very close to the event I attended. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the hosts were helpful. Bedside alarm clock wasn't set to the correct time and resetting it wasn't intuitive. I appreciated the USB plugs, but it took a long time to charge my devices.
On the day of my stay the weather was unseasonably cold and wet, and I felt the room was inadequately heated.
- F (10/5): would definitely stay again - great homey feeling, the place was immaculately clean, we could stay on the porch, great area. shared bathroom was lovely and again very clean.
I had the loveliest of time there, talking with other guests who were super nice, and the hosts were very kind as well. breakfast was awesome
- Sharek (9/5): Very enjoyable. Highly recommend. - Breakfast was very good
- Abby (10/5): A peaceful, great spot to stay on the way to Acadia National Park - Linda and Rick were so hospitable and the breakfast was amazing!
- ROSS (10/5): - I didn't dislike ANYTHING about this letter-perfect facility. It was TOP-NOTCH in every respect. And I especially enjoyed getting to know Linda and Rick, the husband-and-wife-team who've been operating the B&B for 20 years. Really they couldn't be more professional, accessible, caring, and attentive to detail. And they're fine, warm-hearted, caring, intellectually sophisticated, and yet entirely unpretentious people. And what a beautiful facility! I don't know what they could have done to make my stay more rewarding, other than allowing me to stay there year around at no charge. Only in my dreams.
