- W0nderGuest (8/5): Simple, clean hotel with great service - My partner and I had a really wonderful 3-night stay at this hotel in November. It’s situated right in the middle of Ortigia, but on a quiet enough street to avoid the hustle and bustle of the tourists and restaurants. The Good: The lady working at reception was incredibly friendly, professional and polite. She was super helpful in answering any questions we have. The hotel uses WhatsApp to communicate with guests and are very responsive on the messages; helping us find parking, getting our car permission to drive on the island. When checking in she recommended restaurants, took out a map and drew us the routes to the major sites and informed us of their opening hours. So thoughtful. As for the rooms… (we stayed in one with a terrace) for two nights and extended our stay for a third night on the ground floor (for handicapped guests)… beautifully white, clean and simple. We asked for hard or memory foam pillows, which were available. Excellent! Both rooms had great showers, an extensive range of tv channels, great coffee maker, fridges with complimentary water and lovely pepper scented shampoo. Access was easy, and check-in and check-out were super smooth. The Bad: Not a lot to complain about, other than the ground floor apartment having quite a strong damp smell; which may actually be a feature of Ortigia, being such an old stone city, so close to the sea.

The stairs were tricky but it's an old building anyway. The staff were so helpful carrying the luggage up and down though.

- smagas (10/5): Quiet central location with amazing staff - Probably the best option in Syracuse. Right in the heart of the city — all the restaurants are within a 5–10 minute walk. At the same time, it’s located on a quiet street, so you can sleep peacefully in the evenings and at night. And the staff here are absolutely wonderful and friendly! We really enjoyed our stay and had a great time. The only thing to note — the stairs are quite steep and relatively narrow (which is typical for historic buildings). My knees are fine, but it’s something to keep in mind. I didn’t use an elevator — it might not be there, or maybe it is, I’m not sure.

The room we had, had a patio area and we were able to sit out for breakfast. The receptionists were friendly incredibly helpful, and excellently organised, giving us useful information as to where to eat, shop and things to see. We used their suggested car parking valet service at €25 euros per nights stay.

Inoltre, nella nostra camera avevamo un phon non funzionante abbiamo provato a scrivere ma quel punto nessuna risposta dalle 20.30 al giorno dopo alle 10.00. Quindi zero risoluzione problemi. La risposta, inoltre, è stata forse dovevi accendere il bottone, no il phon si surriscaldava e si spegneva ed era anche pericoloso. Un altro dettaglio camera prenotata per 4 e abbiamo trovato 2 capsule per il caffè, il servizio della macchinetta quindi é al 50%? Se fosse gestito meglio, sarebbe un posto davvero piacevole

Chambre très propre et très bien équipé. Immeuble esthétiquement très bien rénové. Les chambres situées sur le palier sont mal isolées des bruits intérieurs : la porte d'entrée de la chambre ne constitue pas une bonne isolation phonique. Les fenêtres, bien qu'esthétiquement bien refaites et disposant d'un double vitrage sont malheureusement mal jointoyées et perdent de ce fait toute leur efficacité d'isolation phonique avec l'extérieur.
