• ScottS89 (2/5): I'm done with Best Western - We have been committed to the Best Western brand since 2018. We didn't get to the Diamond status by accident. The customer service, cleanliness of the property and the maintenance and upkeep of equipment and property have continued to become a major problem at Best Western hotels. There is very little that I look forward to when staying at BW. Very limited food options were available. Just the same ol' Best Western breakfast. Not very good to eat or look at. The toilet had not been cleaned and had poop stuck to the top of the rim. None of the drains drained. The shower head needed to be cleaned as there were only half of the holes that had water coming out. All the corners of the room had dirt. The sheets seemed "pilly" and not a fresh new feel to them. There was dirt/sand in the elevator and other corners in the hotel. The first thing the Desk Clerk said was "Do I have a pet?" (I did not). Not "welcome" or "Thank you for selecting Best Western". She was very difficult to understand. She didn't acknowledge my Diamond Status. All in all this has become more normal at most of the Best Western Hotels. The quality and Customer Service continues to deteriorate. This will be the last time I will choose to stay at a Best Western Hotel.

• Stephen (9/5): Highly recommend this Best Western South Ea - Cleanest stay I have had at any hotel by far. Loved the tile floors. Thus no stale carpet smell. Very comfortable stay! Great breakfast. Quiet room. Our dog did not feel the need to bark related to strange noises. Very nice staff. Everything was in excellent condition, even though it was a pet friendly room.. Towels and linens white and fresh. Affordable compared to other hotels in the proximity. Lighting over the bed was lacking in our room. Bit hard to read in low light. Very minor issue though! Was at a busy location, but convenient for shopping. Felt safe there.

I was not allowed to have the room I chose and paid for because I had a small dog. He could not adjust the price because it was booked 3rd party and paid for ahead. So instead of a king suite we got 2 double bed room. Front desk was very argumentative. I said not my problem who they list with theirs and I was upfront with our dog and they accepted the reservation! I will never stay in a best western again! Not pet friendly. Which is understandable since they don’t clean the rooms well so they limit what rooms can have a pet.

There were obvious and multiple hairs in my bathtub when I checked in and a smear of peanut butter on the wall near the door. The coffee machine also looked a bit questionable so I didn't use it. I also randomly got locked out of my room at one point and had to get my key refreshed by the front desk, but it took calling the hotel from my cell phone in order to get anyone to come to the front.

• Tour00600254743 (8/5): 4.5 stars hotel - This hotel was very clean and the shower was really nice with plenty of hot water. we just had a standard room and it was fine, however we had to go out and buy pillows as the ones they provide were the size of a larger throw pillow, smaller than a standard size pillow. very uncomfortable. Never saw staff the two days we were there except checking in. If you wanted a cocktail/beer you had to ring a bell. I thought that was less than professional. The breakfast was just ok but very limited and out of items. good area and lots of shopping/restaurants near by. not too far from downtown area. overall would still give this a 4.5 stars. and would stay there again.

• Howard (7/5): The staff is terrible. Do not recommend. - The breakfast was pretty standard. Nothing special but also subpar to other BWs we’ve stayed at in the past We checked in around 1:30 am. The front door was locked and calls to the hotel from our cellphone went unanswered. Finally after 6 minutes someone emerged from the back room of the reception desk and unlocked the door. The person was rude and instead of apologizing he pointed at a wall mounted phone suggesting that was what we should have used to call. There are no instructions to do so either in the emails of by the front entrance. The person seemed high or drunk and didn’t want to be there. Eventually we got checked in but my drivers license was not returned to me by this person. The day after when we check out and was on the ride I received a call from another person telling me that they had my drivers license. I asked them to mail it to me and it seemed like it was a bother to them. I did receive the drivers license in the mail after about 10 days. The address was poorly written and the stste Minnesota was written as MI instead of MN (a state that is less than an hour away from this site!).

• jrS1430IK (2/5): Extraordinarily bad - I had the most extraordinarily bizarre experience at this hotel. It was not good. Mostly unremarkable until checkout where it took a hard turn. I was ready to head out about 6am and needed a receipt. No one at the desk. Waited a few minutes but needed to get on the road. There was a person going back and forth in the breakfast area but no one else around. I went and knocked on the kitchen door and found a man watching TV and arranging slices of bread on a tray. I said ‘Good morning – is there someone who can help me with checkout? I need a receipt.’ And the guy sighed heavily – like actually huffed – ripped off his gloves and threw them and headed out to the front desk. ‘Room number’ he said. I gave it to him. He briefly checked the computer and, walking back to the kitchen, said ‘if you didn’t have one under your door the hotel doesn’t print you one. It’ll be emailed.’ He was almost back to the kitchen and I said ‘thanks for your help’. His reply was ‘thanks for your common sense.’ Common sense about the receipt? Still unsure. It got worse from there. He was so angry it was ridiculous. I do not know about what, but I can’t believe the way he treated me. I still needed to understand why I couldn’t get a receipt and he told me I must have made the reservation through a third party. I let him know I didn’t use a third party and then he just started pretending I wasn’t there. Full on ignoring me like a little child. Weird. The only thing I can figure about the receipt is that I used rewards points for part of the stay. Otherwise there was nothing unusual about it. Reservation made through bestwestern.com. Also, he was wrong. I never received a receipt by email either. I want to be very clear that this was not your typical disinterested/rude type of poor service. It was full on emotional meltdown disdain and anger. This dude has no business working in hospitality and I’m still a little shocked about the whole thing. I didn’t deserve to be treated that way. No one does. If you would like to be treated with basic human decency consider any other option.

Our bathroom floor was in need of a heavy duty cleaning and mostof the bathroom fixtures were falling off the wall. Just a bit of TLC needed overall.

• Kristi (8/5): Nice stop on a long trip - This hotel was very welcoming and was kept up and appeared to be newly remodeled.
• Audrey (7/5): Nice, overall - The staff was very helpful, the beds were comfortable, shower had good pressure, and the location was excellent (close to stores and restaurants). The breakfast was not good. There was not enough parking. We were out late at a festival, and when we returned, there were no parking spots. The front desk person told me to use a handicap space, which I was not comfortable with, so he promised I would not have an issue if I made my own parking space, by the drop off area. My daughter thought the room "smelled funny".
• Jackie (10/5): - Very good location, easy access to any stores needed. Very good hot breakfast. Clean, updated and quiet location. I would definitely recommend.
• Julianna (4/5): not impressed - The business centre not usable, garbage and diapers in the hallway, no coffee or anything before 6:30 and we had to leave early. Staff would not even consider a change in room even though the hotel was next to empty.

• 850mitchellg (6/5): Comfortable Stay - Some Room for Improvement - This Best Western checks all the boxes for a decent guest experience: comfortable bed, clean room, and good location. It didn't blow me away, but it was perfectly fine for a short stay. The hotel is located off I-94 on the south side of town, and there are multiple restaurants and stores within a five-minute drive. There is also a Chinese restaurant next door. I would not describe the service as over-the-top, but the staff were efficient and polite. We stayed in a standard room with two queen beds, which was very clean (no cleanliness issues of any type!) and appeared to be renovated recently. However, our room (318) had a faint cigarette odor upon arrival. When I reported it, they sprayed air freshener, which removed the worst of the smell. Other: 1. This hotel has a bar in the lobby where you can purchase alcoholic beverages, as well as a few slot machines. We did not use these features. 2. They have a free breakfast, but the food quality was mediocre overall. It fills the gap, but I've seen much better at other Best Westerns. 3. Two of the garbage cans were overflowing during our entire stay. This hotel is not perfect by any means, but it is reasonably priced and clean. If you are looking for a higher-class or brand new hotel, you will probably want to look at another property. A few improvements could make this an excellent option. They provide the basics, and I would consider staying here again.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient stay - Good location near a lot of good shops and food. There are gambling machines in the bar area which was strange. The hotel is slightly dated but was clean and met our needs.

• Patricia (9/5): Id stay again. - Clean! No odors. No sticky floors. Breakfast didn’t change over a week’s time, but milk was cold and eggs were warmed through.
