Dawn (7/5): My daughter and I just came to town to do activities around Mount Shasta. We wanted someplace that we could photograph t - The cabin was very quiet, which is nice and peaceful . I like how close we were to Mount Shasta. Parking was adequate and included in price. Although I didn’t use them, I saw BBQ’s in the court yard. The coffee mugs are adorable, I wanted one! There is a car wash close by obstructing view to the mountain. Also, the deck was not a private one as I originally thought. The gas fireplace didn’t work that well (could barely see a flame) and the fan above the bed had two speeds, full-on or stop, no in between. I would’ve liked a bar of soap for the bathtub.

Gerardo (10/5): Best Time Ever! - I loved my entire stay, we have been going to McCloud to camp every year for 6 years and this was the first time we decided to get a room at the lodge it was amazing I loved the room and how close you are to downtown McCloud, in the morning we were able to enjoy the local culture and being only 12 minutes outside of Mt Shasta made accessibility to the bigger city very easy, i am looking to book a room every time they are available Nothing it was great

Vitalii (7/5): - Awesome exterior design - picture that helped me to choose it and fair price overall. The pictures do not reflect the actual size of the 'cabins.' A family of four simply does not have enough space to live in these rooms; they are only suitable for sleeping. Also, be advised that there is no stove or nearby eatery, so bring food that only needs to be heated in a microwave. Finally, since there is no dishwasher in the room, the cleanliness of the kitchenware is questionable.
Sirkku (9/5): - Room was very cozy and beautifully furnished. Room was easy to access and instructions were good for the keybox and for everything else too. Room was warm and nice. There was dust on the tables and on bed linen, but everything else was very tidy and clean. So cleaning could be more careful. Room was very compact for 3 people and there was difficulties to place the luggage. Fire place did not work even we followed the instructions.

Michelle (9/5): Recommend for solo travelers looking for a peaceful time - Great location (about 13 miles from downtown Mt. Shasta), close to hiking trails. The king suite was as described with amenities. The best part was the view of Mt. Shasta from the suite. The room could've used some sweeping, especially around the bed. The mattress was a bit soft for me, and there were too many pillows (not a big deal, but I would prefer having them stored away). Also, not related to the lodge, but McCloud is a very small town, so the few shops/cafes close early (before/around 5pm), except for one hotel restaurant so plan accordingly.

ph001c (9/5): Great cottages for a short fishing trip mixed with remote work - Great little cottages across the road from historic McCloud and on the same road to access public fishing on the McCloud near Ah Di Na campground. Cottages share a wall but my neighbors were quiet. The cabins are close enough to 89 that you can hear big truck (logging) noise from the road. Being from SoCal it's not obtrusive but it's not super-quiet-in-the-woods. There is no staff available on site. It is not a full-service accommodation. My room did not have tissues but it did have tongs, but no kitchen except for a microwave, sink and fridge. Curious. Internet was great. I worked a half day and had multiple Teams calls/meeting without interruption. I was also able access files on my companies server without problem. It's personal preference but the bed and pillows were way too soft for me. (I sleep on a firm memory foam mattress at home with buckwheat husk pillow.) Not a knock on the property but important to note: dining options are limited in McCloud and close early or have odd hours so plan ahead.

Gail (8/5): We liked the room and would probably stay again if in the area. - The room was very modern and relatively new. Nicely equipped kitchen and even a stackable washer/dryer. We were in cabin 8 which had a nice private deck with a partial view of Mt Shasta. There isn’t an on-site manager so if you have an issue it may take some time to resolve the problem. Two different groups had a problem with not receiving their code to get in their room after booking online and paying for it. We were asked both times if we could help them- but we couldn’t.

Nelli (9/5): Empfehlenswerter Zwischenstopp - Sehr - sehr süß eingerichtet - mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Man hat einen Blick auf den Mount Shasta und die Lage selbst ist sehr ruhig. Es ist ein „selbst Check Inn“ der relativ gut funktioniert. Wir hatten 2 Zimmer gebucht und uns wurden leider nur die Daten von einem Zimmer geschickt, allerdings war dies ein Problem von Booking. Wir waren als „Durchreisende „ unterwegs und für die Anzahl der Personen war es ein guter Preis. Allerdings steht das Verhältnis vom Chalet zum King Zimmer nicht ganz. Das Chalet war als 2 Zimmer angegeben allerdings war alles sehr offen gestaltet. Das King Bett war im Ess/Wohnbereich. Diese Unterkunft ist wirklich weiter zu empfehlen aber wir denken das es schon hilfreich wäre, vorher zu wissen, das es keine „abschließbaren“ Räume sind. Die Teppiche waren leider nicht „gut“ gesaugt.

The outdoor space is truly a highlight — spacious, well-maintained, and featuring excellent and fully functional grills that made cooking outdoors a breeze. Enjoying a meal with the stunning view of Mount Shasta in the background was unforgettable. Inside, the home is clean and spacious and gives off a warm, cozy, and homy atmosphere. The fireplace added the perfect touch of comfort, and the bathtub was a great way to unwind after a day of hiking or exploring. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a base for outdoor adventures, this place strikes the perfect balance. I would absolutely stay here again! n/a

The backyard offers BBQs with a wonderful and peaceful view on the Mt Shasta! Each time we go there, we feel like home and always sad to leave. People and employees are welcoming, helpful and responsive. Looking forward to going back there!

Trista (10/5): We really had a great stay; I travel solo with my son who has special needs which is already a challenge but staying a p - Definitely one of the cleanest, well kept properties I’ve stayed at, amazing WiFi, very easy self/contactless check in, great location! Excellent & impressive temp control for heating and cooling down the room quickly. Oh, and AMAZINGLY comfortable bed. I actually took a picture of the tag to look into buying one for myself. Great place! Not really much to complain about. I will say, the only thing I might like to have had in the room was hooks to hang coats up above the mat for your shoes and maybe on the door. Also, maybe brighter lights in the kitchen area would be nice.

flowerkidd (10/5): Fabulous, practical place! - It’s next to Mt. Shasta Ski Park!! There are yummy food options next door and the grill was great! Spacious cabin that allowed the 4 of us to spread out. This is our second time staying here. The people that manage the cabins are super helpful. We will be back for a 3rd stay soon :)

DAVID_RAINMAN (10/5): Great Winter Solitary Retreat or Summer Wedding Venue - This is the kind of place you don't want to write too nice a review about for fear of it being "discovered" and then you can't get reservations. Seriously, wonderful. Hiked the McCloud falls bottom to top in thigh deep snow. Absolutely gorgeous.
Lan (9/5): Superb - The room is warm and comfortable, fully equipped, with convenient parking and close to the ski resort. The lodge offers self-check-in for travelers arriving by car from other places. If you have any problems, you can contact the staff at any time and they will respond promptly. The exhaust fan in the bathroom makes a very loud noise and seems not to be working properly, which makes the bathroom rather damp. It is suggested that it be checked for any possible malfunction.

sivartn2024 (10/5): We had a great time . Clean and quiet. - Real up to date with lamps with usb ports and c style ports in the lamp.side table s of the bed in room #3 nice touch . They stayed in contact with host .so we got to extend our trip for another day and it was so easy . We sure do love mccloud and it small-town feeling and the people who work here were nice and professional with good vibes.
pfefmeister (10/5): Great Value - I really liked my stay at Shasta View Lodge. Spent five nights in Cabin #2 which was large and comfortable. Liked the refrigerator and microwave and Keurig coffee. Oversized bathroom, great king size bed, wonderful outdoor spaces. Weekends are booked up in advance, but more openings during the week. I’ll definitely be back since it’s also great value.
