- brooke (10/5): great location, good veiws, nice rooms, very clean! - the views, easy check in, and nice location ! the entrance
- Peter (5/5): Decent Place to Stay While in LA - The location was very convenient for my needs. I needed to go to Pasadena and Torrance and this place was kinda in the middle which was really nice. Going to and from Pasadena and Torrance, I was only stuck in traffic for 50 minutes at most. Most of the time, my travels went pretty smoothly. The interior was very clean and homey. My partner and I were placed in a disabled room which was very spacious! I cannot say how spacious the other rooms are though. I'm not a big fan of the lack of parking. You would park in the back and there are only three spots. The walls are also pretty thin so you can hear people walking above you or in the hallway. Management was not responsive via phone call; they are mostly responsive via text. I was hoping for a small safe or something to store important items I wouldn't need, but there was no place to keep important items.
- Riddhi Ravi (7/5): overall- good! - Room was great. Great value for money. It felt more like an airbnb than a hotel
- Kathleen (10/5): Great location easy access to area attractions - Very helpful staff. I had to call a few times to get issues addressed and the women who answered red the calls was veryy patientl and helpful No coffee maker
- Barbara (7/5): - Limpeza da casa de banho
- Paul (9/5): -
- Mo (10/5): Fantastic - Great property and great value for money Clean, well located and great host
- Karla (7/5): I liked the room, and it was convenient where the location was maybe pricing should go down a bit considereding we had t - I liked that it was fairly close to everything such as, places to eat, stores, etc.. I didn’t like that there isn’t enough parking if they are renting rooms maybe they should have enough parking it’s ridiculous.
- Delphia (7/5): I book this place annually because it is walking distance to Dodger Stadium. It is a great location - The room is so cute and has all you need. The people above me were not the quietest, but it is to be expected. The bed was not that comfortable and you have to be strategic with parking. The first night I was able to get a spot behind the house, but the rest of the stay I had to search for parking.
- Camila (10/5): Nice place, just contact me please I Ieft my necklace there! 🩷 - The place is beautiful and super clean! It’s well located — I totally recommend it! I just wish I could get in touch with the people who manage it. I forgot a small necklace in the room, and they found it and kept it in a locker. However, I no longer have access to the conversation on Booking to arrange picking it up. Could you please contact me at my personal number: +52 998 496 8803
- Alvise (9/5): -
- Jeff (10/5): Great stay for a Dodger Game! - Great location and kind host!
- Daniel (4/5): If the shower had worked this - Location, rooms, interior No hot water for a couple of days. House is poorly sound proofed. Outdoor area is too small to enjoy. Very poor communication: no front desk or personnel on site. There’s a number to call/text but that didn’t work properly either.
They said they’ll compensate me for the hot water not working properly. We’ll see if that happens.
- Sarah (8/5): -
- Alexandre (10/5): - Nice, clean, great location and vue from the patio.
I really recommend this place
- Benjamin (9/5): -
- Annike (7/5): Definitely your best Echo Park option - We wanted to be centrally located in Echo Park, and that’s exactly what we got. Nice building, layout, design and room. Very convenient and worth the price. The door code panel of our room was faulty, so requiring A LOT of fidgeting. The coffee setup was lacking, and the patio/garden unfinished.
- Norma Jean (8/5): -
- Fadiya (9/5): -
- Nikola (7/5): - Location is cool. Room is well equipped and spacious, but a bit dark. Not sure this should be listed as a hotel - it's a house with a joint kitchen where you rent a room. The sound isolation is non-existent, so the stay was pretty uncomfortable in that regard. Typing in two lock codes when coming and going is pretty annoying.
- Matthew (8/5): Clean, convenient location, exactly what was needed. - Bed was squeaky and too firm
- Amy (8/5): Clean and comfortable at a convenient location. - It’s a very convenient location. It’s clean and a little secluded from the street. Can be a little loud. I also wish the outside door locked automatically. You’re at the mercy of the person who leaves ahead of you on whether or not the front door gets locked.
- sharon (10/5): Excellent place for the location and value. - The room is well appointed and super clean. The common area and deck were comfortable, and super clean. Lots of natural light. I wasn't expecting the great kitchen or washer and dryer Neighbor hood can be noisy. Parking is very limited
- Antoine (8/5): -
- Corey (10/5): -
- Alexandra (9/5): Can’t wait to stay again! - Great location and value.
Nice views of the city. Walking distance to several restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.
Easy to get a hold of management by text.
Has a full kitchen in the common area and a patio. The front door sticks and at times was difficult to open. Which is frustrating when you’re hot, tired, and just want to escape the sun/heat.
- Gina (10/5): -
- Javi (10/5): Top - Todo. Nada.
- Daria (9/5): -
- Dave and Gail (8/5): Will stay again next time in LA - The bed in room 3 was too low. No chair in room.
- PinoJazz (9/5): - Posizione ottima vicino Echo Park
- Davide (8/5): -
- Agustina (10/5): Everything Excellent, I would absolutely recommend - Clean, you have everything you need, echo park is a really nice place to stay, the accommodation is quiet and beautiful
- Donna (10/5): A very convenient place to stay. - Clean, modern, location The rooms can use better lighting, too dim in the room at night.
- Vernon (10/5): Beautiful setting - Location is great. Walking distance to many bars and eateries. A lot of stairs to climb. Definitely not ADA compliant.
- Juan (10/5): Close to a lot of locations even close to things in downtown LA. Clean and nice looking room better than a hotel room. - We stayed at this place to attend a festival being held just a few blocks away it was perfect for what we needed. A close walk to the festival, a clean place to sleep, and a nice location. Email or text or even call if you need assistance they will do their best to accommodate you! N/A
- Adrian (9/5): Lovely place, perfect location! - Location was perfect Would like internal latch for both doors
- Noah (10/5): Amazing Location! - The location of the home was wonderful and the host was great! Very respectful and replies in a timely manner :) N/A
- Charles (7/5): Not Bad - Amazing location and well put together.
Overall a nice quiet stay in a good area. Smaller than expected and the toilet hadn't been cleaned, hosts were unresponsive and no iron.
- Timothy (10/5): Loved this property would stay again - Location was superior
- James (8/5): Very good - Facilities in good condition. Private bathrooms plus shared kitchen is good value for the money. Accessible lockers outside is really helpful for flexible checkin and checkou The pots, pans, knives in the kitchen were super beat up and almost unusable.
- Q9330OOcatherinem (2/5): Terrible experience - They double billed me for a $750 stay and have refused to refund me for THEIR error. Seven months later they refuse to answer calls and letters. This place is also not nearly as nice as the pictures suggest. The front faces a street lined with old vehicles inhabited by homeless people. The rear faces trash barrels frequented by coyotes. Very scary. No staff on site, and minimal room cleaning, leaving dusty surfaces, used coffee cups not cleaned or even moved to the sink…. Shower door missing a handle; we found the broken handle under the bathroom sink. Don’t recommend a stay here.
- Erin (1/5): I walked into building and decided immediately not to stay. It appeared clean but the location was secluded and felt uns - It’s not ideal for solo female travelers. This is an Airbnb hostel with no staff on site.
- Kara (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anne (10/5): With family within walking distance this works really well. - Room and comman areas Parking, you just have to get lucky.
- Carlos (9/5): Superb -
- Bronwyn (9/5): 10/10 would recommend - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. The property was clean and had all the facilities we needed. The process from check in to check out was pretty seamless and the host/staff were great. No complaints. Just one thing to keep in mind if you don’t have a car and will be using Ubers etc - the property is a little tricky to get to. In our experience it helps to request the ride at the back of the property (where you’ll be picked up) as it provides a more accurate pick up location.
- Adam (9/5): Superb - Great location for Dodgers Stadium. Great communication. Nice room and updated bathroom. Bed was a bit uncomfortable and shower took a bit to get warm but not deal breakers at all.
- Brendan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Fern (7/5): Cute property, great location, but no sound insulation and not super clean... - Nice to have a kitchen and laundry, and as someone who's lived in LA, Sunset Hill is a cute spot to be staying in off Sunset but on its own little hidden path. If it was super cheap for my travel dates I'd stay again. Other guests mentioned the sound problems and I agree, this is worse than most places (you can hear the guest in the next room even whispering), and folks going up the stairs to get to their rooms etc). Also, common spaces are not super clean.
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Delphia (8/5): Great location for Dodger games. The room is cute and has what you need - The room was super cute and had everything we needed. The location was great for our purpose. At night it would be nice to have more light out front. We had no problem parking but it is very limited.
- Lauren (5/5): A beautiful place in a rough area - The management were very accomodating of moving me to a ground level room at the last minute and able to get me into the room ahead of check in time. The facilities were very clean the staff were very thorough. No cooling or ventilation in the room itself, the accomodation is not very accessible if you are carrying 23kg of luggage, luckily the staff were able to move me to a room on the ground floor otherwise I would not have been able to get my luggage up two whole flights of stairs, it being my first time in LA and my first exposure to the USA, the area it’s in it’s a bit sketchy, on the route out to the street I often passed used toilet paper and human faeces.
- Simon (3/5): Good Location, But Cleanliness Needs Serious Improvement - Great area to stay Unfortunately, the place was not clean at all. The floor was very dirty, and we even found a bunch of hair in the shower drain, which was quite off-putting. On top of that, the bed sheet was dirty when we arrived, which made it hard to feel comfortable.
We only stayed for two nights and were honestly relieved to leave afterwards. The photos online are nicely staged – very “Instagram 2017” – but the reality doesn’t quite match. The furniture feels worn, the paint is peeling off in places (like the tap and bed), and overall, it feels a bit neglected.
I’d only recommend this place for a short overnight stay if you really want to be near Silver Lake – but don’t expect much comfort or cleanliness.
- Diamonnie (10/5): Relaxing & quiet - Everything was so convenient and close by. Building and rooms was so clean. Room service made sure bed was made and clean towels 🫶🏽🖤
- Eric (6/5): aesthetically pleasing, but lacking on substance - The location was excellent, and we had no problem with parking. The facility was very clean, and appeared as described. The balcony was a nice touch for breakfasts. There is virtually no sound insulation, so you will hear other people walking around, in the kitchen, etc., and they will hear you. The kitchen is clean but sparse - don't expect a full set of cooking implements, and we had a hard time finding any kind of knife (turns out there was one butter knife and one chef's knife, but they were missing a few of the days).
The room looked nice, but lacking in thoughtful details. For example, the shower door, when opened fully, hit the light switch in the bathroom, turning it off. The bed was very creaky and the mattress is not what I would expect from a modern facility. The side table was pretty but very wobbly. The AC unit seemed to work only minimally.
DEFINITELY not a place to stay if you are mobility impaired. The alley is treacherous, and the front walk is a liability nightmare. Hallway lights leading to our room didn't work.
They use some kind of scent diffuser, which makes the whole place smell like a clothing boutique. Not a bad smell, but pervasive, including in the room. We had to put the diffusers under the bathroom sink b/c the smell was making us sneeze in the room, and was very strong.
Overall, might be a good place to stay if you're single and in town for a longer stint for work or something. For a couple on vacation, it didn't have the comforts that we were hoping for.
- J'lynne (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay here. - The location was great, close to many coffee shops, stores and restaurants. The house itself was very cute and clean. The bedroom was much more spacious than your average hotel. If I were to return to LA I would stay here again! We had a rental and we were always able to find street parking within a block. It's a little tough to find the front of the place but we always went in through the back alley as that was easier for us! There are a couple sketchy RVs parked out front but no one bothered us.
- Diehl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shiaofong (8/5): Good value . - Very clean and modern Walls were very thin. Could hear everyone from next rooms.
- Samuel (9/5): Superb - Perfect for access to East LA, DTLA and the 110 highway (I was travelling to Torrance daily), clean, well presented rooms with all amenities and plenty of space! The Douglas is a great local bar, El Compadre is a wonderful place to eat. Do both. No notes
- Katie (7/5): Over all it was okay.. but could use a little extra care. - Room was comfortable enough for the price. I wasn’t expecting the layout of the building, more of an unmanned bnb with the communal spaces. Very strong smell
Of fabuloso cleaner. The floors in my room felt sticky. Lots of dead bugs on the staircase. Lots of glowing lights in the room at night. Low water pressure in Shower. Handles broken on drawers in room. Parking was tricky in the area
- Adrienne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Patience (1/5): Bad -
- Zhang (10/5): Exceptional - location contactless check-in
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Patience (3/5): Poor - they have parking spots outside the house, the communication with the staff is very fast and they are always there to help. the blinds in my room didn't work, the walls were painted a really really dark black - very gloomy when i came in. scuffs and scratches all over the walls making everything look dirty. OLD FOOD FROM PREVIOUS GUEST IN DRAWERS. i have stayed here before and i have noticed and complained about the cleanliness of it.
the towels are really old like rags, not soft.
the bedding isnt great either. it makes me sad as this place has an amazing location - and in theory should be great.
- 144terries (8/5): Fragrance allergy triggered | "Do not disturb" ignored - Sort of a mixed bag.
On the plus side, I appreciate that my request was granted for a room minimizing the number of stairs to climb/descend. The room was clean and comfortable enough, although I would have liked a desk or even just a small table.
Four things were on the minus side:
1. It was a frustrating wait that added several minutes to my fare, as my ride-share driver tried to locate a non-existent address.
2. Apparently management is unfamiliar with (or indifferent to) fragrance allergies. Mine were triggered as soon as I opened the door by the floral scent of a diffuser. (Allergy aside, flooding the place with fragrance makes me wonder what's being masked.) To make the room habitable, I had to place the diffuser inside a cabinet and air the room by opening the sliding glass door.
3. The cleaners disregarded a “do not disturb” tag I hung on the door the next morning. Not only did they move my belongings that I didn't want moved, but also they took the diffuser out of the cabinet and replaced it on the counter.
4. I emailed management about items 2 and 3 above. No reply.
- Laurie (7/5): Good -
- Vanessa (10/5): Super quiet, elegant stay - It was walkable to everywhere I wanted to go The room temperature was controlled by everyone staying there so it went up and down. Also wasn’t a fan of staying on the first floor cause I couldn’t keep the windows open all day.
- Shendee (9/5): Superb -
- Patience (5/5): Passable -
- Cassi (10/5): It was very nice..The staff was on call everytime we needed them through text messages was nice.. - Everything was nice The parking was kind of frustrating the first night..Then it was better all the other days of our stay..Parking could be better!!
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Surangani (8/5): For the money, accessibility and location are the main issues - Location is Not a good place. Vehicles to reach there. For family members to come pick us up from the main road! Check the
Photo… a lot homeless people around, and filthy walkways!!
- Downs (10/5): Exceptional -
- Britta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Jeongeun (4/5): Wasn't pleasure - We didn’t put any sign on the door, and around 10 a.m., while we were sleeping, the cleaner tried to enter by pressing the door pw. Since we had left a suitcase in front of the door, the door couldn’t completely opened, but if it hadn’t been there, the door would have opened when we are in sleep.
Plus, we didn't put any sign but when we returned, the room had not been cleaned, and although we requested at least a towel replacement, we were denied this service as there were no staff on site, leaving us without towels for a day.
- Emma (9/5): Amazing ! - The property is in a really good location, great terrace and handy to have washing machines on site! The shared kitchen was great for longer stays where you wouldn’t be eating out every night. The facilities in the room was good - small fridge, sink and great bathroom. Just minor things such as a light fixture missing from my room, the locks would sometimes not lock/unlock on the first try but I always got in in the end!
Staff weren’t responsive on the app and instructions to enter the property were unclear
- Lucianne (3/5): Poor -
- Kallie_opie (6/5): Very nice communication staff. Stylish arrangements. Very clean. - Nicely appointed. Comfortable. Proximity to strange sidewalk living arrangements.
- Josefina (8/5): Great place to feel like a local - Design of property and felt like a local staying here Hard to find parking nearby, dark outside house and homeless people around but no one disturbed us and actually helped us find the way so no biggie.
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good - Quiet, clean, comfortable, modern. Very nice place. Noone available by phone.
Lovely room, only needs a couple more welcoming touched to complete the wonderful picture - eg some more tea/coffee offerings & some milk in the fridge, even just long-life carton or some creamers.
- David (6/5): Not bad but definitely worse than expected - Location was good, parking was easy, and it was quiet within the building. Given the price, it's a decent value. - Service was horrible (emails took days, calls were never answered, and there's no one on site)
- It's basically a shared bnb, which is not ideal if you're looking for privacy. Our room was right off of a common area, which made us a little uneasy the whole time
- The room didn't feel clean (stains on the bedding, broken handles on the furniture)
- There was a lack of basic things (no iron, no safe)
- The building didn't feel very secure -- the lock to the building was open several times when we came home (since it relies on people to manually lock it when they leave)
- Michael (10/5): loved LA...close to alot of cool places - great location.
- Pauline (5/5): Passable - Style and furnishing of the place is quite nice. Room was comfortable and quiet. - This is a house divided into airbnb units accessible via code, rather than a hotel. There is nobody to welcome you or answer any questions. They do provide a phone number you can contact for questions, but we never got any response
- Although cleaning was done daily, the room did not feel clean: lots of dust lingering in corners, and the way they cleaned the floor left a messy sticky residue
- You park and enter via a back street that looks very desolate, which is a bit shocking when you arrive (but we didnt have any safety issue). Personally we disliked the overall area (ugly, messy, noisy as soon as you step outside) but that is more of a LA problem than hotel-specific problem
- Konrad (10/5): After initial problems with booking, the stay was perfect -
- Rand (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alicia (6/5): Pleasant house on a hill in Echo Park - The location is great. LOTS of world class shopping, restaurants, and bars within just a couple blocks. Totally walkable. If you’re walking to/from, be prepared to walk up a steep hill with minimal lighting and loose footing. It was a hike whenever we wanted to come home. The people living in the RVs on Sunset are super nice but I personally wouldn’t walk by alone at night. So take the steep footpath or the alley street around them. The size of the room was noteworthy. I appreciated the kitchenette. We were on the bottom floor but I think the top floors would have a great view. Get Ubers to drop you off at the back of the house.
The gentleman cleaning the rooms is a sweetie. I don’t normally leave reviews but I have to say I really didn’t think it was a good value for the price. Very basic like if an airbnb had a baby with a nicer hostel. The IKEA furniture still has its stickers on it. The bed in our room was not balanced. Someone before us had put sugar packets under the legs to balance it. I wasn’t comfortable with this because the risk of it attracting bugs, so I threw it away. Then the bed wobbled at the slightest movement the rest of the weekend.
I didn’t mind the lack of staff onsite and basic nature of it all but could see how people paying $200+ a night could be surprised by that. The locks don’t automatically lock behind you so the front door is only as safe as the most forgetful guest. The location was hard for Ubers to find about 50% of the time so plan to call them earlier in case they can’t find you.
The thermostat is central in the hallway. No AC or even fan in the room. You’re at the will of the other guests who can change the temperature as well. It was a little warm at times because of this.
Most importantly: No warning for the construction on the other side of our wall starting at 8-9 am was a wild way to be woken up a couple of the mornings. It was enough construction that they shouldn’t have booked guests for the weekdays if they were going to have it happening IMO. It was rough to be in town for work but not be able to sleep in after long days.
- LorenzoBandini (8/5): Had a great stay, but this place is not for everyone - Just completed a successful stay at Noon on Sunset Hill. It was a perfect place for us, location wise, but I could see where this place would not satisfy some travelers.
Before I get too far, I will state that this hotel is 100% unacceptable for anyone with mobility issues. If this is you, stop reading now and find another place.
The best way I could describe this is if someone took a 4 bedroom house and turned it into 4 separate Air BNBs. It is not a “hotel” is the modern sense. It has a common kitchen, stocked in the way you would expect an Air BNB might be. It also has a common front porch. The rooms are most like what you might expect in a hotel. All communication is done electronically. There was no staff on site other than housekeeping for a few hours
As stated in other reviews, the walls are quite thin. You will hear outside noise and other guests. We were here when many rooms were empty, so our stay was fine.
This would be a great place to stay for a Dodger game, as the park is easy walking distance.
One final note is… if you plan on simply handing the address off to your ride share driver, you will not be successful. Use the instructions the innkeeper sends you via e-mail on the day of your check in. You either take the stairs at 1428 and take a right at the gated sidewalk… or you go in on the alley literally where Google maps has its red pointer.
All in all, my complaints are minor and I had a successful stay, but if you are expecting a hotel-chain experience you won’t get that here.
- Valeria (10/5): LA cozy stay - Location incredible to live the city. The facility is brand new and modern. The common areas are very big and cozy. We also had a kitchen in our room that we didn’t expect to have and was very handy. Everything is very automatic in the building so didn’t meet the staff but always found our room clean and organised at our come back. Would definitely stay again. Easy also to park around in public spots.
- Valeria (8/5): Nice place - The position is in the nice Angelino Heights neighbourhood, near Echo Park.
The house is recently renewed. The absence of the staff, in the sense that I try to chat with them and nobody answered via the Booking app. But everything worked fine.
- Hermes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roger (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francesco (9/5): Superb - Large clean room, all new A stair to climb, hard if you have heavy bags
- Schumacher (7/5): Comfortable spot in good location - Great location. Clean. Comfortable bed. When I booked it, it wasn’t clear it was a room + bathroom in a large house. Also, bathroom was small compared to a hotel room which is what I was expecting.
