Very creaky floors (to be expected obviously) and the driveway for the place is in a bit of a bad spot when there's traffic and sometimes hard to see if cars are parked next to the sidewalk. Parking in the back can be a bit cramped.

The breakfast was excellent, the Charles House was beautiful. We stayed in the Merlot house, the sister property next to the Charles House. It is interesting, but not as nice. We stayed in the Barrel Room, which is interesting the basement.

Very comfy beds and many pillows of different firmness. Our initial room was a disappointment because it was down in the lowest level of the house and did not have windows to open to the sunlight in. But the rooms were comfortable enough and it was nice to have two rooms connected with the bathroom so we could be together.

The parking space that was provided seemed somewhat cramped — this could possibly be a temporary thing as they were in the middle of some outdoor construction on a patio. I really enjoyed the setup of the bed linens overall ambiance there was an extra here in the closet we woke up to hearing the rain on the skylight we took a dip in the Jacuzzi tub in the room. We are definitely considering staying here for our next anniversary as well There was nothing I didn't like the property was gorgeous.

• Richard (8/5): I had a wonderful time in Napa, and it was great to come back to this place at the end of a wonderful day. I'd consi - The property is an old colonial-type building. It has beautiful charm and it's well kept. It's in a very easy location to access Main Street and all the restaurants. Being an old colonial building, some of the rooms were a bit small, and unfortunately, we were unable to be upgraded. So the bedroom was a bit pokey. However, that didn't detract from the comfort and service offered.

We showed up before check in to store our luggage but because our room was free they let us check in early! Our room was so cute and the breakfast in the morning was so much fun! I loved gathering around a large table with other guests. Also their coffee is amazing! The location is a ten minute walk to downtown Napa and was perfect for exploring the area. HIGHLY recommend

The property is beautiful inside and out, with tasteful décor that highlights its historic charm. Our two-bedroom suite was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was hearty and served in a lovely dining room, which offers the opportunity to meet other guests. There’s also a charming patio area that we didn’t have the chance to use, but would have if we’d stayed longer. The inn truly feels like a warm, cozy home, and its location is perfect, just a short walk to the center of Napa and a 10-15 min. drive to many top wineries. Can't wait to be back! Nothing, everything was great.
• avlokan (6/5): $200/night experience for $500. That’s my takeaway. - To be fair, the facility was clean and functional. But my issue is with the value for price. I paid $500 a night to stay in an old, crumbling room. It was what you would find in a 40+ year old construction. Eg. bathroom tub was cracked, the shower valve was barely functioning, the door lock didn’t work, etc. This is a Napa problem actually. Just spectacularly expensive- which was expected, honestly- but the value for what you pay is just not there. This should have been a <$200 per night experience. Again, no complaints about the host and cleanliness.

The homes were charming, the beds comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding and filling. Lovely grounds outside to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee. We did both! I look forward to visiting again.
