Breakfast and the dinner were great. The sunset view from the beach in front of the hotel was truly stunning. I had seen the hotel promoting facebook Ads 1-2 weeks before our arrival date. It’s not great value for money to book via Booking.com. The hotel's own packages are more affordable and include superior benefits. I’m a bit disappointed to find out I paid more.

Spent Easter night at the Kokulo beach club for their lobster buffet, well worth the money. Can totally recommend staying here. Nothing
- Gerard (10/5): Notre coin de paradis - Le professionnalisme du personnel a tout les niveaux,le cadre,l’emplacement en plein coeur de bang niang ,vous passez facilement de la piscine à la plage qui offre une longue promenade exceptionnelle,c’est la troisième fois que nous y venons en famille et nous avons vraiment trouvé notre oasis de détente et de repos ,sans oublier le magnifique buffet organisé 3 fois par semaine qui est réputé dans tout Khao lak et qui sert des produits de viandes et crustacés exceptionnels Peut-être les spectacles les soirs de buffet un peu répétitifs il faudrait des soirées musicales un peu plus festives

Les piscines, le Kokulo Beach Club, le petit déjeuner incroyable, cette plage privative de sable blanc à couper le souffle et surtout la gentillesse de tout le personnel sans exception! Ume chose est sûre. nous y reviendrons.

- Sue (8/5): - Le personnel était vraiment très accueillant, sympathique et disponible. Chaque demande était prise en compte et respectée. Concernant l'hôtel, il est très bien situé et très bien conçu, le GRAND PLUS de l'hôtel était les bombonnes d'eau potable avec plusieurs températures installées à chaque bâtiment des chambres, j'ai beaucoup apprécié, c'est vraiment un grand point très positif pour l'hôtel. J'ai passé un très bon séjour dans cet hôtel, c'est ma deuxième fois et je ne regrette pas du tout d'y être retournée. L'hôtel devrait mettre en place un service gratuit de voiturier pour aéroport/hôtel et hôtel/aéroport. Cela permettrait aux clients d'être encore plus sereins pendant leur séjour et apporterait à l'hôtel une meilleure note.

As a Vegan- I found it difficult to have good plant based protein sources at breakfast. I would have loved it if a tofu scramble was available. I could have varied from my only option of basic cereal.

Idéalement situé à quelques minutes à pied de restaurants , petits supermarchés et du marché de nuit de Bang Niang et à une heure quinze environ de l aéroport de Phuket en Taxi . Belle chambre vue mer avec magnifiques couchers de soleil,bien équipée avec clim ,balcon avec sofa . Frigidaire ,bouilloire électrique , bouteilles d'eau gratuites chaque jour. Très bons petits déjeuners avec beaucoup de choix sucré salé ,fruits ,local... Spectacles danseurs de feux trois soirs par semaine , à voir. Personnel à l'écoute ,toujours disponible ,efficace et souriant Possibilité de réserver des excursions sur place je n'ai pas testé ,j'avais réservé avant ). Un très bon endroit pour se détendre ! RAS

Lentokenttäkyydit Phuketista hotellille ja takaisin järjestyivät hyvin hotellin kautta. Rantaravintolan musiikki (basso) kuului hetkellisesti vähän liian kovaa huoneisiin asti.

- Leon (9/5): Unser Aufenthalt war von Frühstück bis zum Schlafen gehen und allem dazwischen perfekt! - Die Unterkunft war von vorne bis hinten perfekt, der einzige nachteil war, dass das offene Meer extreme Wellen angespült hat und daher kein einziger Badetag am Hotel Strand möglich war - das hat der Pool aber wieder rausgeholt.

Om jag ska klaga på något så är de att man måste lämna in pool handdukarna på samma ställa som man hämta ut dom, eftersom de är rums nr på kortet. Skulle vara bättre att man kan ha vanliga kort och kunna lämna in vart man vill.

- Laura Chiara (9/5): Kleines Paradies - Ein sehr schönes Hotel mit wunderschönen Zimmern. Die Anlage ist wie auf den Bildern und top gepflegt. Das Personal ist unheimlich nett und total hilfsbereit. Das Hotel ist toll gelegen und man erreicht das Städtchen in wenigen Gehminuten zu Fuß. Es gibt viele Restaurants in der Nähe. Im Hotel selber kann man auch hervorragend essen. Es gibt sogar ein eigenes kleines Café auf dem Gelände. Perfektes Hotel für Khao Lak. Zimmer war immer etwas klamm und die Fenster sehr beschlagen.

В море можно сказать никого. Завтраки были просто потрясающие! Я таких нигде в Таиланде не встречала. Много фруктов, среди них даже манго и памело. Не хватает мостов-переходов от корпусов С D к детскому клубу, приходилось обходить. Комары!!! Положили всего 2 пластины от Комаров, хотя мы были 6 дней, а в 7/8 они не продаются.

Färscht, lugnt och bra design på poolen. Gillade att solstolarna låg i vattnet. - Frukosten! Bra sortiment, mycket att välja bland! Fräscht och gott! - Personalen! Otroligt trevliga och hjälpsamma. - Rummet! Bra storlek pch fräscht! - Gärna fler solstolar vid poolen. - Annat system för utlån av handdukar och handukskort. Blev en miss en dag där våra kort lämnades ut till andra gäster (förmodligen med lika rumsnummer).

- Jules1234 (1/5): Absolut nicht empfehlenswert - Lage direkt am Strand, optisch nett. Ich kann die positiven Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Tolle Optik, sieht alles hübsch aus, das wars dann aber auch schon. Ich finde das Hotel wahnsinnig unpersönlich, die Mitarbeiter kaum freundlich, man ist nur eine Nummer. Zudem extrem überteuert, auch die Preise im Restaurant, Bar, etc.. Ich hatte bei Anreise um ein ruhiges Zimmer gebeten (gebuchte Kategorie Deluxe Seaside Wing). Die Dame an der Rezeption versicherte mir, das es ein ruhiges Zimmer ist, sie hatte es sich sogar von ihrem Supervisor bestätigen lassen. Zuerst fiel mir beim betreten des Zimmers der starke Schimmel Geruch auf. Es dauerte keine 10 Minuten, als ich im Zimmer plötzlich Baulärm hörte. Die Baustelle war direkt vor meinem Balkon. Da habe ich mich schon leicht veräppelt gefühlt. Habe dann direkt das Zimmer gewechselt, diesmal zumindest kein Baulärm, Ausblick auf den Pool, klar hält man die schöneren Zimmer erstmal zurück. Dafür wieder der starke Schimmel Geruch. Ich bin Asthmatikerin und zudem allergisch auf Schimmel, für mich also gesundheitlich ein riesen Problem. In der Hoffnung, dass der Geruch durch die Klimaanlage weg geht, oder zumindest weniger wird, bin ich dann erstmal zum Strand. Selbst nach ein paar Stunden war der Geruch im Zimmer aber weiterhin nicht auszuhalten. Hier scheint ein Problem mit der zentralen Klimaanlage zu bestehen, da die Zimmer sogar in zwei unterschiedlichen Gebäuden lagen. Ich würde dringend raten, eine Reinigung und Wartung der Klimaanlage durchzuführen! Auf eigene Faust habe ich mich dann um eine Alternative gekümmert und bin im Schwesterhotel La Flora untergekommen. Das ganze hat mich einen Urlaubstag gekostet. Das Essen welches ich am Strand bestellt hatte war viel zu scharf. Ich hatte leicht/wenig scharf bestellt und es waren 2 ganze Chilis drin! Ich konnte nicht mal reklamieren, da in den zwei Stunden niemand nachfragte ob alles in Ordnung sei, geschweige denn das Geschirr abräumte. Und für dieses miserable Essen musste ich sogar noch...
- Herogder1 (10/5): Quiet luxury - We were picked up at the airport in a seamless manner. We were welcomed with a better room than we booked. The "Welcome back" and fruit platter was very nice. Yes, we were returning costumers. We LOVE this hotel in Thailand in the summer. It's quiet, esquisit service and a wonderful ambiance. As my teen daughter said : "Nice vibes". Everything is clean and well cared after. The App was a nice addition. Booking massages, timing the roomservice etc via app is easy. But I have to say that everyone is very service minded and help you with anything you need. I can not single out anyone, as everyone was wonderfully helpful. The breakfast is superb! They recognise you and make it easy if you have special order/diets. The restaurant and the chefs were as talented as last time. Do not worry ordering tings you are uncertain of, you will be plesantly surprised. Its more expensive than restaurants outside the resort, but its woth it. I felt disappointed by the local restaurants as the food tasted bland. There was a pizza place close by that was wery good. The coffee bar down the street that's a part of the La Vela/La Flora was very nice. The Bang Niang Night marked was as expected. You should definitly buy the frozen fruit smoothie they sell close to the entrance. The mango one is epic! After 3 weeks it was two guests who reluctantly returned home. We could have stayed forever. We will return! ❤️
- josefn2026 (10/5): Best experience - Hello, we chose this hotel for spending xmas time there. There' s so much to do! First of all i have to mention Mr Aod, a muay thai coach. Every morning after delicious breakfast my husband had a private muay thai lesson with Mr Aod. We also thanks for Xmas evening. We hope to come back next year and recommend this resort.
- beejw1 (10/5): Never fails to impress. - Without a doubt the best hotel in Khao Lak for location, friendliness and amenities, We have stayed here several times and it feels like a homecoming being known to so many staff. They really go out of their way. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the beach club and breakfast restaurants are well stocked and are highlights. The hotel spa staff are amazing and are obviously well trained, unlike the massage places outside the hotel. Spending a couple of weeks here is a fantastic way to unwind. Will be going back.

- V4085DLpault (10/5): Wedding at La Vela - Second time visiting this hotel and resort, on this occasion it was for my daughter’s wedding ceremony. Not knowing exactly what to expect on the day, it turned out to be perfect. Weather was glorious, location on the beach, band and photographer were excellent. All our rooms were upgraded to pool or ocean views. The staff are all very polite and can’t do enough to make your stay relaxed and very welcoming. The hotel is excellent in my opinion, very clean, with plenty of space. Various pools with space and spotless, some with music. Situated on the beach and a short walk to restaurants/bars, or you can stay in and just relax. I love it here and would definitely recommend this hotel.

- Lisa (8/5): Almost perfect family vacation in paradise - We really liked the breakfast! The personnel was super attentive and it was very easy travelling with a baby. The rooms were also amazing and we enjoyed the services (e.g. day trip booking and massages) We didn't enjoy the pool situation. The pools are all beautiful but the split between a children / family-friendly pool and an adult (12+) pool was not really enforced in a good and kind way. I e.g. wanted to go into the adult pool with my partners daughter (9 years) once and even though we were only there for a short amount of time and not disturbing any other guests we were thrown out in an almost aggressive manner. In the family pool on the other hand, it was accepted that adults were smoking (in the water) and no staff complained. I did not like this at all!

Very friendly staff, great breakfast with many difference choices, big room with direct pool access (Pool Access Grand), modern and stylish beach club / bar and restaurant, the King of Lobster Seafood BBQ Buffet deserves a special mention - it was simply sensational, with sushi creation at its best, grilled specialities, etc. Simply fantastic! I‘m already looking forward to next time!

Highlight of the stay was getting to train Muay Thai boxing with Aud in the ring on the resort grounds. He is an excellent teacher and the sessions are always incredibly fun and a full body workout. A must for any level of experience

- Jehugg (10/5): Exceptional resort: friendly staff, superb breakfast buffet, modern spacious rooms and beautiful pools. - Fantastic stay at La Vela Khao Lak – modern rooms, beautiful pools, great breakfast, and friendly staff. We especially appreciated the indoor air-conditioned restaurant and the kids’ club, both perfect for families with small children. A small tip: adding a shade cloth over the kids’ pool would make it even better. The breakfast really has everything and also very nice bread. The resort is fresh but some years in the tropics are beginning to show. There is one “non-resort” restaurant along the breach, otherwise there are plenty to choose from a short walk away. We had three kids 6, 4, 0 years old and distance was never a issue. The beast was Pinichio! Our kids were not that great at eating Thai food unfortunately and this was by far the best Italian we have had in Thailand!

- Filip Stolín (7/5): Enjoyed our stay, but could be better - Very good breakfast, big rooms and pools beach access is nice! Big refrigerator on room. Comfortable balcony with sofa. Shower is good. Very comfortable beds > I got 100 sleep score here after a long time. I liked the hotel design, modern & sleek. Our room smelled moldy and we identified the smell to be coming primarily from the sofa. We didn't even sit on it, because the smell was just too much. The light switches were stuck except the main light switch, which was barely working. Overall a weird lighting controls. I found some light brown bugs in the TV remote, which I then immediately quarantined on the balcony. The entry doors & lock seems really cheep and the doors do not isolate sound at all. This was especially painful due to chainsaws roaring from the opposite lot during whole day. Also you hear everyone going around your room doors. Reception area is not air conditioned.

- Christiane (6/5): War okay, aber teilweise nicht 5 Sterne - Es war ein angenehmer Check-in. Das gesamte Hotel Design hat mir gefallen. Frühstück ist der Wahnsinn. Auch Lunch oder Abendessen war sehr lecker. Es hat genügend Liegen und Handtücher am Strand und es war immer was frei, trotz reservieren weniger Gäste. Adults only Pool sauber und ruhig. Damen an der Rezeption sind sehr freundlich, top. Gesamtes Personal ist freundlich bis auf ein paar Ausnahmen. In der Bibliothek ist es sehr schön ruhig und auch die Angestellten sind da super nett. Die Lage ist nicht zu toppen. Ausserhalb hat es alles was man sucht. Sehr gute Restaurants und Märkte. Zimmer in die Jahre gekommen. War am Kinderpool, was ich beim buchen nicht wusste dass es den gab. Erst später bemerkt und versucht so weit weg wie möglich ein Zimmer zu bekommen. Funktionierte auch, jedoch war ich so im äußersten Eck von der Anlage, dass ich eine Wand oder die Nachbarsterrasse anschaute. Viele Moskitos + Abwassergeruch auf der Terrasse (nicht benutzbar dadurch), wahrscheinlich weil in der Ecke sich das ganze Wasser sammelte. Im Zimmer ist es mit den Mosiktopads gut handlebar. Sehr viele Deutsche (mind. 70%) im Hotel. In der ersten Woche war es sehr laut und mit all den Kindern waren wir stets am Ruhe suchen. Oft hatte ich das Gefühl, "Mallorca" für Familien. In der zweiten Woche würde es immer ruhiger. Wer Ruhe will, muss unbedingt die Grand-Zimmer buchen. Die befinden sich am Adults-only Pool. Im Strandrestaurant war die Musik schon sehr laut teilweise. Meiner Meinung nach sind die 5 Sterne nicht überall gerechtfertigt.
- Sonja (7/5): - The hotel is beautiful. The staff is friendly. We booked a sea view room. We had a partial lagaoon/ seaview room. The room was above the restaurant kitchen resulting in pungent smells at dinner time. We also had excessive chlorine levels in the room shower and bath. We reported and an engineer came to test the water and told us it was not OK. The hotel informed us later in the day that the issue was resolved, but the chlorine smell was still very strong.
- namtarnnn (6/5): Lovely Stay, Yet Lacking Attention to Details - We stayed at La Vela Khao Lak. During check-in, we were asked if we had any special occasion, but nothing happened afterward. That my birthday but I didn’t expect anything in particular, but it felt a bit strange to see two other tables beside us at breakfast receiving birthday celebrations with cake and songs from the staff, while ours was ignored. It just seemed inconsistent. Also, the car park is quite limited, and when it was full, there was no staff to guide us where to park. The security just looked but didn’t offer any help. Another issue was the in-room app for requesting amenities — it didn’t function. We waited about 30 minutes with no response until we finally called the front desk for assistance. That said, the room itself was very nice — spacious, comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom that made our stay relaxing. Overall, the property is lovely but the service and coordination could be improved.
- Artur (10/5): - We stayed at La Vela Resort in a Sea View Deluxe Room on level 3. The view wasn’t quite what was shown in the website photos — only the top floor offers panoramic views. However, everything else about the resort was excellent! The resort itself is beautiful and very well maintained, with several pools — some exclusively for adults, which made it perfect for relaxing in peace. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with so many options to choose from! The room had a huge bath on the balcony (not a spa), comfortable beds, and a great shower with three different settings — almost like a spa experience. The TV is smart but not HD, which would’ve been a nice touch. What really made our stay special was the friendly and helpful staff, especially Amp, Jane (the lovely Filipino girl — I hope I spelled your name right!), and Mae, our cleaner. They truly made us feel welcome. Overall, a very nice and enjoyable stay!
- Venture16279086820 (2/5): Terrible - I was very disappointed with my recent stay. When I checked in, the staff who escorted me to my room left the door open. That night, I was bitten by mosquitoes on my face throughout the night, even though I had not left any doors or windows open. The next morning, I made myself some coffee before going out for a massage around 3 p.m., and I requested housekeeping to clean the room. When I returned, I noticed that the face towel had not been replaced. The housekeeper informed me that there were no clean towels left because the hotel was fully booked — which I understood. However, when I turned on the kettle to make coffee again, I was shocked to find noodles inside it. I felt extremely disgusted, realizing that the room had not been properly cleaned, and that the coffee I drank in the morning was made from water boiled in that same kettle. To make matters worse, during breakfast, I also found something unidentified inside my glass. I truly didn’t expect such poor cleanliness from a hotel of this standard. It was a very unpleasant experience that has left a lasting impression — now, every time I drink coffee, I can’t help but think about the noodles I found in the kettle.

A great talent and a patient, yet encouraging trainer. Our teenager happily gets up early every morning of his holiday to train with him. Make sure you book a lesson if you stay at La Vela!

- R5622FSrachelb (10/5): Simply phenomenal! - We have been fortunate to stay in some nice hotels on our travels but LaVela has exceeded every hotel we have ever stayed at! A wonderful hotel in a wonderful setting. Ideal location for bars and restaurants and for the main bang niang area. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well tended to by the friendly housekeeping team. The thing that really makes la Vela outstanding however is the people that work here. From the concierge team to the reception team to the housekeeping staff, they are truly truly wonderful people who go out of their way to ensure you have the best holiday possible. A special mention to Khao, DJ Ark, Aod, Meed, Yee, Sarah, toffee, gam, pim and all of the amazing team at the kakulo beach club, they all really made our holiday exceptional. Highly recommend the food and drinks at kakulo beach club and if you have the opportunity and are celebrating something special, the romantic beach dinner is a must do. Breakfast in spices restaurant was delicious and plentiful with different choices each day. We will not hesitate to book La Vela again as out first choice when we return to Khao Lak

In a nice area of Khao Lak. Happy hour at various hotel bars run in sequence from 1pm to 6pm. No late check out available. If you have a late flight, suggest booking an extra night to keep your room.

- Quest14112574049 (6/5): Would not recommend - The hotel itself is nice and the breakfast in the restaurant is good — but that’s where the positives ends for a 4.5-star hotel, it feels more like 3 stars. Our first room was not properly cleaned: the mirror had strange stains, and we had to change rooms. The new room was even worse — still stains on the mirror, a broken bathroom light (night mode), and a faulty sliding partition that wouldn’t close properly. Housekeeping was disappointing: when we checked the new room, there was a bottle cap on the shelf, and after cleaning it was still there. Used spoons disappeared, and towels were old, torn, and worn out. A guest even said they were told they’d have to wait *two hours* for clean shower towels because there were none available. That’s unacceptable for a 4.5-star hotel. The “breakfast to go” is another big issue. The box includes a dry hot dog (no sauce or butter), two tiny croissants, a boiled egg, fruit, juice, and soy milk — hardly a proper breakfast. We asked for a bit more (extra hot dog and juice), but got even less the next time. When we asked to prepare our own box from the buffet since breakfast was included, reception refused, saying guests aren’t allowed to pack their own food. Our friends with *all inclusive* faced the same issue. They requested changes in advance, but their wishes were ignored and their breakfast box ended up in the trash because it was inedible. “All inclusive” is very limited: lunch and dinner are not buffet-style but à la carte from a small menu. After a week it becomes repetitive — definitely not worth the €1500 extra. Even basic things like coffee with syrup or ice cream are *not included*. Staff are friendly and always smiling, but problems are never solved. For several nights, people were shouting and slamming doors at 2–3 a.m. We reported it, but nothing changed. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant offers a buffet with lobster and seafood, but it’s not included in any plan and costs around €50 per person. Paying extra wouldn’t be an issue, but the restaurant becomes overcrowded, and guests with half board or all inclusive can’t even get a table. In summary: friendly staff, nice building, and good breakfast in the restaurant — but serious issues with cleanliness, housekeeping, and service quality. Definitely not on the level of a 4.5-star hotel.
