- Soenke_London (10/5): Alps-olutely Magical & Relaxing - I stayed with Inger & Rinaldo high up in Leukerbad that I am fairly sure I was level with the peaks on a Toblerone bar!:
The mountain tops covered in snow, crisp air, breathtaking views and a wonderful local thermal spa.
Hotel Viktoria is absolutely 'Alpine' for comfort.
Check-in easy, charming and efficient. Swiss-tuned, so to speak.
The key card to your room also provides access to local cable cars (which you need to reach the skiing slopes, amongst others) and further outdoor activities.
Another key provides direct access to the local thermal spa with indoor pools, 2 outdoor pools and sauna - instead of turning left for breakfast, you head up one floor and turn right into the spa. So SO relaxing from the minute you decide to enjoy yourself at the spa and / or sauna.
I enjoyed the spa on a daily basis (again all included in my stay). After a few hours in the thermal baths, I was basically Switzerland myself: calm, balanced and strictly neutral about everything.
Rooms are large and have a balcony overlooking mountains, the town and / or the spa. Snow-capped peaks provided for maximum postcard impact!
Breakfast is a triumph. It feels like 'Grimm's Fairy Tales': "Little table, set yourself' or "Tischlein Deck Dich" if you still remember your German from school.
Fresh local bread from the 'Wallis' region, hot coffee & tea made to your liking, always with a smile and friendly advice from Inger, Rinaldo & Maria.
My only real complaint? ... Leaving!
- Henri (9/5): Sehr angenehm.

So nah geschah, was nie hätte geschehen dürfen.
- Andre (8/5): - Ruhiges sauberes Hotel.Sehr herzliche Gastgeber.Super Zugang direkt ins Bad.Ich habe mein Hotel in Leukerbad für die Zukunft gefunden.Danke.

- Scenic40651863341 (2/5): An Utterly Inhumane and Unprofessional Experience - I am writing this review out of a sense of duty to warn other travelers, about how this hotel violates basic standards. My stay here was the most unprofessional and inhumane experience I have ever encountered, characterized by catastrophic service and a complete lack of human decency.
I was accompanying a friend with a disability following a stroke, and we requested an extra pillow from the owner to help him sleep comfortably and safely. The owner (the husband) blatantly refused, claiming they "did not have an extra pillow." To deny a disabled man a pillow is not just "poor service", it is an act of sheer inhumanity, demonstrating a complete absence of empathy and basic human decency. For a hotel, this is an unbelievable and pathetic excuse, and it left my friend unable to sleep at night.
This cruelty and unwillingness to meet fundamental guest needs was compounded when he also refused us an extra towel.
Providing basic linens like pillows and towels upon request is a non-negotiable, fundamental service in any hotel, but not in this one.
The situation with the towels became a direct health hazard. The owner refused to replace the super-wet towels instructing us to dry them in the room, including the large, super-wet spa towels. The owner's policy turned our room into a humid, unhealthy hammam overnight. The condensation was so severe that it aggravated my pre-existing respiratory issues, causing a painful sinusitis flare-up. Replacing used linens with clean ones is a non-negotiable hygiene policy.
To my disgust, when I left a soaking wet towel which was dirty and had a mark of black soap on the floor to be replaced, I found the same exact towel draped over the radiator to dry to be reused. This is beyond unhygienic and speaks volumes about the owner's standards.
The room was coated in dust and the shower was filthy.
The breakfast buffet offered a poor, small selection and was poorly organized. There was literally no dedicated or logical space for a fundamental item: the basket of bread. This fundamental design flaw led to the owner (the wife) herself constantly fumbling and intruding into the guest dining area, repeatedly disrupting our meals in a frantic, unprofessional attempt to manage a problem of her own creation.
I am a smoker. Each morning during breakfast time before sitting down to eat, I would take a coffee to have with my cigarette. For this, the owner charged me extra for all the days, because I didn't physically sit at the table to drink the coffee and was therefore not part of the "included" breakfast. She did not inform me of this "policy" even once during my entire stay before giving me the coffee. A service must be clearly communicated to the customer before they incur a charge. Retroactively enforcing a hidden rule is a deceptive practice.
We were required to pay for thermal bath badges in cash, directly to the owner, with no receipt provided. This practice lacks transparency, prevents proper accounting, and poses a fraud risk to guests.
When I attempted to address these issues after paying the full bill at checkout, the owner (the husband) cut me off, stating, "you can say what you want," and literally showed me the door. This is the behavior of an arrogant bully, not a professional.
Policy Violations:
The hotel's actions demonstrate systemic failures in service, hygiene, accessibility, and financial transparency that fall well below the standard for a 3-star establishment.
1. Blatant refusal of basic amenities
2. Cruel refusal of basic accommodation for a disabled guest
3. Unhygienic and health-compromising towel policy
4. Disorganized and disruptive breakfast service
5. Deceptive, retroactive, and unannounced charging
6. Substandard cleanliness and housekeeping
7. Non-transparent and shady financial practices
8. Unprofessional and bullying behavior
9. Failure to provide adequate ventilation & a healthy environment
10. Lack of transparency and informed consent
11. Systemic disregard for guest comfort and quiet enjoyment

- Paul (10/5): Wonderful family run hotel, in great location. - Owners and staff very cheerful, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Great location in centre of town, with private access into the thermal spa, next door. Hotel is spotlessly clean, and our bedroom was very comfortable, with stunning views.
- Bernhard (9/5): Maybe the best place if you want to visit the thermal bath. - Super friendly service. We love the fact that we could go directly from the hotel to the thermal bath… this is a real VIP feeling and very practical! Breakfast was good. The owners are super friendly. We will come back here.
Alles OK!
- Francois (9/5): A wonderful experience - Beautiful energy in this family run hotel. The owner is very well organised giving you all the info needed for you stay on arrival and there is tablets in the bedrooms with all additional info. Restaurants, cable cars etc.
You really feel VIP when you just have to wear your bathrobe and walk across a passerelle to access the thermal bath. Very helpful to beat the crowd too.
At breakfast the owner's wife leeds the show! It's all smiles, jokes and happiness. Breakfast is simple, fresh with everything you need and expect from a continental breakfast! The cherry on the cake is the Lady greeting guests with a big basket of an amazing variety of delicious local breads.
All the staff was amazing..... big thank you to the housekeeping team too. That i had to leave!!

Proprietari gentilissimi e personale altrettanto. Ottima colazione. Insomma, bellissima esperienza!!
- antchev (10/5): My favorite hotel in Leukerbad! - Every time I stay here, I like it more and more. Perfectly maintained hotel with a very convenient connection to the thermal baths. The rooms are spacious and very well maintained, the breakfast is rich with a wide choice. Always smiling and in a good mood Fam. Rinaldo & Inger COLLENBERG welcomed us this time too. - Nathalie (9/5): Wonderful restfully weekend away with amazing hosts - First of all the proprietors were an amazing couple who are incredibly efficient, respectful and kind .
All was explained from our arrival about the facilités and our surroundings. They are genuine and were always available to help us for whatever reason .
It’s rare to find such host nowadays.
The rooms were clean with a good size balcony.
Room service cleaning was efficient and fast .
Hotel staff friendly and very kind
The hotel had direct access to the baths , which was a plus . Overall a very enjoyable stay .
- Jn14000009 (10/5): Traditional Swiss mountain hospitality at its finest - This is hands down one of the best hotels we have stayed in in Switzerland. It is family run and they take their hospitality work seriously. The reception was warm and efficient--they explained all of the amenities and were super helpful. There is a great deal as you get a card that allows you free transport on the funicular up to the Gemmi lounge (and you can skip the line and go directly to the entry machine) + an armband that allows you direct free access to the public batch (the hotel has a walkway that allows you to go from your room to the baths in bathrobe). They were super attentive and lots of great advice as well as a nice information table with maps and other traditional printed travel aids. The view from the breakfast area and terrace is down the Leukerbad valley and is a sight to see. The breakfast is basic Swiss fare with muesli, fruits, juice, boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheese, crosissants, etc. and solid and just what you want before a day of hiking or the baths or both. The family tag teams the breakfast with some help and offers you coffee and a bread basket with many types of bread. They speak German and English fluently and probably a few other languages as well. It feels more like home in a good way than a hotel. The Hotel was a perfect location and base for hiking around the Gemmi Lodge and bathing at the public baths. Bottom line is that this place takes friendly respectful Swiss hospitality seriously and it showed in every aspect of our stay. Five star stay and we cannot wait to return!

- mikeyboy07 (10/5): Short break in Leukerbad - Friendly warm informative welcome. Great location with walk-through access to the thermal baths and central to restaurants, shops and other facilities. Rooms clean, tidy and functional. ( pillows were a little flat) Excellent breakfast. Free access to bus service and Gemmibahn. Very enjoyable stay, can highly recommend.
- Rolf (9/5): An excellent experience, we come again ! - Excellent breakfast served by the host.
The straight connection to the Spa Baths was great.
Unlimited Spa access was included in the price.
As a result more hours were spent in the pool, which was the main reason for our visit.
Overall a very good experience.
Could not fault it. A small fridge would be good in summer.
- Carlos (10/5): hike splash, rest and repeat - Fantastic location hike and splash, all in one place, with friendly staff. all great
- Romy (10/5): Best experience in Leukerbad - Great Place, Amazing view from the balcony, super lovely staff, best bread I've ever tested and a huge selection too. The owners are very friendly with every-one of their guests, making sure they're greeting everyone in their native language. It's amazing how they make you feel at home speaking your language from day one. They help with parking and ski passes, and guide everyone to make the most of their stay in Leukerbad. Love and Respect...
- Mark (10/5): first class -
- Jonas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathalie (10/5): Exceptional - Staff kindness, very good breakfast and the two steps to the thermal pool /
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - every thing was just perfect more than expected
😀😋😍
- Anca (10/5): Wonderful surprise for me! - I did really like the staff. Inger was wonderful, she made me feel like I was one of her family member. But all the members of the staff were great. At first sight, the price may seems to be a little beat higher but believe me that it is not because you have included entrance to Leukerbad Therme as many times as you want with unlimited staying (otherwise you have to pay 28 chf for 3 hours or 35 chf for whole day), free Gemmi entrance as many times as you want to go to Gemmi and a lot of discounts to other touristic sights. To have a tea machine in the room was great. The hotel has a direct access to thermal baths and is in good location, close to most of the important places in the village. The view of any rooms is stunning. I did really appreciate that I had a room with a big terrace and I was able to get wonderful sun baths. The breakfast was enough for me and here I drunk the best coffee from my whole life. I did not like the time when I leaved this hotel.
- Beata (9/5): Superb - access to the therms directions for the parking could have been a little better
- Alexander (9/5): Superb -
- C608KUmarianned (10/5): A fantastic week for 3 generations. Help and advice is never far away at Victoria. - We had chosen Victoria for a weeks family vacation, mainly due to the proximity to the thermal bath and the large selection of other activities included in the price as appears on the website. What is not described is the service and friendliness of Inger, Rinaldo and their staff which surpassed any reasonable expectations.
We have travelled a lot and stayed in far more prestigious hotels around the world, but never har a more caring staff. To mention a few examples. Inger masters the delicate balance of serving you in a correct and very relaxed way. Rinaldo doesn’t let you out the door in wrong clothing if he senses that you are going up the mountains and he even drove us on a couple of occasions. The superlatives queue up, as one also notices from other reviews.
The only drawback is the price, but unfortunately Switzerland is expensive, and in that aspect Victoria is a good bargain.
- Carla (9/5): Superb - The staff was super friendly, I would not hesitate to come back and stay at this hotel again. The direct access to the baths is a big big plus. The breakfast is great and the location is central Nothing
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- 736runed (10/5): Good visit - Friendly hotel with good service.
Amazing location with view of the valley.
Easy access to the terme spa, which was used alot by the kids.
Breakfast was ok, not fantastic, but that was about the only negative thing to say.
Hotel was clean, central, enjoyable.
- Mattia (10/5): - Great location! Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff e tasty breakfast. I definitely recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wir erlebten sehr angenehme, erholsame Tage in Leukerbad. Sehr familienfreundliches Hotel 👍
