- Michelle (10/5): Fun motel in the center of Durham - The staff was wonderful—very concerned and caring. It was extremely clean. The location was wonderful. It is very kitschy and adorable.

The morning staff were a little rude to my friend when he asked for more coffee, saying breakfast was over but there was still roughly 30 minutes left. The second staff clarified the time to the first staff and the coffee was then made.

- Kyle (8/5): Comfortable and fun, but not well suited for elderly patrons. - The room was clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable, it had everything we needed. I loved that it was so quiet. The city was right outside the room, but we still managed to sleep great and didn't hear a thing. I really enjoyed the retro decor. I would stay again, but probably only with my husband or people my age (30-50 demographic). Check-in was a whole ordeal. We had to skip it until after our concert at the DPAC because rooms weren't ready. I appreciate a late check-out, but 12:00 doesn't leave much time to get everything flipped. Maybe offer that to people that would like to pay more for it since not everyone needs it. But even after we got back around 10pm, check-in was painfully slow since it was only one person. As far as the room itself, the shower head needs to be replaced. And the frosted glass door to the restroom looks nice, but it isn't practical when someone gets up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and illuminates the whole room. Finding the electrical switches for the lamps was a fun game, but I we almost gave up (they're on the wall panel on the outside of the beds down by the pillows, not the center as you would assume). And the alarm clock went off at 6am and it was frustrating trying to figure out how to turn it off -- it's not very user friendly. I was going to unplug it from the wall, but the wall panel hiding the electrical outlets made that impossible. I was staying with my 75 year old mother and I was more aware of the complications for elderly people. I don't think this hotel is elderly or child friendly.

- Jane (9/5): Great location for DPAC. - The location was close to Durham Performing Arts Center. It was a walkable area and safe to walk to restaurants and other places. We did not eat breakfast as it was expensive for what was offered. My friends and I wanted rooms close together. Only two of the rooms were on the same floor. The pillows were not comfortable.

He went way beyond the call of duty to accommodate us and he was friendly as well as professional in his demeanor (young black guy…I forgot his name please forgive me ). The front desk staff members were also very friendly. We would stay there again.

We felt safe and comfortable our entire stay, and look forward to staying with Unscripted again if we're ever in town. I had an issue where they charged my card at check-out for my room despite prepaying with Booking.com. Staff over the phone and at the hotel were great and able to get the issue fixed within the same day.

The hotel lobby could use a refresh as it didn’t match the light and brightness of the room. The garage could use a serious power wash and a repaint but it was explained to us that the garage was a separate operator from the hotel. The hotel’s central location can’t be beat.

Our desk clerk/receptionist walked us up to our room make the keys were operable and then checked in with us an hour late to make sure the room was comfortable. Waiting for our ride in the lobby was a comfortable and pleasant experience. WiFi is free and great. The pool is not heated. Some of the rooms are nicer than others for the same price. The hotel is over priced despite the great staff and location. We booked long in advance so it was affordable. 50.00 for early check in was an unreasonable knock.

- Jean (8/5): - This hotel is a well done retro reno place. It is a former old-fashioned motel with rooms surrounding the outdoor pool. There are lots of great eateries and it is a very convenient walk to DPAC. The property has lots of amenities, including yoga, room service and a poolside bar. The only downside to this is that there was a dj at the pool during the afternoon, and it was so loud that, even with our door closed and pillows over our heads, we couldn't block out the sound. However, it did make for a very communal atmosphere.

While there were some inconveniences with noise, bathro - The hotel has a great location in downtown Durham, making it easy to explore the city. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was lively and stylish. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room was a bit noisy at night and the soundproofing could be improved. The bathroom design, especially the shower without a door, made it less convenient. Parking was also not very convenient and came with an extra fee.
