Guest Reviews
- David (8/5): - This is a basic rural motel. It was wife approved clean, in room coffee was bad, inexpensive so could go out to restaurant for real good breakfast. Value was a Nine out of Ten. Quiet, easy to use, on the way to where we were headed. Wife says we can stay there again.
- Keith (10/5): - Older property but well kept and managed.
- karen (6/5): - Mold concern, building needed to be cleaned outside debris need to be picked up around building. Rooms were clean but beding was old!. As a retired insured agent my concern was building neeeded to be up dated and mold qas a big concern!
- JUDITH (10/5): - The night before we stayed an very expensive motel in Marquette for my grandson's wedding. I would compare Chapel Hill to that one on cleanness and comfort. The owner as so helpful when I got lost and called him for directions. I will definitely stay there again when doing to that area.
- Brent (10/5): - Very clean, comfortable rooms, very friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very welcoming. Nice location. Resposive management.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Met My Expectations - We arrived around 10:30 and were met with friendly service. We checked in quickly and given a key to our clean room. The bed was comfortable too.
- Robin (6/5): Just ok - It was ok. The room was very musty smelling, otherwise seemed clean.
- Kelly (10/5): - Very nice for the price
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great for a place to crash. - It's a very basic motel stay, just like Iremember from the 80s & 90s. Clean and simple, plus a fridge in the room and a very excellent ice machine.
- Brian (8/5): - Nice clean room. Hallways were little musty.
- John (10/5): - Chapel Hill Motel is a good example of a well kept locally owned hotel. It was very quiet and clean within miles of beautiful beaches on Lake Michigan.
- Nisar (10/5): - The room was spacious and clean, there was ample space for kids to play with swings in the lawn. One of the best motel I stayed so far.
- Scott N (10/5): - We found the room to be very clean and comfortable, we went to St. Ignace for dinner which was 20 minutes away but a pleasant walk in the evening.
- Mark (10/5): - I wanted a reasonably priced clean and comfortable motel to spend a night, that is exactly what I got. shower was great as was the mini frig and microwave and coffee maker with coffee and tea. Very clean and neat. Even had coffee and toaster in the office with some type of pastry in the morning. I recommend staying only if you are not super duper fussy. One thing was the tv reception went out but it was a stormy night and thats what you get with a dish. So for me and my girlfriend it fit the bill just fine. Would stay again for sure.
- Marvin (8/5): - most reasonably most motel in the area
- Jian (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable
- Judy (4/5): - This was a $55/night motel that I paid double that for. No breakfast or food on premises--not even coffee. There was ice available. And there was no place to eat near;by. But the biggest problem is the strong smell of mildew. It didn't go away even though we kept the window open. I was very happy to leave this place.
- Mark (10/5): - Close to the bridge without the high prices.
- Robin (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - For the price, this place was great. The motel was quiet and the gentleman that works there was awesome. Will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is an okay place to stop if you just need to sleep, but still way overpriced. Itβs basically like stepping back into the 70βs as nothing has been updated, the front office is lacking any technology and the closest anything is about 20miles away. Tried to call about a room issue and no answer, so had to pack all our stuff and drive back down there. Kinda a tourist trap, but the room had what we needed to sleep and get out first thing in the am.
- Jennifer (8/5): Great 6 day stay - We enjoyed our stay. Yes the motel is out dated but it was located perfect for us. The bed was comfy and hot water. The owner Roger was great to talk to everyday. He doesn't service the rooms so you have to get new towels. Whuch wasn't a big deal for us. Would stay here again!
- Karla (2/5): Horror movie - Was filthy and hard mattresses.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is a very old property that needs a lot of attention. No mowing being done. Needs new paint everywhere. The only saving grace was our room was very clean.
- Steve (8/5): A Motel Room, Not A Resort. - Looked at a number of hotels, resorts, and Bed & Breakfast places for our trip tp Mackinaw Island. The downtown area is very congested and surprisingly empty of restaurants and breakfast places. This hotel is 21 miles out from St. Ignace and you avoid the downtown craziness, and there is two restaurants a couple of miles further down the road.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This hotel is pretty neglected. The extra pillows were yellowed and had blood on them. While the rest of the roomβs cleanliness was fair, things were very worn. Our sheets had some holes in them for instance. There is nothing really around here as well. The only real value was that it was pretty cheap.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy acces
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and quiet.
- Dan (8/5): Budget friendly - Nice comfortable no frills place that will meet your needs on a budget.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, not far from attractions and lakes for fishing, very reasonable rates, did have a strong musty smell in the room though, but overall I was very satisfied with my stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Being by Lake Michigan
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is a older motel. If you want a place to crash for the night this is it. The outside could use some paint but the inside was clean and neat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - πππππππππ
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cute little mom and pop place with easy access.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Shower had no pressure,
Toliet kept backing up.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet! Beautiful dark sky , clean spacious, comfortable Friendly, recommendations on eating places
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I was happy with the room. It was clean and priced right. I would like to see WiFi put in but I will return
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was great. It was quiet and we were able to rest peacefully. Also a plus for us was having an ice machine in the hall. Very clean place to stay. The beds were comfy. We look forward to staying again when we come back next year.
- Greg (10/5): - Roger, the owner, was very kind and helpful. Rooms were great for the price. We stayed 1 night while passing through to our destination. Great restaurants and sightseeing close by. We would recommend and stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Motel is older & the exterior is in need of some attention, but it was clean & comfortable. The bed was good & the pillows were fluffy. The owner is super nice!
We stayed 2 different nights, a Sunday & the following Thursday. The 1st night, we had room 17 with no fridge & microwave. The 2nd night, in room 21, there were both. (& the price difference reflected that, which is a good thing)
We would definitely stay there again & would recommend others to stay as well.
The location is also great for the sandy beaches nearby.
The only bad part was the no WiFi (& Verizon's rotten cell service!)
- Lorilie (6/5): stop over - The motel was fine, this was just for an over night stay on towards another location in Michigan. Not bad and covered the basic needs
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was very clean! Roger was very accommodating. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to others!
- Joseph (10/5): UP hotel - Nice room nice staff
- Phil (10/5): - The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Will be staying there again, God willing.
- Chad (6/5): - Clean and comfortable. Wish they would have had more channels to choose from on the TV (only 3 of the 4 had sound).
Wouldn't necessarily stay here for more than one night, but it was a nice place for the amount we spent.
- Dan (8/5): - Clean, fairly comfortable bed, microwave and fridge
Very good price. Would stay again
- Greg (10/5): Quaint & clean - This was a very comfortable night stay. Room was clean and in good shape. Service was friendly and accommodating. I was doing some kayaking in the area and this is close to some great smaller lakes and to Lake Michigan. There is a great little bookstore about a half mile away that is worth a visit, too.
- Chanel (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much. We also enjoyed talking with the owner and the history of the property. It needs work but it's an old couple and they're trying to do the best they can and they keep the rooms clean and the prices are great so I say give him the business because they could really use it.
- Tweedy (6/5): - Nice clean little motel on hywy 2 in upper peninsula of Michigan. No internet, no TV channels. True UP experience.
