• Tom (6/5): - Nice location First room smelt really bad of sewage. Was no issue being moved but room was freezing cold at first. No mattress protector, no spoons, very tiny tea cups and one glass, one toilet roll and 1 small towel and a large in a double room. Place has gone down hill for accomodation, think they're more interested in the events and food part of it now. Rooms really in need of an update and better finish

• michael (1/5): TRADES MEN BEWARE VEHICLES TARGETED - Good location but that’s where it ends Vans Broken into in carpark . First Checked me in to a dirty room with no bedsheets on etc , had to go back down and request another room . Key card wouldn’t work for the new room . Eventually got in . Went to my vehicle around 30 mins after checking in to find someone had cut a hole into my van door and stole tools out my van . They also did another van at the same time . Hotel staff were useless , couldn’t care less . Said they would speak to police . Never bothered following up with me or before I checked out . Still not had any correspondence from them . Disgraceful customer service

• Zak (4/5): If the hotel would refund the night we didn't stay, then I would gladly change my review. - Didn't have breakfast, dinner was ok. Mainly indian style food with a couple of british classics. The bed was so uncomfortable that we had to check out after 1 night (paid for 2nights) an unfortunately wasn't offered a refund or partial refund. They did say they would 'look after us' again if we visited but we won't be going back.

• Huw (6/5): Warm and lovely staff, but rooms and corridors need a refresh - Lovely location in the quiet countryside but close enough to the motorways to get into Birmingham. Communal areas (corridors and reception) rather worn. The first room I was given was dirty, and the second room was actually occupied. Third room was lovely, but mattress was very firm and rather tired

• Ann-marie (10/5): Hockley house - The location was very nice the staff was very welcoming. Very time we tried to go to sleep the floorboards would creak everytime someone would walk across them from up stairs, so that kept us awake most of the night.
• Christopher (5/5): Average. - Property was in a good location and staff were friendly and accommodating. Night staff were available to let us back in late. Flexible with checkout. Bar was friendly. Room was cold, heater wasn’t attached to the wall securely, bed wasn’t the best uncomfortable and squeeky, only two very thin pillows, found a spare which my wife had and I had to fold mine. Room felt dated and in need of a deep clean and redecorating.
• Adrian (10/5): Nice, quiet, cozy. The people working here make this place fantastic. - The hotel is cozy and quiet. The rooms are spacious. The food delicious. Well-rounded menu with selections for everyone. The staff working at this place are all amazing. They are all genuine and kind-hearted. I did not like that I had to go home before I got to know more about the staff working there. I was busy most of my stay throughout the days and only got to chat and connect with them late evenings.

• Hannah Marie Richardson (8/5): Hidden gem :) - The food was fantastic, me and my partner both ordered the pizzas, beautifully homemade and delicious and a side of salt and pepper chips also just as delicious. The desserts seem to all be homemade as well and were divine, we had a brownie and a cheese cake. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive. service was brilliant and nothing seemed to be too big of an ask. We will definitely be back in the future. Not really a dislike but the hotel itself is a little dated. But if you don't mind that, it's a lovely place to stay.

• Mrs Molly (2/5): It was unpleasant. - The first room we were given had used dried chewing gum in the draws lip stick on the sheets and very poor quality mattress's and thin pillows. The bathroom had black mold and was extremely unclean. The second room we got moved to also had extremely un comfy bed and thin pillows and bathroom was dirty with stained Lino. But at least this room was slightly more clean. No one checked with us if the room was okay and the customer service was poor. Pretty much everything. The decor is extremely out dated.

• Lucy (9/5): Perfect for what we needed - Convenient for where we were attending the following day. Friendly staff, bar area and breakfast available on site. Room was very reasonably priced and had everything we needed for a short stay. Bathroom wasn’t as up to scratch as the rest of the place but clean and tidy. Heaters could have done with being turned on before we arrived as it was a bit chilly but soon warmed up Near a main road but actually well sound proofed and no traffic noise issues

Liked that it was out of town which made the parking feel private and safe. Good food and service served until late. • Stuart (5/5): The price matched the expectations - General cleanliness in the room. Shower glass was frosting from water marks, Mould on the grout and sealant in the shower. Shower leaks from the hoses as seal are missing. The hotel is generally looking tired and dated but nice enough. You could also hear every conversation and movement from ajoining rooms like they were in the same room.

• Anthony (8/5): Lovely hotel, welcoming staff, good sized rooms and great food. - The room was amazing, well worth the upgrade to a 'Superior' for the extra space. Great shower and bathroom, plenty of tea and coffee and ample hanging space for clothes. The TV could have been a little bigger for such a large room.
• Dean (7/5): Social catch up evening. - Lovely, quiet hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were small, basic but clean and comfortable. We didn't end up having an evening meal, but stayed and had breakfast the following morning which was reasonably priced and the food was lovely. We had to wait awhile to check in as there was nobody at the desk and it took someone a fair bit of time to arrive even after pressing the bell a few times, causing a queue of other guests also waiting. We arrived with friends and they had also booked a separate room. After a few drinks and a chat in the bar area we decided to have a few more drinks in our room. A member of staff came and told us that their was a maximum occupancy of 2 guests per room, and although we explained that they were also staying at the hotel in a separate room and we were just having a catch up they were persistent that they had to vacate the room. Which put an early end to our catch up.

• Callum (5/5): Not great - Helpful staff clean room Very uncomfortable bed, you could feel every spring needs replacing. Got very little sleep. First hotel I’ve ever stopped in that doesn’t provide a hair dryer. Also very thin pillows and duvets.
• Ged (10/5): Clean, warm and friendly 😀😀😀 - I have stayed at this hotel many times for work, the hotel is clean, warm and comfortable, the bedrooms are quite large, the restaurant and bar is really welcoming with quite an extensive menu at realistic prices, the staff are very friendly and helpful, I would recommend this hotel if you were with your family or even for work purposes. Good size free car park as well. Can’t really fault it. Ged.

• Howard (4/5): Difficult to recommend - Very friendly staff Very smelly bathroom, strong sewerage smell. Lots of road noise. Very creaky floors, lots of noise from the corridors and surrounding rooms Out of date milk and no teaspoons in the room I definitely would not stay here again.

• Susan (3/5): Had the worst sleep ever , the room needs updating the curtain rail - It was close to my clinic I had my op at , the duvet was good and warm The tap was dripping in the sink all night, the curtains fell down when we opened them, the room above people were walking about all night kept me awake bad creaking floorboards, only two small milks so we only got one coffee each .

• SARAH (8/5): - I stayed here before an event in Solihull so the location was perfect! The price was incredible too. Staff were really friendly in the restaurant and they served delicious food. Very convenient and enjoyable for 1 nights stay. I could hear the people upstairs/room beside me late at night which was a little annoying. Must be thin walls. It stopped after an hour or so. There was also no free wifi login with my room key/info.

They should probably think about separating their guests in such a big place,not put them on top of one another

• Charley (5/5): Lovely staff and food, basic rooms - Staff were lovely and evening meal was great. Bed was comfy enough and shower pressure was good. It is fine if you are looking for a night or two and a basic stay. Rooms are very basic, which was fine for one night. A towel in my room did have a stain on, and the "garden view" was actually a view of an industrial unit.
