- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable lodge. - I don't think we were in the room for more than 6 hours. The room was spacious and had all the amenities you could want. It was dated but comfortable. We were in the converted barn that is not attached to the lodge itself. The space included a well-stocked kitchen. Beautiful views of the Bay with an easy walk-up to the water. Had we stayed longer we would have enjoyed more of the amenities such as the rocking chairs featured on the cover photo.

- Rick (10/5): - This is a wonderful, peaceful and gorgeous property at the end of the road in Seward. Kendall is an excellent and engaging host, and runs a beautiful establishment in a beautiful location. At times it can be a little challenging to get there since bus service doesn't run and some taxis in Seward don't like to go down the dirt road, but call Bob at 907-362-9090 and he will take you there. For us the isolation of the place made it all worthwhile. You can sit for hours and just take in the majestic mountains and the bay - it's paradise!

The room was adequate and the Alaskan decor was a nice touch. The road driving back to the hotel (3 miles of it) was full of pot holes and bumpy. They were grading it the day we left. From the pictures we expected a room with a view. We got a standard room which was like any other hotel room anywhere. No view, and not very private. We had to keep the shades pulled and the room was dark. The dark paint and dark furnishings didn’t help. The bathroom was tiny with a super small shower. The sink was outside the bathroom. The small shower was probably what I disliked the most.

The location is gorgeous- away from the town and a little bit further away from Miller’s landing where you can get some peace and quiet. We enjoyed our stay very much and wish we could’ve stayed longer. The owners were lovely and very personable. The cook, Patrick had a lot of information for guests and was always available. Their breakfast in the morning and cookies in the afternoon are much appreciated. It was so nice to hang out on the deck as well. They provide heat lamps for cold days which really helps. I would love to come back to this hotel.

- Jalene (10/5): Whales supreme - We chose this property since we had booked a whale watching cruise in Seward. We were able to see whales on the cruise, but WOW, they were right in front of us while we ate breakfast both mornings!!! Could not have had a better stay and would definitely come back for the sea life and the hiking in the area.
- Brandon (10/5): One of the highlights of Alaska - This place exceeded all our expectations, the property is its own little piece of heaven. The lodge is right on the water where we saw MANY forms of sea life regularly including sea otters, seals, porpoises, etc. The owners are very friendly people who are more than happy to tell you about the area and just good company, there are fresh baked goods all throughout the day each day, breakfast is fantastic, and overall the stay is incredibly relaxing. If possible, get a room overlooking the water, I assure you that you won’t be disappointed. Property is also very close to all the shops in town and some fantastic hikes as well. We would love to return and I’d recommend this place to anybody.
- Benjamin (10/5): Stop your search, stay here - If you’re looking for a place to stay in Seward, this is the place. You’ll be able to have breakfast every morning directly overlooking the bay while being walking distance to multiple trailheads. I’m definitely coming back.

- Brian (10/5): Relaxing wildlife vacation - This is easily the best place to stay in Seward. Right on Resurrection Bay. Quiet. We saw sea otters & eagles from the deck overlooking the beach. Great staff. The main person we talked with during our stay was a guy named Tyler who was knowledgeable about the area and interesting to talk to. The manager (Kendall) recommended a specific wildlife cruise, which turned out to be great.

- Christina (10/5): A few days on the Bay - Great location without a doubt. Unfortunately because of fires our view of the mountains were not that visible, but nothing you can do about that. Room was clean & Kendall was beyond helpful. The room we were in had no type of closet or dresser to put your cloths. He said they manage it, but this building was not one of their properties although it’s next to theirs. The cute Curio cabinet was cute w books & stuff, but space in there can/needs to be utilized better. Although I thought I had booked a room facing the bay with nothing blocking my view is not what I got. Again wording can be misleading. Sure we could see through the 4-5 foot opening, but with the haze there was not much to see as far as mountains and the low hill blocks the the water view. Our neighbors above were beyond noisy. They need to implement families with children stay on first floor. I’ve been in other small lodges that do just this to help make everyone’s stay better. Kendall did ask me about it upon our departure & I did mention all of this. Breakfast was great. Overall the Lodge was great @ only minor issues that can be fixed. I would still recommend this location. I would not book the room I had again though.

- Donna (10/5): Yurt! What fun! - On our grandparent trip to Alaska with grandsons (7 & 9) our first 2 nights in Seward was at the Yurt. It was so cute, well decorated and the space was wisely used. The free breakfast was a nice touch and the afternoon cookies and brownies, coffee and hot chocolate was a big hit. When you first go down that long road to bay it seems long. Later you realize only 10 min to Safeway and restaurants. The Wifi is pretty non-existent but they are working to get signal booster. The boys had fun along the rocks and black sand beach. I would definitely come back here! The staff is super nice!

Hotel is located outside of town so not any restaurants around so we picked up stuff for dinner and ate there overlooking the water and mountains. The view was beautiful. Glad we decided to stay there as oppose some of the downtown hotels. Would definitely stay there again.

- Keith (10/5): Nice place to take a break. - Rustic accommodation with a great view. We were lucky to see a bunch of bald eagles. Good breakfast. A bit out of the way from downtown Seward. If one were to arrive early enough, try to call the lodge to see what's the best transportation recommendation. Seward has a few taxis and the Uber/LYFT is known to be somewhat unreliable. The only complaint was that the WIFI was not working, but our stay was to short to fix it.

They had fresh cookies and coffee out during the day for everyone. Unfortunately or TV remote didn’t work but with all the things to do outside, who needs a TV?!
- Ann (10/5): Southern hospitality in an Alaskan environment - Simply WOW! Great host. Beautiful view. Comfortable accommodations. Wonderful breakfast. Freshly baked homemade cookies every afternoon. Best place we stayed during our 10 days in Alaska.
- Jennamarie (10/5): Stay here for amazing views and service - Total gem! Spectacular views of the bay and the mountains across the bay. We saw sea otters, sea lions and whales swim by every day. Kendall and Michelle are great hosts. They made excellent recommendations for dining and activities and even let us borrow some bear spray for our hikes. Our room (suite #6) shared a wall with the breakfast area and started to get noise coming through the walls at 6:30/7 am, so don’t pick this room if you want to sleep in.
- Shayne (10/5): Cozy accommodation with amazing views. - Fantastic spot with cozy cabins, amazing views and friendly helpful owners. Hiking trail close by or sit on the deck and watch whales, otters and birds pass by. Enjoy the hearty breakfast to set you up for the day. Friendly hosts will pick up and drop off to ship or train as well as run into town for you. Glad we chose to stay here.

The breakfast area was open all day and had hot drinks available for guests. In the evening, they had fresh baked cookies, which were appreciated by all. Breakfast was great and the owners were very helpful. Highly recommended.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing view at special place - Location was amazing, right on the bay with the mountains across the water. Serves great breakfast so you can sit on the porch and enjoy the view. Accommodations were very comfortable and attractive with niceties like extra boots for beach walking, board games and laundry. You have to drive down a winding road to get there, but still within 15 minutes of Seward.
