• Mijin (2/5): - Even though it’s located in a UNESCO World Heritage area, the hotel in the main square was dirty and extremely dark. It was completely different from what I saw in the photos. There was no shower curtain, so I had to sit and wash myself carefully. A high school student working part-time during the summer — who had only been on the job for three days — didn’t seem to know anything properly. There wasn’t even a basic city map available, something you’d expect at any hotel. When I went down for breakfast, I was led to a basement that felt more like a wine cellar. The serving dishes were empty, and the guests were just looking at each other in disbelief. In my 40 years of traveling, this hotel in Telč, Czech Republic, was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.

• Lívia (8/5): - The hotel is at the edge of the scenic Telc square. Our room nr. 10 was on the top floor. A window could not be opened, out of the two. In the bathroom, had no drain on the floor, so the water of the shower could only remain on the floor. It was slippery for a few hours. We paid 160 Euros for one night, which is wasn't definitevly overprised. It is definitely overprised.
• Peter (4/5): Nicht empfehlenswert - Der Empfang war alles andere als freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war in einem mittleren Zustand. Das Badezimmer war sehr alt mit Duschvorhängen, gruselig. • 697MicheleW (8/5): Great for one night stay - A lovely old building, with updated facilities, as well as a covered parking area for bicycles. The location was right in the town square and easy access to shops and restaurants. The breakfast was good.

• Radol (2/5): Huge misunderstanding - I booked a room for weekend on Booking.com. Few days before arrival I got a text message that hotel is cancelling my reservation for some reason. They haven't changed anything in reservation on Booking.com, did not reply any of emails and Booking themselves also were unable to contact this place for few days. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid!

• Frequent_Traveler (8/5): Old Style Accommodation but Quiet - A huge plus for me is silence at night, which is difficult in Europe where church bells ring all night long. I had a horrid experience at another Telc small Hôtel because of this problem last year. This time my room - 9 - had a panoramic view of the square which was gorgeous. Yes, the furniture is very dated but it works. It’s a simple place, breakfast is likewise very simple. But, friendly and clean. Parking temporarily right outside the hotel while you unload or load. Inexpensive overnight parking not far away.
• peichun2017 (2/5): If this is the best you can find in Telc, better stay at other towns. - Spent one night at Telc hotel, Rm 3 last X'mas holidays. The decoration of the room (standard room) was quite out of date which made me feel like staying at the undergraduate dormitory. That's ok and can be a unique experience if you think from a different point of view. However, the room is so freezing even after we asked staff to turn on the heater. Duvet felt damp. There was no kettle to boil hot water. After slept one night, I caught a cold. I don't ask too much but a hotel should at least let its guests sleep at reasonable room temp.
• Progenitor (10/5): A very nice hotel in an historic building - The hotel is very quaint but lacks an elevator. The furnishings are out of date but functional. Our bathroom was modern and clean. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The location can't be beaten We would certainly stay again.
• 16CR (8/5): Cute room facing the square - I had the cutest room with white baroque wood headboard, dresser and chair. The window faced the beautiful square with flower boxes outside and windows that opened for fresh morning air. There was a fresh egg breakfast, cherry tomatoes, nuts, but not a big selection of breakfast foods. There was an in-room fridge, lots of thirsty towels.
• MoniDNM (6/5): Despite all its shortcomings probably it is the best you can find in Telc - + Good location. Beautiful view to the main square from the window. Big room. Comfrotable bed. Friendly, helpful, smiley staff. Silence area. Good wifi. Cca 1200 CZK for a nigth is OK. Super pattiserie, with excellent cakes and coffee. - Old-style, non-comfortable furniture, worn-out room on the whole. Bathroom wasn't renovated from the 70's, but the biggest problem was that there is no really hot water and water pressure. There was also an example of a dreary yellow water flowing from the shower. The furniture was dusty in patches, the carpet was stained. Dust-bin is only in the bathroom (1 piece), without rubbish bag which isn't so hygienic. Few plugs in the room., so you have to unplug television to have free plug for your notebook and you have to charge your phone in the other side of the room - you have no plug near the bed (Not ideal room if you need to work). There is a level difference between the hallway and the bedroom, and bedroom and living room (it's dangerous not to turn on the light when going to the bathroom or to table at night). No AC. Hazelnuts in minibar were out of date, bottles of drinks were dirty. Deficit of darkening curtains (I need dark for sleeoing...) No elevator, it's hard to get to your room upstairs with luggage. The maid didn't wash the glass not even once.There is no safe in the room.
• Robert (6/5): Meet our new Czech family! - When I booked I thought it would be perfect base for our short stay with everything in walking distance. That worked out a treat and we enjoyed the coffee shop attached and looking in the cute shops. The room was rather basic with the bedding of a poor standard from a cleanliness point of view.
• J2706VWdaniell (8/5): The unique place for a breakfast - This seemed to be the only place for a good breakfast in all the square. Good coffee and good cakes. You have also a good view of the square and all the houses. Very quite place. It is true that, in everyplace, you have to struggle to communicate with waiters.
• Jolyon (10/5): Wonderful restful hotel,beautiful amazing village - Exquisite town square; scalene 8 buildings wide 31 buildings long ends at castle gate. Fantastic castle, amazing churches, wonderfully lakes and gardens and virtually no tourists. Great community feel with children running free and unfettered. Best place!
• WarEagleCharlotte (8/5): Interesting hotel, probably best in town (on postcards). - Considering that postcards sold in Telc both feature the hotel and the view from our room, I would say that Hotel Celerin is probably the best in town. Telc is a quaint and picturesque village--and unfortunately for us, it was completely dead the night we were there. Most restaurants were closed and there was nobody on the streets, unlike other towns we visited. The hotel is in a great location, at the end of the town with a spectacular view. It is small and a bit tired and has no elevator. It also doesn't have parking--so it can be really confusing both getting to the hotel and dropping off luggage. Your GPS will tell you to drive through a narrow gate into the town--and that is the only way to get to the hotel--despite the signs telling you NOT to drive into the town. You can unload luggage, but cannot park in the square (despite the fact that many cars do...). It isn't a bad walk to the public lot outside the city walls, but its not convenient. Our room was fine. Big and with a great view, but clearly old a tired. Not a negative, just the way it was. The staff was friendly and breakfast was pretty good. We had visited Telc in January 2004 and wanted to see it in the spring. It is beautiful. IF you are going to spend the night in Telc, I would recommend the Hotel Celerin. Telc is definitely worth a visit, but I would suggest spending the night in Cesky Krumlov instead.
• Barb577 (6/5): Not bad but it's old and tired - Firstly I want to say that the lady on reception was just lovely and did her very best to help us. However.... There is no parking at the hotel (as was indicated by Expedia). You can drop your luggage off but then have to drive and leave your car out of town in an unsecured car park and walk back in. It's only a 5 minute walk but we weren't really comfortable about leaving the car so far away. The hotel is old, tired and feels rundown. The room was huge and looked over the square, but the furniture is really old, the TV screen is 11 inches and there is no screen or shower curtain over the bath. The water sprayed everywhere! The breakfast was nice though and Telc is a sleepy place anyways.
• Verified traveler (10/5): The location was perfect. - The hotel location was at the corner of the old town which is the best location to see the town. The hotel staff is also good.
• Verified traveler (6/5): We were un lucky. - In winter nobody is in the hotel. The owner was at home.we got a kea to the hotel. The heating system un controled so we felt like in a sauna. We had to open our window in -7 c. The double bad were two different bads in different hights. Breakfast was good.The location is very good on the city square.
• mcadoo11 (6/5): Funky hotel - Though we were not expecting a 4-star experience, Hotel Celerin could have offered a lot more than it did. Hotel Celerin's main selling point is its central location on the beautiful town square of Telc. I would characterized the hotel itself as funky rather than quaint. For example, in the room we stayed, there were stairs leading to the bathroom -- one in which a tall male (me!) could not stand to use the toilet due to a low ceiling and a shower with no shower curtain or partition to prevent water from spraying about. In addition, through the exhaust fan vent you could hear conversations (softly) coming from another room. The green carpet in the room was tired and in need of replacement. Hopeful that breakfast the next morning would raise my grade, I was disappointed. The only hot option was hard boiled eggs. There were few choices in limited amounts. The front desk clerk was also responsible for stocking the breakfast, so you get the idea. Again, great location in Telc, but there may be better options around or until Hotel Celerin improves its offerings,
• graffka (8/5): Great location, cute hotel - We stayed here in July, and the location is perfect being right on the square. The employees were extremely friendly. There is parking a quick 3 minute walk away, as the square parking is limited to a few businesses. The room was nice enough, and I'd probably stay here again if I ever make my way through Telc.
• robertjozseft (8/5): A place that is ALMOST excellent - Of course, you cannot have an A/C due to the UNESCO historical place. However, the hotel is good, price/value ratio is OK, I gladly recommend it. It is right on the corner of the small historical cenre, Everything is in a walking distance. WiFi is OK, too.
• 243marekc (8/5): Motorbike week - After several days on our Harley we stop on one of the greatest city in south Bohemia, Telc. What you will see is absolutely fantastic. We have very nice small hotel directly in the square. Very nice view. On the morning we spend nice time with breakfast on the garden behind the hotel. We will come back 👏
• Steve (10/5): Nice hotel - Staff was friendly. English spoken if you need it. Very convenient for walking around the town center. Parking is expensive if you want to park in the square.
• fl0rsy48 (10/5): Welcoming spot on the lovely main square - We had a spacious room overlooking the main square which was like looking at a stage set. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine, with plenty of fruit and yoghurt and nice baked goods We had a lovely stay and highly recommend it.
• MorrisVienna (10/5): A perfect location - We had a large room ( really a suite - with settee arm chairs and a desk plus chair) overlooking the square. The town is so beautiful and being able to look out on to this huge square with its colourful houses was marvellous. I can't thank the receptionist and the owner enough for all their help and friendliness. We would definitely stay there again just to enjoy the lovely long bath !
• Stlouisrexford (10/5): Wonderful Hotel - We stayed at Hotel Celerin after a long hike. The hotel is located on the square. The service was great. The man at the desk made dinner reservations for us! Our room was on the top floor overlooking the square. The room was large and clean. Breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel!
• btm133 (8/5): Loved the location - We spent a couple days biking and used this as a base for 2 nights. Perfect. Hotel was in a great quiet location, rooms were quaint, clean and comfortable. Breakfast set up was also great. Location has great restaurants within minutes of walking. No AC, so could get hot in summer. I would stay here again.
