- Ervin L (6/5): - The towel rack in the shower had a burn mark, and while there weren't many guests, we were put in a room with a curtain that didn't block out the light from the flood light of a mini mart across the road from it. It also would not be a good choice if you could not secure transportation, because there are no rentals in the area.

- Amelia (8/5): - We were in town for a wedding that was being held a few miles nearby. This hotel room was perfect for our needs. Plenty of room, 2 comfy quern size beds with extra pillows and blankets, mmicrowave, refrigerator, and tv. We had a great stay! We were greeted promptly and check in and check out went smoothly.
- LESLEY (4/5): - For one i didnt get the room i original booked. I was informed Travelocity said i booked a double smoking when i know and have it on my booking it was a king smoking. They didnt have anymore of what i booked so ended up in a non-smoking king.

- Misty (4/5): - They "checked" us in themselves and charged our card before we ever even got there. Like they never even gave us the opportunity to check in. They room smelled, the toilet was about to fall apart and there were stains on the sheets.

- Nicole (6/5): Needs Improvement - The older white man that was there at night wasn't friendly, he was grouchy, the morning south indies big guy at the desk was not friendly at all. They need more white clean towels and washcloths they had stains on them even though they were washed. The cleaning older south indies gentleman and black lady was very friendly but the older south indies older lady was not. The only person working front desk was friendly was the south indies women.
- Mary (4/5): - I was very excited to find a room with a jacuzzi tub. When i got off work at midnight and wanted to use it there was not enough hot water to even fill it a quarter full. There was mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom. When i spoke to the lady when i was leaving at 6 am she said "I know." Terrible.
- Tonya (6/5): - When we arrived I had my arms full and was struggling to open the door and the man just sit there and watched me. The room had a bad odor. The furniture was dirty and the mirrors. The bedding was clean. In the middle of the night someone was banging on our door. We did not feel safe here at all.

- Amy (8/5): - This is a pleasant and well priced place to stay when we are visiting our daughter. I wish they would restore at least a coffee station in the lobby, or in room coffee maker. And a light, grab & go continental breakfast. COVID not a valid reason anymore, most places have a breakfast amenity now.

(4/5): - We had to call the front desk and get them to give us another room because whoever was in the room on the second floor above us sounded like they were throwing 50 lbs bags of dog food onto the floor...for hours. When I first called, the front desk lady said that she would call "them" and tell them to be quiet. About five minutes after she did this, the banging got even worse. I had a medical procedure at the local hospital the next morning and needed my sleep. The sour grump of a man who was running the desk at 12:30 a.m. took a couple minutes to ask me if I needed assistance since he was facing me counting his cash drawer. When I told him we had been promised a different room due to the extreme noise issue, he smacked the new room card-key down onto the counter and didn't apologize or say anything at all. Very poorly run hotel and we will NEVER stay at this chamber of horrors again. We still paid full price. Just deplorable.

- Stephanie (2/5): Sleep somewhere else! - Normally I am generous in my reviews, but this was the worst hotel experience I've had in quite some time. This hotel is listed as "no frills" and it means it. If you plan to stay here, make sure you bring: 1. Ear plugs rated higher than 32 db, since that's what I was using and it still wasn't enough to block the crazy loud a/c unit. It seriously kept me up all night. 2. Your own hair dryer, if you need one. 3. An extra blanket, even in August. The outdated temp controls don't let you set an actual target room temp and the bedspread was crazy thin. I was so cold! 4. Your own shampoo/ conditioner if you want them separate vs. "in one." 5. Breakfast. Despite saying it is provided, the hotel is currently not serving breakfast "due to covid." (Everywhere else I stayed this trip was serving breakfast, and based on what else I saw at this place, this was merely a good excuse to save themselves the expense). 6. Flashlight/ phone light if you're arriving after dark. The light switch by the door is seriously not hooked to any light at all, so we had to use a light to make sure we weren't tripping over anything while we found our way into the room and turned on the bathroom light. I will give kudos for one thing - the room was very clean. I know it's no frills but if you want to actually sleep, I suggest you try somewhere else. I'll never go back to this hotel again.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel suited our needs for the 3 nights we stayed. We had maid service everyday, but no breakfast of any kind. They have security cameras that cover the entire property and that was nice since we were traveling with our Bass Tractor boat. The area is safe and we had no issues. Would stay here again if in the area.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Smoke Detector Issues - I have stayed at this hotel previously and I believe they have made some upgrades, e.g. the carpet seemed new. When I stayed this time it was the first cold weekend of the year. When I turned in the heater it set off the smoke alarm. The front desk told me that was from the dirt in the heater burning, yet they did not offer to clean it. An hour after I went to sleep I was woken up by the smoke alarm in the room “chirping.” When I called the front desk and said it sounded like a fire alarm was beeping, they said the hotel doesn’t have a fire alarm. When I told them it was the smoke detector in my room, they sent an elderly man who climbed barefoot on the bed to work on it. He called for help and the front desk person came and pulled the smoke alarm off the wall and told me that was all he could do. After some heated words I was moved to another room where I was finally able to settle in at 12:15 am. They did provide a partial refund.
- Verified traveler (6/5): You get what you pay for - There were some items broken in the room: A/C vent, shelf in the bathroom, and the door lock and jam into the room difficult to open. There was no breakfast available at 9:15 ( closes at 9:30). Breakfast pictured would have been nice. I get that the rate was low, but service should not have been.
- Chris (2/5): Stay away if you're not a smoker! - It was terrible. The whole hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. I thought most hotels were smoke free but this one wasn't. They even had used ashtrays in the room. We had to kill a roach on the wall from behind the bed and there was a hole punched through the bathroom door. Absolutely the worst hotel experience that I have ever booked. Even the icemaker on our floor didn't work. We couldn't get rid of the smoke smell at all. It was not at all what we expected. The night was so bad we didn't even dare try the free breakfast. This is one that definitely needs to be taken off of the list.

I was there about 7:30 and found the above items. Did not see a staff member. I rang the bell and no one came. Other than that, things wre fine..

I couldn't get the WiFi to work, the pool is broken and there are some maintenance issues, but the staff was friendly, the breakfast was appreciated even though it's very limited, and the hotel is clean. The area is a bit rough and I was kinda worried about parking my car overnight, but there were no issues. Honestly, it's the best hotel in the area, but that's not saying much.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Grad weekend - Being a reader of all reviews, I went with this hotel because it was the best in the area and rate was good with it being graduation weekend. Clean rooms. Beds little too soft for me, but no complaints from others in my group. Not sure about the breakfast since we didn’t make time for that. I did notice on one day the door was closed prior to the posted end time of 9:30a. If you advertise until 9:30a leave it open until then, even if only cereal left! Friendly staff. No iron/board in room but had no problem getting one when we needed it. If we weren’t getting our room cleaned, had to get clean towels from the front desk. It was grad time, so we were 25-30 mins from campus. Not a bad ride and price was good. No eating spots nearby but it was not our plan to eat nearby. Would stay at the loc if nothing closer to the school

There was no hot eggs, bacon, sausages, grits- the closest was 2 packets of instant oatmeal and no carafe of hot water. there was no fruit as pictured either.
- aracely a (6/5): Alely - This hotel it’s mediocre.its ok for just to stop to rest for one night. The toalla very wear out feels very rough in your skin , the smell of smoking it’s all over the place .

No "welcome," no "sorry to keep you waiting," no"how can I help you?" Guy just came around the corner and waited for me to tell him why I was standing there. Breakfast doors were closed when breakfast was advertised to begin (6:30). I peeked inside and nothing was ready. Lights were off, so food was out, and again, no one was at the desk. So I just gathered my things, left my key at the desk and left. Service was poor, but room was clean and comfortable enough.

- Theodore B (6/5): Oak Tree Inn - It was acceptable here. It has been refurbished recently and it was clean, but the building showed its age. Parking in the back did not look secure. The pool was unkept, mostly empty and unusable in July.

There is a really large gap between the floor and the door. There was never anyone at the front desk. There were cockroaches in the bathroom.

- Will (10/5): Weekend stay with family - I requested a room for 3 nights and I was really surprised. I use to live in Claxton and come back to visit family once a year. This is the first time staying here and it was great. The rooms were very nice. The staff didn’t say much but that’s probably a good thing. I definitely recommend this place.
