- Ashley (1/5): Dirty Room - So much dust, the room looked like no one had been in it for some time… centipede ran across the floor and I was out! Just had bad vibes did not feel comfortable took my room keys back and left! Was offered to try another room but if this was a “upgraded room” because the king bed booked on line was not available because they “had not been cleaned yet” I was not interested… this was a late booking as I got stuck in Globe with the flooding on my way home from clinical at the hospital. Do not recommend!

- Barbara (8/5): I'd stay again - Parking is ok, but difficult for large trucks. Room ok. Dated, but clean and comfortable.
- Michael (4/5): Not Worth It. - At night time, this property is so poorly lit as the require several trip around the property to finally locate our room. Parking is roughly 600 feet from the room. No sugar or creamer. Just coffee.
- Jake (10/5): - Always a great time
- Tammy (10/5): Beautiful Miuntain Views - The property is absolutely beautiful and well-maintained. Our room was spacious and the beds were so comfortable. The location was perfect for a photo shoot we were doing.
The staff was amazing. I experienced a low blood sugar and needed orange juice. Not only did the manager bring me orange juice, she brought me breakfast to make sure I was ok. Thank you Joelene for taking great care of your guests. We will definitely be back for a weekend getaway. Parking isn't near the rooms, but they do have a golf cart that takes you to and from your room.
- Tom (7/5): A nice stay, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here. - Very pretty surroundings. The bed was comfy and the linens were nice. The waitress in the restaurant was super nice and friendly. We were here in the summer, so it was a little deserted and sometimes hard to find someone at the front desk for help. The room was not very cozy... kind of sterile and not very tastefully decorated.
- Braeden (10/5): - Exceptional gorgeous and secluded. Privately owned. CEO is excellent.
- Karen (7/5): -
- Thomas (7/5): - Great views. Comfortable room No golf channel at a golf resort
- Craig (8/5): - Very nice stay with friendly staff, but the rooms were a bit dated.
- Kimberly (8/5): - Nice but dated and limited parking.
- Julie (10/5): - Beautiful property nestled into the foothills of the Superstition Mountains. Friendly staff, comfortable accommodations and amazing wildlife!
- Kevin (10/5): - Excellent
- Dominick (4/5): - Old, outdated, very cold and unwelcome feeling to room and property.
- Vincent (10/5): - Excellent golf courses, service and golf pros
- Tiffany (8/5): Roomy and comfortable - All in all, a pleasant stay. The room was very big, which was great for 3 women who needed to get ready. The patio area was super cute and comfortable as well.
- Pierre (3/5): Not very happy 😔 - Old hotel would need to be refurbished.
The fridge was noisy and disruptive to our sleep
Expensive, not worth that price, at that price it didn’t even give us daily room service. Far from our parking, had to call for shuttle service, supposedly complementary but of course had to give a tip on every move and had to wait for pickup. Had we known we would have never booked there, the only reason I booked is because I booked a round of golf on Dinosaur. Great golf but sleep elsewhere
- Yazzie (10/5): Exceptional - How nice n beautiful it looked The parking areas
- Maria (5/5): Passable -
- Hal (10/5): Best place. Unique location - Had a great time
- Ann (10/5): - The check in young woman at the front desk was delightful! I would go back just because of the way she took care of us. The internet was spotty but the young woman’s wonderful genuine attitude made up for it
- Dave (10/5): - Great golf getaway!
- Daniella (8/5): Very good -
- Jacki (10/5): Exceptional -
- gregory (8/5): - No ice buckets in rooms
- Diane (5/5): Passable - Beautiful resort however parking is a challenge. Was charged more than what i was quoted. Also, after long eve after wedding, the bride & groom wanted to settle in, however the thermostat did not work & the heat would not come on. The couple had to move to a different casita.
- Antonia (10/5): Property review - The staff members made sure my accommodations were perfect. The resort didn't have many packages available to choose from other than golfing. A spa package would be nice with a weekend stay.
- Tiffany (2/5): Never go back, way over priced for the accomodations - the restaurant in the lobby was excellent. only good thing about our stay upon arrival the staff said that I had not paid for my room when i did. when i showed him i only owed 21.00 in resort fees he said fine, but ended up charging my credit card for the room of 320.00. i am not happy at all. beds were very hard, pillows felt like cardboard, very small tv with hardly any channels
- Elisabeth (5/5): Fine - Comfortable bed and good pillows, large bathroom with a solid shower, the patio was a lovely perk and the views were as nice as can be expected over a golf course in the desert. Our breakfast buffet hostess was stellar. It’s close to the ren faire. Whole vibe was very cold and quiet most of the time, especially at the bar/grill area. expensive for what it offered, facilities very dated, no frills of any kind. They offer a “breakfast buffet” that rivals those of regular motels but is very expensive for what it is.
- Dennis (8/5): A pretty and roomy resort in a great location to experience Arizona - The location is beautiful with a golf course on one side of the resort and the picturesque Dinosaur Peak on the other. There are many hiking trails nearby and we took advantage of that. Our room was large with comfortable furniture and a patio that had a nice view.
We watched a gorgeous sunset from the restaurant patio and enjoyed the food and excellent service. The room cleaning was not very thorough. For instance, the bathroom mirror had water splash marks when we checked in. We asked to have a cleaning and the cleaners didn't wash the mirror.
There are some rough spots in the room amenities such as an aged bathroom vanity and a shower head that sprays water outside the shower (there is no shower door or curtain). The pool furniture and cushions were dirty.
It would be nice to get extra coffee packs and to use less plastic (eg real glasses and coffee cups, ice delivered in an ice bucket rather than getting a 5 pound bag of ice).
- richardaD8662EJ (4/5): Over Priced - $350 a night was too much for this experience. Bathroom in room #601 is very dated, please replace the tub with a shower. The rooms abut each other and can be noisy at times. There was no view from the room... Best part of the visit was the hot tub - note the pool isn't heated. Might have been happier if they included a basic breakfast, a free bottle of water, and the golf channel.
- Tami (7/5): I would not stay there again unfortunately. - For a golf resort it was fine…and location was good for us for the venue we attended. The towels were very dingy and thin/old. We had to call maintenance to fix the sink (the stopper was broke) and the air conditioner wasn’t working. They did come quite quickly and fixed it. The towels were so old I refused to use them , did not care for the restaurant either…it took a very long time and we had to go find the waitress to get our check and containers to go.
- Kathy (8/5): - Staff & Services were great & responsive. Hrounds were beautiful. Only ne
- Cassie (10/5): - We thought the bed mattress was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on!
All was nice, but could use a little more furniture like a desk area. All in all we thought it was great.
- Laura (8/5): - I love the quiet. I live the mountain views. Friendly staff. Room was very clean.
The TV was placed very high on the wall, when sitting on the couch, it was uncomfortable to have to tip my head back to watch it, that is not a good position for a person's neck.
- Adrienne (9/5): A beautiful establishment to relax and enjoy your much needed getaway!! - The golf course was phenomenal and the scenery was beautiful. The GC Resort was well lit and easy to locate off US HWY 60. The TV wasn’t working properly and synced with the remote control. Walls to adjoining room thin enough to hear noises from neighboring guests.
- Michelle (8/5): - Our first room was very dusty when we arrived, there was hair on the floor, the window would not lock and our TV did not work. When we called the front desk they placed us in a different room which was much cleaner and nicer. They were accommodating and friendly throughout the process. Lovely resort and staff.
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional -
- danielle (10/5): - Pretty views and landscaping. Quiet rooms. Desperately in need of vegan meal options.
- Giulia (8/5): Very good -
- Ashley (8/5): - Staff was very friendly. Property grounds were beautiful great views. The room itself was very outdated and just didn’t feel clean. Only stayed for a wedding. Also no gym.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Happiness15737640575 (10/5): Golf in the Desert - A late booking but secured a good tee time. Course in great condition with a great layout.
Fairways were well looked after and putting surfaces ran true.
We all played well and the cart lady provided a good range of drinks and nibbles.
The starter took photos for us on the first tee and provided some good chat as well. One of the other really good things was the tee time spacing, it was perfect!
- Jessica (8/5): - .
- Candice (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Jake (10/5): - Great place
- Overall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cole (5/5): We will be staying again but not in that room. - Staff were amazing. Extremely helpful. Everything that happened was no one’s fault. The place is amazing and as said before the staff as well. The room had a hole near the bottom of the sink. Crickets would come through all night. Kept me awake. Rat poop was all over the bathroom floor and in the cabinet next to the toilet.
- Aline (10/5): - Kind staff
- Cynthia (10/5): Awesome room! I want to come back and stay for more than just one night! - I liked the patio and set up of the room.
- Cassandra (7/5): Good -
- Christine (8/5): Very good -
- Jake (10/5): - Loved the experience
- Desiree (10/5): - This property is absolutely gorgeous, with little partridges running around. Rooms are large and clean and the staff is awesome.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (9/5): Just what I needed for a quiet escape from the city! - So quiet and serene. Enjoyed the amazing desert views. Facilities are a little old but still lovely.
- Adam (10/5): - A little out dated but other than that everything was amazing.
- Dawn (10/5): - It is absolutely beautiful with amazing charm. The rooms are so spacious and the living area has a fire place. The bathroom also had lots of charm and is huge with a walk in shower. The outdoor patio is large with a table and chairs and a beautiful view.
The views are gorgeous surrounding the entire property.
Great hospitality and friendly people! It’s a must to stay here!
- Melyssa (9/5): Superb -
- Bry (1/5): Short n sweet - Local Over priced run down dirty dingy
- Kandice (3/5): Eh - The layout of the room We could not find our room bacause it was dark and there was no lights to light up the room numbers and parking was difficult.
When checked in we did not get the rate that we were told it would be on booking.com
- Laura (7/5): Good - Very beautiful!!!! Delicious food is offered at the restaurant, with great economically friendly pricing. Room locating is not friendly. The parking location to the actual room location is difficult.
- 742beckiea (6/5): Business trips to Gold Canyon Golf Resort. - I have stayed here three times in the last six months for business. I work for Rio Tinto and have stayed here to visit Resolution Copper in Superior. The resort setting, landscaping, look and style of the haciendas, is top notch. I have stayed in two different rooms and they have been large and clean, but outdated. They look as though they were decorated as cheaply as possible. Towels are old and grayish, the Futon electonic bed is an odd addition. Tiles between the living area and bathroom don’t match, etc.
Many people have left bad comments about the restaurant. I have had good experiences there both with food and service.
I truly believe with a capital investment to update the rooms and perhaps the restaurant, this place could warrant 4+ - 5 stars.
I enjoy staying here, but with a little updating, it could be top notch.
P.S. I have always had good service!
- Michael (3/5): Poor -
- Xavier (10/5): Great, affordable accommodations. We'll come back again. - Excellent location. We didn't attend the buffet. The accommodations were excellent. The bathroom door of room #1070 needs the door hinges greased as it makes lots of noise when closing the door to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
- Calvin (10/5): Exceptional -
- GINA (10/5): - Gorgeous, clean, quiet, spacious, and safe. Hotel suite included a patio. A little hard to find the hotel room at night in the dark if you're not familiar with the layout but very safe to walk around the premise at night. Checked in late at night and staff in the lobby was very friendly and helpful. In the daytime, it is beautiful (even from the parking lot). I would definitely stay here again.
- kaitlyna743 (2/5): Restaurant - Terrible service at restaurant. Ordered two beers took a half hour to get. Ordered food..pizza came out in a half hour (which was fine), but we ordered two other entrees (first they didn't have what I ordered-took a half hour to let me know) so I ordered a new entree took a hour to get...mind you the other entree never came!!
The waitress left in a rage, not sure if it was her fault or the cook. Blamed short staff. Manager NEVER came to table!
Never again!! Manager should be fired..never should be in the restaurant industry, with her disgusting attitude!
After all that...they specifically called us out for being from MN (stating we shouldn't be here if we can't afford it)....funny thing is we aren't from MN! We live in Gold Canyon.
Clearly they are biased of the Midwest.
- John (6/5): - Casita #1095 lovely patio, but A/C and phone didn’t work. Had to move in the dark, but #1019 was a suite with large hot tub on private patio. Rooms are very musty smelling.
Outside appearance is well maintained, but inside units are very worn out. The focus is on the golf amenities. Beautiful landscaping.
Front desk, Matthew, was very accommodating.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johnathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- IAN (10/5): - It was a very nice resort that was so close to the Superstition Mountains!
- Leann (6/5): - Parking and getting to your room was a challenge! Lots of steps . Needs updating! Beds were comfortable! Restaurant was nice and very friendly.
- kathryn (8/5): - Very slow at lobby desk. One person working and another guest had a credit card problem. Took 15 minutes to pick up coffee and towels. Pool was too cold to swim. Food service was good. Beautiful setting.
- kevin (6/5): - Although a beautiful property near the Superstition Mountains some detail to care is needed if it’s to be concerned a 4 star resort. The room we stayed in a one king room with patio appeared that it hadn’t been used in a while, dusty on floors and counter tops. The pool and hot tub look beautiful but was disappointing as the pool was < 70 degrees and hot tub might have been at 80degrees! There isn’t many dinner places near Gold Canyon and ended up driving to Gilbert which has many nice restaurants and great atmosphere for nightly dinning. Service at golf course was very friendly and good and able to play a round in less than 4 hrs on a Saturday. We played ‘sidewinder ‘ which was nice and in fairy decent shape but hard to compare as the previous day we were at the Omni Tucson national where everything was top notched! It is a good place to stay if you are planning on hiking in the Superstition mtn. But need to care for the outdoor areas of the pool and hot tub
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a beautiful place! I wish we had had more time to take advantage of the whole resort. The Bar had some great food options. My one complaint is that the villas are old and the ac unit was so loud. Other than that, we'd stay again.
- John (9/5): Excellent stay! - Impressive grounds, and lodging Very poor exterior lighting esp on building Numbers when one arrives after dark.
- Starnes (9/5): Great place to stay and treat yourself - Beautiful views and good restaurant Pretty pricey
- 875ashleyh (4/5): Don’t bother with the restaurant - The resort itself wasn’t terrible. The room was a bit musty and the decor somewhat out of date and stale but it was comfortable.
My main complaint was the restaurant. We were visiting because of the local renaissance faire and came after a long day ready to get some good food.
There was no one at the host stand and we waited quite a while until a server walked by and asked if we’d been helped. We said no and she said she’d find the hostess. She eventually showed up and took us to a table outside. We sat and sat waiting to be greeted. All the tables around us got waited on and no one even acknowledged us.
Our waitress finally appears and we are ready to order since we’ve had so much time to sit and look at the menu. Her attitude was a bit sharp but we didn’t let it bother us.
She disappeared and about 25 minutes later our food arrives. I ordered the pistachio crusted chicken and my parents ordered 2 side salads and the chicken sandwich. My chicken was just sad. Dry, lacking in flavor, chewy. The mashed potatoes looked like they came from a box and were whipped into oblivion. No seasoning, no butter, and cold. The palm size portion of veggies were the opposite: soggy and over salted.
The sandwich chicken was also spongy and unseasoned. I would bet they come frozen and aren’t fresh. It came with a packet of mayo and a packet of mustard (very classy). They couldn’t even finish it because it was so chewy.
She never came back to ask us how the food was, just dropped the bill. My father stopped her because he’d seen every other table get a view of their dessert tray (an oddly outdated move) and she never asked us if we wanted dessert.
He asked her for a cup of coffee, a hot tea for me and a slice of carrot cake. She huffed off and disappeared again. When she eventually showed back up she had his coffee and told me they were out of tea (it’s a hotel… there was tea in each room) and did I just want hot water with honey. I politely declined and she went away again.
The carrot cake wasn’t awful but the whipped cream was cool whip (can’t deny that lovely synthetic aftertaste).
We finished and just sat. I had to get up and ask another waitress if we could get our bill. Our waitress appears, drops the bill and dashes off again. She had charged me for my “not” tea and I waited for her to come back so I could ask her to remove it. Sat and sat and then eventually just got up and went to front. Again no hostess or anyone there. Another waitress comes over and asks if I need help and I ask her if she can find my server. She comes over, mumbles an apology and takes it off. It was like she decided, when we came in, that because we weren’t old white guys in golf gear that we didn’t deserve good service. We were polite and patient. My father was nothing but kind and I’m the one who got testy at the end because we were there almost 2 hours and not because we were enjoying ourselves or the ambiance. I spent $28 on the most mediocre plate of food I had in a long time and was treated like an afterthought for our entire experience. So thank you Jocelyn for making that entire dinner as painful as pulling teeth. We won’t make the mistake again of eating there.
The term “resort” speaks of luxury and the finer things. The food experience was sub-par at best, the customer service abysmal and not worth the price they asked for it.
- Jaime (8/5): Very good -
- James (6/5): - Average at best... bare bones not for anyone who has trouble getting around. Parking horrible.
- thadabroad (6/5): Water in the desert - Stayed here as part of a wedding party. I don't play golf, so I cannot offer any input on the course, other than the greens were green, the sand traps were sandy, and the driving range was crowded.
The resort complex is a series of "adobe-esque" buildings that each contain multiple rooms, spread out across a hillside with stairs taking you to each building. We stayed in a 2 queen room with fireplace and outdoor jacuzzi tub. The room was adequate- 2 queens with quality mattresses and linens, rustic table and chairs, a single serve pod coffee maker, miniature fridge, 2 upholstered lounge chairs, and very spacious walk-in shower. Overall, the room is dated, but still provides adequate facilities for sleeping, watching the over average sized TV, sitting in front of the stone fireplace, or eating take out. It met the basic requirements despite the very apparent worn state. These furnishings and amenities served us adequately well, except for the shower or sinks.
Perhaps it was that our building was "up hill" or perhaps it was the desert environment, but water pressure in the room was minimal. For instance, the shower provided a stream similar to that of a garden hose designed to conserve water. There was water, but you had to work at getting your body amply wet. I would recommend that if this cannot be increased, that a different shower head be utilized- perhaps one that disperses the water in a larger spread. Similarly, the bathroom sink- separated from the toilet and shower area, also suffered from low water pressure. Even with both spigots turned on (hot and cold), it offered a weak stream. The wet-bar sink near the fridge and coffee station was no different.
The shower also has a "dispenser" system for shower gel/soap, shampoo, and conditioner. If you like the smell of coconut, you are in luck! I was almost convinced that it was the same liquid in all 3 "pumps" or that there was 1 well that all 3 pumps were pulling from. Essentially, if you are NOT a fan of coconut scent, bring your own or acquire while you are there.
The outdoor private jacuzzi tub was so very welcome. The water appeared clean, chlorinated, and health code hot. It was barely large enough for 4 but amply large enough for 2 people. The opportunity to end the day there under the starry sky was a welcome respite after a long fun day. It would be advised to bring some sort of appropriate "wet spa" footwear, as the jacuzzi is surrounded by slate stones that are very slippery when they get wet. Sandals or other slip on rubber bottom footwear would be best.
Towels were modest in size, though I am above average so this is relative. They still did the job amply. Housekeeping is only on demand so be aware. There is no in-room safe. An iron and ironing board was provided and worked well enough. The dual alarm clocks are connected to the table lamps, which also sports a magnetic cell phone charger for those with iPhones capable of the magnetic charge. USB slots are also provided for the rest of the world, as well as 2 prong electrical outlets.
The fireplace was also enjoyable for aesthetics. We purchased a single 4 hour bio-log from the front desk for $12.00. If you are seeking more, it is likely more economical to purchase similar from the store off property.
Staff was very pleasant and helpful, regardless of the request. Bellhop bag service is available and room transportation is provided via golf cart. Be aware that rooms "up the hill" come with multiple stairs (there is no elevator as they are all outdoor access rooms in separate buildings). Those located closer to the golf course greens and main building (lobby, restaurant, golf shop) do not have stairs and are best for mobility challenged guests. The resort is spacious so bring good walking shoes with you.
The property in general is amply beautiful offering you a true Arizona desert experience. The cacti (do not touch) are everywhere; the flowering shrubbery provide ample ambiance; the mountains and vistas add to the overall wonderful scenery and surrounding! Photo opportunities are everywhere. For those unfamiliar with the Arizona desert environment, this will definitely offer you a chance to enjoy it all around you! Sunsets will be visually stunning- be sure NOT to miss it!
The on premise restaurant, "Kokopelli's" is a fair eatery. The menu, while not vast, does offer ample selection for everyone's liking. We enjoyed the ribs, hot and BBQ chicken wings, breakfast buffet (Sunday's only), and drinks. All were amply good, though I know better can be found off property. The catering offering for the wedding related festivities were also amply good. Bar service both for the dinner as well as the wedding festivities were fine. I would have had no objections to eating all my meals there, though I would have missed out on better food elsewhere.
The resort location is in relative close proximity to a pharmacy, other restaurants, and other necessities should you need to go.
Overall, this was a perfectly fine place to stay for the weekend. If I played golf, it may have proved even more enjoyable. I would happily stay here again, though I may ask for a room with better water pressure, though this was not a complete deal breaker for me.
- Jenny (8/5): - Been visiting for several years. Very quiet.
- Aleyda (10/5): - Finding the casita was a bit of a challenge. There should be more signs around the property detailing where the casitas are with maps.
- Annie (6/5): - The room was "surface clean" but needed a deep cleaning. The baseboards were dirty and so was the bathtub mat. I needed a plug behind the bed stand, there was dirt and trash that had been there a long time. The ac/heating unit had a note aped to the thermostat to not lower it below 70 because it would freeze. It would kick on about every 30 mins and it sounded like a plane taking off over the bed. Kept waking me up. The staff was nice. The main bldg and golf course looked nice.
- Corrie (2/5): - We had to move rooms twice because we needed two queen beds and they kept giving us a room with one king bed. The rooms are outdated and smell funky. The blanket at the end of our bed was visibly dirty. Yuck! We travel this way often and will never stay here again.
- 999melindav (4/5): Not worth it. Not clean , very dated - We wanted a nice hotel in Mesa- as we had a wedding in town. This place was really expensive $300+ a night. Our first 'casita' smelled funny and the AC did not work, so they moved us next door. It was a little nicer but still very worn and dirty. If the nearby Residence Inn had not been sold out we would have left immediately. The room was obviously built around the 70s with some poorly implemented upgrades. Faucets didn't work properly in bathroom. Shower wouldn't adjust to had to stand right next to the wall to get shampoo out. Place was gross -dust, stains, etc. Enough said...
- Gayle (10/5): - The girl at the front desk was very nice and helpful. She got us an early check in
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional - Setting. Atmosphere
- 916chandlert (2/5): “Resort and Spa” more like 80’s overpriced trailer park infested with bugs and rude people - My cousin recently was married here. The views are amazing…. But that’s it. The room was terrible, outdated, overpriced, and musty. There were bugs everywhere and even in the “clean” bed. Staff is awful and rude. The wedding bartenders are also extremely rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend anyone to stay here or get married here. It’s also impossible to get an Uber or other ride share ride out of the place. So keep that in mind if you are out of town and would likely need an Uber to the airport in the morning. Overall a very bad experience. Nicole is also super unprofessional and horrible at her job with booking. Stay far away
- April (5/5): Passable -
- DayTrip484410 (6/5): Used to love this place - This resort is in a beautiful location and has many amenities such as a nice pool, restaurant and spa. We also like that they allow pets. Our dogs have a blast running in their own hole on the golf course!
The reason for the 3 star review is that the place needs a refresh. The furnishings are outdated and uncomfortable. One of the showers didn't work. The place wasn't very clean. There was a significant amount of dust under the bed. There was a screw in the tea kettle, not sure how that got there, but if the kitchen was properly cleaned someone should have noticed it!
We really like this resort and we have visited a couple of times but we won't be going back, unfortunately because it seems a bit run down.
- robrK3606WL (2/5): A Motel, not a Resort - The name "Resort" is totally misrepresented. This is a 1 star Motel. The property is beautiful. I'm not a golfer but the golf course looks nice. There is basically no parking and you will need someone to drive you to and from your room in a golf cart. Most of the rooms don't have parking spaces right outside your room. My wife and I are both handicap so we had to call to get a ride to and from our car. I don't suggest tipping for the ride because it can get expensive and it's because they don't have adequate parking that we need a ride all the time. I will tip if they are loading and unloading our luggage. All the rooms are at the top of a steep hill. The rooms needs major renovations. The buildings are old and have never been renovated. The things that need to be replaced are the doors with new door frames, windows, and the central A/C units that are in the ceilings. I have stayed here in different rooms in the past and they all have the same issues. The doors have gaps around the door that bugs can and will crawl through. We had a lot of bugs in our room which we told the maintenance guy and he said he would be back to spray the room but never came back. I actually had a water cup on the nightstand which when I took a drink from the cup there was a bug in it which I spit out! The central A/C unit is so loud you would think a locomotive is coming down the tracks. I had to sleep on my side with another pillow on top of my head covering my ear and then lying there awake thinking of all the bugs coming through the gaps in the doors and windows. So good luck trying to sleep. The King beds are comfortable (I think some of them are new), and the queen beds are stiff as a board. The staff at the front desk were very nice and accommodating.
One day we were sitting on the back patio and a rattle snake came by to say hi. We called the front desk and they were quick to send someone to catch it and take away.
I don't think we will return and stay here until the owner(s) decide to spend some money and do a major renovation. They need to do it right with top of the line materials and finishes, and not the cheap stuff.
- Claydar (4/5): Disappointing - Can't think of anything Room was dirty, dead flies on counter, toilet seat left up with pee on it, no soap, toilet broke and didn't work at all, food isn't good as I had to send it back twice and still was unedible. Overall wish I could have my $400 back and go.somewhere else.
- Clifford (3/5): Probably would not recommend this place as we live in our home now. This community is growing and it just needs a Re-fr - The customer service ppl were amazing as well as the girls in Restaurant, Food very good.
Room was absolutely terrible, we were traveling with a dog, so perhaps that’s why we got a horrible room. It needs a complete overhaul, the curtains didn’t fit windows, couldn’t block out morning light. It was dirty and furnishings were like a motel 6. I think if they have money the rooms need a refresh. Air conditioner was so loud, it woke us up all night long and our dog would bark Everytime it came on. Just great people, poor rooms. Rooms very dated from like 70’s
- Verified traveler (4/5): Dissapointed ! - We were really looking forward to this stay.
Parking was terrible. Had to make 3 trips up a long path, up and down hills in 109 degree weather to get our luggage, golf clubs, etc.
The split level room was different. The TV was very small and was up by the ceiling. It hurt our neck to look up from the lower level couch. From the bed area, we could not see or hear it because was at least 20 feet away.
You could see through the front door. The door was actually split in several places and the seal was awful. The AC unit was right behind the bed wall and very loud. It came on every 15 minutes the whole night keeping us awake. The heat just came right through the front door. There was no microwave. There was no Ice anywhere except in the restaurant. You had to take your Ice bucket and walk up and down the hilly terrain to get ice. But you had to make sure to get it before the restaurant closed at 9:00 PM. Then we had a cricket "chirping"at 11:00 pm. Found it 15 minutes later under the couch.
The Sidewinder golf course was average.
The driving range was small and only have mats to hit off of so no driver practice. No sand bottles, no rakes in the sand traps. They said if you land in a foot print or divot to just move your ball to a different spot in the trap. Really! They said it was because of COVID. Funny thing is that this was the only thing they were still doing from COVID. No masks, anywhere, no surface wipes, etc. Seems like they just didn't want to do the work.
- Audrey (4/5): Disappointing - The property was unique. Very beautiful views. The shower in the room didn't spray hardly from the old uncleaned shower head. The outlets in the rooms didn't work.
