- DCtopcat (8/5): Spa hotel with great location and staff. - Staudacherhof is a spa hotel where quests are expected to spend most of their time outside of the room. The spa and the restaurant are excellent, with one of the best breakfasts I have seen. The town and surrounding area are beautiful mountain areas that shouldn’t be missed. The only negative is that the rooms are very small with little area to take things out of your luggage. The appointments are very well done though and the beds are very comfortable.

We always passed it as we walked to town and said we’d stay there “someday.” After they moved, we first visited and have now been 4 years in a row. We have gone 3 times as a couple and 2 years ago brought our 3 adult kids, a friend, and a boyfriend and they all LOVED it too. That “boyfriend” is now a fiancé and the wedding couple has asked us to bring everyone back next year following their wedding for everyone to relax and enjoy a break after the wedding festivities. We are all ALREADY excited and talking about it! Book for unforgettable memories, drinks by the fire, sumptuous breakfasts, and relaxing spa facilities. The BEST!
- erno01 (10/5): Staudacherhof continues the long family tradition of excellence and comfort - We have been visiting since 2004. 118 years of tradition stands in the firm and capable hands of Peter and Dagmar who continue to set the bar high with their exceptional product from check-in to check-out...especially where our favorite corner room was spotlessly clean and fully functional with our Zugspitze view. The grounds are very relaxing with a variety of sitting areas to enjoy peace and quiet. The meal services continue to meet or exceed expectations in variety, quality, and presentation where Staudacherhof continue to work through their dinner service options this year. We were fortunate to experience the Sunday 5-course gourmet meal option which delivered a wonderful assortment of fusion plates with fantastic flavor combinations. Great experience! The outdoor pool seating area is the best while soaking up the surrounding mountains. The property is located very close to town, making it very walkable. The staff continue to be respectful and courteous, providing outstanding service with a smorgasbord of opportunities to keep you busy while visiting this fine residence and wonderful region of Bayern. We’ll be seeing you again next fall!
- 916karar (10/5): Charming, upscale spa hotel in quiet neighborhood 10 minute walk to town - My sister recommended this hotel, and of course, she was spot on. Charming spa hotel within a 10 minute walk to town. We stayed 3 nights and spent one day at the spa, one day at the zugspitze and one day exploring Linderhof and Oberamagau. Breakfast was plentiful with numerous choices-something for everyone. The bar was cozy and charming and dinner was very nice as well. Service everywhere was attentive and it made for a very relaxing trip. Shout out to the massage therapists-deep massage or aromatherapy massage, money well spent! The front desk also assisted us in getting tickets to the Zugspitze, which was very helpful. I did a lot of homework on where to stay and I'd definitely stay here again. We left something behind and they found it right away-that alone is exceptional.

- John (10/5): Beautiful hotel with an amazing staff - From checkin to checkout, every one of the staff was friendly and helpful. Loved our room - nice and large with a huge shower - and very recently renovated. Breakfast was excellent, and we enjoyed one dinner at the hotel restaurant during our three night stay. The pool and spa areas were modern, clean, and very comfortable. Excellent hotel, I strongly recommend staying here.

Also, there is NO air conditioning in the rooms, windows are great but when the temps hit 90f it was hit. All together the hotel was ok, but I’d look somewhere else next time.

- O2733HUlindap (10/5): Not to be missed, a true gem! - A truly wonderful traditional Bavarian gem. Have just spent 3 nights here, I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, with great views of the mountains. Fantastic pool areas for swimming and relaxing. The area is quiet and walking distance to the town. Breakfasts are hearty with a wide selection offered to start your day. We ate dinner here last evening and so glad we did, amazing food and wine. Finally, from the friendly welcome and throughout, the staff have been attentive and have made our stay one to remember. Danke schon!

- F4439FOtraceyl (10/5): BEAUTIFUL Hotel - This hotel was incredible from the moment we booked until we left. The process to book was super easy, I even added a day after the initial booking with no problem and help from the reception staff. The hotel was incredibly clean everywhere. The outside was absolutely beautiful and stood out from every building around us. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, every type of food you could imagine. We ate dinner in the restaurant that earned a Michelin star and it exceeded all our expectations. The rooms were beautifully furnished and again, clean, superb! They have cold drinks to welcome us and a fan to use in the hot days we were there. The water in the hotel is specially filtered and was all we drank while we were there, it was so great to not have to buy water. Parking was a breeze and included in the room rate. We were walking distance to shops and grocery stores and had a view of the Zugspitze! Centrally located to everything you’ll want to see in GaPa. I can’t say enough good things about how happy we were with our stay. Beds were comfortable and you could hear no traffic or noise, only the nature and church bells. The pool was gorgeous, and again, impeccably maintained. Spa services seemed luxurious and plentiful. They had bikes to borrow and a station to clean your car. They literally thought of everything you could need. I’m sure there was a lot more we didn’t even realize was available to us. I found online that they had laundry service but they do not, however there is a laundromat up the street if you need.

We stayed in the renovated annex building, nice room, but the floors were really worn down already. Cleaning only every other day, was not up to standard especially when travelling with young children. Friendly staff, but didn’t provide much information on the facilities (pool, spa, yoga, sauna etc). They should consider if the hotel want to be for families (some noice to be expected) or a romantic quiet spa hotel for couples.

- eriksS1227XN (2/5): Bed Bugs - We reserved two rooms at Staudacherhof last week. After two nights of sleeping in Room 217, my father was covered in dozens of bed bug bites and we found a dead bed bug under the bed frame. We reported this situation immediately to the front desk. The hotel representative explained to us that there had been a known issue in that exact room for months prior, which they believed had been resolved. Immediately my parents were switched to a different room and the hotel offered to launder all of their belongings at a high heat, and they were ultimately offered a 50% discount on their 4nts lodging. The remainder of our trip was tarnished by this experience, my father experienced significant pain and discomfort from the many bites, my parents had to go over 24 hours without access to their personal belongings while they were being disinfected. We have also had to go to great lengths to ensure we do not bring these pests back to our homes (expense and inconvenience). We shared this experience with the owner, Peter Staudacher, and asked for a full refund of the charges for my parents room only. We are of the opinion that despite the 50% discount, being charged over €500 for this stay is inappropriate due to the pain and suffering this has caused. Peter Staudacher has refused the refund, he believes our “claim is not appropriate” We cannot recommend this hotel and will not be back.

The staff were lovely, they had a shuttle which ran to the slopes every morning and afternoon and made it really easy to get around. They were super accommodating and helpful, had everything we needed for our stay. Food was great, robes and spa are great and views are gorgeous. A real gem!!

We ate breakfast 2x while there & the buffet was outstanding. All of the spa facilities were great- dry heat sauna, hot tub, yoga room. I highly recommend this hotel!

Wellness und Schwimmbad waren auch ein Highlight. Vor allem hat uns die Detailorientierung beindrückt mit einer persönlichen Nachricht zum Geburts -und Hochzeitstag. Das einzige 'aber' wäre der Standort, etwas aus dem Weg zum Zentrum/Einkauf und zu Restaurants. Das sollte Euch vom Buchen aber nicht abhalten.

The breakfast room, pools, garden and entrance are so comfortable and elegant. The hotel is in a neighborhood, just a short walk to the main square and 20 minute walk from train station and Zugspitze. Would highly recommend.

The family continues to set the bar high with their exceptional product from check-in to check-out where the room was spotlessly clean and fully functional with a view that lasts forever. All meal services continue to meet or exceed expectations in variety, quality, and presentation where they are working through their dinner service options this year. The spa continues to excel, exceeding expectations across all facets - the pool seating area is the best while soaking up the surrounding mountains. The property is located very close to town, making it very walkable. The staff continue to be respectful and courteous, providing outstanding service with a smorgasbord of opportunities to keep you busy while visiting this fine residence and wonderful region of Bayern. We’ll be seeing you again next fall!

The breakfast was absolutely superb, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options that made every morning a delight. The spa area was a real highlight—spacious, well-designed, and the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the Bavarian Alps, making the experience feel luxurious and relaxing. While the rooms were on the smaller side, they were comfortable and well-maintained, with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The hotel's location is also good, offering easy access to both the town and surrounding nature. Overall, Staudacherhof exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend it for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway!

Otherwise it’s a great hotel in a quiet location and quite accessible. The heated pools (both indoor and outdoor) and sauna/steam rooms/spa are lovely. My wife and I both got amazing massages as well.

Das Team ist von der Leitung bis zu den Auszubildenden absolut zuvorkommend und hat bei uns immer wieder einmal für kleine Wow-Erfahrungen gesorgt - Positives, das wir nicht erwartet hätten. Die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter am Empfang waren immer absolut hilfsbereit, freundlich und sind auf unsere Fragen und Wünsche immer sofort eingegangen. Neben dem sehr freundlichen und engagierten Restaurant-Team verdient insbesondere die Küche ein besonderes Lob. Die Menüauswahl, die Qualität der Zutaten, die Kochkunst und die Präsentation der Speisen war hervorragend. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und lecker. Der Wellnessbereich ist für die Größe des Hotels absolut angemessen, gut gepflegt und für unsere Ansprüche mehr als ausreichend. Parkplätze am Hotel sind ausreichend, es gibt zwei Ladestationen für e-Autos, die während unseres Aufenthalts nur wenig genutzt wurden. Wären wir mit dem e-Auto da gewesen, wir hätten immer ausreichend Gelegenheit zum Laden gehabt. Familien sind willkommen (wir und auch andere Gäste waren mit Kindern da), allerdings würde ich nicht mit einer ganzen Rasselbande dort aufschlagen, da kleinere Kids im Wellnesshotel vermutlich den Spielplatz vermissen würden. Sehr positiv: Die Lage! Man kann von hier aus alles Wichtige schnell erreichen und dennoch herrscht nachts absolute Ruhe, weil keine größeren Straßen in der Nähe sind. Wir waren begeistert!

Man fühlt sich als Gast sehr wohl während des Aufenthalts, das Hotel hat bis zu kleinsten Details dem Wohlbefinden der Gäste bemüht. Und das ist ein großer Pluspunkt ggü. Kettenhotel unabhängig davon ob diese 5 Sterne hat. Das Personal ist professionell geschult und wirklich sehr freundlich. Einziger Nachteil ist das Zimmer wo wir waren lag relativ nah an der Hauptstraße, in der Nacht aufgrund der vielen Verkehr ist es schon etwa laut mit offenem Fenster Insgesamt waren wir sehr happy und kommen gerne wieder!

There was a nice variety for breakfast & lunch which were included. The room had a day pack for hiking or a day out and about the town. The location allows for an easy walk to shop or eat. Daniel at the bar can make any drink and has many unique recipes.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Full disaster- don't stay here - Checked in at 9:30pm for a one night stay. Got put in the annex building and given directions for how to drive there and park. Went to find dinner and then find the room. At 10:30pm, we were driving circles trying to find the building. It was dark and the signs were impossible to read. Had to call them to send someone. It was very dark and I was clearly upset and they literally did nothing.They did not offer to help with bags (this is not a real 4 star property). And the annex does not have an elevator. So, I had to drag luggage up the stairs. Sheets were stained. Room was fine. Hair dryer was great. No conditioner- just a shower gel/shampoo combo thing. Breakfast was fine but inattentive- had to run up to a server to get coffee. At checkout, they asked me how my stay was. I said "Not good"- and they lady just looked confused and said sorry. No asking for feedback. Nothing. I think lunch was included in our stay as well, but we just got out of there.

I even enjoyed a bicycle ride around town on the bikes provided for use by the hotel, while my wife and daughter spent time in the spa. I enthusiastically recommend the Staudacher Hotel.

I had asked for them to decorate the room for our celebration, which they did a nice job. Breakfast was good. We didn't eat dinner there just because it was limited in options. What I found highly disappointing was that that I couldn't get a massage for both of us at the same time because they were booked up. If I would have known that I would have booked it a while back. We were in the middle of a heat wave when we went and there was only a small fan for the room. The room felt very muggy and when asked for another fan they did not have extras. The shower also had some mold in the edges of the tub. The Mountain View wasn't what was expected. The wifi was also very slow. If you are to go, I would not go with this room but maybe a higher end room for a better experience. If known, I would have book the honeymoon suite.

The cleaning people left the patio door open and anyone could have come in. I could not wait to leave.
