• Rafi (1/5): Discriminatory treatment masked behind psychological games. - The property is fine and has a nice structure. However, no appearance can compensate for the heavy prejudice, lack of basic respect, and discriminatory treatment we received from the host, which completely ruined the experience. Our stay was deeply upsetting due to the host's toxic behavior. Upon arrival, she asked our nationality, then immediately corrected herself to ask about our ethnicity/origin, which shocked us. She treated our backpacks as a threat, led us to a cramped terrace, and subjected us to a hostile interrogation with invasive personal questions. While manually copying our data, she told an intimidating story about two Spanish guests taken away by the police right from the villa, a clear psychological game. The lounge was small and cluttered with furniture and decor, far from boutique luxury. We asked for a drink to relax on the terrace; she sharply refused, saying she doesn't serve drinks, and coldly told us to go to a neighborhood bar, denying us the facilities we paid for. She then intentionally assigned us a PRM room by the street exit, despite having no such need, solely to keep us segregated from the main villa. The breakfast was very poor and served with clear contempt. We felt unwelcome and judged by our origin. My initial silence was due to good upbringing, not ignorance. After departure, she condescendingly sent a Carl Jung quote to mask her lack of professionalism and her conscious discriminatory choices.

La chambre était très confortable (l’hôtel est au calme) et le petit déjeuner excellent. Grâce à Bianca, Ns avons passé un excellent séjour sur San Sébastien . Elle nous a proposé de bonnes adresses et a également réservé des restaurants pour nous, notamment celui du 31 décembre. Dominique et Laurent Rien. Tout était parfait.

Não conseguimos ir no dia combinado, pelo que nos ofereceram uma noite para compensar, pena que não podemos aproveitar. O quarto, suite júnior, era muito pequeno. O pequeno almoço tinha bons produtos, mas servido de forma individual, sem escolha tipo buffet, não nos conseguimos fazer entender com quem nos serviu, e acabamos por comer apenas o que nos davam, na sequência idealizada por eles (por exemplo, o croissant, excelente mas muito doce, era servido ao inicio, pedimos pão e serviram tostas de presunto e salmão fresco), o que limitou a nossa satisfação.

As other reviews have mentioned, our host Blanca made our visit extra special with her warm hospitality and “insider” tips on how to get the most out of our visit. It was a memorable time for us!

Mycket servicemindad personal som ger tips om restauranger, färdmedel, utflykter mm. Poolen var inte uppvärmd men det var bra ändå. Många olika sittgrupper inne och ute. En bäddmadrass i sängen för att mjuka upp det lite.

• Amy (9/5): Wonderful host and beautiful property - Beautiful interiors, excellent breakfast and a fabulous host who gave brilliant recommendations for our stay in San Sebastián. The walk to the old town and beaches was about 25 minutes and very easy - also good to walk off the Pintxos. Parking was also easy and very secure and the local buses were regular and easy to find. There was a bit of traffic noise - to be expected from a city.

Ein schöner Rückzugsort nach einer Städtetour in San Sebastian. Blanca, die Chefin, ist die Seele des kleinen 5 Zimmer hotels! Man fühlt sich rundum wohl und sicher. Das Hotel liegt etwas abseits, ist aber mit der Buslinie 13 bestens mit dem Zentrum verbunden. Zur Station läuft man ca. 3 Minuten. Die Busse fahren durchgehend alle 5 Minuten. Ein Parkplatz vor dem Hotel ist auch vorhanden! Nichts!

Great pool and breakfast area. Having stayed in many so called 5 star properties and being largely disappointed this was definitely a 5 star experience.Bianca was a fabulous host and looked after us like we were family, ably supported by assistant Simar. We will certainly be returning along with the rest of our family. That we had to leave 😁

Our host Blanca is a master of hospitality, taking care of all your needs with a big smile and a dose of humor. You will need a taxi as it is a bit from the city centre, but in return you get tranquility that we did not enjoy when we stayed at the hotels in the city centre. So for us this is the perfect mix to enjoy the best pinxtos and food while also having some R&R. See you soon Blanca and thank you for your ❤️ We have no negative aspects to mention here. • Niels (4/5): Nice hotel, but not for us - Sometimes it's just not a good fit between a guest and the owner. On arrival I wrote that it was the best reception we ever had. After the first night I had a small complaint and that was taken completely the wrong way. The worst thing was that, when my wife went down to the reception to pick up some new towls, some things were said by the owner that were completely out of line and incredibly rude. The owner will probably write in the comments that we are terrible people, but we really are not. Some good things about this hotel: The property was nice, the shower very good, the bed very good, also the pool area and breakfast were very good. Parking was a bit difficult but all guests could park on the property.The location is okay if you, like us, like to walk a lot. There are also busses going to the centre.

• peter (8/5): There’s so much to see in San Sebastián that we barely had time to use the pool. - Blanca warmly welcomed us into her beautiful property and gave us great tips about transport around the area, its history, and recommendations for places to visit in San Sebastián. The accommodation was spotless and the attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. Huge comfortable bed and delicious breakfast. Dual aspect windows in bedroom meant it was light and airy during the day and the blackout blinds did their job in the morning. USB sockets by bed were a bonus. Our room wasn’t big enough to store our suitcases or accommodate a dressing table/desk. English TV channels were very limited. Unable to use the backup Firestick we brought as could not connect it to wall mounted TV. Big fluffy towels were rather soggy after our 3 night stay - nowhere to dry them. If you want to make use of the pool in the afternoon, be sure to plan ahead for lunch as few options are available in the neighbourhood and nearby supermarkets close for siesta.

• Dick (10/5): Een pareltje in San Sebastian waar ik zo weer heen wil! - Supergastvrije hostess die het je naar de zin probeert te maken. Luxe uitstraling: heerlijk dikke grote handdoeken, grote badlakens voor bij het zwembad. Fijne ligstoelen. Gratis koffie die je zelf kan pakken hele dag door. Heerlijk en goed ontbijt met vers fruit, verse jus, yoghurt en sneetjes geroosterd stokbrood/ciabatta met ham/zalm en kaas. En de bushalte naar de stad inderdaad om de hoek (Blanca legt precies uit waar) en voor 1,85 euro zit je zo bij het strand of in de oude stad. Ideaal. Parkeergelegenheid op het eigen terrein, erg fijn, want in de buurt geen vrije plekken gezien! Blanca nogmaals bedankt voor je tips en gastvrijheid! De slaapkamer is wat aan de kleine kant, vooral wat zoeken waar je je koffers moet laten als je net als wij teveel mee hebt, maar dat is minor problem.
• Franchy78 (10/5): Un havre de paix au confort remarquable - Nous avons absolument tout aimé. Blanca, la prorietaire solaire des lieux nous a gentiment accueillis et tout expliqué en détail. L'hôtel est une belle bâtisse a taille humaine (cela change des gros hotels) magnifiquement décorée. Les chambres sont vraiment Très belles, très spacieuses, très confortables, équipées d"une literie formidable et d'une propreté vraiment remarquable. L'endroit est particulièrement calme et la piscine vraiment superbe (nous y avons fait notre plouf) Vous ne regretterez pas non plus si vous prenez le petit déjeuner sur place (possibilité de le prendre face a la piscine) Mélange de fruits frais de qualité et de plats chauds servis à table. le moment est vraiment appréciable. Côté emplacement, n'ayez pas peur d'être un peu excentré, déjà parce que cela permet de profiter du calme de ce quartier et parce que Blanca laisse la possibilité de garer la voiture a l'intérieur (nous avons laissé la nôtre sur une des places places non payantes du quartier -> tres sûr) Ensuite se rendre dans le centre est très simple : vous mettrez environ 30mn à pieds pour arriver au niveaux des ponts de la ville ou pourrez prendre le bus (ligne 13) qui ne met que quelques minutes pour arriver au centre (pour un coût de 1,85€ l'aller au moment ou nous y étions - possibilité de payer par carte) et qui vous dépose a moins de 100m de l'hôtel. Nous en avons pris un vers 22h30 le soir pour rentrer, autant dire que cela laissé un peu de marge. Bref vous l'aurez compris l'adresse mérite vraiment le détour par son calme son confort son originalité et la qualité de l'accueil (merci encore Blanca !) Nous reviendrons a n'en pas douter ! Rien

• Clara (10/5): Lovely sanctuary - It’s very exclusive and person. There was only 6 rooms and you enjoy the personal touch with the host and the facilities of the hotel It’s not exactly close to the Center so we need to walk a bit or take a bus. The bus was convenient enough and there are nice parks and restaurants in this part of town also. Do it’s actually all good.
• Alexandra (10/5): Rundum perfekter Aufenthalt in San Sebastian - Die Lage, der Pool, die Einrichtung und die Sauberkeit. Das Frühstück war sehr frisch und lecker und immer mit einer besonderen Note. Blanca, die Gastgeberin, ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie hat uns viele tolle Tipps gegeben und uns hervorragende Restaurants und Bars gebucht. Danke Blanca für deine Herzlichkeit!Der Anschluss ans öffentliche Verkehrsnetz könnte idealer nicht sein. Bushaltestelle ist 5 min entfernt und die Busse fahren fast rund um die Uhr.

• Jennifer (2/5): - Would not recommend based on experience we had that included the following: 1. Blanca, the owner repeatedly made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable for our two-night stay due to very rigid rules with a feeling that we were staying in a horrible mother-in-law’s home. 2. Blanca criticized us for the amount of luggage we had and watched us bring it all in ourselves, reminding us that we had the smallest room and were not going to be receiving breakfast. 3. MAJOR PROBLEM- we had a number of important receipts on the night table that Blanca’s housekeeper threw out. At first, she insisted that the housekeeper did not throw anything out, but after much pleading she finally called her only to discovered that they were put in the garbage. Blanca made my husband go offsite a block away to a dumpster to go through the garbage with her only to recover some of our receipts, the whole time saying that this was not her responsibility and that if they were important, they should have been in the safe. Blanca was very aggressive and yelling (I have videos to prove it), threatened to call the police on us and had her husband who only spoke French come upstairs and yell at us and point fingers in our faces. There was not only zero accountability, there was no apology. Overall, this was the single worst stay we have ever had in over 25 years of traveling. DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
• Xandra (10/5): Fantastisch! - Villa Birdie en haar eigenaar Blanca zijn in 1 woord fantastisch. Blanca zorgt ervoor dat je je direct thuisvoelt en is zeer gastvrij. Niks is haar te veel. Villa Birdie is zeer smaakvol ingericht en voelt luxe aan. Rustig gelegen, fijn zwembad, heerlijk ontbijt en prachtige kamers. Wij kunnen Villa Birdie bij iedereen aanraden. Blanca en team ; jullie zijn van goud en dankjewel voor deze fijne vakantie!

• Alison (10/5): Wow! This villa is a hidden gem to explore the gorgeous Basque coastline. - Blanca the hostess was wonderful. She was so friendly and gave us great restaurant recommendations which she booked for us. The villa is in a great location, in a quiet residential area but only a 2 minute walk to the bus stop to get to Gros and the old town for fabulous restaurants and bars. The villa is spotlessly clean and the pool area is great to relax around. Breakfast was lovely with fruits, yogurt, croissants, meats and cheeses all enjoyed outside in the garden. Would definitely visit again next time we are in the area. Nothing

• Judith (10/5): The perfect place to stay & explore Saint Sebastian! - This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The hostess is delightful - friendly, smiling & extremely helpful in every way. She cannot do enough for you! Breakfast is an absolute delight. The Villa is beautifully stylish & comfortable with a lovely garden &pool to enjoy. She took time to explain how to get to the centre of town on the bus ( just 5 minutes walk to the bus stop) & the best places to visit & eat. We have enjoyed some of the best tapas ever. She is fluent in French & English (& Spanish of course!). Thank you to you & your staff for making our stay so memorable.
