Guest Reviews
- Steven (4/5): Can't trust the overall review score! - I booked the hotel for a work trip so budget was in mind. Having seen that the hotel had an overall rating of 7 and GOOD I thought it would be ok, but nothing swanky.
On arrival I was disappointed, yes I knew it was on an estate but it is rough. Broken wall on entry and an old mattress by the bins in the carpark. I did get an upgrade to my room which was nice ..... The place looks tired, my room basic and uninspiring, the windows did not shut/seal properly and my shower cold and bathroom small and narrow.I asked that the shower be looked at, the guy said it had been and I had a barely luke warm shower then next morning.
When I re-examined the reviews on this site the scores were either 2's or 4's and 10's!! I'm sorry but there is no way this hotel is ever a 10. There are no scores around 7 which is obviously the average. These random scores of 10 are inflating the overall results, I would never stay here again.
- Peter (4/5): - The property was very dated. The lift didn’t work and it was a 15 minute walk to the nearest resturant
- mark (4/5): - Not for me people up and down the corridors all night lots of noise
- Ann (10/5): - We had a brilliant stay. The hosts were so nice and made it feel like home. Absolutely gutted we can’t book for next year cos it’s already fully booked.
- Mark (2/5): Look elsewhere - Rooms were not clean location i s awefull on an industrial estate constant moving hgvs and a fan running all night
- David (4/5): - Not nice!
- Verified traveler (10/5): 👍 - Clean, comfortable, free parking on site and good value for money.
- Keith (8/5): You get what you pay for - A decent place to stay, generally clean except for the bathroom sink. Wifi is useless.
- Tony (6/5): Non-existent wifi - I gave up on the WiFi. They ask you to enter the name of the network as well as password. This is tricky and obviously to deter guests from using it. I tried the correct code a few times but it didn’t work.
- Steve (2/5): - Unstaffed, unable to check in.
- Mark (2/5): Don’t stay here - Poor hotel with no facilities other than a room very dirty throughout would not stay here again
- Tanya (8/5): Good value for money - Good value for money for an overnight stay while visiting the nearby Bicester village and then a short drive to Oxford on my way home. Basic but good for what I paid. Comfy bed and warm clean shower. Checking out was a little slow but other than that no complaints
- Verified traveler (6/5): Bad - I was given the wrong room, I paid for a family room and was given a small double.
There were bug monitors everywhere due to a cockroach infestation.
The sides were dusty, the bed pulled out and there was rubbish all behind it so clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly.
I won’t be staying again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else does either.
- Kas (6/5): - Cockroach infestation
- Marie (6/5): - We paid fir bed and breakfast but no breakfast was available
- Barry (8/5): - It was adequate for my purposes
- Dave (4/5): Small rooms - Thought it was slightly overpriced for the size of the room. The en-suite was so small that you needed to reverse into it. The continental breakfast was very good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - basic comfortable hotel, no problems, suited us for our purpose
- DavidSmith (10/5): - overall the visit was good. The breakfast was lovely, and it was very good to have a toaster which worked very well.
The only thing which was most annoying the height of the wash basin, and the shelf above did not let one wash your face or clean your teeth. THE ONLY PROBLEM.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - My first room was NOT suitable for a double room. It was half taken up by a queen size bed, leaving no room to comfortably move around unless one person was in the sub cupboard of a bathroom. I arrived just after midnight so don’t argue. In the morning I argued for a better room and was given a twin room which was more spacious. Luckily for both the owner and myself I will not be returning.
- Martin (8/5): - All good. Very helpful service. The lift was noisy when it 'dinged' .i.e when it was used through the night. Suspect rooms coud do with more sound proofing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff very nice and helpful. Very clean, good bedding and towels. Downside a bit out of town but nice and quiet at weekends
- C (8/5): Good hotel, good location - Good hotel, good location
- Jean Pierre (8/5): Avis - Bien
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bathroom needs replacing and the carpet in bedroom needs replacing and the bedroom. Want painting
- Phil (8/5): Clean - Good hotel
- jason (8/5): Nice - Nice size room friendly staff lovely breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value - Not the best hotel however, it is clean, friendly and good value for money
- Verified traveler (10/5): I would highly recommend - Location
- SHUANG (10/5): 便宜的酒店 - 价格虽然便宜但是早餐实在不尽人意非常简单。
- Andy (10/5): Amazing - Amazing
- paul (10/5): Great place - Nice staff not to far from town great breakfast clean rooms would recommend this hotel to anyone we was staying here to visit silverstone so not to far
- Nichola (8/5): Perfectly located for Bicester Village! - Wanted a reasonably priced stop over within walking distance of Bicester Village; with car parking. Knowing we would be spending the evening out, we didn't need any facilities at the hotel except breakfast. Was happy for the hotel to be on a business park as rightly guessed it would be quiet on a Saturday night and it was an easy 20 minute walk to the town and shopping village. Was pleasantly surprised by the personal service we received - the owner showed us to our room! The room served us well with comfortable beds, tv, tea and coffee making facilities and a shower room. Was a very humid night, so fan in room was very welcome! Buffet breakfast of typical cereals, toast and cold meats had a nice touch of boiled eggs ready! A small establishment so you may have to wait a little before a table is free for breakfast but all in all the b&b does what it says! We were able to find both a pub showing the football and then a lovely pub restaurant for dinner (King's Arms) in the town just 10-15 minutes walk from b&b. Staying here is a good way to save your money for the designer shopping!
- Neal (10/5): Kelly's party - Pleasant place decent price, great breakfast
- Ann (8/5): Nice hotel quiet location - Very easy to find not too far from town center would recommend
- Colin (6/5): It was OK - Room was as described. It was basic. Bathroom was functional, shower worked well. Plug sockets worked, lights worked.....apart from the annoying bathroom light that seemed to be on a timer!
Downsides....there was a lovely leak stain on the bathroom ceiling, no housekeeping, and no cooked breakfast, just a help yourself continental style on.....sure it said cooked breakfast, but I maybe wrong.
- David (8/5): Good hotel, well placed - I only stayed 1 night but I found the hotel was perfect for my stay.
- Liam (6/5): For the price, its great - Close to bicester village - fairly basic hotel - but will stay again
- Micaela (6/5): Basic but good accomodation - The accommodation is basic, however the staff are friendly and helpful. Whilst basic, breakfast was plentiful.
- Hannah (8/5): Value for money - Good value for money but decor a little outdated. Friendly staff available 24hr, shown to room on arrival which I felt was a nice touch. Bed was very comfy and good facilities in room ie. tea/coffee, shower gel/shampoo. Nothing too fancy but you get what you pay for and breakfast included in price although did not use on this occassion. Short walk into Bicester town but no amenities located particularly close to hotel - must be willing to walk/travel.
- Anne (6/5): More of a contractors hotel - Hotel okay. Didn't expect it to be in middle of industrial estate! Poor sleep due to room being incredibly warm and noise carrying from reception (voices, door banging). Room pleasant, breakfast basic but adequate. Staff (only saw one!) could have been friendlier!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): 다른 곳으로 - 주변 공장지대로 아무것도 없고 방이 너무 좁아 트렁크를 펼치기 힘듬. 걍 비스터빌리지에 늦을 경우에 할 수 없을 경우 선택
- Verified traveler (4/5): Cramped accommodation - This was my second B&B in Bicester in the same week. On the first occasion I had been squeezed into a tiny bedroom and bathroom with primitive breakfasting facilities, but in its defence it was clean and cheap.
The Almond Tree proved to be equally lacking in space with a miniscule (and not entirely fresh) bathroom. The bed was so close to one wall that it was difficult to get through to the window and two people in this bedroom would not know where to put their luggage. The breakfast facilities were better, but not remarkable. One good feature was an effective fan during the hottest day of the year.
Despite being hardly any better than my previous accommodation, the price was double!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location of hotel is very near to Bicester town and Bicester village, staff at hotel are helpful and hotel is clean.
- Colin (2/5): - Lots of noise throughout the night then finally got to sleep at 4am only to be woken up at 6:30 am by the sound of next doors headboard banging against the wall.
Needless to say I won't be returning
- alan (8/5): Expensive B/B - Not so bad, on noisy road so take earplugs, no A/C or blinds on windows. Dirty sheets
