Guest Reviews
- joe (2/5): - Turned up, reception was closed, someone at the hostel found the receptionist who offered us two keys depending on which room had been made up. Neither had been cleaned and after our long journey had to search the rest of town for a room on the same night.
- Jon (2/5): Office Closed on 3 visits. - Office staff had no record of my booking with Wotif. Immediately cancelled my potential visit on 30/7/2018.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - To be carefully of the luggage take out time if you want to store your luggage in common store room due to staff on shift.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never again - Terrible. Hostel staff don’t have a clue what’s going on, seems that no one is actually running the place. Rooms disgusting and unclean with many permenant resident making it look like a slum. Very loud.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No lockers and dorm doors are never locked! Rooms and ensuite bathroom dirty, verry thin and uncomfortable mattress. Reception is almost never open even tho it’s said otherwise online, and nobody picks up when you call. Had to leave my key(not that you’d have needed that one anyway) with another girl because I wanted to check out(at 9am!) and reception was closed.
Some nice people there tho, good wifi and a bar next door connected to it.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Smelly room. - Very bad smell in the room and horrible smell of feaces in the toilet. No toilet paper or pillows provided.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very basic and tired old hotel now being used for backpacker accommodation.
Room was musky smelling and very basic with facilities only just functioning.
- pp (8/5): Convenient stay with airport shuttle pick up - Just needed a night stay before heading back to home. Purposely chose a location with end of airport pick up..just took less than 15 mins drive to arrive at airport at 3.42am. The staff at inn was very kind to help me to do the airport shuttle booking without any glitch.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff forgot our late chek-in even though they were notified a week before, so we had to wait and call them at midnight to get our keys.
the room was ok, cant expect too much as it was the cheapest. “what you pay is what you get”
- Verified traveler (4/5): Run down in direpair - For an ensuite room: Shower doors that dont close. Sink drains with no stoppers, no freezer in fridge. Expect the minium and hope for the best.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Check jn was not good as expedia had not sent the booking to the right email address
- Marc (8/5): Groovy time at the Croc - Had a great time at Crocodilly. The owner was helpful and enjoyable. The Inn was in an excellent location and the pub next door was great. I was definitely crash here again of I visit Darwin. Thx
- Verified traveler (8/5): Basic but had everything needed - Room was basic but spacious. Large double bed with air conditioning. Good clean bathroom. Room overlooked the pool, no noise from here.
Ideally located close to town centre
- Verified traveler (10/5): Affordable + Comfy stay - Amazing place, everything was perfect for me and I enjoyed my journey in Darwin and my last days in Aussie. Really nice, comfortable and clean private bedroom where was provided new and clean towels. The bed itself was comfy enough for me, and each rooms get its air-conditioner.
Pool area was very good too and here it's free laundry and free wifi. The staff was really helpful and polite and the owner so friendly and gentle (he gave me a lift to the airport with one of his awesome car) , well it is quite a distance away from beaches and attractions in town. Definitively the best place to stay, thank you guys :D
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great customer service - Warm and hospitable manager
Great service received
Would return to the place again
- FiGi (6/5): Average hostel in a quieter part of town. - Your happiness with a stay here depends on your standards. It is away from the party strip on Mitchell St so is relatively quiet but with a bar next to the pool and no one around to enforce the 10pm quiet rule there was still noise well into the night. My dorm needed a good hoover, there was slime in the bathroom sink, the wall socket in the dorm was hanging out the wall by the wires and the air conditioning was weak. But as a regular backpacker I am used to varying standards and put up with them. Another person might be more turned off so be warned. This hostel will either be fine enough for you or disgust you depending on standards. Facilities: kitchen, pool, bar, TV room. Dorm room had an en suite.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hostel close to CBD - It was clean overall. Good location, close to CBD, Crocodile Cove car rental, Coles, bars, restaurants and coffees. The online booking service was efficient. They quickly responded to my enquiry regarding a late check in, providing with a code to give us access. Everything was quite straight forward and it was easy to book and get there.
It was just a little bit 'smelly' at night with all people from the bar beside smoking and all that smoke getting to the outside area or balcony of the rooms.
- john (6/5): Close to town. - Only real complaint was that I left a phone charger in the room. When I came back the staff were less than helpful. Can't believe in this day and age there was no TV in the room.
- Clare (8/5): good hostel - average hostel
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fancy and ideal hostel to stay in the CBD - This is the third hostel that I have been lived in Darwin CBD, compare to the previous two hostel, Crocodilly has more appropriate price, which actually is the cheapest one atm, the hostel facilities are quite new, every room has own bathroom and refrigerator. They have a nice pool as well, so far it's extremely clean and deep enough as i noticed.
To regard with the staff here, a thai lady who is enthusiastic about her job and very friendly to everyone. Manager is a reliable person as well, always looking after backpackers‘ safety...
