Guest Reviews
- Alain (8/5): -

- Katrien (7/5): - Zalig rustige omgeving.

Roligt sted, men lidt kedeligt.
Elevatoren virkede ikke så godt,
- Patrick (7/5): Good -
- Melanie (10/5): Great getaway from the city - The hotel staff are great. Dorus is very helpful. The food and beer selection are nice. They even had a great bike for me to ride.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - 3 sterren hotel?
- Russell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arjan (8/5): Good hotel and if needed I will book it again - Good hotel, location is perfect and really quiet. Restaurant is a bit dated and not great but gets your belly filled.
Big beer menu and very friendly staff Rooms dated, restaurant was not that great
- Rachel (9/5): Nice relaxing stay - They were able to accommodate us last minute. The area is beautiful, and had anything we needed. Rooms were comfortable and spacious.
- Samuel (9/5): Super nice place, perfect for a bit of a getaway in an unusual spot - it was a fantastic property that had so many things to do. I went for work so did not spend so much time there. I can say that the staff were super friendly and the breakfast was pretty good. The room was big and the town was nice I was by public transport, and the bus to the hotel did not operate on the days I was there.
- Steiger (8/5): - Old but a bit gold :)
- Efthymios (8/5): Very good -
- Russell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marco (8/5): - Great stay, friendly staff. Unique ambience.
Easy parking. Sound isolation indoors below average
- Clément (7/5): Good -
- Ilona (10/5): - Het hotel is prachtig gelegen. De kamer was netjes en schoon, bediening vriendelijk!
- Maarten (8/5): Very good -
- Steiger (8/5): - Soweit gut
Buona colazione.
- Stefan (8/5): Super Hotel - Super Hotel
- Steiger (8/5): - Grundsätzlich gutes Hotel
- Fanuel (7/5): Old and worn down. Past glory not worth the money. - Room was extremely hot, no air-conditioning. Everything is old, past glory. Beds were too soft, worn, as was the bathroom. Dinner menu was not appealing and breakfast choice was minimal. I'm definitely not returning there.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Habib (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pankaj (7/5): Good -
- Lynsey (9/5): Nice hotel great views - Basic for a 4 star but characterful and beautiful location single beds; easy to fall out of…
- Marcpeeters (2/5): inexperienced, unreliable and incompetent management, in particular a person by the name of Doris. - At the time of reservation in July and re-confirmation 3 months later for a 3-day stay in early October 2021, a double room was booked on the condition that access and support amenities for a handicapped person would be available in the reserved room. At the arrival date, it turned out that none of these facilities were available! Aside from a meager excuse, the explanation provided by a person called by the name of Doris was that he thought that the room concerned disposed of these amenities! The room was immediately canceled but we were left behind at 17.00pm with the impossible task of finding another room for handicapped persons for the coming 3 days! Thank you very much, Mr. Doris for your great service and professionalism! Hence my view on this hotel: Never again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): One night business stay - Bed very noisy but otherwise very nice and comfortable hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We arrived late but were still mate very welcome. Good breakfast, room warm and comfortable. Beds could do with updating, they're comfortable but creaky.
- Stuart (10/5): Lovely stay - Check in was quick, the room is quiet and spacious. Nice quite surrounding area with sport activities. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. Staff and friendly and helpful.
- Ian (10/5): - I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. When returning to the area for this trip I decided to try the hotel again. Glad I did. They made several improvements to the building but same excellent hotel and staff. Highly recommended.
- SiloChief (8/5): Quaint - Cozy spot. Apparently is or was an anointed spot for military personnel hospitality. Great for kids. There are small fishing ponds in the back for family time. Swings, and toys in the lobby for little ones. Decent breakfast with friendly smiles to match. My room was on the top floor of a separate building and unusually hot due to a heatwave but there was a fan to help with the heat. Overall a comfy stay regardless.
- Verified traveler (10/5): nice quiet relaxing hotel - we only stayed 2 nights but in the future would not hesitate to go back.
- nikolasgianno (6/5): Nice & Clean Hotel - As said on the title of my review the Watermolen hotel was both nice and clean. During my 6 day stay there I really enjoyed the cosy feeling of the room and the hospitality of the staff. On the other hand I believe that the breakfast was way below average and as a whole I found the prices (both of the hotel rooms and of the hotel bar) too high for what was offered.
- AVL390 (8/5): Great location - quiet and pieceful most of the time - Particularly liked the late opening hours of the swimming pool (till 22.00). There is ample parking space, the bar is open late (and has an enormous choice of Belgian beer). Breakfast is not spectacular - but adequate and of good quality.
Very helpful staff.
Some fancy options for a free afternoon/evening/weekend - bike rental, walking, mini-golf. And (trout) fishing. Restaurant is serving these without you having to catch them first (delicious).
The walls are not too thick ( and I had a noisy neighbor - American Skyper).
At times there are F16's overflying - like it or be aware - it did not keep me awake.
- linda (6/5): Lovely setting - Hotel needed to have tea making facilities in the rooms
- waltlewjr (8/5): Great Hotel - Stayed here for a couple night for work. It's places in a very nice residential location, and you get the nice scenery from both the hotel grounds and the surrounding neighborhoods. I liked seeing all of the locals eating and/or drinking at the hotel bar/restaurant. There aren't many good locations within walking distance from the hotel. So you will need a car, eat at the hotel, or go to the restaurant across from the church.
The room was a nice size, had two twin size beds. The room also has a balcony where you can go out and relax, although it's connected to all of the other rooms as well. The staff was so friendly and helpful, would definitely stay there again. Also, the shnitzel with her butter was excellent. And breakfast doesn't start until 7am
- Coachmj99 (8/5): Clean, comfortable and priced right! - I stayed at Hotel De Watermolen for a few nights recently, and was very happy with the room size, available activities and service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beer selection in the lobby is also terrific. While I did not have a chance for leisure activities, they have several stocked trout ponds, basketball and tennis courts and much more. This place would be great for families too. Overall, I was very satisfied with the large, clean and comfortable rooms.
- belgianvisit0r (6/5): Average. - Average hotel- not the 4 stars they claim to have, not bad either. Rooms are ok, service so-so / not very well organized. When you arrive at 12.30, they don't check but just tell you the room is not ready. 30 min later you get your key again without checking. Breakfast is queuing - tiny plate of bacon & eggs for a 50 room hotel needed a constant refill. Troubles with the coffee machine wasn't a big help either. Environment is nice, peaceful, lots of fun also for children & if you would like fishing.
- X6598DOstevel (8/5): In the area? Stay here then. - Great little venue, even in winter. Excellent base for visiting the area or just relaxing. This was my third visit and hope to stay here again. If you use the bar, ask for the local beer because it's BOGOF - Buy One Get One Free. Have not eaten in the restaurant but good reports from colleagues. Staff always helpful. House wine great value. Nice breakfasts.
- Z6425PWmarkb (8/5): Peaceful Setting with a Variety of Activities - Hotel De Watermolen is a wonderful choice if you wish to relax in a peaceful setting. There are an abundance of activities on site as well--fishing (numerous stocked ponds), miniature golf, tennis (within the fenced tennis area there are also soccer goals, basketball standards, and volleyball net), children's playground, bicycles, horse stable, fenced in area with deer, walking paths, bowling alley, and billiards.
Our triple room was large and spacious with three twin sized beds (I'm not sure if they have double or queen sized beds), a sitting area, desk with a flat screen TV, mini fridge, and private balcony. The good sized shower had plenty of hot water. Breakfast is included in the room rate and includes fresh fruit, yogurt, a variety of sliced meats, cheeses, and bread/rolls as well juice/water/coffee/tea. We needed to depart early (before breakfast) and they packed us a wonderful breakfast to go with yogurt, fresh fruit, and a couple roll sandwiches which we greatly appreciated.
De Watermolen has a huge area for eating which can easily accommodate multiple large groups. You can eat on the patio terrace adjacent to the playground or in the large or small dining room. They have a large bar area and additional dining area adjacent to the bowling alley and billiards tables where you can arrange to have a private BBQ and cook your own dinner. They have excellent soup--especially asparagus and tomato. I also recommend the trout (fresh onsite) with the garlic sauce.
- TheFrog59 (8/5): Family-run and family-friendly. - I have stayed several times for business, and the welcome is fine - plus the choice of Belgian beers on offer at the bar is very good.
This is not trying to be a luxury hotel but is honest, straightforward and good value. Rooms are very spacious.
For those interested in fishing, the hotel has many "lakes" and the outdoor facilities for children seem very good too. Quiet surroundings.
Family-owned and run, and very pleasant.
Special mention for the massive, intricate winter diorama in the entrance area - must delight children to see the moving figures, cable cars, trains etc. Well done to the Watermolen!
- YouAreHere_X (8/5): Nice Hotel - I've stayed here several times over the years. Clean rooms, friendly/helpful staff, and a nice restaurant/bar. The Belgian beer selection is worth mentioning.....for they have a large selection. If you need to stay in the area, this is a great choice.
- kinrooi (10/5): lovely peaceful location, well appointed - excellent facilities - I have stayed at this hotel on three occasions, both with family and solo. The kids loved the amenities swings, ten pin bowling, minigolf and snooker tables - when at the hotel they weren't bored. The adults enjoined the lovely tranquility, the great walks in the countryside surrounding the hotel If you wanted a drink and a stroll, the village bars are only 2 minutes walk away. 5 minutes drive gets you into the centre of Bree a great little town full of character. Germany is only 20 minutes drive away and Holland only ten muinutes away. The historic town ocf Maaseik is also only 10 minutes by car. Venlo, Eindhoven, Masstricht, Genk and Hasselt are all within very easy striking distance. The area is great for cycling, walking and fishing. Food at the hotel is very good, their steakls and mussells are delicious. When I visit family in the region I always use this hotel and have not disappointed. Oh and it has web access in the rooms.
- drross78 (10/5): Wonderful Hotel, Friendly Staff - I've have stayed at this hotel many times on business and pleasure and have always enjoyed my stays. The hotel is off the beaten path and is very quant with the original water wheel still in place. The hotel has an indoor pool, sauna, and exercise area; a playground outside for children and 11 fishing ponds on the property (the playground for adults I presume). If you don't have your fishing gear with you, the hotel has rods and reels plus fishing bait available. The hotel restaurant is wonderful with a variety of fish, game, and domestic meats on the menu. Diners have a choice of several sauces to pair with any of the meats which makes for a large selection of options. I will defintely stay there again on my next visit to the area.
