Guest Reviews
- Anyla (8/5): -
- Wilson (10/5): Birthday outing - I loved the bed it was so comfortable the location was great close to a lot of restaurants and shopping the room was spacious, cozy and very clean I hate we only spent one night we will definitely book again! The only thing was our room wasn't ready when we arrived we had to wait for about an hour before we could get settled in but still wasn't disappointed because we went to a restaurant close by while we waited
- Shields (1/5): - Nothing The beds had bug and the room were filthy
- Tiffany (8/5): -

- Vivian (9/5): We had a comfortable stay - Great location with plenty of shops and food options nearby. Beds were comfortable with good pillows. The room was quiet, clean and had plenty of room.
- Kristin (10/5): Enjoyed my stay - Worth every penny!
- Rich (6/5): Meh…. - It was average. I travel to Montgomery often. It’s been years since I stayed here. I don’t mind if a hotel is old. My biggest concern is always “is it clean”. That shouldn’t be something you have to pay extra for at any hotel. It wasn’t. Hair in the tub and all around the bathroom, shower curtain was molded, hand and face prints on glass and windows. At best I rate that s hotel average.
- vijaya (4/5): - Unfortunately had to swtich rooms twice.
1st room - door did not lock so anyone could have entered room without a key.
2nd room - TV had no signal. My take in dinner was cold by the time i was able to get into another room.
3rd room - thought everything would be ok... however sink drain did not work well at all.
Very disappointed in the rooms not being fully safe and functional. I've stayed here multiple times yet will not anymore.
Staff on duty was very responsive and kind. So not faulting them.
Marriott standards should be better. Very disappointed!!
- Brenda (10/5): I enjoy my stay - Everything
- David (10/5): -
- William (8/5): - Everything was great, especially the staff. If I had to make a recommendation, it would be to have ice machines available on each floor. I had to go to the lobby to get ice, which was not too much of a hassle, yet not very convenient.
- Georgetta (10/5): - Property was clean and easily accessible. Near banks, restaurants and shopping centers
- Carrie (8/5): - The people were very helpful and so nice.
- Marsha (6/5): The stay was okay, just need a little tidy ups. - Breakfast was okay, the potatoes, needs to be cooked.
They were hard and done The Pool needs to be cleaned did not get in it.
The TV kept going out in the middle of NBA playoff.in.
During checkin, we were greeted by a guest complaining about a housekeeping worker stealing out of his room after leaving to go to the store. When he returned he saw his bag on the housekeeper cart. He took it and came to the front desk to report it. It was terrible a d it wS not meant for us to here. Terrible we start to leave but no other places available nicely.
.
- Ellis (10/5): I would recommend hotel. - Everything was great. The room was super comfortable and the breakfast was great.
- Dream35830271093 (2/5): Glasses stolen from the room! - The cleaning wasn't good. The kitchen had a visible dust layer where you could see the "print" of the glasses. We also found a tooth pick under the air condition. Worst was though that we got a pair of glasses stolen from the room. It was reported to the hotel staff and three different mangers all told us they would start an investigation.
I left all my contact information for the managers there. After 4 days with nothing heard from the hotel, I called them and all they told us was to report it to our own insurance.
We are coming back to Montgomery in 2 weeks and we are definitely staying somewhere else!
- randy (2/5): - Checked into a room that had a chemichal smell coming from the a/c system, after 15 minutes my wife had a headache from the smell and had an allergic reaction, Lady at the desk was very helpful in trying to get us into another room, She showed us a total of three rooms all in same condition. Rooms were dirty, had pubic hair everywhere, we complained to the manager in the morning, He was very apologetic and helpful. Said that he would give a full refund, But his regional manager refused to give a full refund, Don't be fooled by the clean lobby .rooms are falling apart. Paid almost $300 . We did not sleep until about three hours after a check inn. We'll never stay here again and do not recommend to anyone who appreciates cleanliness.
- Othman (10/5): - Good location
Clean facility
Friendly staff
- Othman (10/5): - Great area and hotel
- Jessica (10/5): - Checking in wasn't pleasant I was made to swipe my card after having paid online I had a balance of several dollars which lady charged me for twice then another 20 for security which is stupid since the hotel was nearly 300$
- Cedric (10/5): Stay - Breakfast was cool There was no fruits or donuts or muffins
- alicia (2/5): Not a great experience - No a/c the first night. They moved me to a second room and it was dirty, had a feminine pad on the floor, tub was dirty.
- Timothy (10/5): - Very clean and quiet hotel. Close to shopping and restaurants all walkable.
- Hope (7/5): Good -
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kim (10/5): - Great
- Jennifer (2/5): - I was charged an undisclosed pet fee. No one at the hotel even mentioned it. It showed up on my bill days later.
- Curtis (9/5): Superb -
- Lydia (10/5): - Hot shower
- CruiseTim (4/5): Pass this hotel by... - Town Place Suites is always our first choice in the Marriott hotel chain but I would pass this one by. Although the bed was comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom floors were both tacky to walk on like they used tge wrong kind of floor polish.
In the morning I went down to get a cup of juice but the breakfast area wasn't open yet, at 7:20 am. Ar check-in I was told breakfast was from 7-10 am. My wife and I then went down at 7:50 am and the breakfast area was still closed tight. I asked the person at the front desk and her response. "I guess no one's coming in." I asked that's it? You didn't call when they didn't show up? She had no response.
- Grady E (10/5): Passing thru - Really nice facility. Safe surroundings. Quiet and convenient.
- Kim (10/5): - Everyone was absolutely wonderful! Will come back again.
- Debra (9/5): Excellent - Good. Nothing, met all expectations
- Larry (7/5): Good -
- Terry (10/5): - Fast easy checkin, lovely room.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mcrae (7/5): Amazing stay - Staff was great Construction going on
- David (6/5): It was clean. Convenient location. Bed sucked. - Breakfast was ok. Typical. The bed was hard as a rock. I like a firm bed but this was like sleeping on the floor. Traveled with husband and adult son and none of us slept well.
- Suzanna (4/5): Disappointing - Upon my arrival, I was able to check in early. the front desk staff was very helpful and courtesy. The second day, stay the room wasn't clean, the sheets were soiled, and housekeeping chose not to change them. She made up the bed with the same soiled sheets. The bathroom shower wasn't clean , and bathroom trash wasn't thrown away. Housekeeping didn't supply any fresh towels at all. absolutely disgusting. 😒
- Natalie (8/5): - There were stains on one of the bed’s top bedding and chair(large stain on foot rest). The shower curtain had mold/mildew on it. I would have switched rooms but we were only there for one night. Overall the property was nice. I would stay there again but I wouldn’t settle for a room in that condition again.
- Edna (9/5): Check in was delayed but they got us a room as soon as they could've. Overall it was great.. - The staff was very friendly How the manager questioned the cook about why he cooked too much of something, when there were still people coming down for breakfast. He removed what he had cooked too much of and took it to the kitchen...
- Terrance (1/5): We like the place but our room got canceled due to overbooking - Clean My room was overbooked
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trey (4/5): - The staff was nice and check-in was smooth but tv didn't work properly and check out was terribly slow.
- Gloria M (6/5): Not worth the money - Staff was friendly; however the room was too small for all the furniture that was cramped into it. The breakfast was less than average and the room had an odor of vapor smoke!
- Lakeita (8/5): Awesome space to reside overnight. - Cleanliness and Location Nothing I can think of at the moment
- arlene (10/5): - The Friendliness of the staff was next level!
- Kristina (4/5): Disappointing - Great location and lobby smelled very pleasant! In the process of remodeling. Our room had lots of holes in the walls, burnt lights and was not very clean. Ice machine was out of order. Too much mess for the high rate. I was disappointed.
- William (6/5): - No ice machine except on the first floor. Towels were very cheap and no soap or body wash in bathroom. Don’t recommend this hotel especially at $200/nt.
- Jeanine (9/5): Superb -
- 331carmels (10/5): Great experience!! - I love this hotel! Front desk staff were very nice and professional. The lady that checked me in was very helpful. Even tho I was early, she was able to get me in. The staff was great and the breakfast was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends. I plan on coming back for the holidays!!
- Charlotte (10/5): - We stayed here for a short weekend visit. It was comfortable, clean, and quiet. We enjoyed the pool.
- Athena (10/5): - We enjoyed a week of royalty during our stay…
- Eury (4/5): Way expensive for what you get. - Size of room was good NOT A RESTAURANT. They have a serve yourself breakfast of microwaved eggs and meat and you serve cereals and over ripe bananas. For the price it was way underwhelming. The shower leaked on to the floor.. not user error. Staff said there was an ice maker on the floor, when I informed her there was not, " we are doing renovations, maybe they took it out." When I asked for an ice bucket to get ice on the main floor , " we don't have any" . Ice bucket is a staple for any hotel and an ice machine is as well.
- Lori (4/5): - I booked 5 rooms for a Civil Rights Trip. When we arrived, Marriott had given our rooms away the night before we arrived and sent us to Holiday Inn Express. We drove to Holiday Inn Express and they said they were booked so we went back to TownPlace and told them our 5 rooms were booked and paid for and they needed to figure it out. The lady at the front desk could not have been nicer, nor apologetic or helpful, she was great. We arrived at 8:00pm and we got into our rooms after midnight. They were filthy. Clothing tags on the floor from the prior guest, crumbs on chairs, counters and tables.
- Lynn (2/5): - My daughter and her baby actually got locked into a room when the door wouldn’t open from the inside or out! We were moved to our 3rd room -
#1 no air conditioning
#2 door issue with lock
I tried to meet with Mary the manager the ext day but the staff said she hadn’t come in yet and later that day that she would contact me
Also checked the next morning with the front desk. She text me after a poor review was left, throwing her staff under the bus by saying they hadn’t given her any information.
What’s the story here?
- Kay (10/5): I loved my stay! - The location was perfect. Right in the mix of everything! The room was amazing! The lighting in the tv wasn’t bright enough but other than that, it was amazing
- Franklin (2/5): Won’t go back. - Great location and staff My room was downgraded from a suite to a weekly rate room
- Diane (10/5): - Shopping and many eatiers in walking distance. Location and hotel was great.
- Ginger (3/5): Midnight fire alarm - Upon arrival the front office staff could not find our booking. The. Confirmation number she said wasn't one of their numbers. After several attempts it was located and was under my first name as My last name. She was very friendly and i have no problem with how she handled the situation. The bathroom had holes in the baseboard of shower on both sides and it was not clean. You could hear everything in other rooms and people walking on the floor above. There were no ice machines except in lobby. The worse was at midnight the fire alarm went off with a strobe light flashing from the alarm in our room....scared us so bad....I opened my door and the whole hall alarms were going off. I called front desk and they laughed and Said oh it's a false alarm we are trying to figure out how to turn it off. It took 20 to 30 minutes for them to figure that out . Didn't go back to sleep til 3 am. We only stayed one night and will not do that again.
- JohnTLH (2/5): Towneplace Suites Montgomery AL - Room was very humid. Air conditioner did not cycle correctly and bathroom fan was out of surface. Very uncomfortable night spent. Hotel was full so we could not be moved. Breakfast was basic Towneplace Suites stuff, nothing extra. Not sure I would stay there again.
- 925lovemydogs (2/5): FALSE FIRE ALARM - Bathroom was old molded and had hole in bottom of wall at base of shower. Had not been cleaned well at all. The bed was comfortable that's about the highlight of our night staying there. At about midnight the fire alarm went off and there was a flashing light in our room that ranked right up there with a strobe light. Called front desk and was informed it's a false alarm and they were trying to figure out how to cut it off. 30 minutes later finally stopped sooooo not much sleep after that. Also you can hear everyone walking on the floor above you. Walls are not sound proof. Wouldn't recommend this property.
- ADRIAN (6/5): - I’ve been here a few times dropping through Montgomery. The hotel especially being a Brand Name Hotel needs a good cleaning from walls throughout. I had an eye lash in my pillow and we had a dirty stain towel with low water pressure. But the staff was pleasant and professional. The Breakfast eggs were nice.
- Gerica (1/5): Very upset I got charged twice for my stay and still haven’t been refunded. - The stay That I got charged twice for my room and as of today I have not received a refund even after talking to corporate about my issue.
- William (10/5): Great place - Great location. Spotless hotel Extremly clean smell Nothing
- megmU7385PM (2/5): LOCK FREE FILTHY ROOMS WITH ABUSIVE STAFF! PAY FOR THE PRIVILEGE! - FILTHY! RUDE! ABUSIVE TO ELDERLY/DISABLED! Now that I have your attention...
I have been a professional/business traveler for 50+ years and never before was I able to write "WASH ME" on the top of the refrigerator...
Front Desk personnel were rude and irritated I asked them to remedy the room.
Coup de Grace: THE LOCK ON THE DOOR DID NOT FUNCTION AT ALL AND PEEP HOLE WAS BLOCKED OUT SO YOU COULD NOT SEE, but I guess as an intruder, burglar or rapist could just walk in it really didn't matter...one of the many responses from so called "management"
We are two elderly disabled people with a service animal and we didn't discover the door didn't lock until 11 pm and we were told to leave and "we will be happy not to charge you" WOW!
Our service dog was choking on something and I rescued her by pulling a wad of thick black human hair (I hope) out of her throat! We each have gray hair!
The attitude of every employee was "WE SUGGEST YOU GO AND ENGAGE IN SELF FORNICATION!" All this for top dollar...
WHEN IS MARRIOTT GOING TO HOLD SOMEONE ACCOUNTABLE AS THE OTHER GUESTS INFORM ME THEY HAD SIMILAR CLEANLINESS ISSUES...TV's which didn't work and rooms not ready at 8 pm...DON'T STAY HERE
- Davis (1/5): Very uncomfortable - It was bad It was very dirty from the bedroom to the kitchen. Bathroom was very nasty
- Philip (3/5): Poor - tried to get a room on May 2, 2024 around 3:30 pm. Was told hotel was sold out. Went into the parking lot and booked a room through Booking.com. Went back in and was offered a choice of rooms on all three floors! Obviously not sold out.
I also paid $11.00 more than advertised on MArriott rates.
The same thing happened on return trip May 11. Did not reserve room because I didn't know when or if I would stop in Montgomery on return trip. I inquired about why the lot was empty but they were sold out. The poor receptionist was powerless to do anything as they could not change whatever computer protocols were in place. One I told them, again, that I was Bonvoy member they struggled with the system until I was offered a large suite at much higher price.
Next morning, asked manager to explain and she treated us as if we were a nuisance, gave us no explanation, and said we just wouldn't understand because we are not in the industry. This complaint needs to get to the Marriott corporate or whomever owns/operates this property.
Thank you.
- Demetris (10/5): Right at home - The room was dope, real player like N/A
- Eunjung (1/5): Bad - the facilities are dirty and not clean That was good location.but not dirty capet and smell some weired.
- STACY-ANNE (4/5): - Bathrooms are nasty with rust stains, refrigerator has nasty rust all over the doors…not sure how this can even happen. The beds are uncomfortable. The pillows are so flat they feel like it’s from the dollar tree. Room doesn’t feel clean at all.
- Frank (7/5): Not the Marriott your used to. - I love that it was centrally located and surrounded by many restaurants. And access to the interstate was very easy. Well, what I didn't like was how the frig looked dirty with that stainless steel. We first thought it was dirty, but after cleaning it ourselves, we found that it was rust that we were looking at. And the first room we were assigned to have a terrible smell, the phone didn't work, and the TV didn't either. The second room was allot better, but it didn't have a lock on the inside to lock the door when we were asleep. But Justin at the front desk, did an excellent job doing what he could to make our stay better.
- Daniel (5/5): Passable -
- MERCEDES (4/5): - Upon checking in noticed a problem with the HVAC. Spoke to clerk, in lieu of repairing it offered another room. After bringing in all our luggage didnt want to relocate. We tried to deal with it but ultimately had to switch due to the unbearable consitions. It would have been more convenient if they wouldve repaired the HVAC to our room
- brady D. (10/5): - Great property with great staff especially lady that handles the breakfast every morning and the facility maintenance men that service outside.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - We were a late arrival at the property and the room we had booked was not available. We were given an upgrade at no additional cost.
Great breakfast and very helpful staff in attendance. Would definitely stay again.
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): - it was a nice place and convenient to get around Montgomery
- Lauretta (10/5): Exceptional - Convenience to shopping Price a little high compared to others in area
- Mcneil (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): very convenient location for travel - Great location next to a huge shopping centre. Laundry facilities were really good. Rooms were clean and tidy, but not fantastic
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Dionne (8/5): Very good -
- Ammo-mom (8/5): Recommend, but needs improvement. - Okay so Heather the breakfast attendant is a shining example of an excellent employee. She greeted us each morning during our stay like we were family and had the breakfast area running like a well oiled machine. Not only does she have items eggs, sausage, oatmeal, bagels and waffle items stocked, she also comes by to see if you need anything and picks up your table items when you are done 10/10.
Now, the house keeping is another story. It appears they are doing the bare minimum to get by. We had to have mold cleaned and removed from bathroom. Had to request sheets, towels and toilet paper refreshed. Dust on chairs and entertainment area. House keeping needs to become a priority at this location. There are other reviewers on this subject.
Location is in a great area, can walk to restaurants and plenty to do in the area.
The fire pit area is nice, but not lit during our stay. There is outdoor seating, but no cushions, possibly due to spring time and pollen.
- Cassie (10/5): - Everyone was awesome and welcoming!
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamara (10/5): Location is convenient to everything - Location N/A
- Marie (10/5): - Everything was great
- Larry (10/5): Easy. - Cleanliness Nothing
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kadasia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Quenethia (10/5): - Very clean and friendly service
- Lasonyia (7/5): Everything was good for the most part it was a couple things that need to be working on over all it was a good stay - I liked the location We had to switch rooms because our shower door wouldn’t closed and our tv was working off and on
- Rosa (10/5): - Great Stay!! Everything was very clean.. The staff was very professionally
- Farrah (5/5): Passable - The friendly customer service from the young lady who checked us in. Room floor was dirty, we requested clean towels directly from a floor supervisor to not get any. The iron and keriug didn't work.
