Guest Reviews
- Augustine (10/5): - We were upgraded and we really enjoyed our stay. The Gym, the swimming pool, the food. Everything was awesome. My only suggestion is to do a buffet breakfast
- Ronnie (6/5): - I liked that it had a bar and teh kitchen was open all day. I did not like the WIFI. And some staff were not very helpful.
- victoria (9/5): fabulous - EVERYTHING, they let me check in early nothing
- Steven (10/5): Wonderful family stay - The communications with the hotel was excellent. When I had a last minute change in my flight, they accommodated the early arrival and made changes with the airport transfer.
The food is great. There's a good variety on the menu and very kid friendly.
The rooms were super comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was great! Very easy check-in and check-out. Not much to be honest. If i had to say something, the showerhead mount is fixed so you can't angle the showerhead down. When you're a messy showerer, water goes everywhere! My kids managed fine however.

- Albrecht (9/5): Ruhige Unterkunft mit Aussicht auf Mt Meru - Gute Lage mit Blick auf den Mt Meru. Sehr großes Zimmer. Ruhige, zentrumsnahe Lage mit großem Grundstück. Personal freundlich.

- Alexander (8/5): Lovely hotel with gorgeous staff in the heart of Arusha - Boulevard Inn is truly an absolute gem of a hotel to stay at both for work and leisure. At its heart it has the loveliest staff, such as Dina & Nusura to name a few, and all the front of house! They were also super lenient when there were some issues with our payment method after we had left. Secondly the view of Mount Meru is spectacular, with a lovely bar, dining area (with huge & cheap meal portions) & decorative main house where you have breakfast. The rooms do vary in size and comfortability, but overall it's a glorious place to stay. Miss it! The pool area could maybe made a little bit improved in terms of comfortability and services as feels rather an afterthought compared to the rest of the hotel compound. Also several items of clothing got displaced when I got a wash done, the most important ones I did eventually get returned to me luckily.
- antoine (8/5): - Excellent breakfast. There is also a fantastic view. First night was in a less nice room behind reception.
.
- ITAKURA (9/5): I enjoyed a high value for money. Room equipment was good such as hot water, bed lights, and TV - I appreciated complimentary service for laundry.
- Benedetta (10/5): -
- Broughton (10/5): Amazing staff great view of Mt Meru good bar room was nice and big and bright. Breakfast had plenty to choice. Easy to g - Everything Nothing
Store rom, god seng, god pris.
- Brandon (8/5): Great place, great staff. - Boulevard inn Mr Meru is a gated property just a 30min walking distance from town. It is quiet, safe, clean, and the staff were lovely. The rooms have AC that works. The breakfast is quite good as well! Overall a great value for price.
I had 5hr flight delay and the staff were around to communicate and waited for me until 3am.
- Jack (9/5): - The food was good, for breakfast and at the restaurant. Pool area was small but usable.
- victoria (6/5): fine - i liked the location and their beer garden i am a repeat guest so i have stayed at this property several times, i however didnt like it that to get anything for breakfast you have to repeatedly inform the staff the basic stuff also breakfast should be improved, lastly on our last day ( we stayed for 4 nights during christmas ) we had to leave very early around 4am and found the front door locked ! when the door was open we were informed a little detail that is crucial but left out ( we do have a front door key in our room keys ) i wasnt happy because we needed to catch a morning flight out of Kilimanjaro airport and had to speed to get there, so inshort this is the only time am giving you guys a 6 having stayed here several times, improve breakfast and inform guests on usage of keys
- Stella (8/5): Very nice place and good value for money - Cozy environment, friendly staff, very nice food They could use new towels
- Ayan (10/5): It is one of those places where you come back again and again - Clean, quiet and very green Nothing
- Tiina (9/5): - The breakfast is good and the staff very nice. I like the relax surroundings and cosy atmosphere. Some evenings the bar can be a bit noisy but the management has tried to control it.
- Ali (9/5): -
Meru. Personal sehr zuvorkommend -
- C Barnes-Covenant (10/5): - The location is close enough to town to get where you need to go, but outside enough to have a nice quieter garden. The location on a hill also helps take it out if the city a little bit.
The staff were exceptional. In trying times they were incredibly accommodating and also knew just what we needed.
The restaurant is fantastic, especially for the prices and have a very large number of vegan and vegetarian options, which is pretty rare for the areas.
Honestly, I couldn't imagine a better deal for your money than the Boulevard Inn.
- C Barnes-Covenant (10/5): - I had stayed here previous and love this spot. Highly recommended for anybody who is coming to the area for a short or long stay.
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Elodie (10/5): - Chambres spacieuses, propres
Merveilleuse vue sur le Mont Meru.
Petite piscine pour les enfants
Repas délicieux Ras bravo
- Oz (8/5): -

- Thomas (10/5): - nice area / beer garden downstairs
- Rico (10/5): Heel fijne plek om reis in Tanzania te starten - Enorm ruime, schone kamers, fijne bedden, erg vriendelijke ontvangst
Tutto fantastico!

- Roos van Ede (10/5): Lovely accommodation with great staff, would recommend this to others. - We arrived in the evening and we were leaving in the morning for an early flight. They booked our airport transfer for us. As we were leaving before breakfast, they offered to make us to-go boxes for breakfast that we brought to the airport with us, and they even fully accommodated our diets. I was very impressed by the staff and service, and the room was comfortable too. Nothing negative to say, really. Comfortable stay, well worth the price.
- Geraldine (9/5): Would recommend! - Lovely friendly staff. Great breakfast in the morning and very good food in the restaurant in the evening. Very spacious and comfortable bedroom with a view of Mount Meru. About a 35 minute walk to town but can hop on the local ‘dala dala’ bus at the road either. Would definitely stay here again!
- Pankaj (5/5): Was here for just 15 hours or so to spend night for flight out next day. Could have chosen a better. - Passable breakfast.
What view?
Meh room The rooms are too small, even for 2 people, I felt.
This place has a restaurant run/owned by the same people who run the Hotel, and it gets very noisy after 9pm or so. We had no option but to have dinner at their 'Beer Garden'. The staff running the hotel and waiting at the restaurant, both are the same and very limited. I felt bad for them running around to serve people, which lead to our basic food order not coming in for over 70 mins, and when it came, it was cold, excessively salty, and very passable.
- Amund (7/5): Nice but slow and no lock - Nice view and nice place Ridicilously slow serving at the restaurant and no lock on the room door!
- tieu (9/5): Arranging staff! Great view from the pool -
- Sachi (10/5): - This review follows a separate booking issue we encountered. We had reserved five rooms, and upon arrival, we were asked to pay an additional US$10 per person for breakfast, despite the property listing stating that breakfast was included for all rooms.
The next day, the hotel manager spoke with us directly, explained the miscommunication with Expedia, and offered a solution. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Overall, it’s a reliable and trustworthy property that we would consider again.
- Sachi (4/5): - We booked this property through Expedia, where it was clearly stated that all rooms include breakfast. However, when we arrived, the staff told us we had to pay an additional US$10 per person for breakfast because our room supposedly didn’t include it.
Our quad room only cost $60 total, so adding $40 more just for breakfast is unreasonable and misleading. This feels like a scam.
They even admitted that they were aware of this issue with Expedia listings but never informed us in advance.
The room we received had a strong, unpleasant smell, and the noise from loud music outside continued until midnight, making it very hard to sleep.
- Kosgey (7/5): Good -
- Victoria (6/5): Okay - Proximity to the town Service a bit slow and issues of flexibility
- Krenzer (8/5): Woukd definitely visit again! - Staff were excellent and so accommodating!
The room was clean and comfortable . Only thing for possible improvement is breakfast.
Would have been lovely to have local dishes on the menu and the menu description did not accurately describe the meals that arrived for breakfast.
- Pien (9/5): Superb -
- Jeff (7/5): Good - Like a little compound with several buildings and a Bar/Restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not in a touristy area so not much else nearby. I wish the property had their own driver/shuttle as outsourcing that to a recommended driver to go to the supermarket in town did not go well (got overcharged and I had to get the staff involved to resolve the issue which is the last thing I want to do when on vacation (but the staff did help resolve the issue)). While the bar/restaurant was lively (loud) when I went in for dinner, making for a nice vibe, it remained lively well past the time I wanted to go to bed.
- Kamal (10/5): A comfortable and pleasant stay with great views and helpful staff. - I stayed at this hotel for one night with my family. The rooms were very spacious. The location of the hotel was excellent, and we had a clear view of Mt. Meru from the balcony. The food was also good, and the staff were helpful and polite.
- Janice (8/5): Great place, worth the price! - Nice location, clean and spacious rooms. Staff is kind and responsive. A little out of the way when arriving by car.
- Clayton (9/5): Superb -
- Jacek (10/5): Highly recommended for budget travellers. - Good vibe. Friendly and efficient staff. Location. Good restaurant. Incredible value for money. Nothing really. Perhaps burgers (meat) need some more attention.
- Sojin (10/5): Exceptional - Mount Meru View from the room is worth it all. Welcoming and friendly staff, spacious room, cleanliness, everything was good here. I would definitely come back here if i get a chance, also recommend this place to my friends and family. Nothing that we didn’t like. May be if i have to point out something it would be the food. As everything is cooked fresh, it will take 30-40 mins (we ordered for two). So plan accordingly. Do not wait until you are really hungry.
- Hanna (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was good with a nice, varied menu for lunch and dinner. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The shower was a bit too high for someone under 5’3 and splashed water everywhere. It was also hard to get a hold of staff in the reception and indoor restaurant area.
- Mark (9/5): Absolutely bloody marvellous - Great location, good food. A proper sports bar on premises, quite extraordinary for Africa.
The road up to it was poor, all else fantastic
- Rufus (5/5): Below expectation - staff were warm Location and confusion with Mt Meru Hotel
- Yvonne (6/5): Pleasant -
- Edna (9/5): Superb -
- Yara (7/5): Decent stay in Arusha - Room is spacious and designed very nicely. Breakfast was nice, they even packed us the breakfast for the last day since we leave early laundry service is for free and they did a great job. Evening staff is exceptional, very helpful and nice. The first evening we arrived there was no hot water, but the amazing Hilda was able to get an electrician to fix it, the second day there was no water at all, and they told us they were filling the water in the tank and it will be done in 10 minutes, we didn’t have water for more than an hour and then it was just dripping, it would have been nice if they were upfront that theres no water for some time, we would have adjusted our plans accordingly.
Room cleaning was not the best as well and could be better.
- Volker (10/5): A top recommendation for a stay in Arusha - see my other review - This place is an absolute recommendation, I stayed there and then extended my stay for two more days as I couldn't have been happier - see my previous review.
- Volker (10/5): I loved this place and would come to Arusha again just to enjoy Boulevard Inn some more - Everything was great about this place. The room was very spacious with a choice of king size, queen size and single bed, the water pressure was very good, there was a safe and a nice seating area in front of the room with a lovely view of mount Meru. Going to town meant walking down the hill for five minutes and then stopping a dala dala or a bajaj or motorcycle (I don't recommend, especially during night time). The manager was such a friendly and helpful person, I loved her. The other staff was very nice, too, including the guard down at the entrance. There is a Beer garden with good food and drinks, any noise is hardly heard up where I stayed. Internet was fast and reliable. A place absolutely recommended.
- Victoria (8/5): good - the bed was comfortable the shower was cold and hair in the bathroom
- Kisamo (9/5): Superb -
- Shahrukh (9/5): Excellent - Nice large rooms, a good breakfast, staff even prepared us a packed breakfast for when we were going on safari
- Victoria (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (8/5): Very good - The view of Mount Meru is amazing from the newer section. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and the food was good. They gave someone else the room that I paid for with a balcony and a view of the mountain. I was VERY upset about this as I spend alot of time researching stays with the best views. If it weren't for this I would have given them a higher score and a lower score had they not tried to make up for it.
- Maria (8/5): Very good - Beautiful views of Mt Meru from the newer section. Comfortable and clean rooms. Staff was nice, food and location was good. Very upset that they gave away the room I paid for with a balcony and view of the mountain. I would have given them a higher score if not for that, and a lower score had they not tried to make up for it.
- Arda (8/5): Good location but needs some care - Good view unfortunately we arrived late the cook was careful when preparing gluten free breakfast as I am celiac. In the room there were lots of coffee cream sugar but no coffee. The same for tea there was no black tea but slot of herbal and green tea.
- Victoria (9/5): Excellent beer garden - Great beds very comfy Nothing
- Emvula (5/5): Passable - NA It is not what I expected, the standard is low compared to the price, rooms should be improved and essentials shone provided
- Wycliffe (8/5): Very good - Ambience & peaceful environment Access road in bad condition
- Mary (9/5): The place is quiet and homely - Cleanliness
- Charity (10/5): Exceptional -
- Boyani (8/5): Very good - View was perfect, room was good, breakfast was good but limited options
- Sharon (7/5): Good -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - The beer garden and restaurant are convenient the food was good. Location is only suitable if you have a car.
- Patrick (10/5): - Cool place with great view
- Artea (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms were big and clean, staff was very friendly and everything was nice and clean. It is a bit further out from the city so you would need a taxi but never a big issue just to bear in mind if you like to have things in walking distance
- Olckers (8/5): Very good -
- Frida (9/5): Superb - The food was amazing, and the portions were big enough.
- Edna (8/5): The stay was good with excellent staff and service. Very peaceful. The only reason I rate the stay as good and not excep - The property was clean and well maintained I was not fully happy about the padlock lock on the outside but that's a minor concern
- Ha (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): Good value for money, with a nice bar/restaraunt. - Large comfortable family room, nice hot showers and comfortable beds. Breakfast was great. Great value for money! Given the hotel has a beer garden as well, it was a touch noisy late into the night.
The ceiling fans were very noisy and unbalanced.
- Maria (7/5): Lovely place with very comfortable beds and fab staff - Location, staff, beds, breakfast. Towels. Very small. Sometimes they forgot to add.
Small details.
Coffee very watery.needed stronger one in the morning
In one of the rooms the shower was pretty bad with just few drops of water.
A couple of night was hard to sleep cause of noise.
- Samuel (9/5): Superb - We got the new rooms at the top, next to the swimming pool. The family room 24. We were a bit worried about the beer-garden and bar that is on the same property, but due to the location furthest away from the bar we had no issues with the noise and UEFA football matches that were shown on the screens.
The rooms were modern with ceiling fan, AC, nice bathroom and comfy beds. The pool is great for kids as its not too deep.
The breakfast was great, really good coffee, great mix of buffet and à la carte breakfast.
Great views, great location on Themi Hill, abd close to Njiro where you can find everything you need, and avoid traffic downtown.
The staff were super child friendly and very accommodating. We even extended our stay! The locking system at the new rooms needs improvement, as its not really trustable (just a padlock with latches screwed into the sliding doors). We didn't feel unsafe (the compound is enclosed, has security and a Watchman on guard at all time), but this seems to be a makeshift solution.
Also note there are no mozzie nets. The hotel provides mosquito spray, but the fumes are not great to breathe in. We often forgot to spray the room well before going to bed, so we definitely experienced mosquitos inside.
- Maria (9/5): Great location, exvellent beds, amazing breakfast - Beds, breakfast, garden, staff.
- Ahmad (10/5): Exceptional -
