- Alisha (9/5): - We arrived at the airport at 2am (our flight was delayed), and the staff at Montecristo Inn were able to pick us up in the shuttle despite the late hour. They also were kind enough to drop us to a local food shop the next day. The staff were very hospitable and went out of their way to help us during our stay.

- Diane (1/5): Do not book here unless you are able to get through to a live person. - They do not respond to phone calls. I requested a pickup from the airport since they supposedly offered a free shuttle service. I tried to confirm, and left multiple messages with no response. There was no pickup. A friend had to be called for the pickup, went to Monticristo and the place was vacant with no one around and the gate was closed. Someone showed up and said they would explain, but we had no confidence in the place anymore and left and went to a different hotel nearby that had proper service. Nothing
- Michael (8/5): Almost Excellent - It was the best value for the location this time of year leading up to carnival. Everything went smoothly and I was pleased with my stay. I couldn't give it an excellent score for three reasons; 1) mosquitoes in the room every night, even though the windows were closed, 2) dusty under the bed, and 3) difficult to catch rides nearby. Other than that, I was very comfortable and happy.
- SACHIN (2/5): - The property is advertising a free shuttle, breakfast included and WiFi. However, there was no shuttle, there was no breakfast available. Moreover, the entire property was vacant and the caretaker - the so-called manager - came after guests arrived at the property with their own paid taxi. The taxi driver called the owner and the manager to find out where are they????? This property MUST be removed from Expedia immediately. WE WOULD LIKE THE MONEY REFUNDED. THE PLACE IS NOT WORTH AT ALL.
- Jeremy (9/5): Fantastic hotel near Piarco airport - We had an extremely warm welcome from Reba and Chris who are a charming couple. Chris even gave us a lift to the food shop when we arrived. Check in and payment were straightforward, the rooms were clean and comfortable with a fridge in each and ice cold Aircon. The roof terrace was great for sitting in the sun or shade (four covered areas had been added since our last visit). Reba drove us to the airport when we were ready to catch our flight the next day which was very useful. We would highly recommend this boutique hotel We could have done with some bread/butter/jam and a toaster for breakfast although tea and coffee making facilities were available

- Andrew (5/5): Okay facility but it was eerily devoid of guests or staff. - The room was nice, though there was a continuous line of ants cruising the windowsill over the bed, which would not close all the way. AC worked well. Internet was good. There was no staff there. Had to make multiple calls to be let into the gate and checked in. A nice young man showed up after about a half hour of phone calls, he got us checked in and then he left. There were no other guests in the hotel and not a single member of the staff all night long. It was kind of creepy in a post-apocalyptic sort of way.

They said it had "just closed" and was temporary. It looked like it had not been used in a VERY long time. The rooftop lounge was just an outdoor seating area. There were no services up there. It should be advertised as rooftop seating and NOT a lounge that served beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The website is incorrect.

Very quiet location so we were able to get a good night sleep before our early morning flight. Room was super clean and AC worked well. Bed was very comfortable. Great wifi. There is a microwave, toaster and kettle in the downstairs coffee area that you can use. Since it was dark outside and there was no restaurant the host offered to drive us to do a pickup at a nearby KFC - thank you. During the daytime you could walk to the nearby food huts or KFC.

- Steven (9/5): Beautiful - The hotel was spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, staff were friendly & knowledgeable. The roof top terrace is beautiful - providing shade or sun, with a great view of mountains and sunsets. There isn't really any public transport, so remember to budget for private taxis. The owner arranged this for us and we managed to see a lot of the island highlights, thanks to our great driver.

The advertised free breakfast was not provided perhaps not surprising as I was the only guest there. The manager was very helpful in setting up a sightseeing tour for me.

- Erie (10/5): lovely clean boutique guest house - It is family owned and run, not a chain. it was a great location, 5 minutes to the airport. It was incredibly clean, shuttle service was great and the manager/ son of the owner was so helpful. Some of the amenities, like the restaurant were closed but he bought beer for us, ordered our pizza for us and opened the dining area so we could eat at the tables. He was very welcoming and accommodating. The view from the roof deck patio was also very nice. Liked everything

- Michael (1/5): Would have been better sleeping at the airport...and far less costly! - Close to airport, free shuttle, nice rooms What a disaster! At 2:45AM guests in 3 different rooms start yelling and talking loudly while blasting music. At 3:30 we had enough and called the manager of the Inn and she came to tell them "they were disturbing other guests." They turned off their music, but continued slamming doors, yelling as if they were outside while listening to the TV at really loud volumes. Manager did nothing to ensure quiet was returned. We didn't get back to sleep and we left for the airport at 6:00AM. When we left for the airport in the morning, we discussed the issue of the previous night and how she essentially did nothing. She made the statement that "I am not responsible for the behaviour of the guests." Really? I've never heard of a hotel allowing a couple of people to completely disrupt and destroy everyone else's stay. She took no responsibility for ensuring a pleasant stay for others in the hotel. Be warned that if there are issues or any bad apples while staying there, the management will do nothing to help you. We have traveled frequently and you can check my past reviews. I almost never complain and can't remember the last bad review I gave, but this one was too much. We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport to allow us to have a decent night's sleep as we had an overnight layover, but would never stay there again due to management's complete lack of responsibility to ensure the welfare for ALL of their guests!

However on the second day of our stay, we had to make our own breakfast at after 08:00 as there were o one on site! We were told on arrival that breakfast will be from 07:00 to 09:30! I would recommend placing two small chairs on the balcony for the guests. Overall the hotel is clean, breakfast is ok but the location is a bit remote if one does not have a car.

- Jeremy (10/5): Fantastic boutique hotel in Piarco - Large comfortable rooms (one with a fridge which was very useful), fantastic sun terrace at the top of the building where we spent most of our time, convenient location close to the airport and a short walk to a fantastic new Food Mall with eat-in facilities. Finally Reba the owner was very genuine and friendly and even let us stay a little longer as we had an evening flight. I would highly recommend this lovely and stylish property which we thought was very good value for money Nothing to say other than perhaps a suggestion: leave a loaf of bread for toast or sandwiches at the tea/coffee station?

- Sasha (10/5): - This property is a gem. It has been a while since I've been so impressed by a hotel. First of all, arranging for airport pick up was as simple and convenient as it could possibly be. Upon arrival, I was struck by the thoughtfully and comfortably appointed interior. The property is clean as a whistle and neat as a pin! It is spacious, with a very nice rooftop area, and a large dining area, also pleasantly decorated. My room was quiet, and I enjoyed a very peaceful stay.

She ensured that I had reliable transportation to move around. Very friendly lady, yet professional. I really admired the cleanliness of the room and the entire hotel. I felt so comfortable, that I could walk barefoot even in the shower, something I don't usually do. The towels so white, soft and fluffy. I recommend Montecristo Inn and woold definitely stay there if I make a next visit.

It is less than a 5 minute ride to the Airport and our 4 am departure from the hotel was anxiety free and included in hotel services! We were very impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness! The inn is also very modern and well appointed.

- Colin (8/5): Clean, affordable, and great service - I stayed at the Montecristo for one night because of its affordable rate and location very close to the airport as my flight was getting in after midnight. Reba contacted me ahead of time to coordinate a pick up for the free shuttle service from the airport, which was a nice touch. I was even more impressed when my flight was delayed by 3 plus hours, and they still had a shuttle service available. I was picked up quickly from the airport at 4:15am, and the cab driver even asked if I wanted to stop and get some 'doubles' (delicious) before heading to bed. The doubles stand had closed, but then he ensured there were doubles available for breakfast the next day. The bed was comfortable enough, and the features in the room are a bit dated, but not a big issue for me. Shower pressure and temperature were great and the room was clean. Aside from the doubles, the rest of the breakfast is a big lacking, but I wasn't expecting much. All in all I would stay here again as it's great if you are arriving late and want a place close to the airport to get good night's sleep.

The owners Chris and Reba offered to pick us up at the airport but we had a rental car so didn't need the service. I was tired of driving around the island and they offered to take us to the Mall when I asked about shopping options. The rooftop was very relaxing after a long day with nice views with tables with umbrellas outside, a room with a wet bar with 3 sides with sliding glass doors, and a BBQ was available if we wanted to use it. The outside garden area was very well groomed with tables and benches outside the hotel entrance. There is also ample parking in a gated secured area with 24 hour access with a coded card to come in and out as you please. We look forward to staying here again.
