- Tina (10/5): will come back again - I absolutely loved staying at Hotel Californian. The location is super convenient, everything is within walking distance, from the beach to cafes, restaurants, and the Funk Zone area What made me fall in love with this hotel the most is the design and atmosphere. The hotel building and the surrounding area are incredibly beautiful, with Spanish Colonial and Moroccan-inspired architecture that honestly made me feel like I was somewhere in Greece or Spain. The white walls, terracotta tones, and charming details everywhere create such a dreamy Mediterranean vibe. The whole experience felt luxurious, relaxing, and very aesthetic. Definitely one of the prettiest hotels I’ve stayed at Santa Barbara the overnight parking fee is expensive at $60

- Mrs_Michelin (10/5): A Stand Out Hotel on Our Californian Road Trip! - A fantastic stay at Hotel Californian. The location is absolutely perfect right by the beach and the Funk Zone which made exploring Santa Barbara on foot incredibly easy. The design of the hotel is beautiful and feels really special without being formal or stuffy. Our room was styling, comfortable and the whole place has a relaxed luxury feel. The rooftop pool and bar are a highlight with gorgeous views and a great drink / snacks menu. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols and there is a waiter to take orders. Our travel agent had mentioned it was our anniversary so we were treated to an upgrade and some fizz and chocolate covered strawberries which was a lovely surprise. Service throughout was warm, friendly and professional. We'd happily return and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Santa Barbara.
- Wanderer06804083161 (6/5): Very hospitable but needs updating - We regularly travel to Santa Barbara for staycations. It’s a beautiful drive from Pasadena especially with the coastline views. We have been staying at the El Encanto for decades but with the new owners there, waiting for things to settle in. Meanwhile, we decided to try out The Californian for late anniversary and early birthday celebrations. The hotel staff are wonderful but need to be more knowledgeable about the Amex Platinum benefits and room types booked. We booked a Sessina room with ocean view but discovered our room was in the old building across the street — a bit tired with a partial view only when standing on the balcony and overlooking another building rooftop. After we called reception, they offered two rooms, one a very nice large suite with a city view and the other the same room type we booked but with a much better ocean view. We chose the latter and were very pleased. The decor in the room itself is monochromatic and some of the furniture is worn and in need of repair and refinishing. A few bright colors might be more enticing. The brass fixtures were not polished and looked dirty with a green patina. Poor choice for a seaside hotel. Breakfast is not on-property but across the street with a limited menu. We will try that shortly. Blackbird, the dinner house was closed so we could not try it. Same for the interior bar. The best part of the stay so far has been the welcome reception at Society, the wine bar on the corner of the hotel. There, we signed up for the wine club while initially waiting for our room on arrival. Justin, the manager, was exceptionally knowledgeable, welcoming, and engaging. He’s a pro and we enjoyed the terrific wine flights. The hotel owner has assembled an impressive stable of wine brands over the years. Try the Two Sisters Reserve Pinot. Exceptional. This is our first time staying in the Funk Zone but we have tried many of the restaurants over the years. The hotel offers a shuttle cart for local transport. Unlike El Encanto though, it cannot take you to Montecito where many of the best restaurants and shopping are located. Unfortunately, “downtown” Santa Barbara is still struggling from Covid times when the city choose to shut down auto traffic and transformed a large section of State Street into a promenade. This has become rather seedy over the past five years, and most of the large shops like Nordstrom and Saks closed with Paseo losing other upscale retailers. There is talk about opening it back up to traffic in an attempt to revitalize the area. I hope they do this. All in will all, we are enjoying our stay. Will we come back? Not sure.

Wine bar didn’t serve food. Cafe was unstaffed. Staff was the least bit interested in helping. Shower was dirty. Hotel is horribly overpriced for what is included. Do not stay here.

The hotel actually takes up three separate blocks of Santa Barbara off of State Street about a block from the beach. The hotel facilities are beautiful and spotless. The hotel has several restaurants and cafés as part of its property and there are many many other restaurants within walking distance. The room was fantastic. The valet service was wonderful! They have an amazing rooftop pool and many other amenities. I didn’t even get to see everything. Could not recommend more highlight. My wife andI loved it.

We booked through Amex and appreciated the staff’s efforts to ensure we received all of our possible perks, including room upgrade, early check-in and late check-out. The room was spacious and cozy, the bed and linens were very comfy, as were the in-room seating options. The generously-sized double vanity and good water pressure were also appreciated! The highlights included a wonderful staff, especially Audrey at check-in and Dave (and the crew) at valet — we felt welcomed and cared for at every turn. Our first night, we had some noisy neighbors, and we really appreciated the front desk’s care, clear communication about options, as well as good humor. (They remedied the issue quickly — wish I could remember the gentleman’s name who took our call at the front desk!) I got the best massage of my life by Quinn at Marjorelle spa (and, similarly, all staff I encountered at the spa were great). I really appreciated the care in ensuring I had the right robe size and everything else I needed. Highly recommend! While we didn’t dine at any of the restaurants on site, we took advantage of in-room dining for breakfast. Like most hotels, very expensive for what you get — but the food was good, and it arrived fast and hot! We would definitely recommend Hotel Californian and would absolutely stay again next time we’re in town!

However, the service is unexplainably slow in the hotel and at GoatTree. A Coffee order takes 15-20 minutes, with the standard explanation that they are busy. However, i saw less than 40% patrons.

The hotel and amenities are gorgeous and really bridge the outdoors with the indoors seamlessly, which is what you want out of a Santa Barbara vacation. I can't imagine a more optimal location to enjoy Santa Barbara to the fullest.

Only couple of things to know when planning for stay: - avoid going to breakfast around 10am, it is extremely busy that time and wait times are long - EV charging, even though they have capability for charging they don't have yet system to ensure whether your car can get charged or not so prepare for possible surprise (and possible additional time for charging your car if needed)
- gr8r84u (10/5): The definition of hospitality! - Spent one night here while in town for a wedding. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay linger. Every single staff member was pleasant, friendly and helpful without sounding fake or forced. I don’t know where they find these people but we don’t have them back east. Shout out to Marisa, our server with a smile and a great attitude in the Goat Tree for breakfast this morning and the awesome valet team for your quick service with a smile. Oh and the room was spotless and beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed. If we make it back to Santa Barbara, we will definitely stay here again.
- N3606NGrebeccal (6/5): Average stay - Pros: The location was a convenient and central to stores and shops. The valet was always on time and provided great service. Cons: The room smelled moist and musty on arrival, which we told the front desk when we left, but she seemed unconcerned. The night scene made it loud in the room, which I suppose could be the trade off of being in a good location. Checkout wasn't as seamless as we'd like. The property is spread out between different buildings and leaving our building and checking out in another took more time than we'd like. Also, I normally book on Amex Travel, but this time, I booked through their website. It was difficult to make any adjustments to the reservation once it was made. I called a couple days before to see if I can book a larger room, but reservations said I would have to call the hotel directly to make the adjustment and sent me through a series of phone numbers, none of which made it worthwhile.

Exceptional! - Our two-night stay at Hotel Californian to celebrate our 50th anniversary was truly extraordinary---easily one of the most exceptional hospitality experiences we have ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like honored guests. The Manager went far above and beyond, personally selecting a stunning ocean-view room for us that took our breath away. Walking into the room to find a beautiful bottle of champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries waiting for us was such an elegant and thoughtful welcome...the perfect way to begin our celebration. What amazed us even more was that the exceptional service didn't end at checkout. The Manager thoughtfully arranged for complimentary wine tastings in the Santa Ynez Valley even after we left the property. Every member of the team contributed to a flawless stay. The front desk staff provided a warm, heartfelt welcome that immediately made us feel at home. The valet team was incredible helping to coordinate transportation so we could easily enjoy all that the area had to offer. And every restaurant on property delivered remarkable food, service and atmosphere. Each meal felt like part of the celebration. The Californian didn't just provide a place to stay, they created memories we will treasure forever. If you are looking for a place that truly understands hospitality at the highest level, this is it? We arrived excited to celebrate 50 years of marriage and left feeling celebrated ourselves. The Tan Tan pool gives a 360 view of all that is the best of Santa Barbara, overlooking the beach and mountains, truly amazing. Also, we took the train from home and the hotel is across the street from the train station, so no need for a Uber. When we got to our room, they had a birthday note, delicious chocolate treat and a bottle of champagne waiting for us to celebrate. It is that kind of customer service and attention to detail that really makes for a great experience. Well done! We were only visiting for a night but we packed a lot in Spa Majorelle for a facial, The Society for wine and Blackbird for dinner we enjoyed every minute. Thank you.

And with the lush choices of materials and fabric - the aesthetics felt luxurious. Our room, the courtyard spaces, reception… From the moment we arrived, from the valet service to the front desk, wait staff and maid service were all attentive and helpful. Not only did we feel pampered in the surroundings, but the staff made our stay extra special. Don’t miss the fabulous rooftop pool and the view from there of both the town and the ocean.

- JVA_JVA (10/5): Highly recommend this hotel for personal and business travel - The location of this hotel can't be beat with a direct the pier and the art museum as well as many great restaurants, tasting rooms, and shops. The view from the pool deck is stunning with views of the ocean, mountains, and downtown area; a great spot for sunrises and sunsets. The rooms were spacious. My room had a charming fireplace and double sinks. For meeting planners, the meeting space and lawn and rooftop dining options were fantastic across from the registration building. We also enjoyed a reception in the area in the lobby. Staff was responsive, friendly, and ideal for a multi-day meeting. The food was very good, and options were unique.

The property is beautiful, the rooms gorgeous ,and the location is excellent on State street, right by the beach and pier. Above all, the service, especially during our recent stay, was memorable. Special thanks to reservations manager, Amy Maguire. We had a family emergency that threatened our arrival date and Amy was so helpful in working with us, providing flexibility so that we were able to make our visit. Amy also assisted us with an issue with Expedia, as we had accidently made the reservation through them and then cancelled it due to the emergency (a word of caution: Expedia can come off as the hotel directly). Amy is not only professional, she is caring and totally customer focused. Hotel Californian is SO lucky to have her! Thank you, Amy. - Jennifer (9/5): The Hotel Californian is a chic boutique hotel in a prime near-waterfront location in Santa Barbara. - The design was consistent and very nice (Moroccan style). The rooftop pool and lounge deck had to be the best aspect of this hotel. I also liked the balcony off my room. I had anticipated a bathtub in en suite bathroom. I had also anticipated a grand lobby and a hotel bar, as well as a hotel restaurant within the actual hotel building. The way that this hotel is arranged is across three (or four?) separate buildings, which in my mind detracted from the overall experience. I was grateful to be in the building with the pool, though.
- microbespecialty (10/5): Lovely hotel - The hotel is a cute hotel that has great service. The food at the Goat Tree was really good for breakfast/brunch. The rooms were well kept and clean. The service was excellent and friendly. The house cart that could drive you within a 2 mile radius was awesome as well. I think a real car would have felt safer though. We did get a room with a view of the ocean in the distance. The immediate view next to our room was a parking lot. We were not bothered by this fact, just wanted to point it out. The hotel is also super close to the Santa Barbara Amtrak station, which was super nice for us because we used Amtrak for our trip. Overall, Hotel Californian was a great place to stay at and I would stay there again!
- Gloria (4/5): Aesthetic but Pathetic Valet - Beautifully decorated aesthetic for the overall hotel. We loved the Nespresso machines and robes in the room. Also for our honeymoon they left us chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. I was absolutely horrified when the valet lost the ticket/ location of my car. It was my wedding day, and I was standing outside on the curb in my wedding dress while no one could locate the ticket or car. There was a complete lack of urgency and coordination—six different valet attendants repeatedly asked for my ticket number and said they would “get on it immediately,” yet it took over 30 minutes to resolve. This delay made me late for my own wedding, which was incredibly upsetting. I tried to be proactive to not be late by using their online portal to call my car before leaving my suite but this made no difference. I almost had to call an uber. FYI their valet is ~$65 a night. I was also disappointed that there was a very large painting of a sexy half-naked woman in the room for my honeymoon night, which I politely asked to have removed. I was told it would be taken care of right away, but it never was.
- 197ashleel (10/5): Romantic Anniversary Weekend - My husband and I stayed at Hotel Californian for our anniversary trip to Santa Barbara. We had such an amazing hotel stay, especially for our first wedding anniversary. From the moment arrived to the moment we checked out we were taken care of. Amanda at The Society gave us such a great wine tasting experience. She was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all the wine they had to offer. Matthew, the lead bartender at the bar gave us some great Hot Toddy’s as well as some excellent recommendations of things to do and see in the area. The ocean view from our room was absolutely beautiful—it felt like the perfect place to celebrate such a milestone. We are incredibly grateful to Hotel Californian for making our anniversary so memorable and special!! We already can’t wait to come back.

Service was top notch - from the valets, to the front desk, to housekeeping. Brian , Danny, Cooper - really great valets. They brightened our stay. The rooms were gorgeous and comfortable. And pet-friendly! Small touches like motion sensing lighting in the corridors, beautiful bathrooms with soft but clear lighting, hair-catching drains, clean shower construction.
- Go167972 (8/5): Almost Perfect Stay in a Great Location - Overall our stay was really good and we enjoyed it a lot. We loved the welcome splash when we arrived and the hotel is in such an amazing location. Everything is walkable and the property itself is really pretty. Our room was nice and clean, the bed was super comfortable, and housekeeping was great. Everyone we interacted with at the hotel was kind and helpful, which really made a difference. One downside on the hotel side was our neighbors. They were loud and partying and screaming until about 1am, so we did not get the restful night we were hoping for. That part was a bummer, especially since everything else felt so relaxing. We also tried a couple of the hotel spots for drinks during our stay and those experiences were a little disappointing. We went to Tan Tan rooftop pool expecting an actual bar with small bites and drinks, but it ended up being QR code only with a long wait time, which was not what we were expecting at all. We then stopped by Blackbird for a drink and one of our cocktails was so bad we could not even finish it after one sip. Unfortunately, no one checked in with us about the drinks either. Even with a few letdowns, we still had a great time overall thanks to the beautiful hotel, comfortable room, amazing location, and great staff. We would definitely consider staying here again, just hoping for quieter neighbors and better luck with drinks next time.

The bedding is very comfortable. The spa was small but the services we had (facial/massage) were great. My husband raved about having the best massage from Quinn. The breakfast at The Goat Tree was yummy. We also received great travel perks by booking with our Platinum American Express. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends and would love to come back.

Nonrefundable pet deposit was very high, considering that our pet does not shed and is very clean...I don't mind deposit, it just seems a little unfair to pay an extra $250 when it would be impossible to know that we were ever there.

Noisy from the hallway. Blinds didn’t move. Huge shower but faucet provided a small drip of water. Staff was hardly ever seen and not welcoming or attentive to any needs. We stayed 2 years ago and had a great experience. This time I was so disappointed especially paying over $750 a night!

- desireeh527 (10/5): Warm & Welcoming - My fiance and I had a wonderful time at the Hotel Californian. I was concerned that we were not going to get the warmth that you typically experience at boutique properties but I was proven otherwise. The front desk woman who checked us in was so welcoming, as were the rest of the staff, including the wine tasting room, The Society. We stayed in the Tangerinn room which had a fireplace which was lovely. There's even a little doorless electric vehicle that shuttles guests within 2 miles of the hotel - such a nice amenity! My only critical review would be of Goat Tree cafe, where we waited way too long for our food to come out, and had beverages forgotten (they were clearly understaffed for a holiday weekend). We only ate there because we had breakfast credit. Otherwise we really enjoyed staying here and are even considering returning when we get married!

The bottle of wine awaiting us ( a Santa Barbara white wine) was a great extra touch & much appreciated…The proximity to the Blackbird Restaurant was great for a wonderful meal and that Focacia bread was to die for ! Nothing at all!

At one point, I had to email and call the office 5 times within 10 days to get a response about booking an event space for my wedding. Couldn’t believe I had to do so much convincing to spend so much money! The customer service from the reservations and events team could be significantly improved. Not attentive, hard to work with. Check your invoices (they even charged me for the wine they gave us complimentary!). They charged my bridal party for my stay. A mess. I wouldn’t book an event here again. I wouldn’t even stay here again. There’s tons of places in Santa Barbara who will treat you far better at this price point. Take this as your sign to keep looking elsewhere, I wish I did.

Was looking for a relaxed stay it turned out to be stressful and exhausting. Hotel and staffs are not 5 stars for sure. Will not recommend or come back. - 971angelas (10/5): Exceptional Service and Beautiful Hotel - As always, the service at the Hotel Californian is what shines the most! It is what keeps me coming back. The front desk is so graciously welcoming and helpful throughout your stay (Amber, Alexis and Ben). The valet group is truly my favorite. The valet team is the face of the hotel. They are the first and last interaction you have and a lot of times, they are the most interactions you have with staff if you are coming and going a lot during your stay. They are exceptional (Justin, Brian, Cooper, Kevin, Omar, Cole, Salem)! In terms of taking care of their regular guests, their concierge is wonderful (Gabrielle Reilly)! There is something magical about the staff at Hotel Californian. They are wonderful and keep us coming back! Besides the staff and exceptional service, the location of the hotel is the best since it is walking distance to everything (beach, pier, bars, shops, restaurants). The rooms are beautiful and well maintained also. It is a wonderful place to stay!

I will come here again and again when I visit Santa Barbara. At Majorelle Spa both Quinn our masseuse and Jennifer our facial were the best we ever experienced.

I truly plan on making this trip to SB and staying at Hotel Californian an annual trip. The proximity to the beach was incredible. The rooftop pool has an incredible view. I took my time selecting a hotel that would make this a special weekend. And there was definitely some concern prior to arriving that my expectations would not be met. But with Gabby’s guidance, our stay felt special and classy. I would highly recommend staying here.

The noise woke us up at 6:30am. Upon checking out, the front dest told me that I should have asked NOT to be placed next to a family next time. - marathon8 (10/5): A gem in the heart of Santa Barbara - This is the place to stay if you're going to Santa Barbara and want the best of all worlds--beautiful hotel, walk to everything from tasting rooms to great dining to the beach etc. The rooms are a good size (larger than most hotels) and very well appointed, staff was excellent. We enjoyed the rooftop pool at the end of the day, it's on the small size but not unusual for a hotel in a downtown area. Given the limited number of loungers, it would be great if they could add more--especially that there's space on the upper deck which seems to be wasted. Also, the pool menu is very limited---it could use more snack/appetizers.
- hyead (8/5): Fine stopover - Our time at his hotel was limited. We only stayed one night without time to experience everything offered. Our room was large and wonderful despite the fact it was marketed as an ocean view room when in fact it was a parking lot view with a just sliver of ocean viewable down the street. If you book an ocean view, be sure you are on the third floor. Apart from that, everything was nice, if pricey. We would return.

However, I have decided this is my new favorite hotel in Santa Barbara. The entire stay was a pleasure, from the welcome text to the comfort of the room, to the staff, who consistently provided excellent service. Our bed was so comfortable I asked what brand/make it was, and they were able to provide a link! I really enjoyed our morning coffee at The Goat Tree Cafe, and appreciated the service provided at the Tan-Tan pool, which has amazing views - you feel as though you are actually on the beach. Overall, this property is exactly what one hopes for in a boutique hotel: great service, beautiful decor, and high quality food and amenities, plus an extremely comfortable room. We will be back.

- CarlosV2252 (4/5): Lack of Empathy - We recently stayed at this hotel for a wedding weekend, and while the property itself is beautiful, our experience was unfortunately marred by a disappointing lack of customer service. My pregnant wife and I arrived around 1:15 PM on a Saturday, well aware that check-in might not be possible yet. When we asked the reception staff if there was a conference room or any small space available where we could freshen up and get ready for the 4:30 PM wedding, we were flatly told “no.” What surprised and disappointed us most was that no effort was made to assist us or find any kind of solution. Incredibly, our room was not ready until 4:15 PM—just 15 minutes before the wedding began—which meant we completely missed the ceremony. This was deeply frustrating and upsetting, especially given the circumstances and the fact that we had communicated our situation. We understand that early check-in can’t always be accommodated. However, for a hotel that presents itself as a 5-star property, a greater level of empathy and effort should be standard—especially when guests are in a time-sensitive situation. Even a small gesture could have made a big difference. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and reconsiders their approach to customer service. Sometimes it’s not just about luxury—it’s about care and consideration for your guests. I understand that early check-in isn’t always guaranteed, especially on a busy weekend. But what was truly disappointing was the unwillingness of the staff to help in any meaningful way. For a hotel that positions itself as 5-star, basic empathy and effort to assist guests in special circumstances should be a given. The management should seriously re-evaluate their approach to customer service. Sometimes it’s not just about the amenities or the decor—but about how guests are treated when it really matters.

- Tyson1409 (4/5): Overpriced and not welcoming - For $1500/night, I expect top notch service and hospitality. That is not what we received. On a positive note, the room was clean and the hotel was a central location in the Funk Zone. There is a refrigerator in the room but not for use as it is filled with over priced beverages. There’s no microwave or coffee pot. Also, there’s no coffee or water service anywhere on the property. Coffee and water service in the lobby seems like basic service. We received a text about a Rose’ cart from 3-4pm but when we arrived, no one knew where it was, “maybe it is across the street, no, it should be in the other building, but wait, it ended at 3. Sorry. The hotel has bikes to use that is first come first serve but only after 8am. We are early risers so that is not helpful. There’s also one golf cart to use but also, first come first served, after 11, so even if you ask for it early, you need to come back at 11 and hope you are the first in line. We then went to the pool. We asked for water, “no, we don’t have that.” Two separate days, we were told this. The last evening it was implied we were not welcome while relaxing in the hot tub because a wedding party was on the upper deck. I was hoping to spend the last evening on the upper deck of the hotel I paid $1500/night for but instead was treated rudely while trying to enjoy the pool. Overall, if I return to Santa Barbara, I will not stay in this hotel.

- Gemlou31 (8/5): Central and comfortable hotel - Stayed here for three nights. Not much to do in Santa Barbara so this was a rest point. Hotel room was very comfortable - excellent size. If you plan to use pool I’d recommend requesting a room in the same building as the pool. Bathroom and bedroom huge. Very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children. We would go out for bike ride ( free to borrow from hotel) or walk, then spent afternoon by pool. We were there from 2 ish until 6pm ish and there were always plenty of sun beds. Ordering anything to drink etc was v expensive we found -tbh that was the case across our trip -,so buy drinks and store in fridge in room. We ate at brass bear and shalhoobs - both excellent for a casual relaxed meal with kids. Certainly cheaper than service restaurants. Finneys also good. Hotel offers umbrellas and chairs for beach but we didn’t use those…. We were a little disappointed with condition of beach. Santa Monica was a better beach - shame we’d not had time to spend time on that one!

- P6329KZteresam (6/5): Disappointed - We have spent multiple nights each year at the Hotel Californian since it first opened. The location is great, and for the most part, the rooms and service have been fine. This last stay may have been our last. We booked our usual room type, which is supposed to feature an ocean view. Well, if you stood on the balcony, you could sorta see the ocean. If you sat, the solid balcony walls prevented you from seeing anything. There were two TVs in the room, but only one remote. It controlled both TVs at the same time, so we couldn't turn on just one. The sound wasn't completely synchronized, so there was an annoying echo. We ended up unplugging one TV because we couldn't otherwise turn it off without turning both off. We stayed three nights and had to request housekeeping if we wanted our room tidied during our stay. After the second night, housekeeping made up our room, but didn't touch the coffee cups we used for in-room coffee. When we inquired, we were told that cleaning the coffee cups wasn't standard for stayover rooms. After many decades of travel, this was the first time we ever encountered that. And the room rate was well over $1,000/night! We usually start our mornings with a cappuccino and pastry at the Goat Tree. Service was so slow and inattentive the first morning, we simply skipped it from then on. I'm really sorry we had such a lousy experience. We think the location is great, it's very walkable, and we like being able to wander around the Funk Zone. But I can't see paying these kinds of rates for this poor level of service. Will look for another place to stay on future trips to Santa Barbara.

- Lloyd (9/5): Fabulous, fantastic, First class. Amazing rooms, great staff, a gem in the heart of Santa Barbara. - Amazing location close to the beach and the Funkzone. I am fortunate enough to have stayed in a lot of 5* hotels and I think the room in this one is the best I have ever stayed in. The little touches like a little poem or words of wisdom left in the room at turn down, just make it feel that much more special. Really friendly and helpful staff, not too formal (which I prefer). We really couldn't have asked for more. We would never stay anywhere else in Santa Barbara. We stayed several places from San Francisco to LA and agreed this is the place we wish we had spent more time. Excellent, treat yourself to a stay at the Californian, you really won't regret it. The hotel is spread across three blocks so lacks a little in convenience, but more than makes up for it in other areas. It is expensive but did not feel like poor value. The pool bar was closed when we were there because it wasn't particularly warm.

We were kept awake the entire night due to constant loud noises both from other guests and from the street. Despite calling guest services multiple times for assistance, no staff ever came to address the issue. It felt like our concerns were completely ignored. To make matters worse, we encountered an issue with the air conditioning in our room—it wasn’t working properly, and the room became increasingly uncomfortable as the night went on. I brought this up with the front desk, but no action was taken. No technician was sent, no follow-up was provided, and we were left to endure a sleepless and stuffy night. My daughter also found two bugs at her roller bed.. This was a special occasion that turned into a regrettable memory. I chose your hotel with high expectations based on its reputation, but the lack of responsiveness and basic hospitality was shocking. Not only did it ruin what should have been a joyful birthday experience, but it also left us physically exhausted and extremely dissatisfied with the overall service.
