- Maierhoffer (8/5): Clean and quiet rooms - Like the peace and quiet. Nice comfortable beds. Great stay Handicapped rooms are at the end of the hallway. Checked in and was a pain bringing in luggage. Not really Ada compatible
- Ken (3/5): -
- John Richard (8/5): -
- Charles (4/5): Room was good but breakfast sucked - Breakfast that we paid for was the worst I've ever seen, left to get a good breakfast. Dirty area and hardly anything there, not even juices were available
- Charles (10/5): Would stay next trip - Convenient, clean and quiet
- John Richard (7/5): Overall comfortable economy room - Convenient location, pleasant staff, comfortable room with desk, chair, bed, tv, bath, etc. Flooring needed some repair/replacement in one area that had apparently had PRIOR water damage outside bathroom but room was clean. One area of flooring; suggest trim in bathroom be painted (some chips).
- Barbara (5/5): -
- Midtlyng (3/5): -
- Stacy (8/5): -
- Tristan (8/5): -
- Larry (7/5): Met expectations - Okay TV remote would not change channels, but we meeting with friends on the lake.
- Chad (3/5): Take care of the bugs - Proximity to job aite The cockroaches in the kitchen area.
- Cynthia (5/5): It was ok for 1 night - It was clean Staff wasn’t very friendly and breakfast wasn’t much
- Debra (5/5): We will not be returning. - Poor quality for even a simple breakfast. It has went downhill in all areas from past years. First room smelled like cat urine. All rooms have paint peeling and needs serious updating. See above
- John (10/5): Worth the money - Always clean, comfortable and a great value. Nothing
- Neil (5/5): -
- David (9/5): -
- Roberts (10/5): Was a wonderful experience. - Clean, helpful staff. Nothing, excellent facilities
- Smentkowski (8/5): The room was fine, service was poor, no food for paying customers when he was sold out. - No Breakfast, 90% of the clients went Deer hunting and the owner would not have any breakfast for us----even when he was Sold Friday & Saturday + he is 50 to 66 % sold out the rest of the week. He will not give great service to his customers, only average service so he can make a little more profit.
Several Customers were locked out of the motel while they were carrying clothes to their cars & Trucks. When asked why he would not re-open the doors, he said he opens at 6:00 am and not before. That means the customers have to just wait for him. On days the motel is sold out, the owner should help his customers in any way possible, so they will return to his motel.
- Salazar (8/5): - Clean room, quiet area, great value for the money. I don't usually trust the OYO company but this is one of the better hotels. No snacks or drinks on sale.
- Jerry (8/5): Look up at what I didn’t like - Location Room floor needs replacing and paint touch up
- Tammy (7/5): It was okay. - I was in Monroe City for a funeral and since this is the only motel in town I needed to stay here. The location is good. There isn't very much in the town itself. The manager I saw was friendly, but he was the only staff I saw. They supplied me with a crib with no extra cost. The breakfast is mainly waffles and cereal. All full of sugar. The coffee pot is very small and empty most of the time. We asked for coffee to be made on 2 different mornings. The first morning the manager made another pot, but the second morning he said he would be right there, but he still hadn't made any when the breakfast area closed. I have stayed here before on the first floor and the beds were fine, but here on the second floor they were worn out and uncomfortable. We were there 3 days and never saw staff except for the manager.
- Richelle (10/5): - clean nice location cheap
- Tammy (8/5): -
- Kris (4/5): -
- Rafi (6/5): Less than average - Booking.com Rooms have shared door, even though you can lock it but still you can hear next rooms noise
- Joe (9/5): Single night stay.checkin was quick, room clean. - Clean and quiet. I like that the shampoo was a single use package instead of a plastic bottle.
- Roger (6/5): I use this hotel because it is convenient for me when I visit friends and family in the area. - Location Breakfast was really bare bones. Only saw one staff member and that was at check-in. He said only 3 words then gave me the key and said the room number.
- Jeff (2/5): ADA Non-Compliant - I don’t normally write reviews, but my experience at the Fairbridge Inn was so appalling I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff was rude, dismissive, and shockingly unprofessional. Instead of a welcome, I was met with attitude and blatant ignorance — especially when it came to my certified service dog. They charged me $60 for a service animal, which is not only unethical but illegal under the ADA. Either they’re unaware of federal law, or they just don’t care. Either way, it’s unacceptable.
The property itself was no better — trash scattered across the parking lot, giving the whole place a rundown, neglected vibe. It felt more like a truck stop than a hotel. If cleanliness and hospitality are even remotely important to you, do yourself a favor and stay anywhereelse.
I left feeling disrespected, frustrated, and disgusted. Fairbridge Inn? More like Unfairbridge Out.
- James (6/5): - 10 pm to 6 am lobby locked. Was difficult to check in .
- Dave (8/5): Its ok - Nice "OK" motel. Over-priced. Awful excuse for a free breakfast. It is really the only place in town, thats why I chose it. I stayed there once before and when I needed a fresh towel, I was taken to the Guest Laundry and told that I had to wash the towel that was in the room. Good tv. Funky smell in the hall.
- Merlin (10/5): - Clean Rooms
- Doug (5/5): -
- Kari (6/5): No frills - The front desk employee did not speak to me. The room was clean, but the water took a while to get hot, and the shower curtain was completely transparent. The bed and pillows were nice. However, the TV only worked for about an hour and then shut off. Had to turn on the air conditioner every morning. Breakfast was packaged muffins and apples, and warm juice. If you need a place to lay your head, it works; looking for anything more, you will be disappointed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This was as advertised, a good place to get a good night sleep. Room was clean and comfortable. Hallways and stairs were not very clean. Breakfast was ok but definitely could offer a little more. Price good compared to others in the vicinity. Overall a decent experience.
- Edward (8/5): - Good room for the price. Place was clean and neat. Expected a crappy bed and was pleasantly surprised with a nice firm mattress. Good restaurant just a hop down the street.
- Janny (7/5): - Convenient location. Clean but warn.... could use a refresh.
- Kenajo (5/5): -
- Tim (10/5): - Room is very comfortable and clean.
- Jared (10/5): - More gluten free breakfast items, please.
- Charles (5/5): It seems Windham organization doesn’t investigate these units before endorsing them. - Adequate. Difficult to get to off the highway. The only ice machine was on the second floor far away from the stairs, there is no elevator. The breakfast selection was very sparse.
- Michelle (8/5): - Safe and affordable. Needs some repairs.
- Valentina (8/5): - The entry and stairs were dirty, and disgusting in our opinion.
The room was was actually fine.
It’s not an IHG, Hilton, or Marriott property, but it was fine for sleep.
Do not get me wrong, this property is walking a fine line between respectable and cheap rundown.
Latest reviews were terrible, but we found it to be what we sight…..comfortable sleep.
The breakfast is laughable.
Why even try?
- Hinton (9/5): - Just the overall cleanliness People stomping upstairs most of the night
- thomas (4/5): - Online photos looked good but do not provide an accurate representation. Would compare the Inn to low budget hotels.
- Roxy (6/5): - The room was clean.
- Susan (6/5): - The bed was comfortable and while the property was very dated it appeared to be clean.
The shower was broken - you could not adjust the handle for warm water. When I told the owner upon checking out, he just looked at me. So be aware room #101 has no hot water in shower.
- Rebellion (7/5): Mark Twain Lake Jellystone Park Adventure. - Nice quiet motel in a quiet country town near Mark Twain Lake and Hannibal, Missouri USA 🇺🇸 They have a swimming pool, but it was being used as a storage unit room for the motel.
- Edward (3/5): Poor -
- Sharise (6/5): Pleasant - Room was clean, good TV selections.
Conveniently located with grocery, gas, fast food and family restaurant nearby. Toilet seat needed repair.
Breakfast could have been better is a new waffle maker was purchased and stronger coffee offered.
- Pamela (4/5): - Room was a little bit dirty, run-doen, and it took a long time to cool it down with the AC. Hallways are hot! No housekeeping during our 2 night stay.
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- Vollmer (7/5): Good -
- Zuck (2/5): Very poor - No breakfast no coffee Breakfast
- William (10/5): - Nice hotel. Rooms had great A/C. Very easy to check in.
- Tina (6/5): - Great room and very comfortable bed. However, when I went down to the 1st floor for ice, the ice machine had mold spots all over it! The owner really should replace it.
- Rick (8/5): - Breakfast menu limited
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Myers (5/5): Passable - Owners were friendly, ac worked great, close to the lake. Beds not very comfy, rust in bathroom, found spider in bathroom
- ashley (6/5): - We have a fully potty trained pup and were placed in a room where many obvious, non potty trained animals have been in. Floor was buckling, smelled like urine and the chair had a huge stain on it.
The door on the side of the building never locks, so anyone could come in at any time.
Staff was very friendly though.
- Troyer (10/5): Clean rooms - The rooms were very nice.
- James (8/5): - Does anyone smile anymore? Staff helpful but very serious. Room shows some wear. Breakfast okay. Variety of restaurants near.
- susan (8/5): - We have a fishing boat and keep looking for places to stay around Mark Twain lake. This place was clean, quiet and safe. The Manager was helpful. We would stay there again. Was a very good value. Do note that the breakfast has no protein, but had waffles, toast, fruit, juices, cereal.
- Ramona (8/5): Economical for one night. - Rates were economical and room was clean. Check-in was fast and the pet fee was low at $15 a night. The continental breakfast was less than to be desired and could use some improvement. I would consider it bare bones, but other than that for one night in a pinch the property sufficed.
- Deeann (7/5): Good -
- Toombs (5/5): Passable -
- Stacy (8/5): - Breakfast options were limited; cereal, waffles and bananas. Didn't need a key card to get in from any entrances, so anyone could walk in.
- Sue (8/5): Very good -
- Haley (4/5): - TV did not work, hotel manager had to come in and fix it. Room cleanliness was subpar.
- JanJenkins (8/5): - The beds were comfy, decent linens. Good, safe location. Breakfast is slight.
- Jerry (6/5): - Needs floor repairs. Needs more often room service
- Carla (8/5): - Clean
- Don (8/5): - We needed an inexpensive room for one night as a stop on a long trip. This hotel worked out very well for that. The cost was reasonable, the checkin process was quick, and the room was clean and comfortable. While I gave it ratings of 4 in all categories, if one of the categories had been value for the money, then it would definitely have been a 5. The only real disappointment was the free breakfast, which was rather meager but good enough for what we needed.
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Deb (4/5): - Very little choices for breakfast. Bed matress was hard. Room door frames need painted. Disappointed in price, it was too high.
- Randy (10/5): I would stay again. - It is a good place to stay and it is simple place to stay. The breakfast selection is limited but doable to eat. The laundry room is clean and the hotel is quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place - Nice place in a small town at a very good price
- Renee (7/5): This hotel met all of our requirements - The location was great for visiting family. The room was clean. It felt a little abandoned, but it appears they are working on some upgrades. The breakfast room left much to be desired and someone always got to the coffee before me.🙃
- Jan (10/5): - Wonderful stay! I have stayed at this hotel many times with great service, very clean room and very quiet area! Highly recommend
- Erin (9/5): Nice clean rooms would return - Very acceptable stay was last minute. Decent property. Not much offerings at breakfast
- Kitsey (8/5): Not bad for the price. - The hotel was clean and the owners were friendly. We appreciated that they allowed pets, as we were traveling with our dog. The room was comfortable, and it was pleasantly quiet—no noise from outside. However, the toilet didn’t flush properly and the bathtub drained slowly. There’s also a spider issue that needs to be addressed; I killed three during our two-day stay, including a brown recluse—all in the bathroom. The breakfast was minimal, though the area was clean and well maintained. We've stayed at this motel several times under different ownership. While there have been some improvements, a few more wouldn’t hurt. Overall, we’ll stay again.
- Richard (8/5): - No pool, breakfast was very sparse!
- Matthew (4/5): - The breakfast was limited, almost to the point that it was pretty much nonexistent. The beds were hard. There was mold in Air Conditioning.
- Jim (6/5): Just ok - Needs cleaned and updated!
- James R (4/5): - Outdated, shower drained really slow. Toilet had to be flushed several times to get it to go down. Floors in the room were dirty. Overall poor conditions.
- Barbara (6/5): Ok - Could have been a little cleaner and grass could have been cut and flowers or something to brighten up the outside.
- Jianyi (10/5): - Quietness
- Rudolf (4/5): A simple stay with a few inconveniences but overall acceptable given the limited options in the area - The rooms are spacious and reasonably clean, which is definitely a plus. We appreciated that the hotel was able to combine our two rooms - thank you for that! However, we had reserved a travel crib for our baby in advance, and unfortunately, it was not available upon arrival. Anyone who has traveled with a baby will understand how inconvenient and stressful that can be.
In addition, the swimming pool was under renovation during our stay, which was not mentioned anywhere in advance. That was disappointing, especially since a pool can be an important feature when traveling with children.
Overall, the building and rooms are in need of renovation. It’s an older place that could really benefit from some updates and refreshed decor.
The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Aside from butter for the toast, there were no other spreads - no jam, no peanut butter, nothing. It’s quite obvious that corners are being cut here. In our opinion, it would be better not to offer breakfast at all than to offer such a poor version of it.
Given how remote Monroe City is, options are limited, so overall, the stay was still acceptable - but there’s definitely room for improvement.
- George (2/5): Yuk!!!! - I cannot say enough bad things about this place!! The only good thing was that the bed was very good!! The breakfast was almost non existent. The A/C did not work correctly. The TV did not work, had to call the manager to fix it. The hot water was Luke warm at best. It took the manager 15 minutes to show up to check me in. The alarm clock was unplugged and had to find an outlet and set it. The outside ptoperty was very messy!!
- Michelle (8/5): - It looks as if they are trying to renovate the place. The chair in our room needed to be replaced or stain removed. The paint on the walls looked as if perhaps it either needed to be repainted or perhaps paint areas where the paint was scraped off. The caulking by the tub and floor looked like it should be replaced to make it look nice. I felt safe there, but with some little touches, it could be made really nice.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Don’t be fooled like us - We were fooled by the 9.0 rating, don’t be like us. Unless we had the one bad room in this hotel I would not rate it this high at all. The beds were awfully uncomfortable. I think I could feel every spring. The pet fee of $10 is actually $20. While walking around outside it became clear the hotel it is falling into disrepair. Did not stay for breakfast, ran away early in the morning.
- Sharon (8/5): - Very friendly. An older property, but very clean
- Jeanne (5/5): Passable - Breakfast was below standard. Not a lot of choices. Never enough coffee Bathroom floor not clean. Light bulbs need replaced.
Bed was very comfortable
- Jan (10/5): Great stay - My kids live in the area and I just need a comfortable clean place to sleep!
Highly recommend very clean very friendly really quiet lots of well lighted parking. Large yard if you’re traveling with pets!
- Andy (9/5): We enjoyed it. - Great Orange Juice, waffles, cereal Scrambled eggs haha
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Sam (10/5): - Great stay.
- Murphy (10/5): Exceptional -
