- Garfield-Birkbeck (9/5): Very good and I will be booking again - The room was a good size and the pillows were comfortable. Bathroom was clean as were the towels. Good parking and the messages explaining how to get in were very helpful It's a bit strange not seeing any member of staff and it wasn't clear what one had to do with one's room key at the end of the stay

the rooms are always spotless and the beds are super comfy!
we love the communal room at the back - this is super handy, especially when you are staying in multiple rooms and have kids! nothing!

- Andrew (9/5): Its so Lovely we enjoyed our stay very much...I'd recommend 100% - Well the Old School House was lovely easy to find and free parking to the rear... the breakfast was so good we enjoyed what we had very much hubby had fry ups both mornings which he said we're the best he'd had in a while....we slept well in our lovely huge comfy bed
The village is so nice the weather was so hot which we enjoyed very much as we're from cumbria where it rains a LOT we had a few drinks with the locals in the pub across the road they we're very chatty and very welcoming...
We ate in the white Horse a Nepolese restaurant/pub in the village one night and the second night we went a pub called the Bridge 5 minutes away where we sat out by the canal in the sun watching boats going by and canoes etc and had some lovely food. .we will definitely be coming back down to Waterbeach to stay with Lisa & Phil... There wasn't anything not to like just wished we could have stayed longer...
- Helen (9/5): -
- Chaouad (8/5): -
- Jane (10/5): An excellent value B&B Highly recommended - Good parking, well signposted, good communication, comfortable room and excellent breakfast. Really excellent value. For the price, we couldn’t fault it
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Bakare (9/5): - The entrance is clean and welcoming, even though it was a self check in.
The room was clean and well laid out. I only stayed for a night and I certainly slept well The kitchen was closed as the operators were on annual leave
- Angela (10/5): Alles perfekt 😍 - Sauber, gemütlich und nette Gastgeber
- levi (10/5): Excellent will be returning 2026 - Perfect location , spotless, friendly staff, car park ,food excellent could not fault Nothing
- Scott (4/5): Disappointing - The room was clean. Unfortunately the room was very noisy, especially the bathroom. Every time someone else in another room flushed the toilet or used the shower it sounded like someone was running a bath in my room. The sounds of talking and doors opening and closing came through too.
WiFi speed was very poor (approx 5-7mb) and I couldn't find any plug sockets in the room. I had breakfast booked but didn't realise until morning that you had to fill in a paper form and leave it in the front entrance by 8pm the night before. When I got in bed I decided to turn the bedside lamp on and read for a while but annoyingly it was brighter than the sun! By morning I'd had a bad sleep so just left without eating.
All in all after a long day driving I just wanted somewhere to rest and unfortunately this wasn't the place to do it.
- Dan (10/5): - Breakfast was fantastic, good quality and plenty of options
- Terry (10/5): - Location, pleasant friendly staff, breakfast food very good quality.
- Roberts (10/5): - The hosts were lovely, breakfasts were fab, all round a great experience!!
- Ian (10/5): Great stay at a lovely B&B - Lovely room in a great location. Fabulous breakfast
- Carol (9/5): Local! -
- Laurence (8/5): Very good for a short stay - Lovely hosts who served up a great breakfast with a wide variety of options, including gluten-free choices. Our room was quiet; there is little to no traffic noise. The hosts have gone to great lengths to make the residence as homely as possible. Although the bed was very large, as advertised, the room itself was quite small and manoeuvring around the room with luggage for just 3 nights was a challenge. The bathroom was adequate, although why the shower compartment was open (no door) at one end is odd. Extreme care was required to stop the bathroom floor from flooding. We've noticed this situation recently in other accommodations.
- Rosalind (8/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): We were visiting family and this B&B is prime location for us, owners are very welcoming and friendly, facilities ar - Location, comfort, cleanliness & welcoming N/A
- Chris (10/5): Just what we needed - It was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The check in and check out were very easy and the breakfast was excellent Nothing
- Robin Merriam (6/5): A pleasant stay marred by the banging door. - Excellent breakfast. The bed and breakfast was in a good position in the village. We found the bed a bit hard.
Also the door of or room banged each time someone went through the fire door in the corridor outside.
- Keith (10/5): Very clean, modern and comfortable room. Breakfast was delicious - Very clean and modern. Breakfast was excellent Nothing
- Michael (10/5): - Lovely quaint place, great hosts and facilities.
- Kathleen (10/5): A lovely, clean, comfortable stay and breakfast was good. - It's a delightful place to stay, it is opposite a park. There is ample parking at the rear of the property, but if this is full, there is on-street parking. On the other side of the park, you will find 2 pubs offering meals. Breakfast was included in our stay. Breakfast was delicious. The room was lovely, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We stayed in room 8. Not the Old School House's fault but the other guests need to park more responsibly. Had they done so, we could have fitted in the rear carpark but ended up parking on the street.
- manuel (9/5): Warm-full hospitality and Great Breakfast - Bed linen and breakfast Nada
- Debbie (10/5): Amazing stay. The little touches here and there were lovely - We stay in hotels all the time and that was the best breakfast we have ever had. Food was tasty, cooked to perfection and apple choices. The plates were hot and good quality food. .
- T P (9/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): Great B&B, great location, good rooms. Would definitely stay again. - Room was clean and more than adequate.
Good ordering for breakfast which you filled in and left in reception every evening. Good selection for breakfast and the English breakfast had a good choice of items.
A very well run B&B that I'd thoroughly recommend. There was nothing to dislike.
- Jenny (6/5): Functional but dull - Not a lot. Comfy bed. Room depressingly grey. Furniture scuffed. Experience impersonal. Breakfast almost inedible.
- Richard (10/5): Not too expensive, but really worth the money. - The place was very clean, very quiet. Good facilities and the staff were genuinely friendly not forced customer service. The guest folder might need a tidy up and updating.
- Jamie (10/5): - Hotel accommodated me very late notice following a previously booked hotel falling through.
Room was exactly what I needed working night shifts. Quiet, clean, great fresh breakfast. Ample towels and tea coffee making facilities provided.
Lisa was very accommodating and really good to have a chat with each morning.
Would definitely stay again if working in the area. N/A
- Mechelle (10/5): Would stay again if in the area again with no doubt . - The accommodation was in lovely surroundings .Accommodation was very clean ,everything you needed in the room. Little touches to etc cookies hairdryer shampoo .Staff couldn't do enough for you .Breakfast was exceptional so much to choose from, and was very good quality ingredients .
- John (9/5): -
- Graham (10/5): - Exceptional quality throughout. Clean, quiet comfortable and classy. Amazing breakfast beautifully set out and organised with efficient, friendly and courteous staff, worth the tariff alone!
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Rik (10/5): - Excellent place to stay. Room was very clean and nice, also friendly owner.
- Linda (10/5): Had a fantastic stay. The accommodation was close to Cambridge city centre and Ely. - The room was clean and comfortable , the breakfast were excellent and the host were outstanding.
- BRIGHT (10/5): -
- RACHEL (10/5): - Lovely large comfortable bed, very clean and easy on the eye. Very friendly and yummy breakfast with all the trimmings . Thank you. Nothing!
- Roma (7/5): Comfortable room but wouldn't stay again. - Our room was cosy and comfortable. Lovely selection of teas and coffee in our room. The room was clean and fresh. Issue with the breakfast order, my sister put on the form Vegan breakfast. At breakfast we were told "you just put vegan on the form, that means nothing to us".
The host explained the food items you wanted should have been written in the comments box - however guests are unaware of what is in the kitchen..
Overall a simple tick box would have been much easier to navigate.
There was another guest who spoke little English, the host struggled to communicate and came across quite rude when speaking to him.
- Michael (10/5): - Location, amenities, everything you could ask for in the rooms, Lisa & phil are great hosts and make you feel welcome, great breakfasts...
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Heidi (8/5): We only stayed one night but will return as the place was lovely, as was the location and host. - Very comfortable room, lovely toiletries and a great breakfast. Found the room a little hot despite the fan being there, however that was just due to the weather.
- Mark (10/5): Perfect B&B - Very comfortable, clean, updated B&B in a beautiful small village just a few miles from Cambridge. Very welcoming owner and great made-to-order breakfasts. Definitely recommend.
- Michael (9/5): Great base for a trip to Cambridge and the surrounding area. - Very conveniently located in this quiet village. Great home cooked breakfast to order. Owners Phil and Lisa very friendly, easy going and helpful Trivial points only: breakfast coffee machine was average. Parking spaces a bit tight.
- Roger (10/5): Really nice stay at a very good, well run facility in a lovely location. Nice village feel. - Everything was fine. property and facilities excellent. Breakfast superb with a great choice. Nice quiet village location, you almost expected to bump into Miss Marple at the local shop! Could not fault anything

- Gregory (10/5): Comfortable and clean, unique property and delicious breakfast - Clean, quiet and comfortable boutique accomodation. Walking distance to several pubs/restaurants and short drive to Cambridge. Friendly owners , delicious well cooked breakfast. Nothing to mention
- Neil (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was catered for very well, I requested a vegan specific english breakfast (there is a form that you have to complete the night before) and this was excellent. Accommodation is in a good location in the village with 4 pubs in easy walking distance, 2 about 200 yards away.
- Claire (10/5): A great B&B to stay at. - Great B&B to stay at.
