Guest Reviews
- Jenna (10/5): - I booked this apartment very last minute after having a bad experience at my original hotel. The staff member that I corresponded with was very nice and helpful getting me a last minute check in, and the apartment itself was stunning. I would expect an apartment of that quality to be way more expensive so it was such a nice surprise!
- Daniel (8/5): - Do not rely on Google Street. A few minute walk from cafe and restaurant. Whitin 30 minutes walk from main attraction
- Chris (6/5): - Good stuff: Loved the location and the features of the property. It's located in a very walkable area with great shopping and dining options nearby. Check in was a breeze. The style of the decor was great and the roof top patio was a great place to spend the evening. Very nice bathroom and a reasonably well appointed kitchen.
Not as good:
Weird layout for a family. There's just three interconnected rooms, so if it's set up for more than two sleeping, you lose any comfortable gathering space.
There was some dust and hairs in the corners, suggesting a lack of attention to detail in cleaning, though our beds and the bathroom were cleaned well.
Appliances in the kitchen were either slightly broken or non functional, and in one case used a UK plug (thankfully we had an adapter). It would be better to not have these at all rather than provide broken appliances.
All in all, we had a fine stay, but if we return to Athens we'd probably look elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - WIFI is HORRIBLE. They advertised wi-Fi is available, but upon arrival the individual who checked me in mentioned that it was very weak. And come to find out that the Wi-Fi connect however there is practically no signal.
- Raúl (10/5): - This place is very convenient and close to everything.
- Lakshmi (10/5): - Very convenient
- Richard (2/5): Would not stay again, lots of small headaches - The Good: The bathroom doesn't get wet when you take a shower.
You technically could separate the beds with sliding doors if 2 couples wanted privacy at night.
The Bad:
Apartment was dirty. Dust and grime throughout the apartment.
Apartment appliances either didnt work(coffee maker), had UK plugs and couldn't be turned on(Iron+Toaster), or were antiquated(Stove+Water heater).
Communication, it seemed there were two desks/management companies at work here. I'd message one and get a response but then it wouldn't get followed up. I sent an email a week before and called at noon on the day of my arrival to inform them the time/mode I would show up but they never got the message. Further when I had problems with the coffee maker or toaster they didnt answer promptly and when they did there was never any resolution.
Price; this property was much more expensive than its competitors. You could have a much nicer apartment at half the price or less.
Location is in a rough neighborhood. Not great when the taxi driver dropping you off in daylight tells you to watch out; then the hotel staff also tell you the neighborhood is dangerous.
- Meron (10/5): - Great location.
The only problem was the very slow WiFi connection.
- liron (8/5): - Overall a good property in the center. close to everything. The host is really nice and helpful. Some improvement are required to make it a perfect place like the bed mattress which is not the best. Shower water flow which was too weak and amenities like soup which was very low in quantity. Also, its important to note that its an apartment and not an hotel which mean that they dont provide a luggage storage on the checkout day so you need to buy storage in a storage provider like Stasher. And in addition, they take a deposit for your stay which is not the case in other places in athens.
- Juergen (10/5): Outstanding Service and Location - The apartment and service was simply the best. The best that I have experienced in the past years. Location is central to many things…..many within walking distance.
The office personnel are so nice and willing to assist in organizing transportation to/from airport and other tours.
Simply an outstanding experience all around.
- Gabrielle (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at Heart of Athens. We could walk everywhere and it was just slightly removed from the main hustle and bustle. Communication was exceptional. Thank you!
- Trevor (10/5): - This was a beautiful place to arrive in Athens. It is spacious and mostly well equipped. And it is a very helpful and responsive hostess. The rooftop area is quite magical with a view of the acropolis. However, this is not a hotel. There is no on-site service. It is still a great place to stay and very conveniently located for the major sites and transportation.
- VENKATA SUBBA (10/5): - Great stay. Especially the property
Manage team is so helpful and made our stay very comfortable. They have been extra helpful in providing the details .
- Inna (10/5): - The property is in a very convenient location, it has absolutely everything you might need, spotlessly clean, and the bedding is comfy. The hostess is very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our stay there.
- R (10/5): Lovely Spacious Place in an Excellent Location - We had a really lovely stay here. The apartment was spacious, clean and had everything we needed, and the roof garden was a lovely bonus with great views of the city. The staff who work there are courteous and kind and made sure we felt comfortable upon radical. The location is perfect for visiting all the main sites and there are also great bars and restaurants nearby. Will definitely be staying here again next time I’m in Athens.
- Insun (8/5): - Great location and great space
- Heidi Willis (10/5): - While in the center of a vibrant neighborhood, the building is very quiet -- a lovely rooftop deck and the team was very responsive!
- Chanler Elizabeth (10/5): - Fantastic Stay very close to the “heart of Athens”
- Kimberly (6/5): Access...convenience? - Good location. Great space if you are traveling with family. Property operates like an Air BNB. There is no attendant or staff on site and you need to prearrange an exact time of arrival to gain entry. That would be fine and it can work. Email communications prior to my arrival indicated that someone would be onsite. I arrived exactly at my scheduled time based on email communications prior to my arrival, expecting to be able to leave my luggage easily prior to check in. Not the case. I had one day in Athens and really just wanted to leave my luggage and explore some of the major sites. I ended up losing a a couple of hours of my time just trying to connect with apartment managers. Hopefully my experience was a one off and not the norm for the operators of this apartment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property and the host of this propety were amazing. It was very central to almost all tourist attractions and restaurants via walking or metro. The apartments were spacious and very clean. I woukd recommend anyone staying in Athens to choose this place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful place! Great location too. Our flight was delayed so we were late checking in but no issue. I contacted them through message and they were there when we arrived. I would stay here again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Memorable trip to Athens - The Heart of Athens was a perfect find during our recent trip to Greece. My husband and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and stayed a few days in Athens during part of our trip. We were so surprised at the special cupcakes decorated with the number "35" as well as the basket with wine and assorted other goodies on the table when we arrived. We also received a detailed tour of the neighborhood with recommendations on great places to eat.
The apartment was spacious, very clean and well stocked. Some of the main streets could get crowded during the evening so it was nice to be off the main area in a much quieter place. One night we even went to the rooftop area with a view of the Acropolis and sat and enjoyed some wine! Thanks to everyone at the Heart of Athens for making our stay special.
- Alejandro (10/5): Will stay against fir sure! - Our stay was amazing, they were so helpful with a late arrival. The place and location are top!
- Negin (10/5): - We stayed at this property only one night but were delighted with the location and overall cleanliness. The host met us both upon check in and check out and provided helpful recommendations in the area. I would recommend this property.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Enjoying Athens - A lovely apartment. A great roof top view of the Acropolis. Nice restaurants within walking distance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, space and very nicely furnished. The staff make you feel really welcome and go out of their way to be of help.
- Teresa (10/5): Fantastic Flat - This flat was amazing and I would definitly stay here again if I ever return to Athens. It was spacious and clean; the host was absolutly lovely and helpful with local recommendations; and it really is in the heart of Athens. Overall, a fantastic stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, quiet, great location, well designed space that had everything we needed.
- xavier (10/5): Beyond expectations, super-trendy urban center - Servicewas beyond expectations, super helpful and friendly. Place was great, big and with everything we needed. Area is hyper-urban with graffiti and sketchy parts, right in the trendy heart of athens, just what we were looking for, but you have to be into that type of setting, not for people who want luxury neigborhood.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed here for our last night of our Greece vacation and after a long day of ferry travel, the hostess Vasiliki was just a lovely ray of sunshine. She loves the neighborhood and has a passion for making people feel welcome. Her love of Greece and made us feel like part of a community all in less than an hour she spent walking us around and pointing out places to eat and hi lights of the neighborhood. The apartment was immaculate, comfortable and perfect for us! This charming place was the perfect ending to our vacation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is not a hotel. It a department for rent like Airbnb
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the accommodations. Suite was larger than I expected. Immaculate place! I would definitely stay at Heart of Athens again!
- Chris (10/5): - Very nice, clean, quiet, updated room/apartment. Would stay there again.
- Matthew (10/5): - Heart of Athens is in a very good location and is very clean. Check in was easy and done online. The apartment was spacious and modern. We were a family of four and would highly recommend.
- Deanna (10/5): - The part of town this property is located in is really kind of neat! Im very traditional, and arriving there through the small streets strewn with graffiti was crazy...and then I see the building itself is decorated with graffiti! It was such a cool place, more like an apartment to live in. We were only there one night, but I could have easily stayed there much much longer and been very happy with my stay! So spacious, so well appointed, so well laid out, and everything was thought of. Loved our stay and would recommend highly!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice property and in the really heart of Athens. All nearby walking distance including metro stations.
- MARGALIT (8/5): The hipster place to be - Great location, great room. A bit of a problem with the hot water in the shower though...takes a long time to heat up.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Checkin process and overall hospitality was top-notch!
- CrystalL (10/5): - Property was centrally located and communication with host was great! Welcome basket was a nice surprise...first for us. Definitely recommend the Heart of Athens!
- christopher (10/5): 2 nights in Athens - The room was really good. Very clean and you were able to section off sleeping areas with sliding doors. The location is very close to bars and restaurants and the center of activities. My advice is to make sure you check in online with the hotel(they email you the link) because the staff are only there certain hours. The staff was super friendly.
- Maureen (10/5): - The pre arrival contact was excellent. Zoey’s hospitality and attention to detail was very professional. The property is spacious, modern extremely clean, well equipped. The location is central. Would definitely recommend.
- Rizwan (10/5): Fantastic & Excellent Hotel / Apartment To Stay - Excellent Hotel / Apartment also very helpful staff to arrange all necessary things like arranging hotel pickup + taxi to ferry terminal,
Very convenient location. Close to 2 metro stations and city center 10 minutes walk and also close to take the bus tours, also safe to walk at night, who ever is reading this review go ahead and book it you will not regret.
- Fery (10/5): - Nice hotel, nice location with very helpful management
- Steven (10/5): Nice and modern! - Really nice place!
Bigger than expected!
Would have been nice to have daily housekeeping but not a deal breaker!
WiFi was the best we’ve had in Greece.
Loved all the details....
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We really liked this hotel, very nice!
- Angie (8/5): - The property was nice , good location and confortable
- ali (4/5): Disappointing - Very nice place but very noisy from the people upstairs. Ceiling insulation very poor. You can hear every step. Sliding doors were noisy. Kept slamming. We were under the mercy of the people upstairs.
- padraig (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - Really enjoyed our stay in this clean apartment with a central location ,walking distance to every attraction, friendly staff and very accessible to contact for help.lets you feel like you are living in athens and gives you a real insight into the area that you will not get in a hotel. Its a real meeting of modern living in the older heart of the city .I couldn't recommend it more highly for a stay
- Kristi (10/5): - Increadible place right in the ‘heart’ of Athens
Will go back and recommend to everyone ❤️
- Kendall (10/5): - This place was perfect for what we needed. A couple steps away from great restaurants and bars. Centrally located to most of the historical sites. Great and friendly service. Highly recommend!
- Darren (8/5): Great location! - Great location as their name says it all. We were in the heart of Athens. It’s basically a flat vs a hotel. Very nice stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean and spacious in the heart of it all - Spacious, modern apartment in a central location, close to lots of great bars, restaurants, and shops. Some noise was audible from businesses late at night, but the windows in the unit kept things quiet enough. We appreciated the local guide and the welcome basket provided by the hosts. Late check-in wasn't perfectly smooth, but we were able to phone the late night number to finally get connected to get in to the building.
- Shaundra (10/5): - We loved the apartment and Adela was very helpful. The location was perfect for enjoying the sights and nightlife of Athens!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place in Athens - A great apartment in Athens for a 2-3 days break. very good location, easy to find, close to sites, restaurants and metro. Clean, spacious and comfortable.
On the minus side, it's pretty noisy neighborhood at night (late at night) especially in the weekends.
- Van (6/5): Good for singles but not for family - Location is short walking distance to main Monastriki area but the apartment itself is not well suited for families. It sits in the back of an alley in the midst of the un-maintained Athens downtown area. Not suitable with children to get in and out as alley has odor of urine etc, windows are iron rod gated for security on 1st floor, and building entrance is not a lobby but a walk in to go straight to your room as this is not a hotel but an apartment building of 3 suites. Rooms are in decent condition but claustrophobic b/c large dark curtains to cover the not so great window view of window iron bars and gaffiti wall in alley view. Room had all amenities needed. Also have to wait for 20 min for hot water to heat up for showers so not convenient. Rooftop view but very neglected neighbor buildings so not much view. OK for singles and couples with no children but families do not stay here unless you are ok with above.
- tim (10/5): - The apartment is clean and modern. The area is very convenient to everything. We basically walk to all sight-seeing attractions, shopping areas and dining. We got there after 12 midnight but we had no problem getting in.
- A (6/5): Stay at Athens - Hotel location was great, just a few minutes from subway and also lots of restaurant right few steps from hotel. walking to downtown also takes almost 10minutes where you found moderate and expensive shops as well. Tour bus (Hop on Hop off) also running on that downtown area. Acropolis of Athens accessable via downtown by walking from the hotel.
Room was very nice and clean and the only thing bother us that no proper front desk at the property. Owner comes few times on the under ground their office and we cant see when. If need some thing then we only communicate by phone or by email. Overall experience was good.
- Magda (10/5): Very impressed! - -Great location (in the city centre; during my stay I didnt have to use public transport and walked everywhere; also the hotel is surrounded by many cafes and restaurants )
-Helpful staff (Adela was extremely helpful and always replied to any of my requirements straight away)
-Clean and new apartment (also safe!)
-Rooftop terrace!!! Cherry on top of this whole place!
I got nothing bad to say about this hotel. I am very impressed, would recommend to anyone, whether you're travelling alone or with family.
Thank you so much!
- Ronny (10/5): Nice and clean and close to everywhere. - We flew from New York and arrived in ATH in the afternoon. We took Metro to Monastiraki station and walked to the hotel. It was very easy with Google map and took about 5 mins to get to the hotel. We booked the suite apartment on first fl and it was very roomy, neat and tidy, more then we expected. The hotel name do the justice. It is in the heart of the city. A log of stores, bars and restaurant and also minutes walk to acropolis. I would really recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment was beautiful, very spacious and clean. It has a huge kitchen and dining table. Great location- it was quiet although the area is full of bars and cafes and a five minute walk from Syntagma Square. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.
- Jeremy (10/5): New, Posh Flat - We absolutely loved our stay here! The property is practically brand new with high and bedding, fixtures, and appliances. The location is a bit of a walk from the Acropolis, but overall excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent location - Location was excellent, room had all the necessary details and a few more--fruit basket and cookies! We had a family room on the first floor with a couch that folded out to a bed. Quite spacious. Nice little kitchenette. Could walk to many nearby cafes within 2-3 blocks, so we did not use it. Would stay again.
- iram (10/5): Great stay! - Safe, central location. Extremely nice housekeeper who cleaned our room daily and always offered a warm greeting! Loved her!
The greeting basket of foods and snacks was very nice.
Hotel was very roomy and modern! Loved our stay. No complaints.
- Pamela (8/5): Beautiful place in an 'unusual' location - This is a wonderful little boutique hotel. We had a 2 room suite - a lovely bedroom with balcony and a surprisingly comfortable convertible sofa bed in the living room, which also has a balcony, along with a kitchen and a gorgeous bathroom. Sliding doors closed the different areas off from each other. And I don't think I've ever seen anything as clean as this apt.
There's only one problem - it's in an alley, which is hard to find and gets a bit scary at night. However, it's extremely convenient. It's an easy walk to the Acropolis, dining and shopping. It's even possible to walk to Syntagma Square, which is considered the center of Athens. I wish we could have stayed longer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for outing near Acropolis - Though the street was in the neighborhood was full of graffiti, the hotel/apartment was very comfortable with great hospitality. The room was very spacious, morden, clean, and stylish with fully equipped kitchen as well as welcome fruits. Rooftop was also great for relaxing and enjoying the city view with Acropolis in background. Market, metro and Acropolis are all in walking distance.
The only problem was noise of club music from next door and drunk people.
- Jon (10/5): Perfect - Perfect. Beautiful, modern apartment. Spacious. Terrific location near a variety of restaurants and close to downtown attractions. 20 minute walk to the Acropolis
- Mandi (10/5): Thanks! - We loved Heart of Athens. Perfect location but very hard to find. The local cab drivers didn't know how to find it. Took over an hour. The apartment is so charming and comfortable with a great rooftop deck.
- SCOTT (10/5): - We had a great stay at Heart of Athens. It was close to everything and the staff was very helpful with our late check in.
- Meir (10/5): clean and comfort exelent stay - very nice
- Lauren (10/5): Walking distance to many restaurants and bars - Excellent place to stay. Wasn't sure when I saw the outside. Didn't look like a typical hotel. Beautiful and modern. Extremely spacious. Gorgeous decor!
- AC (10/5): Quiet, Modern and Clean - The hotel kept in touch with me up until the date of my arrival providing all of the information necessary to check into the hotel as the reception would not be open when I arrived late so I never talked to the staff in person. The suite I stayed in was immaculate and beautiful. Clear directions were included on the ins and outs of the room including how to use the water heater. Local recommendations and transportation schedule was included as well which was helpful! Overall a great location and pleasant stay.
- Natale (10/5): Modern and clean in great area - We stayed here for a few days with our family. Two boys had to share a sofa bed and one was on a fold away bed, so apart from being a bit small for us, we loved our stay. The location was great near a vibrant restaurant street, and we loved the creative street art around the area. You can walk to metro stations and the Plaka. The unit is very modern and tastefully fitted out, and the bonus for us was the lovely roof garden with views to the acropolis, where we could unwind and have pre dinner snacks. The hosts are friendly and helpful too. We really enjoyed this part of town and I can recommend this apartment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Modern new hotel close to everything! - Loved this hotel & staff, clean, new, modern & a courtesy basket of goodies on arrival! a fantastic stay in Athens. Thank you!
- Alex (10/5): Great location - Great location near Monastariki square and metro station. Vibrant bar and restaurant area. But hotel was on a quiet street which was great for my young family. Very modern new room, very nice. Checked in after hours around 7pm but was able to immediately get in touch with staff over the intercom and they gave instructions on how to enter room. Instructions were emailed to me earlier in day but I didn't have access to internet to check. Highly recommended.
- Connor (10/5): Great location, rooms, pleasant staff - Great location, nice staff, even better than I had expected
- Jean (10/5): Very nice, modern apartment - Coming from the States, I was trying to find a hotel with 2 double beds to accommodate 4 of us (2 teenagers/2 adults).
This was perfect!
The apartment itself is very modern and comfortable, including AC. The rooftop terrace was great for our evenings as well, with an amazing view of the well lit Acropolis .
Keep in mind, there is not 24 hour staff on site, however, Adela contacted us a couple of days prior to arrival. She arranged transport to and from Athens airport, well worth it as streets are very confusing. She greeted us on arrival and was very welcoming and helpful. She also speaks 5 languages, including English, which was very helpful in a foreign country. The basket of fresh fruit/nuts/water was very much appreciated after a long day of travel.
There is a lot of street art (aka: graffiti), which made us question the safeness of the area, but soon realized it's just part of the culture. It's everywhere, and The Heart of Athens art is pretty amazing. We felt very safe and secure.
- Family of 4 (8/5): - Large room well located to central Athens a little secluded in a corner Street
