Guest Reviews
- Kimberly (8/5): - Super easy check in. Ate at Hygge which was recommended by the hotel in an email and it was sooooo good! Beds were very comfortable. A little outdated in terms of room furniture, etc but it added to the charm. :)
- Esther (10/5): - Waking up on this farm with delicious breakfast was a highlight of our trip. Well run guesthouse and beautiful lobby.
- Celsa (10/5): - They were very kind and accommodating since I had messed up my booking for the hotel. I needed to stay there on July 6th, but didn’t actually book it until July 7th. When we got there I realized my error. I was so worried about having to find another hotel, but they found a room for me and my family and we made do. They directed us to a nice place to eat and it all worked out well. We thank them for their help. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities.
- steve (10/5): - Nice rooms with beautiful views. Great breakfast
- caron (8/5): - The staff were great. The room was large, everything worked, the furniture showed signs of age, but had characture. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful, especially the home cured lamb.
Unfortunately the resturant was closed, but we were directed to one nearby and given a 10% discount code. The room had tea and coffee making facilitates, with tea bags, coffee and sugar, but no milk. It was disappointing that the reception area was closed every evening as there was seated areas, a pool table, chess set etc.
- Xiaojun (10/5): - Stuning View every morning
- Richard (6/5): - Breakfast was poor. Restaurant was closed.
- Michael (8/5): Cosy and friendly hotel. - This is a friendly hotel, run by very nice people and is well located to visit the south coast of Iceland around Vik. Some of the decor is a little tired but the hotel has a homely 'old fashioned' feel to it, giving it a cosy atmosphere. Breakfast was very good. One comment I would make is that the mattresses on the beds need replacing, they were quite lumpy. If that could be done, then I'd definitely recommend a stay at the Fljotshlid
- Susan (8/5): - Quiet, serene and picturesque. We enjoyed this beautiful property.
- Donald (10/5): - Nice location, breakfast was excellent. Very clean as well.
- Suzhen (4/5): - TPP AFR AWAY FROM MAIL ROAD
- debra (10/5): - Old, but quaint. Beautiful farm setting. Pretty far in the middle of nowhere. There is a small town nearby- Breakfast was wonderful!! Workers wonderful! Good location - midway.
- Maxwell (8/5): - Old place that feels like you are dropped into a different era. Room was really hot. Kept the window open all night and it slightly cooled down. No fridge to use which I think they should have. But staff provided me ice which was nice of them. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.
- Alex (8/5): - The front desk people were friendly and easy to check in. The rooms are pretty dated even for a eco friendly hotel. One of our beds was curving in the middle. The views were nice, breakfast was great. Overall 4.5/5
.5 is for the dated beds and rooms
- Jonathan (10/5): - Very quaint and clean hotel in a farm setting. A bit out of the way but a wonderful experience. Plus you can meet their farm dog!
- Sharon (10/5): - Very clean hotel in the beautiful countryside!
- David (10/5): - Dinning is over priced
But hey it’s iceland
- daniel (8/5): - Outdated overall look. Great breakfast, lot of homemade.
- Alexandru (10/5): - The hotel is actually part of the farm and we found it to be quite comfortable. We had a triple room and it was big enough to store and open our suitcases. The bathroom was also suitable. Some of the electrical outlets and lamps did not work, but this was not a problem for us. Wil have no problem staying there again, if we ever come that way.
- Valerie (10/5): - Very accommodating and what a wonderful breakfast—food and view!
- Clement (10/5): - Excellent hstorical cultural experience
- jin (10/5): - Friendly staff.
- David (10/5): Wonderful place to stay. - By far one of our favourite places to stay. Beautiful scenery, the farm is super cute and peaceful. Great shower. So glad we stayed here!
- Wilmonda (10/5): Nice location away from town - Comfortable stay, good breakfast, easy parking, would have been a perfect spot to see northern light as it’s a little far away from the main road and town.
- STEPHEN (10/5): - Good service. Nice room. Good morning breakfast
- Deanna (10/5): Comfortable and charming - Wonderful, comfortable stay. The hotel is charming with a special focus on sustainable practices. We ate at the restaurant one night and it was great. Breakfast was excellent. We stayed two nights and I would highly recommend this spot to other travelers!
- heng-kit (10/5): - Country side settings
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is on a working farm.
- Grant (2/5): Closed when we arrived, no notice or refund todate - The hotel was closed when we arrived. The telephone number on the door was not picked up. So we had to find alternative accommodation. We understand that Coronavirus has been terrible for hoteliers, but no other hotel in Iceland on our 3 week trip treated us like this. We either received advanced notification of closure, with full refund, or some hotels stayed open although we were the only guests. We are trying to get a refund but so far no response from the hotel. If we get a response I will happily amend my comment, as we appreciate Coronavirus impact, but we expect fair treatment.
- Sulaiman (10/5): Great hotel, saw the northern lights from bedroom! - Our travels to Vik was disrupted by extreme weathers and road closures. We had to book accommodation last minute. We booked Hotel Fljotshlid and was not disappointed, amazing location, great staff! The rooms were clean and warm. We even managed to see the Northern lights from our bedroom!
Incredible experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect! Couldnt fault anything. Would love to go back
- Joanna (10/5): - This was a wonderful place to stay to visit the Southern Coast. The rooms are basic but the service was excellent, food was amazing, location fantastic, and setting beautiful.
- Kevin (10/5): Don't skip restaurant. - The room was clean although a little outdated. The service was great and the restaurant should lot be missed. The food was amazing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room met all our needs but was nothing special. The bed was weirdly squishy. We got dinner at the restaurant on the property, which was amazing! Everything fresh and locally sourced. Breakfast was also great. And, like most places in Iceland, the property was surrounded by beautiful scenery.
- Lina (10/5): - Beautiful, serene location. Helpful and friendly staff. When we arrived the restaurant was closed, but the lady offered us some soup with bread. There is a nice shared kitchen available at any time. The room was spacious enough and had plenty of storage space. Good choice of food for breakfast, the homemade bread was delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel is located in the countryside of southeast Iceland. The glacier is visible in the distance. We arrived very late and the front desk person was very welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The shower worked great. Free breakfast was included, and it was delicious (continental). I also took a horseback ride and had a really great time. I really loved this place, and would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Liked the kitch/family aspect to it. Loved the common room with puzzle and billiard table. We would stay here again, although, the pillows and mattresses were on their last legs. Not as comfortable as we would have liked, but maybe they'll be replaced before we get back there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were friendly young adults who work on this eco friendly farm. Breakfast was included and was a nice Icelandic breakfast. Room was comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was very clean. Breakfast was delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- Lori (10/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy but softer than I would have liked. Staff was great. Breakfast was excellent and included.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Enjoyed location and pleasant staff would return again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was very clean. The bed I had kept rolling away from the headboard. The room and bathroom were a bit dated but again very clean. The breakfast was great, lots of variety. Staff was very polite and kind.
- Seapet (10/5): - Great location in historic Saga Country. Great price, great service. Great everything!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Charming country hotel with strong eco theme. Loved the farm to table concept and the rib eye steak, direct from their farm was superb.
- James (10/5): Every expectation exceeded - . A little hótel on a farm. The experience was exceptional. Farm to table cooking, environmentally conscious. The food was nothing short of amazing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff was very helpful. The room and the general facility is very old. The breakfast was very limited and there was no one to check on whether items need to be replenished.
- Jean-Yves (8/5): - Great breakfast, genial staff, quite decent rooms, okay location. Good value for Iceland.
- RICARDO JOSE LEDO (10/5): Amazing - One of the best hotels i stayed in Iceland. Amazing BF e people. Would stay there again, for sure
- Danielle (8/5): - Comfortable, clean and a friendly welcome. Property and scenery is beautiful.
- Lori (10/5): - We arrived to this hotel and was greeted by this friendly staff member named Hana! She immediately made us feel welcome and had the chief makes us a bite to eat for lunch! They help us with we’re to go around the area! I would highly recommend this property for your stay in Iceland.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, very peaceful. Beautiful property.
- Dave (10/5): - A lot of the food was from the local farm. The views from the hotel were awesome. The breakfast was great with homemade Nutella.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Small hotel, friendly staff, lovely setting, great breakfast.
- John (10/5): Great place to stay. - The hotel was located on a horse farm. Staff was very nice and attentive. Breakfast was great. The room was very clean. Bed was little too soft for me and the room was little too cold for my wife. Overall the hotel was fantastic.
- Jacqueline (8/5): - France was so welcoming upon our arrival. We decided stay for dinner & it was good. It’s in a quiet rural area, but it’s that what your looking for in Iceland. Btw-there is a great waterfall down the road that I didn’t see on any map...it was an additional bonus
